PI Timestamp incorrect in java stack

Dear All,
In the java stack-> runtime workbench  (Communication Channel Monitoring) the logs time stamp shows 1 hour back…..
Whereas the same message log timestamp when checked in the abap stack shows the correct time.
All the default java logs which are shown in NWA(Monitoring -> Logs and traces) are also having a correct time stamp.
Below is the enviorment.
OS: Win 2003 x64
SAP PI 7.0 64 bit (SP12)
MSSQL 2005 64bit (build 9.0.3228)
JDK 1.4.2_17-x64
Please help asap.
Thanks in advance.

Hi
We have faced similar problem. We have applied note 919538 and resolved the same problem. We did following steps
1. Download the TZ_2008_V06.zip attachment locally
2. Execute program TZCUSTIM in SE30
3. Enter the path of the .dat file from the SAP note. This process should be done in every client.
4. Verify the new entry for the USA DST rule in transaction SPRO for Time Zones
5. A system restart is must
I am not sure if there is any other problem with the timestamps.
Thanks
Sai

  • System time for Java Stack and ABAP Stack of PI

    HI,
We have a scenario in which we have a synchronous flow of data. In the forward flow we have used field UZEIT in an RFC Lookup to register the inbound time and in the reverse flow we have used current time function of SAP PI mapping. PI time is the local time of the server, However UZEIT is 4 hours ahead compared to PI time.
Both the Java and the Abap stack are installed on the same server.
Kindly let us know the reason for the difference in time on both the stacks.
    Regards,
                Milan Thaker

    Hi,
Yes I am refering to the System->Status time in ABAP Stack. Could you please tell me where can I check the System time of JAVA stack. I got one XML file in UME which refers to some timestamp in com.sap.security.core.usermanagement but I failed to locate this field. Please let me know where can I find the Java stack time and how can that be synchronized with ABAP.
Also, is there any time zone settting in JAVA for UTC , the way we have in ABAP

  • Java stack and webservice

    Hello Experts,
We are just upgrading from 4.7 to ECC6. Now i want to consume a webservice in ABAP, but i have trouble configurating it. When I use the wizard to configure the consuming of a webservice I get the next error "Error when creating HTTP client: Destination:http://naat02.nl.enritec.com:547 Error:Incorrect value: Determination of destination http". I tried to use transaction SOAMANAGER to configure all but this transaction doesn't start (without error). When I use the 'old' transaction WSADMIN, I see that under 'Administration settings' an entry should be made for the J2EE Server. Does this imply that we need the java stack to use webservices?
    Can anybody help me?
    Grtz John

    Hello gordon,
Yes i can use LPCONFIG, but what should I enter there? I don't know what to enter there. I thought that using the wizard to consume a webservice automatically uses the correct settings.

  • Java Stack for Web Service in R/3

    Hello Friends,
I am developing a Web Service in R/3 server. Developed a RFC and converted it to Web Sevice.
My question is, is it necessarily required to have Java Stack in my server or will it be enough to have ABAP Stack.  My server doesn't have java stack installed. shall i be able to run my Web service with ABAP stack?
Please help me and give me some suggesions.
                            Kumar.

    Hi Kumar,
the above answer is simply incorrect.
You can certainly provide a web service from the ABAP stack without any need for a Java stack.
There are several blogs, and lots of forum posts, that discuss how to do this.
If you have indeed "Developed a RFC and converted it to Web Service" then you are away.
Use transaction SOAMANAGER ( or WSADMIN, WSCONFIG on earlier releases) to publish your webservice and away you go.
    Cheers

    Hi,
You are right, JSPM will not start with server0 down. And server0 will not come up with SAP JVM not updated.
Perhaps you could try a manual update of the SAP JVM as mentioned in the thread:
SAP EHP1 FOR SAP NW CE 7.1 -  java doesn't start after updating jvm
    Hope it helps.

  • Activate abap proxy withou java stack on ECC side

    Hi gurus,
Can we activate abap proxy on ECC side if the ECC don't hava java stack? As you know , we need to create two jco RFC provider in Visual Administrator, but without installing java stack, we can't do that.  Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

    Thanks all.
Solved by using program id of XI system in the RFC of application system.
But we still face the issue in SPROXY. It gave the error "No connection to Integration Builder ".
Then I runned connection test, and found SPROX_CHECK_IFR_ADDRESS and SPROX_CHECK_HTTP_COMMUNICATION
are  right, but SPROX_CHECK_IFR_RESPONSE and SPROX_CHECK_IFR_CONNECTION are giving the error "Integration Builder data not understood". Any ideas?

