PI2.0 and Nexus 7004

Hi,
I´ve added two Nexus 7004 chassis (SUP2) to PI2.0, but they`re shown as unsupported devices. I´ve checked the supported device list and in fact there is no support for the 7004 chassis, but all the other chassis (7009, 7010, 7018) are on the list.
Does anyone know when the 7004 Chassis will be supported (maybe with an update patch or with PI2.1)?
Thanks, Florian

Hi Florian,
An Enhancement request has already been raised for this device support.
CSCul38567    Add support for nexus 7004 to PI
Not sure if it will be supported in PI 2.1
Thanks-

The module you are running requires a minimum software version of 5.1.
You are currently running 5.0.3 which is why the module is not

    Hi Martin,
At this point in time the N2K-B22-HP FEX is not supported with the Nexus 7000 series switches as the parent switch. If you look at Table 2 in the Cisco Nexus B22 Blade Fabric Extender Data Sheet you'll see it only lists the following:
Cisco Nexus parent switch model or line card
Cisco Nexus 5010 or 5020 Switch for Cisco Nexus B22HP and B22F
    Cisco Nexus 5548P Switch
    Cisco Nexus 5548UP Switch

I have Moto G 2nd Gen and Nexus 4 device with latest Android 5.0.2. I donwloaded Skype on both devices yesterday and installed them. Then I opened two new skype accounts and tried making a call from one device to other. My wife was on the other device. Neither a normal call or a video call was going. Skype wasnt connecting at all. The phone from where I was making call was ringing but not the phone receiving call. Can somebody please help.

Unfortunately the truth is prepaid support is not very well trained and was
    not much help
My issue was solved ultimately not by prepaid support but upper level
support in NJ (or NY, not sure).
The problem was that my line was provisioned as having a 1X device (which I
never had). So even though we tried switching the device to an iPhone and
reprogramming it didn't matter. Any incoming MMS were simply discarded by
the system and all I would get were the silent SMS messages that ping my
phone to check the MMS server, but nothing was held to be retrieved.
If you are on VZW (pre or post paid) and having this problem, ask support
to check the "Mobile Type" and ensure its not set to 1X.

  • Adapter-fex Supported VICs and Nexus Switches

    HI,
I am thinking of using C220M4 in standalone mode. I have been reading about adapter-fex and I am wondering which Cisco VIC supports adapter-fex and which Nexus Switch will support adapter-fex.
I am thinking of using a VIC1225 and Nexus 3000.
    Thanks.

I believe that adaptor fex is supported only with Nexus 5k and N2k:

  • Aaa New format configuation on IOS and Nexus-OS based devices ?

    Dear all,
I have been working on an assignment to get our TACACs servers  standardized and to change the old format  aaa configs to the new  standard before the old format gets deprecated.
I have many multiple IOS based model devices such as 2350, 2821,  3650,   Firewalls, Nexus based 3048s 3064s  and 7010s
However,   I have tried the new format on both the IOS based 2350s and also on  the Nexus based 3048s which has error on both cases
our plan is to move to the new style of aaa configuration and at  least to have one standard format configuration for IOS based devices  and one other standard format for Nexus based devices.
•Our tacacs appliances are crashing on AD authentication on a fairly  regular basis. And I was wondering as to where to get resource on  Cisco.com to see if we are on the latest version. Can you point me  resource where I can find the latest version so that I will be able to  compare it with what we have
Also if you have a forum recommendation for me to get help on this and other related staff that will be a huge help.
probably we might need to upgrade our IOS for example the below new  aaa config format didn’t work?  when I tried it on 2350 based on  flash:/c2350-lanlite-mz.122-46.EY/c2350-lanlite-mz.122-46 version any  suggestion here?
I have attached the sample config I have been trying to use-- If you have a better configuration suggestion let me know? Thanks a million for the help!

Yes, the focus with ML is certainly on trying to get people who have iOS devices to switch to using Apple computers.
For long-time devotees of OS X like us, there's not much in it. Snow Leopard was still a far more versatile and more widely compatible OS than either 10.7 or 10.8. If you're on 10.6.8. I would think twice about upgrading.
However, I think if you're on 10.7 already, it's worth upgrading to 10.8, simply because ML seems to be more stable and more refined. They have fixed some of the annoying things in Lion (like you can now put Devices back to the top of the Finder sidebar, Resume is turned off by default, 'Save As' has been resurrected, Launchpad actually has a filter bar etc etc.). Some of the apps are better too - some nice new features in Preview for editing and Safari has an all-in-one address/search bar).
More features are advertised explained here: http://www.apple.com/osx/whats-new/features.html

