PI 7.0 SP15 to PI 7.1 EHP1

Hello,
Have a few queries.
1. Firstly, I see the EHP1 getting released to customers by end of august 09? am I correct?
2. Nextly, can an upgrade from PI7 SP15 to PI 7.1 EHP1 be done directly? or there needs to be some other upgrade that needs to happen before this one?
3. Also, i know in an upgrade all my objects and developmets are safe, but say a fresh installation of PI7.1 with some SP (not EHp1) is done on a sandbox, then can the objects/developments be transferred from Dev 7.0 to Sandbox 7.1 ? and will this work?
any other info that you can share.

Yes, you can directly upgrade PI 7.0 to PI 7.1 EhP 1.

You can download the development objects from PI 7.0 and upload them to PI 7.1
That will work without issues.

I have installed the SP15 SneakPreview. When i am trying to deploy a webdynpro application into portal from NWDS2.0.15, it is asking for SDM password.
Can anyone please tell me what is the default password, because i dont remember providing any SDM password during the installation.
I tried giving the Portal passwword, but it does not seem to work

Single Sign On Authentication on SAP EP 6.0 SP15+ base on Novell

Hi all,
I saw that starting from NW SP15, the kerberos authentication for SSO on the Enterprise Portal is suggested instead of NTLM authentication with IISproxy using Windows AD as user repository.
Now I have to investigate the possibility to achieve Enterprise Portal authentication in SSO against a Novell infrastructure.
On my network users authenticates themselves using UserID/password stored in Novell eDirectory repository. I wonder if SAP certifies the SSO kerberos authentication also on the Novell environment and what are the requirements in terms of needed software pieces on Novell side (ex NMAS) and network infrastructure (Windows, Netware, other).
Briefly I'd like to know:
- Is there the possibility to achieve SSO authentication for EP if using Novell eDirectory? Is it a SAP certified solution? Is it supported for production sites? Are there available papers on configuration activities to be done?
- Is the kerberos authentication the right way to achieve this?
I'd like to add another piece of complexity. In reality I have a complicated network where a group of users (belonging to a company division) authenticates on a Novell realm using eDirectory, and a second group of users (belonging to another company division) authenticates on a standard Windows AD. The new interesting question is:
- Can the EP SSO be configured with kerberos authentication using a multiple realms configurated in a priority list? I'd like to have to possibility to configure a list of KDC to be contacted on cascade one after the other to authenticate login requests.I gave a look to the WAS J2EE krb5.conf file and it seems that nothing prevent to configure the J2EE engine to configure multiple kerberos realm. I just wonder if it is supported.
If some SAP EP gurus could give an answer I would really appreciate VERY much.

We are about to have a look on the same issue: Providing Kerberos-based (SPNego) SSO to the SAP NW portal using eDirectory.
Reading the online help it seems that SAP only has testet this on Active Directory and I cannot see it as a certified solution nor find any configuration documents on this.
However in 3 or 4 weeks we will try to use the "standard configuration" (from the online help) against eDirectory and basically the directory (AD, eDirectory etc) just have to provide a keytab file, userstore and a service user - this must be possible for Novell eDirectory as well as for MS AD. Of cause we expect some challenges, but it should be possible!
If you gain any information or gain some experiences trying - please infor us.
I will update this when we get any new information.

Error while creating my first project on SP15 and why Help doesn't work?

I have a fresh SP15 installtion.
I have 2 problems creating my first webdynpro project.
1.When I go to file-new-project-webdynpro->(enter name)->next , I have windows poped up with the following error:

I am frustrated cause I can't do any step futher...! Is there any special settings on the SDK, Window-Preferences, etc?
2.My Help doesn't work at all - it used to be (with SP11 slim) when i go - 'Help-SAP was docum-SAP webdynpro appl ' and I had my help window poped up.Now I dont have anything!

For your information there's another solution if you don't wanna reinstall your NDS or if the reinstallaion doesn't work.
The error is in the resources so you have to replace some plugin resources to correct the error. Because of that you need access to the resources from somewhere else.
1. Go to c:\Documents and Settings\"username"\Documents\SAP\workspace\.metadata\.plugins and replace org.eclipse.core.resources with a "working" resource
2. Go to C:\Program Files\SAP\JDT\eclipse\plugins and replace org.eclipse.core.resources.win32_2.1.0 and org.eclipse.core.resources_2.1.1 with a "working" resource.
Restart NDS and it ought to work

Error while installing Sneak preview Netweaver 2004 --SP15 on WindowsXP+SP1

hi, i'm getting a error while installing the Sneak preview NetWeaver 2004-SP15 on Windows XP + SP1.
error message: Corrupt GZip trailer
JDK version: 1.4.2_08 and 1.4.2_09
i searched this error on google and i found it's a bug of jdk1.4.2_08.(see this page:<a href="http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4262583">http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4262583</a>) it said this version can't run when the uncompressed file is 2GB or larger. and this bug was fixed after jdk1.5. but i noted that Sneak preview was not tested on jdk1.5.Ignore it, i uninstalled jdk1.4.2_08 and Sneak preview,then i installed jdk1.5 and reinstalled Sneak preview.Unfortunated, i got another error.The error code is 3018.

