PI 7.0 - SMICM - Host Name - Conflict with other places

Hi Friends,
We have host name conflict in SMICM and in other places.
For example, in SMICM it shows the host name 'A' for HTTP protocol and it is green, where as in other places like in RZ10 (Profiles in ABAP), Exchange Profiles (Connection Parameters, Host name), in SLD and in Visual Admin the host name is mentioned as 'B'.
At present, the messages are failing in SXMB_MONI with the error "CLIENT_RECEIVE_FAILED 402 ICM_HTTP_TIMEOUT ".
When we checked the paramter "icm/host_name_full" in RZ11,it shows the empty value.
This problem comes in our quality PI system, ABAP stack.
Could you kindly clarify in SMICM for the HTTP service from where the host name is taken and displays here?

Connect to the operating system. Check this file (replace xxx with your SID and, if applicable, 00 with the correct instance):
C:\usr\sap\xxx\SYS\profile\xxx_DVEBMGS00_ILBNKxxx
Find this line:
icm/host_name_full = hostname.company.corp
Is this maybe empty / incorrect / incomplete?
After changing this the server needs to be restarted.
Sometimes we had strange behaviors after host name changes, which went away after going to sicf -> execute -> right-click on default host -> deactivate -> right-click again -> activate -> in the pop-up click the second activate button, which is for activating the system and all dependent entries.

Cryptocme2.dll - conflict with other applications

Hi,
A few machines in our firm have ArcServe Manager installed. This is causing a dll conflict with Crystal Reports 2010. The dll in question is cryptocme2.dll.
If I rename that dll in the Arcserve folder, the crystal report can render without problems. This Arcserve is in the Windows Path environtment variable, however shouldn't crystal reference it's own?
We originally thought it was an install issue only - Error 1904 when installing Crystal Reports 2010 Redistributable however it turns out this is a runtime issue as well.
Can we please fix Crystal Reports so that it references it's own cryptocme2.dll?

CR for VS2005 is already installed on my workstation.
When installing CR for VS2010 SP1, the following error message pops up :
Error 1904. Module C:\Program Files\SAP BusinessObjects\Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 4.0\Common\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win32_x86\ReportPromptEMF.dll failed to register. HRESULT -2147023898.
If I rename the cryptocme2.dll file which is in the path (environment variable), the installation can end successfully.
As long as I keep that dll renamed, everything works fine.
However when I restore the original file name, I can't even open a rpt in design mode ("unable to open document" error message from SAP Crystal Reports ActiveX Designer)
And at runtime :
Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {F734A321-8381-4FFD-A614-139E8906DC83} failed due to the following error : 800703e6.

Adobe extension manager messages "the following extension conflicts with other extensions

Hello,
I got this message from Adobe Extension manager but it didn't list what extensions or other plugins that conflicted with the hollywood2 2.0 plugin that i was trying to install, anyone else have issues downloading plugins through extension manager?

CS4 Design Premium conflicts with other programs

I have installed CS4 Design Premium with great difficulty on a Windows XP service pack 3 machine. I also got to about 90% and the program would stop. I eventually installed Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash and InDesign individually. It appeared that all programs were working except Illustrator. When I tried to launch Illustrator I received the following: "Illustrator.exe Bad Image The application or DLL C:\Programs Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CS4\Support Files\Contents\Windows\Alcid.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check against your installation diskette."
I ended up uninstalling Illustrator. I was going to reinstall it but then I started having other issues.
Since installing, everything slowed to a crawl. Internet Explorer crashes, even Notebook crashes. There seems to be some sort of conflict with CS4 causing instability. If Adobe support was available I would call them. They are unavailable until October 14. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I am going to uninstall all of CS4 in hopes of stabilizing my computer. Other than that I don't know what to try.

I probably will buy more RAM but I don't think that is my problem. I have the conflicts without even opening any of the Creative Suite Programs. Something running in the background is probably the cause. What does Creative Suites run in the background? I uninstalled the Media Player. I am wondering if it is related to Acrobat 9 Pro, Acrobat.com, or Adobe Drive? Do I need Acrobat.com? What for? What is Adobe Drive?
By the way I have over 400 GBs of hard drive space available. When I look at the RAM usage it is OK. Thanks for any help.

ASA 5505 Logging Issue - Warning: Configured logging host interface conflicts with route table entry

I am getting this warning on my ASA 5505 when I try to set up logging from my off site FW to the central FW, which is a 5510. What I am trying to do is send the FW logs through the VPN Tunnel into the central 5510 to our logging server at 192.168.22.99, but allow all other traffic out the outside interface so customers can hit our web servers down there. Here is an example of my config with fake IP's. I get this error when trying to do "logging inside host 192.168.22.99". If I try to put in "logging Tunnel host 192.168.22.99" I get the "Warning:Security Level is 1" message

I am mistaken on the 5510 interfaces. They do not have vlans, and the IP address is directly applied to the interfaces for outside and inside.