  • Please tell me how to connect with FCoE UCS-mini and Nexus N5k (N5K-C5548UP-B-S32)

I have UCS 5108 Blade Server Chassis (with two B200 M3 Blade Servers inside and two FI 6324) connected to Nexus N5k switch through 4x10GE links.
I want to configure the two aggregated channels FCoE (vFC) from chassi to switch.
All instructions I've been seen refer to the fact that UCS-mini must be in the FC end-host mode, but UCSM 3.0 version does not support this mode, what shoud I do?
I set up following the instructions www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/switches/nexus-5000-series-switches/116248-configure-fcoe-00.html
    But, after setup I have a fault on fabric: FCoE or FC uplink is down on Vsan 500;
And in Nexus: Vsan 500 is down (waiting for flogi)
When I do "show interface vfc 1" from Nexus CLI I see no 'Trunk vsans (up)', but
    'Trunk vsans (initializing)             (500)'
Unfortunately, I can't find technical notes for UCS mini (with UCSM v. 3.0), so may be You can promt any guides or suggestion for this?
    Thank You in advance!

  • Management Tool to manage both Catalyst and Nexus

Is there a single network management tool to manage both Nexus and Catalyst at the same time?

Oracle does not provide any tool for altering the contents on an existing dmp file.
What you probably should do is filter the data prior to extraction. There are actually third party tools to do this such as Priceton Softtech had such a tool which IBM bought the company to get. It would extract data into files and then manipulate the table column data while maintaining the PK to FK relationships. That is if it changed the value of a PK it would update all the FK that pointed to the old value to point to the new value.
Naturally, you can do this yourself.
You could define a set of manipulation tables, insert/select the data, manipulate it, then export and import the data from these tables.
Filtering can be fairly simple or pretty complex depending on the number of objects involved, the amount of data, and the number of sensitive columns.

  • Prime Infrastructure 2.0 and Nexus 5548, SSH credentials fail

    Hi,
I'm having problem getting the Prime Infrastructure 2.0 to login with SSH to a Nexus 5548 to do an inventory. I get "Wrong Telnet/SSH credentials". But when I use the same credentials from another SSH-client it works fine. I also tested to SSH from the console of the Prime-server and that also works fine.
    Any ideas???

  • Local Camera instance unusable in Android 4.x (Galax S3 and Nexus 7)

I'm working on an app that supports simple video conferencing through FMS.  The app creates one video on my AIR View and attaches the camera to it, and creates a second video and attaches the incoming stream to it.  All in all, it's worked quite well.
That was, until I tired it on a Nexus 7 running Android 4.1.2 and AIR 3.5.60.  The video from the camera appears, but the quality is terrifically awful, and I can see three or four copies of the image overlaid each other.  I wrote this off as a Nexus issue. That was, until I tried it on a Galaxy S3 running Android 4.0.4 and AIR 3.5.0.60.  The result is the samed ghosting mess.
I developed a tiny little app to demonstrate the problem (the source code is below). It's nothing more than an AIR app and the camera+video object placed on a single view. Here's how it looks on the Galaxy S3:
You can roughly make out my face three+ times.  On my myTouch 4G, the video looks perfect (no ghosting, no lines, just normal video).
I'd love for this to be some egregious issue with my code.  But, failing that I'm guessing it's an Adroid 4.x issue.  I searched the discussion area, but wasn't able to find anyone else having this issue. I do apologize if I'm missing something obvious and this is a well known problem.
I'd love a fix. I'd love to at least know this is a known issue.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ben

  • DCBX Between Linux and Nexus QOS

    Hi Guys
i have a server with 2 physical links only.
over this link im passing 2 vlans in trunk ( can be Portchannel to VPC or bond active passive , doesnt matter to me ) .
    vlan 302 is for data
    vlan 303 is for backup
server on vlan 303 is pushing traffic on that link and would take as much
bandwidth as we would give it , and would therefore cause communication issues to vlan 302 . ( congestion ) .
I would like to talk about my options here , to avoid congestions .
thought about enabling dcbx on clients ( linux ) and pfc ( priority flow
control ) to be able to negotiate qos and bw allocation according to COS IEEE 802.1p .
the idea is to have either the traffic prioritized/limit/shaped before/when its ingressing the nexus port .
the dcbx looks very cool like i said , it's kind of like what the nexus has with the CNA Card .
when it can send the linux nic through dcbx the qos parameters to apply ! ( ah ok , i see now its exactly the same )
ps linux dcbx link : http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/precise/man8/dcbtool.8.html
    Ingress Queuing Policies
You can associate an ingress policy map with an Ethernet interface to guarantee bandwidth for the specified traffic class or to specify a priority queue.
The ingress policy is applied in the adapter to all outgoing traffic that matches the specified CoS value.
When you configure an ingress policy for an interface, the switch sends the configuration data to the adapter. If the adapter does not support the DCBX protocol or the ingress policy type-length-value (TLV), the ingress policy configuration is ignored.
did anyone here tried it or implemented dcbx before ?
anyway id be happy to hear your wise and helpfull suggestions please
    Thanks Thanks !!!