I faced this problem while I was installation.
Following are my installation's step, is there any problem?
1.I have a new system just for installation, it is WindowsXP + SP1(2.5G memory and 2 CPU);
2.download JDk 1.4.2_09 from sun.com and installed it;
3.download Sneak preview Netweaver2004SP15 from sdn.sap.com. There are 3 files total.
Two are NW04SneakPreviewSP15.rar, the other is DeveloperStudioSP15.rar;
4.uncompressed NW04SneakPreviewSP15.rar. I used winrar, it's OK.
5.start install NW04SneakPreviewSP15.rar step by step according to the installation guid.
6.to this step 'SAP J2EE Engine Server Core', all are right;
7.error in the step 'Load Java Database Content';

I also tried jdk1.4.2_08 and I also installed in Windows2000+SP4. But I faced the same problem too.
From sun.com, I know this error is a bug of jdk. They explained that this version can't run OK
when zip-file is larger than 2G. Then I found here's a file
(name is 'NW04SneakPreviewSP15NWSneakPreviewSP15SneakPreviewContentSDMSDMKIT.JAR'). It's size
is 2.08G. I suppose installation can't manage it.
I tried unzip this file and renamed unziped folder to 'SDMKIT.JAR'.
Then I found another large file in the unziped folder(name is 'F:NW04SneakPreviewSP15NWSneakPreviewSP15SneakPreviewContentSDMSDMKIT.JARpackpackedRoot.jar')
, so I also unzip this file and renamed unziped folder to 'packedRoot.jar'.
Then I reinstalled, of course, It's no work.
Unexpectedly, I found this download link is not available on the sdn.sap.com(see this page:https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloaditem?rid=/library/uuid/cfc19866-0401-0010-35b2-dc8158247fb6).
It say that 'We apologize that this version is currently not available to download.'.
I guess there are any problem in this version, are there?
So, now I think I must download another version to install.

Error in Background job for Status refresh after SP15

I am having a issue after applying SP 15 in our Solman Production.
Bckg Job REFRESH MESSAGE STATUS for refereshing message status which was working fine uptil SP10 now its
giving us following error
At least one entry could not be found in object buffer CRM_ORDER_MISC 106 E
I refered note number 1096329 but it doesnot give the solution as our Solman PRD is already at Support package ST ( SAPKITL425)More over our Solman Dev is working fine with SP15 with same seetings as Solman PRD .
Can anybody help me out. Is there any further setting needs to be done in IMG.

Issues in Windows 8.1 system SRM 7.0 SP15

Hi Experts,
I am testing for SP upgrade project from SRM 7.0 SP12    to SP15 (SAPKIBKV15) in Windows 8.1 system.IE-11
Issues-
1. I am unable to open any attachment(MS office files-   .xls .xlsx   .doc & .docx) directly from SRM portal. It is throwing error- The file is corrupt and cannot be opened.
(However, I am able to open local copies).
2. System is generating SC/POs with account assignment index as '00' instead of '0001' , which results in failure of
PO updating in backend system ECC.    PO status says- Erro in Process
Can anyone please suggest me how to fix these ?

Could you please advise whether the attachment is opening in Windows 7 system without any concern. And I also request you to advise if the attachments are opening in any other browser.
And I also request you to check if the file name is correct comparing your BBP_PD details (File name) to the portal file name.

How define ECC 6.0 system in smsy? Solution Manager 7.0 SP15

I have to define ECC 6.0 in my Solution Manager 7.0 SP15.
At smsy transaction -> Landscape Components -> Systems I don't find name SAP ECC to create new system. So I created it on SAP ERP.
My problem is when I go to create a logical component to assign my ECC system. So I go to transaction smst-> System Groups and Logical Components -> Logical components -> SAP ECC -> SAP ECC Server, I've created a Z New logical componets and at the right frame I am not able to assign my define system under SAP ERP. I get a pop-up "No system found for this product/main instance".

The problem is solved.
When I defined the system in smsy transaction, I made a mistake because I define it like a ERP 2005 and not a ECC 6.0, so in the next step when I want include this new system in a ECC 6.0 logical group, it wasn't able to find any ECC 6.0 system defined.

I have a plan to do a demo scenario 1 to n mapping without BPM.
I tried FAQS solution bit confused , so i tried designing following way.
I'm confusing in creating target messages ( i need to create 2 messages from 1)for message mapping.
can any one clarifies design steps approach for this scenario.
and what precautions i need to take care when designing this type scenario.

Hi Venu,
To do a 1:N mapping, the follwoing things are essential.
1. In your message mapping, make the occurence of your destination message type unbounded
2.in your inetrace mapping, make the occurence of your destination message interface unbounded.
3. WHile doing your Interface determination, select the option extended and selected your mapping program.
Also, Multi mapping works only with adapters running on the j2ee engine and so, will not work if you are using an idoc adapter as the receiver adapter.
The number of source message type will only be one, just the occurence will change for the destination message types.

