Internally Released Indicator
Until a comprehensive release concept is developed for a packet discussion, two levels of release exist:
Not released, that is, this class is only a utility class and is not actually used
Internally released, that is, this class can be restricted (see internal release of function modules). There are no stability guarantees for use outside of SAP.

Released for external use RFMs

Hello,
Is there a comprehensive list of all the RFMs marked as "released for customer/external use" somewhere? If not, is there a way to find if a particular RFM is or not released for external use?
BTW, SAP Interface Repository was not a great help since it has information only on selected RFMs.

Thank you for the answer, Christoph. There is definitely a field in the attributes of a FM which says "Released on" or "Not released". I hope you are talking about this field.
A couple of more things:
So, there are very few FMs which are actually released for external use - most of these being BAPIs. Is that right?
(ii) I can not use an FM which says "Not released" in my app, if I want certification of it - right?? It has to say "Released on: date of release".

Australian. How do locate apps which are suitable for Australian use,

How do I locate applications which are relevant for Australian use, for example a shopping application; a travel application;
Do I have to do a search in itunes for the category I want, and then go and read about that application (if a website is offered).
Are the only forums for specific applications, attached to each individual application? That is, there is no one forum which deals with queries/features of applications in itunes?

Apps aren't an iTunes issue, per se, since iTunes only downloads and transfers them. Try:

Automatic creation of Company Code and Sales Area Data for Customer Master

Hi,
We have a organisation structure setup with multiple company codes and sales areas.
A customer will be created using VD01 via the Sales Order VA01. Because the customers are created using VD01 we need to automatically extend the customer for the various company codes and sales areas. The data on these views will be populated using reference customers.
Any recommendations on the best approach (technically) to auto extend the customer master would be appreciated.
I'm reluctant to use BDC's because of performance. We are in a Retail environment.

The sample code has been taken from the SAP notes - in which have the affected as outlined in the example.
The codes does not do what my requirements are, which is to identify the next available number in isolation of the BP type.

If you're currently developing an application using NoSQL DB, or designing your schema for a NoSQL DB application, please take notice.
In an upcoming release of NoSQL DB, there will be a new restriction on keys: no key may have an empty (zero length string) first component. An IllegalArgumentException will be thrown when attempting to use a key with a KVStore method, if the first component of the major path is empty.
Using the standard Key.toString format, this means that any key beginning with // will be prohibited and the empty key / will also be rejected. For example, the following keys will be prohibited:

//a/-/bThe reason for this restriction is to allow the NoSQL DB implementation to store internal information or metadata using key-value pairs. These internal key-value pairs will begin with an empty component and will not be accessible via the API. For example, these internal keys will not be returned by the KVStore.storeIterator method. If your application currently uses keys with an empty first component, please reply to this post and we will suggest alternative approaches.

Oracle does not follow the road for abstraction using views for it's E-Business suite.
In general it's better to use the tables. It's faster and in case a table changes or becomes obsolete a view is provided anyway (i.e. RA_CUSTOMERS used to be a table prior to 11i, now it's a view).
There are some exceptions (of course ;-):
1. Multi-Org tables (_ALL suffix).
If possible you should use the views if you run your reports from Oracle Applications. If you want to extract data for your datamart then the using the tables would be
your preferred option.
2. Multi-language tables (_TL suffix)
For tables that have a "_TL" peer table the view with the _VL suffix should be used.
If you are using Discoverer with 11i it may be good to have a look at the BIS end-user-layer that Oracle provides with 11i. This will give you the data abstraction you were seeking.

Sales Area check for custom partner function

When processing sales orders in our system, it does not check the sales area for the customer of a custom partner function. Can this be setup via config or is there a an exit that can be used for this.

Currently, I created new partner function ZZ (for example).
I assigned this partner function ZZ to account group Z000.
I created new partner XYZ in account group Z000, in sales area XX00/XX/XX.
I created a sales order in sales area YY00/YY/YY.
Problem is that system allows me to assign partner XYZ to this sales order.
How do I prevent this?
How do I enfore that system will only allow partner XYZ in the sales order, if the partner is created in the same sales area?

