Hi all I have performance issue only in IR on both actions :
- displaying queues (debugging mapping)
- activating mapping objects
For all others things (runtime...), server is ok and fast...

If you have CC you can go to preferences>Experimental features and select scale UI 200%. Otherwise you're out of luck.

Healing brush/Clone stamp tool and others very slow processing. System resources monitor shows only 700MB (of 5GB allocated to Photoshop) RAM and 30% CPU is used to perform such tasks as healing brush. Process bar comes up and is painfully slow to complete the task. I don’t understand why does Photoshop not use all the resources available/allocated? No other programs are running at the time, I have tried all the suggestions on this forum and all over the Google. My brand new system is: Intel I7 4770K overclocked to 4.3GHz, 8GB 1600 RAM, Samsung PRO 120GB SSD system drive, 100GB scratch disk. The photos I usually work on don’t exceed 20MB in size. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks

I have not mentioned the GPU because the processes I described (as far as I know) are not supposed to be using GPU resources. So far I have not been able to afford the GPU i want which is GTX770, so I use Intel 4600 built in graphics instead. To be honest I find, that 4600 graphics is quite powerful. I am able to play Mass Effect 3 on Full spec on max res without game slowing down. And Windows 7 64bit index score is 7.8 for the 4600 graphics. Overall index score is 7.8 on my PC righ now.
I'll try to get the Photoshop system info as soon as possible.

If you're synchronizing Safari with iCloud, disable that temporarily and see whether there's an improvement.

Poor performance in Repository mapping test tool (7.0.12)

Hi,
I'm just looking for some hints for performance tuning the Mapping tool in the Repository. This is our Development machine.
Seems to be significantly worse since upgrade from sps 10 to sps 12.
Every "display queue" / recompile of the map takes almost 5 minutes.
The Java stack currently has about 4gb of heap, abap 1gb. We reallocated a large amount from abap to java which temporarily alleviated the problem (about 60% quicker), but it's back after a few days. There is currently no possibility of adding more memory.
The problem seems to be noticable primarily with the IB, hence I'm looking for any performance tuning tips that would directly affect this. I'm thinking that we need to concentrate on the Java stack. I've looked at note 894509 and SAP NetWeaver Process Integration Tuning Guide and not seen anything directly related at first glance.
I've deactivated end-to-end monitoring.
The only thing that stands out is a significant amount of activity on the disk with the sap/oracledb/oracleexec on it. It's about 9 times greater than the amount of swap. Two processes seem to be regularly at the top of CPU usage dw.sapPID_DVEBMGS14 and /usr/sap/PID/DVEBMG.
Hints and tips appreciated. As I said, hardware changes are not possible at this time.

Are you gacing this issue only when you test the mapping in the IR or even in the runtime?
I have also noticed that mapping test in the tool in IR always take a long time, but as they never reflect the runtime mapping perfromance I have always ignored it.
A few reasons might be,
1. Low RAM on the Machine being used by you.
2. Too Many applications!
Remember you are Connecting to the server from your IR using JWS and so the resources on your machine also matter quite a bit.
If completely off track , ignore the reply.

Stress test tool and guidelines for tuning ADF 11g

Hi all,
I am working our ADF 11g application on load & stress testing. The load test works fine with some millions of full dummy rows (this generated data tool is easily written by ourself). The tunning only was done with only indexing. But with stress I'm concerning with RAM and other tunning parameters such IO and share pool from OS to DB and to WL servers and how to tune it for around 200-300 concurrent connections. I'm studying Jmeter for this purpose but still not get the answer. I have tested with Oracle Openscript but it worked very heavily slow :(.
The question here is that do you have any experiences on tuning parameters for such requirements and what is the best automatic test tool for testing multi-connections, please advise me.

HTTP sender, difference between test tool and own application

Hello,
we are using HTTP test tool to connect to XI and send a flat file to a directory. Only a small test!
OK, using the test tool offered here in the SDN, we are successful connecting to XI. SXMB_MONI shows a good result.
But using another HTTP application we get an error back:
error code 404; resource not found
This is what we use in the HTTP application:
http://test.com:8070/sap/xi/adapter_plain?namespace=http://test.com/sandbox&interface=HTTP_TEST_OUTBOUND&service=HTTP_service_test&sap-user=xiappluser&sap-password=secret&sap-client=001&sap-language=EN&QOS=EO
I tried to have a look at the threats here but did not find something I could use.
Who could help?

Drag and drop very long password from host MacBook to guest iPod Touch?

iPod Touch 64GB Software version 3.1.2. MacBook as in signature.
When I built my home wireless network, I chose a very long and complex password (63 characters) to protect the access to my network. Once the passphrase was randomly chosen, it was no problem to copy/paste it from the MacBook to the wireless router. The key is WPA (AES, TKIP)
But now, with the iPod i've just purchased, I have found no way to achieve that kind of transfer. I have tried to type the password manually into the iPod, but in spite of several very careful attempts, no success.
Please, two questions:
- does the iPod operating system support that kind of key? (WPA -AES,TKIP).
- if it does, is there any way I can copy it from the MacBook, and somehow paste it in the iPod, at the required location? Or any other way to "sync" the iPod so that it imports and remembers the password?
I know that a work around would be either to cancel encryption in my home network, or to change the password to something much more simple. I could do that, but that's the last ditch. I am not security obsessive compulsive, but the amount of private users networks around me are so many, and all of them are encrypted. There must be a reason for that

Nearly three months with no response? I'm facing the very same issue. The fundamental problem is the inability to enter funky characters (backtick/grave accent, pipe/vertical bar, tilde, etc) in the Wifi password box.
Two possible solutions I can offer:
1) Enter the password in the Mail app, then copy/paste to the Wifi password box.
a. Go to the Mail application
b. Select the To or CC field
c. Press "123" access the non-alpha keys, then "#+=" to get access to grave accent (`), pipe (|), curly braces ({}), and tilde (~).
d. It's easiest to do the actual composition in the body of the email, so copy your funky characters from the To:/CC: field regularly.
d. When you're done, select all the characters, copy, and paste into the Wifi password box.
2) Email yourself the password and temporarily use a simple password on your network to retrieve said email from the Touch. Copy and paste the password into the Wifi password box.