BPM not working in SP21,but working in SP15

I have a BPM scenario where I have a send step followed by a receive step.
The send step invokes a proxy in R/3 and that sends back a RFC to XI.
These both are related by correlation.
Now the strange thing I am seeing is the BPM is not able to correlate the response message coming with namespace urn: sap-com: document: sap: rfc: functions in the payload.
Same BPM is identifying the return message if the namespace in payload is http://xyz.com/XI/ABC.
This same BPM without any changes is running fine in PI7.0 SP15; I am facing this problem after the upgrade to SP 21.
I have tried cache refresh but no use.
Please suggest a solution

Unable to start netweaver developer studio 7 (sp15) error attached

Hi,
when I try and start netweaver developer studio 7 (SP15) I get the error message below.
I also got an error message when trying to reinstall the software about a file not registering and needing to reboot. Which I did,
I have tried deleting the whole .metadata folder - but the error keeps coming back....
we are running on a 64 bit system - but I thought this would run as a 32 bit program....
any ideas??

This seems to be some issue with wrong S/W choice between 32bit and 64 bit version. Or could be some OS related patch missing.
You seem to have Win 32 bit version and JDK installed is 64bit version.
Pls confirm.

PI 7.0 SP15 alerts JMS Duplicate message error

Hi all,
We have a scenario where in we receive BAPI calls to R/3 from web through MQ and XI.
WEB -> MQ->XI->R/3 (Request / Response send back similarly)
We have modular configuration in the channel.
All these BAPI messages are queries needed to build an order for example product information / customer information etc.
We have PI 7.0 SP15
Sometimes we receive the error ' Duplicate JMS message with JMS ID##### detected.Duplicate will be ignored' in the sender JMS channel.Because of this error XI is not able to process subsequent messages and the channel keeps on throwing the same error.We need to clear the queue and then restart the channel to make it work.
Can any one please tell me what is the reason for occurence of this error..?
Is this ID generated in JMS or in XI?If so how this could be handled without clearing the queue's..?
When we analyzed the messages in the queue we found out same xml messages been send twice which i would imagine the query been send twice(which is a possiblity from the web) would that have caused this JMS duplcate message error??!!
Also because of this error XI is throwing multiple alert messages at the rate of 3 per second which is causing the huge performance hit as the alert inbox gets filled up..We did put the suppress multiple alert check..but before somebody reacts to these alerts there are numerous of them created..any suggestions on this is much appreciated..

VC through Usermapping SP15/SP10

I was able to use VC to serach for Models by selecting the system alias of my portal system in the drop down. I could get all the Queries. I had used user mapping between the user I used to launch VC and my BI user. That was till SP10.
Now on SP15. I use user mapping and my portal BI system itself shows single sign on not configured even though user mapping is set. Though I can still run BEx iViews without repeated login.
And in VC when I select the BI system, it says it cannot connect to backend.

any clues?

Web Service in Sneak Preview SP15 gives NoSuchFieldError: _typeRegistry

I've been trying to create a WebDynpro application which should access a simple webservice. To ensure that the webservice actually works, I have successfully contacted it and sent a request with a successful response to it using WSNavigator.
All this is running on the Full Java Sneak Preview SP15 and being developed in NWDS SP15.
What I've done is:
- Create model using url
- Link request in context from model to component
- Link request in context from component to view
The context (of both the component and the view) is strucured as follows:

When I try running the application and clicking the button I get the 'NoSuchFieldError: _typeRegistry' message in my tracelog.
As far as I know, my there is no errors in my approach, nor my code.
So, examining the generated code, I find where typeRegistry is set. It is in a class extends the abstract class com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxrpc.wsdl2java.ServiceBase. The abstract class rightly has the field 'typeRegistry'. So all is good... Just to test something I try inserting the line

Trying this approach (which is bound to mess everything up eventually) it seems like the code runs a little further before crashing, and I end up with the following exception in my tracelog: SAPNoClassDefFoundError: com/sap/engine/services/webservices/jaxrpc/wsdl2java/dynamic/DynamicInterface
And I've tried searching for this class but have not been able to find it anywhere. I do not think that really matters, because the first exception should never have happend in the first place.
So, all in all I am now at my wits end. I do not know what else to do than ask you people for guidance.

I have solved this now...
The solution is: Uninstall SP15, download and install SP16.
Installing SP16 might raise some new problems.. e.g. the administrator is now Administrator/abcd1234 instead of admin/admin ... And this must be manually changed in configtool.bat under secure store.. and the password for SDM should be changed from admin to abcd1234 too.... but that is another story

Migration from SP12 to SP15

Hi all,
I'm evaluating the migration from SP12 to SP15 on AIX5.3. Has anybody made any negative experiences regarding this issue? Are there any obstacles/glitches I will have to consider?

I've followed a couple of successful migration, both from SP11 and SP12, SunOs and Win32 respectively. Nothing particular. I heard "bad" thing only about SP14.
