PI NWA Log Config change does it need restart?

I would like to see detail trace info of FTP messages, hopefully to see ftp commands in the trace.
So I have changed the   File adapter default trace level to "All" in NWA Log Configuration.
I logged out of NWA and posted some ftp messages and relogged into NWA and looking log viewer (defaultTrace) file, I don't see the details.
Do I need to restart the PI server this trace level to take effect?
also is there any other way to get to see the details of the ftp commands?
Thanks in advance.

Hello
No, a restart is not required. The application should start writing at the new logging severity. It is possible that the message was processed on a different java server node. Anyway, you can check note #761921 Creating an XI Adapter Framework trace file. This documents the exact steps required to increase the logging severity.
There is another tool available in note #1514898 XPI Inspector for troubleshooting XI. You will be able to see the ftp commands in here also.

    Hello,
Is it newly built system? Please compare log and trace levels with other java systems in your landscape.
You can give a try as following..
           1.      Goto NWA and click on Log Configurator service.
           2.      Switch to advanced mode.
           3.      Select the Location tab page.
           4.      Choose the location of default.trc file.
           5.      Save the configuration
           6.      Restart JAVA and see.
    Thanks,

just have some bit confusion, i a user profile is changed, will it require to set  user password ? Please advise
No. Changing user profile is different than re-stetting the password.  When you change a user profile the password reset will depend on password_* attributes of a new profile.  Profile is a set of attributes that apply to the user. You can find different profile password_* attributes at  -

  • Why does a "need restart" pop-up keep appearing?

I recently tried to upgrade my Adobe Reader to the version 9.1.3. It then said I needed to restart my computer for the updates to be fully finished. I did so, and the same pop up came up again. Now, whenever I fully restart/shut down my computer then restart it, the same pop up comes up telling me I need to restart my computer! Know why that is? Bad download? I mean, it's something I can live with, just curious why it's happening. By the way, under my Programs list, Adobe is listed as version 9.1.3, the version I downloaded, with the date I updated it on. Weird!

I have read some similar things for Acrobat here, but you really should ask your question in the Reader forum. You might search this forum for similar comments in the meantime.

  • Why does a "need restart" pop-up keep appearing with version 9.1.3 update?

I recently tried to update my Adobe Reader to version 9.1.3. My computer told me I needed to restart for the updates to be completed. I did so, but then the same pop-up came up again, the need to restart. Now, whenever I totally restart/shut off my computer, then turn it on again, the same pop-up comes up, telling me to restart it! I mean, under my Programs list, Adobe Reader is listed as being updated to the 9.1.3 version, so I'm not sure why the pop up keeps coming up! I can live with this quirk, it's not a big deal, just curious as to why it's happening!

I was running Adobe reader 8.1.3 and I kept getting the message that my computer needed to be restarted after every reboot.
The problem went away after deleting this folder:
    %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Updater5
I then went into adobe and clicked Help, Check for Updates.
It finally found version 8.1.4, updated and the message went away.

  • Java.policy - does it need restart of all processes to take effect

I have to change java.policy in WebSphere. Do I have to restart all the servers running on that node (all Java Processes using that JRE) for the policy changes to take effect?
This will force me to restart all the other applications running on different WAS server instances. Is there a way to avoid this?
    Thanks
    Satish

I am not familiar with WebSphere but there should be a way to refresh the Policy. My Mozilla browser Java console has this option.

  • If we change cube specific properties does we need to delete data in Prod

    Hi All,
We have changed cube specific properties like display of InfoObject  in dev. to transport to prod does we need to delete data from cube or not required . Please help.
I am assuming that data deletion not needed as we haven't changed the structure of cube. please advise us.
    Regards,
    Chandra

the only reason for which data is to be deleted from a cube before an import of changes, is if a Infoobject is removed from the cube (for any reason). so in your case, no need to delete data. Anyway this is a trial and error case. leave the data and import. if the import dumps, then you have a big chance that you need to delete the data. do this and import again.
but, i don't think it's necessary in this case.