VI Name conflicts with "Open VI reference"

I am using LabView RT, where an application loads LLBs at runtime:
1- The user creates/compiles a LLB containg a VI that is loaded at runtime later
2- The user renames the contained VI to an enumerated name so that all names are always unique
3- The user uploads the LLB (containg the VIs with a unique name) to a LabView RT system
4- The LabView RT application openes all available VIs contained by the uploaded LLBs at runtime (the filename hints at the VI's unique name)
5- The LabView RT application executes the now opened VIs
My problem is step 2 where the user needs to rename the VI. This is because the RT application will not be able to distinguish between the opened VIs if their names are equal. I want to eliminate step 2 because it's error prone as the user always forgets to do the renaming or the user does the renaming in a wrong way (e. g. non-unique, typo).
A dirty hack would be to automatically replace all VI name strings (which are alidentical and like a placeholder) inside the LLB binary with unique ones at RT application's runtime. So the application takes over the renaming task.
Any other solution?

Final CAT Pro Plugins Services cause shortcuts conflict with other softwares

I just installed Final CAT Pro Plugins. They are useful but cause me an issue:
Since they are based on Services OSx system, they remain active also in other programs, so that when I use, for instance, Logic Pro, I have some shortcuts which match the Final CAT Services ones, and in the moment I digit them for Logic use they don't work in Logic and moreover cause FCPX to launch.
So.... How can I do? (Apart from changing the shortcuts....)

Conflicts with other programs.

Dreamweaver MX 2004 seems to be preventing oher programs from
working correctly. When I try and open some programs they won't
open and I see the Dreamweaver (green circle with "d") in place of
the correct programs "symbol" in my Dock.
I have a Mac G4 running on OS X 10.3.9.I keep getting the
serial # prompt when I open Dreamweaver. I tried downloading
Product Serialization Hot Fix Updater but it didn't unzip after I
downloaded it. (I have Stuffit to unzip files). Therefor I couldn't
ru the fix. BTW I had downloaded the trial version and the trial
period is over. I

Possible conflict with other cd ripping software.

Since installing iTunes I have not been able to import CD tracks directly into "Cool Edit Pro" nor have I been able to create image files of my cd's with "PowerISO".
Prior to installing iTunes both worked flawlessly.
I have tried un and reinstalling iTunes and subsequently also re-installing "C.E.Pro" and "PowerISO" but can't get either program functioning again.
My Nero software so far still works just fine.
Perhaps iTunes has changed something in the registry affecting these other two programs.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

TinyMCE editor conflicts with other components?

Having problems with a page that implements both the TinyMCE editor and Carl's DHTML Shuttle. The latter works on its own, but when the TinyMCE code is added to the page we're getting:
Error: dhtml_ShuttleObject is not defined
Error: g_ShuttleMe1 has no properties

I'm hoping that my inexperience with Javascript means I'm missing something obvious that will stop these useful components from interfering with one another.

Figured this out. Was trying to include TinyMCE javascript reference in a page template, but the editor initialization from the page HTML header and ApEx scripts are included via the #HEAD# substitution in the template, resulting in things being in the wrong order.
Including the TinyMCE script reference in the page HTML headers has solved the problem, but I'm still not clear on why including this before the #HEAD# placeholder in the page header stopped all the ApEx scripting from working?

Avoiding Conflicts with Other Administrators

Multiple administrative user's can update running config on ASA. Is there a way that we can restrict only one user at a time to make changes on ASA?

I don't think there is any way available explicitly to check for this.
You have to manually check for the session or you can use username accounts with different privileges to prevent the users from making any changes.

9iasr2 infrastructure install - host name can not start with a digit?

Hi,
During the installation of the infrastructure the installer builds the database domain by using the host name. If the host name starts with the digit as in our case the installer fails with a blessing 'Database domain name should start with a letter'. How can we workaround the problem?

HOW TO DEFINE VIRTUAL HOST NAME IN HPIA64 + SAP R/3 ENTERPRISES 4.7

I am trying to install sap r/3 enterprises 4.7 with OS as HP-UX and Database as Oracle in a cluster environment.
In cluster environment sap installation should be done on virtual hostname ( package id ). I'm using the env variable SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME=<VIRTUAL HOSTNAME>.
My cluster is running and I'm able to ping it from network, but at the time of SAP Installation my sapinst starts with the physical host name not with the virtual host name.
What can be the solution ..?

Try executing sapinst with virtual hostname.
eg. ./sapinst SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME=<VIRTUAL HOSTNAME>.

I do not have SDK_CONFLICT_PRIORITY defined. Is this new to CVI 2009?

I have included <windows.h> before <formatio.h> but CVI still wants to use the formatio version of WriteFile - it appears to have been renamed CVI_WriteFile ?!?!?

As far as I can understand (but I'm not an expert on these very technical and tricky aspects of C) first of all CVI functions are renamed CVI_xxx, after it a call to WriteFile or any other function in that group is defined to be translated to CVI_WriteFile, so when you call WriteFile the preprocessor actually translates it in the CVI version of the function and SDK one is superseded.
My understandment is that if you undefine WriteFile, you can actually use both functions if you want: native CVI one by calling CVI_WriteFile and SDK one by simply calling WriteFile.
...or I can be missing some other hint, which can surely be possible!