  • Portal with a URL using a Web browser in java stack

    Dear all,
I can access the portal with our URL using a Web browser from your client machines .
i got the following option :
    SAP Library
SAP Library contains the complete documentation for SAP Web Application Server.
    Web Services Navigator
Web Services Navigator is a tool that gives you a short overview of a specific Web service based on its WSDL, and enables you to test your Web service by creating and sending a client request to the real end point.
    System Information
System information provides administrators with an overview of the system configuration and its state. It shows all of the system's instances and processes, their current state and important parameters (such as ports) that may be required for support cases, as well as the versions of the components installed.
    UDDI Client
The UDDI client provides query and publishing functions for different Web service entities (tModels, business services) to any UDDI compliant registry.
    User Management
The user management administration console provides administrators with the functions they need to manage users, groups, roles, and user-related data in the User Management Engine (UME). Users without administrator permissions can use it to change their user profile.
    Web Dynpro
Web Dynpro is a User Interface technology available within the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.
Various Web Dynpro tools provide administrators and application developers with performance measurement and application administration capabilities. The Web Dynpro runtime is already deployed.
    SAP NetWeaver Administrator
A tool for administration and monitoring, offering a central entry point to the whole SAP NetWeaver system landscape. The SAP NetWeaver Administrator can be used in a central scenario where it is capable of operating an entire system landscape containing ABAP and Java systems as the application platform of SAP NetWeaver.
    J2EE Engine Examples
This section contains several J2EE application examples that run on the J2EE Engine. The examples show some of the functions of both Java and the J2EE Engine. They can be easily deployed and tested by simply clicking on a button. The full source code of the examples is also available.
    when i click System Information:
it ask user name () J2EE_ADMINand password (Installtion master password) ,after entered , i got below error .
You are not authorized to view the requested resource.
      Details:   No details available
    Kindly suggest .

    Hello
It means what it sais, your J2EE_ADMIN user doesn't have enough authorization.
Chech if the appropriate authorization is assigned in your abap stack which belongs to the java stack you logon to:
Role SAP_J2EE_ADMIN should be assigned to user J2EE_ADMIN.
    Kind regards

  • Java Stack mandatory for a SAP BI system integrated with EP?

    Hi Guru's,
Currently we are using SAP NetWeaver 2004 s version 7.0 system for our BI.
This is integrated with the EP. But our BI system does not contain the Java Stack installed.
When we work on WAD templates and execute  the template, it is automatically directed to EP portal where we can see our reports.
Here my question is do we need Java Stack for this system to use ADOBE DOCUMENT services or can it work with EP only for the web functionalities.
Any info on this is of great help.
    Best Regards
    Kumar

    HI Reddy,
We came to know from our basis team that we do not have the Java Stack installed in our BI 7.x system yet.
As it is integrated with EP which has Java, our web reports are working.
    1) But my question is still do we ned to install the Java Stack in our BI system as i do not find any Export to PDF option in EP for the reports (eventhough AS Java supports this).
    2) Or can we use the existing configuration without Java STack integrated to EP for the new tools like Report Designer and Integrated Planning?
    Regards

Edited by: Ganga on Jan 22, 2010 7:18 AM

The short answer is yes, you need Java stack to use most of BI 7.0 tools. However, you do not need Java Stack  for Bex Analyzer and Query designer with one exception, you need Java stack if you want to execute the query from the query designer by using execute button. Please refer to below link.

Good morning and thank you in advance for your help.
    The question is:
our environment includes windows domain with Active Directory, ECC 6.0 ABAP (DEV, QAS, PROD), BW 7.0 (DEV, QAS, PROD) only ABAP stack.
I would like to know if we can enable SSO using only this configuration without introducing EP or Java stack.

    Hi Willi,
It won't be that easy to understand each other... as my english is not that good either
Most of the points introduced in the SAP help link are automatically performed by sapinst.
Almost all my customers running on MS are not using an AV, and neither get into troubles...
but no user ever connect on the SAP server, only admin, for maintenance purpose or SAP admin when needed...
Internet explorer should not be used on a sever, MS itself says it should be uninstalled...