  • Confusion in Weblogic ReportsServer config without doing change the config?

confusion in Weblogic ReportsServer config without doing change the config ?
    my env
    windows 2008 64 Bit
    WLS 10.3.5 64 Bit
    pfrd Forms/Reports 11.1.1.4 64 Bit
after Install all and config my Forms and Reports
the default reports server i found with
    http://wlog:8090/reports/rwservlet/getserverinfo
    had a name
    RptSvr_myserverhost_Formsreportsinstan,
I did run my Forms and reports well with RP2RRO.RP2RRO_RUN_PRODUCT
now some time later I found, that the reportsServer name is changed to
    rep_wls_reports_myserverhost_formsreportsinstance_1
    and I don't know, why ??
I do start the WLS_REPORT by using the oracle-scripts using startManagedWebLogic.cmd
In the WLS Admin Console there I can see the WLS_REPORTS Server is well started
and after change the ReportServername in my forms to the 'new' servername
I can start my forms with Reports again
In the Enterprise Manager 11g under the reports-tree there are three entries:
    ReportsTools
    reports(11.1.1.2.0)(WLS_REPORTS)
RptSvr_myserverhost_Formsreportsinstan ( the 'old' reportserver, that isn't started and not available )
    on Server in
    C:\Oracle\Middleware\asinst_1\reports\server
    there are two entries:
    rep_wls_reports_wlog_formsreportsinstance_1.dat
    and
    RptSvr_myserverhost_Formsreportsinstan.dat
    and in
    C:\Oracle\Middleware\asinst_1\reports\
is in the reports_install.properties file :
    SERVER_NAME=rep_wls_reports_wlog_formsreportsinstance_1
    ORACLE_INSTANCE_NAME=Formsreportsinstance_1
    INPROCESS_SERVER_NAME=rep_wls_reports_wlog_formsreportsinstance_1
what I have done, that can be the reason for now have two entries for reportsserver ?
In the last days i worked to create the windowsservices
to start the WLS_AdminServer and to start the WLS_FORMS / WLS_REPORTS
    ManagedServer
and I changed the IP - Adress of the WLS - ServerHost, ( and back again )
but didn't create a new ReportServer ore anything !
what can I do, to fix this confusion ?

    Hello,
In 11g , there are 2 Reports Servers created by default :
    - rep_wls_reports_myserverhost_formsreportsinstance_1
The "in-process" Reports Server . WLS_REPORTS must be started and you can start this "in-process" Reports Server by just calling an URL like http://server:port/reports/rwservlet/getserverinfo or by using the menu in the EM web site
    - RptSvr_myserverhost_Formsreportsinstan,
The Standalone Reports Server . You can start it using opmnctl command or using the menu in the EM web site

  • The touch pad on my Mac book Pro is very sensitive and causes changes without hardly touching it. Can this be changed or does it need replacement?

The touch pad on my Mac book Pro is very sensitive and causes changes without hardly touching it. Can this be changed or does it need replacement?

    Touchpads are just that, touchpads.
You touch it and something happens unfortunately, you can't rest your fingers on it while your waiting to do something else or it triggers a response.
You either have to train yourself to remove your fingers and keep them suspended, causing wrist, arm and hand pain, or plug in a standard mouse where nothing happens until you press the button, like years of ergonomic experience has shown is a much superior method.
Touchpads are likely less expensive to produce and breakdown less often under warranty, so just like less expensive to produce glossy screens, it's a cost cutting measure they were  incorporated into our devices and required users to adapt to sweeps, gestures and other useless actions for little benefit.
I've owned my Early 2011 MacBook Pro for a year now and have only used the trackpad once, the mushy keyboard perhaps only a couple of dozen times. Preferring external devices where I can rest my digits and nothing happens until I apply pressure or use a scroll wheel.
Needless to say my keyboard area is in brand new condiiton, remains covered from the original packaging, protects against dirt and spills too.
Mac's keyboard and trackpad area tend to wear out pretty fast, like in about 3 years, making one consider getting a new machine long before it physically fails.

  • Why does Firefox needs permission to make changes to my computer?