Ldap test tool and auth failing after upgrade to 11gR2

Hi All,
We have recently upgraded our apex database from 10.2.0.3.0 to 11.2.0.2.0 using apex 3.2. We have been able to confirm that all apex applications work as expected apart from the apex ldap utility. The tool returns "Authentication failed!" even though the ldap server port and DN string have not changed from previously. We can confirm that ldap bind works as well as using the sql directly through the database.
Has anyone come accross any problems with something similar?

Got it resolved. Since we are using a custom LDAP application we had to run the script not only for the DB account APEX_030200 but also the DB Account that is associated with the workspace containing the custom application or package.

WE19 (iDoc Test Tool) and case sensitive content

Hi experts,
I am not able to send case sensitive content via WE19. When I change a value of an existing iDoc (via WE19) all values of the segment are converted to uppercase (independent of the domain).
To reproduce:
1) Open transaction WE19
2) Use any existing iDoc as template
3) Open any segment
4) Fill any field with a lowercase text
5) Press ENTER
6) Re-open the segment and check changed field. -> The value is converted to upper case
This (translate to upper case) happens only on the segment that has been edited in WE19.
In my opinion, the transaction WE19 is not usable because it is not possible to edit/change case-sensitive values. In our customer setting we need to send case-sensitive data in iDocs to the receiver.
Question: Is there any other transaction to read an existing iDoc, change the data case sensitive and send it to the receiver.

yes - this is a "strange" behaviour ;o)
Only other solution I know you need an IDoc in status 51 for:
- go to bd87
- select the IDoc in status 51
- navigate to the needed data record
- double click it
- menu => display => change
- insert your data
After saving the status will be reset and you can process the IDoc in BD87.
I am not sure this will work for each IDoc and element - but you may give it a try.
For converting an existing to status 51 you can use this report: RC1_IDOC_SET_STATUS

When you return a computer you get multiple properties - DN, Name, SID, etc. You need to indicate what property you want using dotted notation.
Test-Connection -ComputerName $w.Name -Count 1
You can also only return the Name when you do your Get-ADComputer by piping it to Select-Object. If you do this option, your variable would not need the dotted notation (.Name). $w is all you would need, since it would only contain the Name property.
Get-ADComputer -Filter * -SearchBase ... | select Name
Oh my, I just realized you are piping this to Format-Table - get rid of that! Do one of the two options above and you should have this figured out. Doing a select may be the best option since you will be returning a smaller set of information.

Default MAPS application crashes and will no longer load or operate

For some reason about two weeks ago, my maps application will try to load and then crash on me. I cannot get it to work no matter what I do. I even did a restore on my iphone 3G and it didn't help. In fact the restore just made a mess of all my apps.
I cannot get the default google maps application to load and not crash. Help!

Multicolumn list box, "operate value tool" and "active cell"

If I use the "operate value tool" to select a row
of the multicolumn list box, that row gets a dark blue background.
However, I cannot determine which property will tell me what is that row or let me
change that row number. It is not the active cel or "edit position".
I want to programatically change the selection just as the "operate value tool" does. I can change the background color of the cell but the dark blue of the cells selected by the "operate value tool" take precedence and hide my colors.
Extremely frustrated and wishing for Java or C++...

Migration Working with Errors and Taking Very Long Time: Transient error MapiExceptionNetworkError, StalledDueToMailboxLock

So, I am migrating mailboxes to a 2013 EXC from a 2010 EXC. Both in same subnet on same domain. Firewall on WIndows disabled:
Setup batch move on 2013 box. But users logs are getting
StalledDueToMailboxLock in the status as well as
Transient error MapiExceptionNetworkError has occurred. The system will retry (1/60).
also, The mailboxes eventually migrate over 2-3 days. some quicker some with out error. Error comes up with mailboxes that users do not use. I have a lot of users to migrate and cannot migrate as such a slow pace.
Any Ideas of the error??

Did you changed the web.config file of MRS on both exchange 2010 and 2013 CAS servers?

OBIEE Admin Tool (11g) takes very long to start up

I am running on Windows 8.1, on a new, fairly powerful desktop machine, and launching the BI Admin Tool takes much longer than (I feel) it should. I haven't timed it but it's in the ballpark of 15-30 minutes. I double-click the shortcut and immediately I see a black console window with the title "BI Administration", but it takes such a long period of time to eventually open a GUI window. I can observe via Task Manager that the CPU appears to be utilized constantly during this startup time. Could I have something configured incorrectly? Any advice on solving this problem would be much appreciated.

If you look at the certification matrix for OBIEE you will see the Admin Tool is currently not officially supported on Windows 8.1, for now it's only up to Windows 7 (and starting from Windows XP if not wrong).
Making it work on Windows 8.1 is a workaround (I remind I read it require the 32bit version even on a 64bit OS) so you can't complain if it's taking long or not working at all.
For a perfectly working Admin Tool stay on supported environment => use a virtual machine.
