PI7.0 INSTALLATION

Hi
While configuring POST INSTALLATION ACTIVITIES.I tried to open the "go.bat" and "configtool.bat " files to start the J2EE VISUAL ADMINISTRATION but getting an error shown in below:

Help me how to resolve the above error.

Hi Srikanth,
It seems you have setup wrong value in JAVA_HOME variable.
Set JAVA_HOME as C:\j2sdk1.4.2_16 NOT C:\j2sdk1.4.2_16; (Remove ; )

I have tried to run net weaver initial setup with the help of configuration wizard we are facing given following problem .
During 60% of instatllation I have got error u201CChoose a password that is different from your last 5 passwordsu201D I have changed it in ABAP side but still getting same error
When I skip this step then second error
: Choose a password that is different from your last 5 passwords 'PI_JCO_RFC'

RFC_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE: Password logon no longer possible - too many failed attempts
Is it any way to change all standard user(i.e. created during installation ) like PI*, password in one shot in both ABAP side and JAVA side .

CE Installation Vs AS Java on PI7.1 ??

We want to use NW BPM & BRM Capabilities. I understand that these capabilities come with CE7.1 & CE7.1 is AS Java 7.1.
PI7.1 has also AS JAva 7.1. Hence can i use PI's AS Java server to run my BPM or would the rumtime compain anything like about missing .sda's or runtime not for BPM/BRM not available?? I used to develop & deploy Java WD apps to PI server & they always ran perfect... No complains...
What additional components should i deploy on AS Java 7.1 to make it run NW-BPM/BRM scenario's.. We just don't want to have too many AS Java App servers in our SANDBOX landscape.

I have found anwer to my Question... Plain AS Java Dosen't come with "Additional Capabilities" that are provided by CE Environment... "CE Installation Master Guide" - Pages 8-10 have the answer to the above Question...
Also BPM/BRM capabilities are provided as part of CE 7.1 EhP1 or CE 7.1.1...

Hi Jan - Something is not clear..I don't think you can install PI 7.1 from net weaver 7.4.
For PI 7.1 you have separate installation media which is not part of net weaver bundle..
Incase you are planning to install PI 7.4(part of net weaver bundle) then have a look at the below document

Hi raj,
For PI installation. In that list you select the netweaver 2004s >type as ABAp and JAVA> then in the componet list or usage type list please select the Process integration (PI). Then proceed further.

About PI7.0 installation

Hi all,
recently I did pre installation and post installation . I have done one sample file to file scenario but when I put the file in the server it is picked but output file is not generated.
and in SXMB_MONI it was showing this message <b> No messages available for selection </b> .
And I was checked in Message Monitoring it was showing an error
<b> Error Category XI_J2EE_MESSAGING_SYSTEM </b>.
can any one slove my issue....

Hi,
Check whether you have any error in the sender communication channel error.
Try to test the scenario first in the integration directory by following the path Tools--> Test configuration where you can test the scenario by providing the payload and the service and the interafce details.
If this works then try to test the scenario by droping the file in the respective directory.
Also check whether the source and the target datatypes match with each other.

Error during installation of PI7.0 in Step 4

Dear all,
While installing P1 7.0 , Under Step 4 (Execute Service) I have encountered an error stating.
"Cannot create
hostname\sapmnt" directory,
The other lines in the log say..
can't create parent node.
n/w location cannot be reached.
sys.lib.filesystem.nodecreationfailed
Please help me resolve this error.

PI 7.1 with EHP1 installation interruption

Hi Friends,
I am trying to install PI 7.1 including EHP1 on Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition x64 and Oracle 10.2 Enterprise Edition.
I am able to install the ABAP stack without any problems successfully. But during the AS JAVA installation, at the Oracle Database screen in SAPInst, I enter the passwords for SAPSR3 & SAPSR3DB and when I click NEXT, I get
" The DB Home folder D:\oracle\PI7\102\db_1 has not the correct DB Server version 102. Select a different DB Home folder or install the correct database server software. "
The message of sapinst.log - System call failed. Error 1816 (Not enough quota is available to process this command).
This is a surprise as I have 22 GB of swap space.
The messages of sapinst_dev.log -

Nothing wrong. Use sapserver.cmd.
The way is:
- install the Oracle software delivered on DVD
- install the latest patch (10.2.0.4)
- install the latest interim patch for 10.2.0.4
THEN start sapinst.
The sapinst installation procedure will install/configure the Oracleservice<SID> and the listener.

ABAP Proxy without SOAP adapter in PI7.3

Hi All,
We have dual stack implementation of PI7.3 but we do not wish to use the SOAP adapter for configuring an ABAP proxy scenario.
Is this possible? Is the Javastack only configuration in NW Admin available for use in dual stack implementation also?

So it essetially means that only the below 2 options are available for ABAP proxy scenarios in PI7.3 for a ABAP+Javastack installation
- use of SOAP adapter over XI protocol
- use of conventional proxy configuration of the ABAP Integration Server
And the only Javastack config cannot be used for a dual stack implementation.
Please confirm if above is correct.

I dont know abt your installation whether you have java stack alone or both java stack and abap stack.
AAE or local processing:
You can do using soap adapter as transport protocol and message protocol as XI for proxy. This way you can use local processing using AAE. I dont see documents in SDN as of now. But it is pretty simple. Just follow the steps what I mentioned.
Classical processing or abap engine:
Still the same as previous versions.

Hello Gurus,
I need some information about settingup dialog instance for our PI7.0. What is the installation procedure and what needs to be configured on ABAP and JAVA stacks?
Also, if we need to setup different clients on PI, how can I do the client configuration in JAVA. As you all know that there are few places where we need to specify the client using J2EE admin. Here you can specify only one client. What do we need to if we use more than one client.