Yesterday, when I tried to start up Firefox, a window popped up and asked if I wanted to allow the program (Firefox) to make changes to my computer. It has never asked me that before and ever since yesterday, whenever I click to run it, the same window pops up. It doesn't specify what changes Firefox is making and I just keep clicking "allow." I have Windows 7 and yesterday, I also downloaded Sleep is Death by Jason Rohrer- a simple, small game, but I don't believe it asked me to change anything in Firefox. Can anyone tell me either what the changes are or how to stop Firefox from requesting to make them?
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == Yesterday

Check that you do not run Firefox as Administrator.
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".
In the Compatibility tab, make sure that Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" is not selected.
You also need to check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program directory.
If you can't make the changes then you need to start Windows Explorer as Administrator.

  • When i log into all my sites needing a password then close browserand reopen browserand i have to log into the site(s) agianevenwhenIsay remember me Ie facebook

When i log into all my sites needing a password and username for example Facebook and Gmail then i close the browser with "remember me" selected it logs me out of Gmail and Facebook. Then i have to log back into the those sites again. This does not happen to me in Internet Explorer or Google Chrome.
Firefox seems to save the password and username but logs me out of all my sites that needs a password and username after each session. This never happen to me before an Firefox update.
The only way that i have found to work around this to keep Firefox open.
    Thanks

The "remember me" checkbox instructs the site to set a persistent cookie in Firefox. Persistent means that the cookie is marked with a future expiration date so that Firefox retains it between sessions.
There are a lot of ways to break this. For example:
    * Visit the site in a private window
    * Change Firefox's default setting of accepting persistent cookies from all servers (first party and third party)
    * Set Firefox to clear cookies at shutdown
    * Install add-ons that clear cookies
    * Use external cleaning/security/privacy software that clears Firefox cookies
If you're not sure about your cookie settings, check out the Privacy panel of the Options dialog:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Privacy
If you have "Firefox will: remember history" then cookies are accepted and retained.
If you have "Firefox will: use custom settings for history" you can check your cookie settings below that line.
If you have "Firefox will: never remember history" then you are going to be using full time private browsing and cookies are discarded between sessions.
If cookie settings are okay, and you would like advice on your extensions, it would be helpful if you could post a list of them. Open the Troubleshooting Information page using either:
    * Help > Troubleshooting Information
    * type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
In the upper left corner, click the Copy text to clipboard button, then paste into a reply.
After previewing, you will see there is some extra information below the list of extensions that you can edit out if you like.

  • Java APM Agent initialization failed: SEAgent.config.xml does not have a valid event sender configured

Today I tried to configure JAVA APM on a CentOS 6.4 server with tomcat6 installed through the normal RPM package. Adding this server to SCOM was no problem and it shows itself as a 'Deep Monitored Configuration'. The last part of enabling
JAVA APM fails. I have followed the following process:
    1. Imported the JAVA APM MP's
    2. Extracted the JAVA APM Files
    3. Copied those files to my CentOS server
    4. Added the JAVA_OPTS to my tomcat configuration file
    5. Restarted Tomcat
When I look for the log file which needs to be created through the installation of the APM agent it cannot be find. When I look into my Catalina.out file I see the following errors:

Does anyone have seen this error before? Can someone help me with this one?
    Thnx,

I'm running tomcat on a CentOS release 6.4 (Final) server. I installed Tomcat 6 through an RPM from the CentOS sources. I have installed Apache Tomcat/6.0.24 wit JVM version 1.7.0_09-icedtea-mockbuild_2013_01_16_18_52-b00, the JVM Vendor is Oracle Corporation.
My tomcat configuration needs to be done in '/etc/tomcat6/tomcat6.conf'
I installed the APM Agent in the path '/opt/apm/' with the rights  40755 (root/root). The files have the following rights:
    -rw-rw-r-- 1 root tomcat  32046 Mar  3 15:38 apm_facade.jar
    -rw-rw-r-- 1 root tomcat 244819 Mar  3 15:38 apm_monitor.jar

The above rights are equal to the /etc/tomcat6 directory with the tomcat configuration files.
In the tomcat6.conf I have added the following entries:
