Can i know which is correct?
Business system / business service = Communicaiton component
bussiness service = Bussiness component

Hi Raja,
In XI 3.0 or 7.0 we call business service, in PI 7.1 we call the same component as Business component.
In XI 3.0 or 7.0 we call business system, in PI 7.1 we call the same component as Communication component.

Hi Winston,
Goto Administration in /rep.
Click on Java Web Start Administration - > Re-initialization and force-signing
Then try to open the IR and ID. This should work.
If it does not work then, do the following and paste the log.
Goto Control Panel - > Java -> Advanced->Java Console-> Show Console.
Then try to start the IR and ID.
You will get the error log.

Conection Business and SAP PI 7.1

I want to consume a SAP PI web service with Business Object, I don't know if I can do that kind of conection ? and If someone give me a .XSD example to do it.

My PI 7.1 host name is pi7server , and the DBSID = PI7 and SAPSID=PI7.
I was wanting this option " The installation of an additional SAP system in an existing database"
when you say , install two DB software , do you mean that I install the ORACLE 10 software again or just have the SAPSID=EC6 but DBSID as PI7.
I have 8 GB RAM and adequate disk space, would it be sufficient, I am not a BASIS person and nor am I looking for a high efficiency system , it would be mainly for sandboxing/testing PI 7.1 with ECC.
where would i find more detailed instructions for this kind of installation.

Sap ECC6.0 Training Administration BET and BE terminology

Can anyone help with the following?
With ECC 6.0, SAP has changed the terminology of "Business Event Type" to "Course Type", and "Business Event" to "Course". However, our business processes refer to them as "Course" and "Class". If the terminology in SAP is going to change anyway, the business would prefer to call them what they are....."Business Event Type" = "Course" and "Business Event" = "Class". We need to investigate the configuration options to see if SAP will allow us to make this change (and make it consistently & thoroughly throughout the system)

Steps for SXMB_MONI error message monitoring in CEN

Hi All,
I am not able to see the Exchange Infrastructure Monitor Template in RZ20! I have seen the same in PI7 and CEN (Solution Manager) system as well. The Central System monitoring for PI system is configured and working fine!
Please help as I want to monitor the SXMB_MONI messages on The CEN System!

Hi Nallam,
The structure is simple like 300 nodes for items after mapping and these are to be inserted in to SAP tables using RFC. But in the Adapter engine enteries found were 250.
The same message when sent again worked fine but we have to find the root cause of the error.

Error when using JDBC drivers

We have successfully deployed the JDBC drivers but in RWB(Communication channel monitoring) ,when executing we are getting an error
Received XI System Error. ErrorCode: EXCHANGE_PROFILE_ACCESS ErrorText:   ErrorStack: Error while reading exchange profile for system PI7 and client 001

Hi..
I did it but here i am wondering becoz my RFC connection SAPSLDAPI works fine
But at transaction SLDCHECK..it throws an error like
Calling function LCR_LIST_BUSINESS_SYSTEMS
Retrieving data from the SLD server...
Function call returned exception code     4
=> Check whether the SLD is running!
Summary: Connection to SLD does not work
=> Check SLD function and configurations
But the SLD URL pops up and opens wih put any error.in a same fashion,it happens in SXMB_ADM--> integration engine config.it says connections to SLD doesnot work
any idea to verify

Is there a way I can monitor errors reported in SXMB_MONI through RZ20?

Uninstalling sapinst software

Hi,
        While installing pi7.0, we installed choose service, define parameters, check parameters, but got an error in execute service. So want to uninstall this sapinst, but unable to uninstall this ssapinst, so can anyone tell how to uninstall this software.

       It was already installed upto "check parameters"but error getting error in "execute server",
      here the following error it is showing for me,
" The Solution Manager key '1AC7C06E96' is not valid. Enter the correct key for host 'mcityserv4', the SAP system ID 'PI7' and the central instance number '00'. "
So want to reinstall sapinst but we r not getting how to uninstall it.

Problem with MESSAGE ID

Hi,
I installed server PI7 and i done my sample scenario filetofile.It is working successfully,but the problem is first time it is showing success in SXMB_MONI, if u keep the same file in the server again and again those r not showing in the SXMB_Moni.
In the server the input file was not deleting and every scenario r showing in the same MESSAGE ID.
Can u help on this.

Hi !
Try to use Runtime Workbench to see if they are really several messages or just one. Check the sender file communication channel via RWB to see the log and watch the message id that the channel assigns to the messages that is creating each time it finds the input file.

