PI_Basis

Hi,
I'm running R/3 4.6C with pi version 2004_1_46c sp 8.I want to know which version should be in my 3.0B BW system - (this system is running 2004_1_620 pi_basis)
after upgrading my r/3 system to ecc6 - i understood that in ecc6 the pi is a part of the system - appl component.
Regards,
Moshe

Ambarish,
If you go to search and give BASIS (instead of last 90 days , choose All) you will see so many documents. I'm not doing anything special. I have got the below link from the same way as I suggested
XI Basis
Search is the best option
Thanks!

We are currently upgrading our Enterprise 4.7x200 system to ECC 6.0 using the SR3 upgrade CD's. In the BIND_PATCH phase the system is reporting:

SAP so far has responded that we need to wait until the SP16 is released, but this won't occur until the end of November as far as we can tell.  Waiting would delay the GoLive for the upgrade almost a year.
They also suggested to revert to a version of our system that does not contain 2005_1_620 SP16, however this is not possible, as this SP has already moved to production and restoring the database would result in data loss.
My most recent questions back to them, which I'm hoping someone here might be able to answer for me are....
    1) When is the next SP for PI_BASIS 2005_1_700 being made available.
    2) Is is possible to upgrade PI_BASIS 2005_1_470 to PI_BASIS 2006_1_470 prior to starting the upgrade and will we run into the same problems.
    3) It appears that PI_BASIS 2005_1_470 SP 16 contains only two objects... LIMU CLSD /SCMB/CL_DF_DOCUMENT & LIMU CPUB /SCMB/CL_DF_DOCUMENT. What would the impact be if we simply continued the PREPARE phase (ie, responded IGNORE to the warning message)?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Please check the following websites.
    1. http://service.sap.com/enterprises.
    2. http://service.sap.com/sp-stacks--> search for SAP R/3 4.7E of PI_BASIS pulg ins.
    3. No issues of those two objects.Once you have done upgrade PREPARE phase is successfull, almost upgrade is successfully.

  • PI 7.1 upgrade - PI_BASIS patch level in ECC

    Hello
We are looking at upgrading our XI 7.0 SP12 to PI 7.1. Our backend ECC system is at PI_BASIS SP11. Most of our interfaces with the backend are through ABAP proxies.
Will an upgrade to PI 7.1 demand an upgrade to PI_BASIS in the backend ECC system as well?
If not, what is the minimum SP level the PI_BASIS component in the backend ECC system should be at?
I don't find this information in upgrade guide; where will this information be normally available?
    Thanks
    KK

You can use PI 7.1 with any SAP system.
However, if you want to use Abap proxies based on message interfaces of type "stateless" with WS-RM protocol, the ECC requires SP 14.
The Abap proxies based on XI 3.0 protocol do not require any special patch level.

  • Problem in SAINT with updating PI_BASIS 2006_700

    Dear All,
I have a system ECC 6.0 with OS Windows 2003, oracle 10.2g as Database.
I wanted to installed Croatian language in my system when uploading from SMLT it showed me that the system need PI_BASIS 2006_700 whereas my system is having PI_BASIS_2005_700 with patch
    SAPKIPYJ7G PI_BASIS 2005_1_700: patch 0016
    But from T-Code SPAM, PI_BASIS 2006 u2018s patch
    SAPKIPYM01 PI_BASIS 2006_1_700: patch 0001 is in yellow state.
I have downloaded the SAPKIPYM01 patch from service market place and from t-code saint tried to update but it is running from last 6 hrs.
Last log file (E:\usr\sap\trans\log), generated 4 hrs ago.
Something might have gone wrong, that is why I have stopped it in IMPORT_PROPER step.
From SPAM it shows updated component PI_BASIS 2006_700 from PI_BASIS 2005_700 and its patch SAPKIPYM01 (2006)is in red color (cancel)
    How to recover from it?
    From saint the component showing
    SAPKINBC9A  -- installation  -
    PI_BASIS
    SAPKIPYM01 - support package--PI_BASIS
Add-on installation terminated in IMPORT_PROPER step
Now my doubt whether base package of PI_BASIS 2006_700 needs to be updated first from saint then start updating patch??
    Please suggestu2026.

  • Not Getting SAPKINBC9A upgrade patch for PI_BASIS

    Hi All,
I am implementing SPS 12 in my ECC 6.0 System. System is on oracle and linux. My PI_BASIS patch is on 2005_1_700 level and i need to upgrade the same on 2006-1_700. So i cannnot import any of 2006 patch before this component
I am not getting the support pack SAPKINBC9A on OSS. Am i searching right patch or do i need to implement some other patch for this.
    Thanks in Advance
    Thanks,

I got the patch. And i have implemented the same with SAINT.