Search for customer using KNB1-ALTKN

Hi All,
I have my customers loaded in a new server with reference to old server, by mapping the olad customer under the field KNB1-ALTKN, ( at company code data level).
I use ECC 6.0 where i dont find this field when i search the customers using F4 in VD03, can this be amended so that i can search the new customers by keying in this previous customer number field, if so please let me know on the steps involved.

I hope you are aware that Table KNB1 is table Customer Master u2013 Company Code Data.
1. Check the field KNB1-ALTKN in XD01/FD01 in company code data instead VD01.
2. If the field is not available in XD01/FD01. Then check Account Groups with screen layout - select the Group - select company code data - select Account management - Previous account number, based on your requirement maintain the display of the field.
Further you can user exit EXIT_SAPMF02D_001 for populating this field automatically.

Both of the 4G mobile hotspots are useless for business use

I just returned the Samsung SCH LC11 as it can't be used with VPN. I saw that the Novatel 4510L was released and spoke to level 2 tech, it's not VPN compatible either. Great to have a 4G network that useless for business. The tech team has no clue as to when this will be resolved.

Since the early release the Iphone now gives you the ability to shut off your email and you would have control over your web surfing via edge/safari by just not surfing. In other countries (like Germany for example) I understand WI-Fi is more available. Here in the US ATT has public Wi-Fi spots where you can buy a day , week or month of time for between $7 and $30 which allows you to control you data and email costs. Now while these conditions may not be ideal, if this is truly for business then such costs would be the cost of doing business even in the UK but I guess since you have the VAT across the pond it is a god reason not to want to pay more up front. The Wi-Fi solution isn't perfect because you now have to actively get your own email rather than having the phone get it for you but and you can't use the surfing and Google features at will but such is the price of controlling cost. We have had early usage problems here in the states where families going on cruises forgot to turn off their Iphones and got socked with $4300 phone bills, but updates to the software allow you to control the email features. Hope this helps with your decision. I think you'll find the Iphone not so much useless for business travelers as you might suspect.

Program Type B Batch Input
Create the two structures
1) Customer data
 Customer Data Structure contains the general Customer details
2) Customer Bank data ( this structure must be child to th above structure)
 this structure contains the Bnak Details
while defining the source fields take one field as indicator(Char 1) in both the structures,
for the Indicator field
in Customer data structure place the Identifying Field Content H
in Customer Bank data structure place the Identifying Field Content I
i.e. to differentiate the Header and Item
In Maintain Structure Relations step
 assign the Customer data Structure where required
 assign the Customer bank data structure to the Traget Structure BKNBK
In Field Mapping step map the fields accordingly..
in specify file step
create a file and select the radio button Data for Multiple Source Structures
assign the Source file to both the Source Structures.
then Read data
Convert data......
Note:The Source file should contain the Header Item Differentiation
as Header record should contain the 'H' as the indicator value (First filed value should be H for an Header Record )
same as for item record (i.e. for bank data , the first field(Indicator) value must be 'I'.).

Creating and releasing (for private use) an app with Adobe DPS

Dear all,
I am creating an app for iOS devices with Adobe DPS.
It will be a private app; I don't want it to be viewable on the app store. I only want to get a .ipa file so that I can send it to my contacts and the can install it on their devices through iTunes.
Honestly I'm a bit lost. It's the first time I'll have to face all of this.
I don't really know how to proceed for a private app. I guess even if it's not available on appstore, the app still have to be approved by Apple ? or am I wrong ? What are the steps to go through in order to get the .ipa file ?
Do I have to follow the same step-by-step tutorial as for a common app ?
Any advice from someone who have already faced the same kind of situation, or from anyone who knows a bit about all of this is very very welcome…

With a pro account you get a .ipa file and a .zip file. The ipa file is for testing so the devices that you add in the apple developer account ( max 100 in a year ) can all install the ipa file. The .zip is for submitting to apple.
In the enterprise edition for DPS you can create enterprise signed builds that can be installed on any Ipad within the organization. ( no limit to the number of devices you can install it to. )