What is the difference between SAP NW PI7.1 and PI7.1 EHP1

We have a customer using SAP PI7.1 EHP1. The application to be deployed
isdeveloped on SAP Netweaver PI 7.1 SP06.
We need to know if application developed and transported from PI7.1 is
compatible with EHP1?
Below are the Components used by the application .
1) SSL communication using SOAP adapter
2) Java mapping , Graphical mapping , XSLT mapping
3) Customised EJB modules
4) Adapter framework
5) ALE layer for IDoc communication from ERP to PI

1. What is the difference between JMS MQ and Native MQ? How to determine which one to use?Native MQ refers to a proprietary api provided by IBM in multiple languages including java so that applications running on these can communicate mq. IBM also provides JMS wrappers around this native api, so that a jms client can talk to mq using JMS API. This is called MQ JMS.
2. If native MQ can be used here, what are the steps to configure Native MQ on WLS in my situation?SOA suite provides a MQ Resource Adaptor which can be used to connect to MQ. The developers of this resource adapter would have used the native api to enable the adaptor to talk to MQ, so that you dont have to worry about it. However you will need to configure the properties of your local MQ ( qmgr , q name etc). This is done in the outbound connection pool properties of the resource adaptor.

1.All new features for XI 7.0 are almost same as for XI 3.0 at least till SPS 19.
Some differences are as follows:
Adapter Enhancements like JMS, JDBC, Oracle-JDBC and CIDX Enhancements
New Conversion Agent,

Multi mapping
User defined enhancements
Unbounded Processes (Integration Processes).
2. One more difference is the ABAP stack (which is 7.0 and not 6.40) but from the developer point of view there is nothing new.

4. For each SP in XI3.0 there is a corresponding SP being released for PI (XI 7.0). A comparison of the service packs in 2004 and 2004s:

There is not much difference between XI 3.0 with latest Service Pack i.e. 20 or 21 and PI 7.0
The main difference between 3.0 and 7.0 is the GUI in SLD. But, it is pretty easy to adopt. All other components, e.g. IR, ID, RWB, should virtually be identical.
7.0 also contain some SCM contents not available from 3.0. For most of us, this is a non-issue.
In 7.0 we can schedule a background job and edit the payload.
XI3.0 is based on WAS(web application server)6.40 - NW2004

Currently SP 21 for XI 3.0 and SP12 for PI 7.0 is the latest one.

Convert EBCDIC to ASCII and ASCII to EBCDIC in PI7.0 SP14

Wea re going to be implementing PI7.0 SP14.
I am writing the technical specification for an inbound/outbound interface into/out of ECC 6.0!
I need to convert the File that is created out of SAP into EBCDIC in PI and for the inbound convert the file from EBCDIC into ASCII for import into ECC.
I have more than one way to this...
The ways I have found so far are:
Use MessageTransformBean, use TextCodepageConversionBean, XmlAnonymizerBean, using the File Encoding field on the File/FTP Adapter, XSLT mapping or Java mapping!
I have checked the OSS Note 821267, but this doesn't help.
I am sure all these methods have pros and cons...
What would be the most efficient method of changing this? It will be running hourly and have upto 6000 entries an hour - each way!

I think the most efficient way in my thinking is XSLT and Java mapping.
For java mapping u just need to get thye jar file.I believe that the encoding cp285 / cp500 is EBCIDIC. Try printing
byte [] msg = .. // whatever
System.out.println(new String(msg, "cp285"));
if you get an exception saying Cp285 is unknown you may need an international version of the JRE, depends on the version you're using.
Also u can use this in reverse.

PI7.11 - Still going thru Integration Engine and Can't find Receiver

Scenario:
ECC<-----SoapAdapter(Synch)> PI7.11 <JDBCAdapter(Synch)--
>OracleDatabase
Use of Local Processing required in this project.
I've successfully completed Design work and then completed Integrated Configuration (all those tabs, Inbound processing, Receiver, Receiver Interfaces, Outbound Processing look correct)
Then I did the ABAP backend communication on the ECC side
(SM59-RFC Destination to point to AAE,
then SXMIF - defined Sender Interface,
then sxmb_adm - IE Engine Config.-->Specific Config where I added IS_URL.
Ran my test from ECC. It is still going thru IE engine and cannot find receiver.
What am I doing wrong? Please advise...

I did.
In SXMSIF, I only created a sender ID (named it, RECONREPORT) where I
Left Agency and Schema blank
Party and Service: put *
Request - Put my Sender Interface and Sender namespace
Then in SXMB_ADM-->Specific config.
I created a new entry of
Catogery: Runtime
Parameters: IS_URL
Subparameter: I copied the text of Sender ID from SXMSIF and pasted it.
Current value: dest://AAE_PEH
on a different note, in SM59 I have
RFC Destination: AAE_PEH
Target host: put my java host
Service no: put my java port here.