  • Add-On Removal/Downgrade - PI_BASIS in CRM 5.0 system

    Hello,
Following is an issue I am trying get brainstormed:
    1. There was an error in the system
    2. Proposed solution was to upgrade PI_BASIS component from 2005_1_700 patch level 9 to 2006_1_700 patch level 9
    3. PI_BASIS was upgraded upto 2006_1_700 patch level 8
    4. Patch level 9 would trigger many other activities of fullfilling pre-reqs and upgrading other components, so PI_BASIS wasn't brought upto Patch level 9
    5. Now, the proposed solution changed to apply a correction transport attached with a Note instead because Patch Level 9 wasn't possible.
    6. Now, having upgraded PI_BASIS to 2006 version with Patch Level 8 already added many additional activities in a Live environment and they have to be avoided
    7. Solution being downgrade PI_BASIS from 2006 version to original 2005 version
    8. In order to carry out the above change, either delete 2006 version from the system and install 2005 version OR perform a downgrade directly from 2006_1_700 patch level 8 to 2005_1_700 patch level 9
    The Questions:
    1. Is #8 above possible at all?
    2. Does anyone know how to perform either of the 'Remove an Add-On' and/or 'Downgrade an Add-On'?
    Any help is highly appreciated.
Thanks for your time and support.
    Regards,
    Shival

    1. Is above possible at all?
    Simple answer, No.
    2. Does anyone know how to perform either of the 'Remove an Add-On' and/or 'Downgrade an Add-On'?
As far as I know is not possible... you'll have to restore from backup.

  • Problem in inst. ST-PI & Upgd. of PI_BASIS

    Hi All,
We are in the process of upgrading SAP 4.7 to ECC 6.0
We have upgraded our Oracle from 9i to 10 g and run the upgrade prepare.
Now upgrade prepare statistics says that we need to upgrade  ST-PI & PI_Basis.
Currently we have (SAP R/3 4.7*200):
Kernel: Release 640, Patch Level: 295, ABAP Load: 1521
    SAP Basis: 620 SP49
    SAP_ABA: 620 SP49
    PI_BASIS: 2004_1_620
    ABAP_PLUS: 100 SP13
ST-PI: There is no entry in my system
I have tried to install ST-PI with the CD KITLRCA.CAR and upgrade the PI_BASIS through the CD 51030956.
But in SAINT (tried in SPAM also) t-code after uploading the CDs the entry of the ST-PI & PI_BASIS_2005 is not appearing and hence not able to upgrade these two components.
Please suggest how to install ST-PI with SP8 and 2005_PI_BASIS?
    Regards,
    Souren

    Hi Souren Sharma,
I think you have entered the wrong package or have not implemented the packages atall.(Only uploaded the the packages)

Then download the support package for ST-PI
Support Packages and Patches - >Entry by Application Group ->Plug-Ins->SAP Solution Tools->ST-PI>ST-PI 2005_1_620
    SAPKITLQG8
    Download 2005_PI_BASIS

  • PI_BASIS 7.02 compatiblity

    Hi Experts!
We are in the process of Netweaver 7.0 upgrade to EHP2 which includes plugin PI_BASIS with min. required 7.02 SP07 level.
Do you know what restrictions apply or where to get information about the minimum version/patch level for the connected systems in the landscape?
The lastst verion and compatibility information I found was for "PI_BASIS 2006.1" in Note 1007796.
Any info about newer PI_BASIS version's compatibility?
    thanks,
    Peter

    Hi,
I don't think so pi_basis 702 has minimum patch level 7. This might be because, EHP2 has latest SP4 released which has PI_Basis 702 SP7. You just need to maintain equivalent patch level while doing upgrade.
    Thanks

  • Missing PI_BASIS plug-in between 2002.2 and 2005.1

    Hi gurus,
I need to install on my SAP System (SAP R/3 Enterprise) the <b>PI_BASIS 2002_2_620</b> (and many more) plug-ins but someone have still installed the <b>PI_BASIS 2005_1_620</b>.
Now, on my server, I have only this two PI_BASIS plug-in release:
      - 2002_2_620
      - 2005_1_620
Is mandatory to install the missing version (2003.1.620 and 2004.1.620) or everything is ok?
    Also, is possible <u>to remove</u> the PI_BASIS 2005_1_620 plug-in?
    Thanks!
    Alex
      <b></b>

You really have two versions installed? That´s not good...
PI_BASIS is the plugin, that handles communications and contains interfaces between e. g. R/3 and the SRM, CRM, BI etc.
A correct process would be to use the latest one (which is 2006_1_620) and installing it by UPGRADING the installed one.
I really suggest opening an OSS call since your system is in an inconsistent state, you have two identical addins of different versions - which is usually not possible to have.

  • PI_BASIS Plugin

    Hi all,
We are trying to implement Plug-ins and Support packs to most current level through the landscapes. One interesting thing we found was PI_BASIS 2005_1_xxx Patch 13, and PI_BASIS 2006_1_xxx Patch 0001 expire on
    same day.
    "Maintenance
Will be in mainstream maintenance until December 31, 2013."
    Link:https://websmp202.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000662329&
Now we do not see a major reason why we should go for PI_BASIS 2006_1_xxx
instead we could simply patch the Plug-in and wait.
    Please advise.
    Thanks
    Jaya

    Hi,
You have to install the support packages with SPAM but you need to use SAINT to upgrade a plugin. You have also to download the specific upgrade/install files.

    Please help me .....

There are two separate kinds of prerequisite to apply SP SAPKW35014.
The first one is to apply PI_BASIS 2006_1_640, which is not released
at the moment. The second possibility is AOP SAPKIPYJ64