    10. Do Not Install SAPGUI on SAP Servers
Windows Servers have the ability to run many desktop PC applications such as SAPGUI and Internet Explorer however it is strongly recommended not to install this software on SAP servers, particularly production servers.
To improve reliability of an operating system it is recommended to install as few software packages as possible.  This will not only improve reliability and performance, but will also make debugging any issues considerably simpler
“A server is a server, a PC is a PC”.  Customers are encouraged to restrict access to production servers by implementing Server Hardening Procedure.
SAP Servers should not be used as administration consoles and there should be no need to directly connect to a server. Almost all administration can be done remotely
SAP on SQL General Update for Customers & Partners September 2013
Internet Explorer (and any other non-essential software) should always be removed from every SAP DB or Application server.
The following command line removes IE from Windows 2008 R2, Windows 2012 and Windows 2012 R2:
Open command prompt as an Administrator ->  dism /online /Disable-Feature /FeatureName:Internet-Explorer-Optional-amd64

  • BI Java stack instalaltion

    Dear Gurus,
We are going for Netweaver 7.0 EHP1  BW-BO implementation. We are going to install the seperate instances for the abap and java  for the BW landscape . We are going to install DEV abap and java on the same host.
    Abap stack is installed.
while going throug the installation,I have two questions
    1) Installation of Database instance (Java Stack)  in the existing Database instace (Abap Stack). Or Go with the different database for the Java stack.
2)In the installation phase it will ask for the User management Engine configuration.
       a) Java engine ( if i go with this option how the abap and java will have communication)
       b) Abap (communication happens between abap and java using rfc connections)
    Go with which option.
i will go with the opton java engine. How make the communication between abap and java. Pleae reply soon.
    Reagards,
    MNA

    Hi,
    > 1) Installation of Database instance (Java Stack)  in the existing Database instace (Abap Stack). Or Go with the different >database for the Java stack.
I will recommend to have different database for your Java system. Because if you will take same database then it will be MCOD installation. And MCOD has a lot of limitations like if your ABAP system is down then Java will also be down and performance problem etc.
    > 2)In the installation phase it will ask for the User management Engine configuration.
    >    a) Java engine ( if i go with this option how the abap and java will have communication)
    >    b) Abap (communication happens between abap and java using rfc connections)
If you will take UME of your java system as Java system only. Then ABAP and Java system will communicate with JCO RFC. I will go with option a if there are no constraints.
If UME will be ABAP system then also communication will be through RFC only.
    Thanks

  • JAVA Stack installation's method for BI 7.0 (Netweaver 04s)

    Hello!
We plan to upgrade our BW 3.5 (without java stack) to BI 7.0 which need a java stack installation.
In this case we have, first, to upgrade the abap stack and then we have to install the  java stack .
There are 3 possibilities to install the java stack : as java-addin in the same database that the abap stack , or as the recommanded
SAP 'method i.e. a java installation with its own  database , that means another instance , and I think a new license to buy.
The third method is a second server to support the java stack with its own database (separate instance).
I don't understand why the second and third methods are recommanded , rather than the first.
Is it related to the SAP  Enterprise Portal  ??; (we don't use it at the moment) , or for other reasons?? Thanks..

In the event of double-stack or shared installations, ABAP and JAVA compete for main memory and CPU resources. Since BI 7.0 is resource intensive, it is advisable to install AS-Java on a different machine.

  • ADS service (XMLForm.exe) Utilizes 30 to 40 % of Java Stack CPU

We are currently on ECC 6 and EP 7.0; we have started using ADS service (Generating buld PDF forms) and we are noticing that it utilizes upto 30% of CPU on the Java stack.
One thing to inform is that we are using the same Java Stack for Portal, BI and R/3.
30% of CPU seems abnormal to me (At the peak of its usage the Portal Performance goes down).
Will this issue get solved if we use a dedicated Java Stack for R/3? Your Thoughts Please.

    Deepak

SAP recommends very accurate (I better say pessimistic) sizing for server running productive ADS.
The best approach is to use standalone server for productive ADS usage.
IMHO, in that case you still can use the same ADS for productive, quality and even development usage.

  • Information Broadcaster Utilizes 60 to 90 % of Java Stack CPU

We are currently on BI 7.0 and EP7.0; we have started using Information Broadcaster and we are noticing that it utilizes 60 to 90% of CPU on the Java stack.
One thing to inform is that we are using the same Java Stack for Portal, BI and R/3.
90% of CPU seems abnormal to me (At the peak of its usage the Portal Performance goes down).
Will this issue get solved if we use a dedicated Java Stack for BI? Thoughts Please.

    Deepak,
We too facing the same problem.
After proper analyzation our experts decided to go for a dedicated Java Stack for BI to increase the performance.