Anatomy of RX packet counters on a Cisco Nexus 5548:
    Nexus5548# show int eth1/29

6387682660 unicast packets  1495485 multicast packets  164 broadcast packets

5146969 jumbo packets  0 storm suppression bytes
      * "input" = unicast + multicast + broadcast (all non-jumbo)
      * "jumbo" = frames sized 1519 bytes to the MTU bytes defined on the interface
      * "jumbo" frames are counted separately from non-jumbo ("input")
      * (unicast, multicast and broadcast "jumbo" frames appear to be rolled into the

  • Design question, UCS and Nexus 5k - FCP

    Hi,
I need some advice from (Mainly a Nexus person); I have drawn and attached the proposed solution (below).
I am designing a solution with 3 UCS chassis, Nexus 5K and 2X NetApp 3240 (T1 and T2). FC will be used to access disk on the SAN. Also, Non UCS compute will need access to the T2 SAN only. (UCS will access T1 and T2). It is a requirement for this solution that non UCS devices do not connect to the same Nexus switches that the UCS chassis use.
    UCS Compute:
the 3 X chassis will connect to 2 X 6296 FIs which will cross connect to the a 2 X Nexus 5K through a FC port channel, the Nexus 5Ks will be configured in NPIV mode to provide access to the SAN. FC from each Nexus 5K to the NetApp controllers will be provided through a total of 4 X FC Port Channels (2 FC member ports per PC) from each nexus 5K one going to controller A and the other to controller B.
    Non UCS compute:
These will connect directly through their HBAs to their own Nexus 5Ks and then to the T2 SAN, these will be zoned to never have access to the T1 SAN.
    Questions:
1-      As the UCS compute will need to have access to the T1, what is the best way to connect the Nexus 5Ks on the LHS in the image below to the Nexus on the RHS (This should be FC connection).
2-      Can fiber channel be configured in a vPC domain as Ethernet? Is this a better way for this solution?
3-      Is FC better than FCoE for this solution? I hear FCoE is still not highly recommended.
4-      Each NetApp controller is only capable of pushing 20GBps max, this is why each port channel connecting to each controller is only 2 members. However, I’m connecting 4 port channel members from each Fabric Interconnect (6296) to each Nexus switch. Is this a waste? Remember that connectivity form each FI is also required to the T2 SAN.

    Max,
What you are implementing is traditional FlexPod design with slight variations.
I recommend to look at FlexPod design zone for some additional material if you have not done so yet.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/solutions/ns340/ns414/ns742/ns743/ns1050/landing_flexpod.html
    To answer your questions:
    1) FC and FCoE do not support vPC. If UCS needs to have access to T1, then there is no need to have ISL between sites. If UCS needs to have access to T1 and T2, then best option would be to set up VSAN trunking on N5K and UCS and configure vHBAs accordingly.
    2) Both should work just fine. If you go with FCoE, then UCS would need to be on the latest version for multi-hop FCoE support.
    3) If you only worried about storage throughput then yes, you will never utilize 40Gb PO if your source will be 20Gb PO. What are your projected peak and average loads on this network?

  • VPC between server and nexus switches

    Hi all,
I would like to ask following question:
We are using virtual portchannels to connect e.g. ESXi-Servers with trunks on two Nexus switches. When the switch "rz2sw1" has gone faulty, we expect that the trunk connections between switch rz2sw2  would still work. That's the reason why they are built. But they didn't as you can see in the screenshot (attaced) former mail.
Do you know what can be problem.. thank you

It appears that the peer-link was down.  If the peer-link is down and the keep-alive is still up, the secondary device will shutdown all of it's VPC links to ensure dual active (split brain) is avoided.
On a Nexus 7000, its recommended to use a front panel (data port) for the keep-alive instead of the management port.  My assumption would be that you are using the MGMT0 for keep-alive and all front panel ports went off-line.  If you use a front panel port for keep-alive and all line cards go off line on the primary, the secondary will take over as expected.
