hello sir,
Model no of the pickering cards are 50-115-121/122 and 50-670-021-99/1. these are the cards. In this one is relay card and the other is multiplexer card. I programmed it through the drivers which are they provided in the website "pickeringtest.com". same drivers are provided in the driver cd.
I placed one palette for the initialization. In this resource name is there. By clicking on it one more palette will come,it says PXI::14:: like that. After finishing the programming I run the program. Then one error will show like "It will not work in this resource name" I tried with the link which sir you gave earlier. But it is not working ,same thing it is showing.
Please help me sir

    Hello
I am using only one PCI -6542 card. I want to use few channels for dynamic signal. These are control signals for the ADC. While the conversion is in progress I want to use remaining signals for switching relays for measurement.
    Application requirements are as follows.
Channel 0-14 are for dynamic genration for giving control signal to ADC.
Channel 15-31 are for static control bits for relays.
Requirement is pattern should be running continiously and parallely I shoud able to switch the ralay. It can be in any order and any seqence as per the demand.

  • Problem with KTV3 and PCI USB card extension from QTEC type 13068

    Hello all,
I have been trying to make work a PCI USB card extension from QTEC type 13068. This card allows to give 4 USB  ports more.
My problem is that oinly 2 ports are working and WINXP SP1 is saying that there are not enough ressources for all the PCI functions. However there is enough free IRQ. Even using this card alone on the mainboard give the same error.
I am using a KTV3 (MS-6712 VER:1.0A) and I have no idear why this is happening. Could it be a bad interaction between the BIOS and the card?  wall Or WIN XP? angryfire
All comments and ideas to try are welcome especially from those who have this QTEC card.
    Regards.

What operating system are you using?  The card requires SP1 for XP and SP4 for 2000.  If you have these, try to uninstal the cardl and let Windows reinstall the card on start-up.

  • Sound Blaster Live 24-bit PCI Sound Card and Creative Sound Blaster PCI Card not detect

Ok here is my problem. I bought a Creative Sound Blaster PCI sound card a while back and it was working fine but recently when I would boot up my computer and try to play music say off of Winamp it says Bad DirectSound Driver. When I check device manager it shows no sound card there and in sounds and audio devices it says no audio device. Now my brother believed this to be a card fault so we went to Frys and bought a Sound Blaster Li've 24-bit PCI card. I uninstalled the old drivers and installed this new one but yet it's the same problem. My assumption was that Windows XP had something conflicting so I reinstalled the OS. It found the card and I installed the latest drivers?off of this site but now it does the same thing yet again with a fresh install of Windows XP. The card has been in all 3 of my PCI slots and it will detect it for a moment but then acts like as if the card was never installed. Like I never installed a sound card into the computer. The onboard audio has been disabled for a while now but I do not know what the problem could be. I did Scan for hardware changes but it doesn't show up. Sometimes when the card is detected if I do scan for hardware changes and the card is there it will just magically disappear from the device manager as if it was never there. Even when I try to load music and I see the card is detected it will not play the music and ends up locking up Winamp to the point that sometimes will go BSOD. Now I would really like to find out what the issue is because I am planning this weekend to swap out my motherboard with a duplicate board to see if that will end up fixing the problem but I want to find out if there is any other way to fix this issue. Thank you.Message Edited by AuXoIs on 02-25-200808:28 PM

Hmm what other options is there for the bios on PCI slots? Also anything you connect to the motherboard can have oxidization (I think its that) build up on the connection. Check the connector on the card and get a eraser (Pen eraser is better) and give it a good cleaning. The connector might have alot of build-up on it and you can see it by a dark yellowy colour. I cleaned my graphics card and ram connectors after they got alot of the build-up on them. On a older computer my graphics stopped working and this fixed it. Also I went away for a while (like a month) and came back to see that my puter didn't display anything. Opened it up and saw that the graphic card had alot of corrosion? on the card connector and in the slot. Does that if you computer is turned of for a long time. Had a heck of time trying to clean the slot out. One other thing that it could be is the sound card is faulty. I had an audigy 2 and it died a while back . It picks it up and then try and use it computer freezes and the after restart it's not there anymore. Hope it's not that problem. Hope this gives you something to go by.

  • Is there example code for using Ni488 and PCI-GPIB card in non controller mode?

Is there example code for using Ni488 and PCI-GPIB card in non controller mode?

    cymrieg,
Your code looks good to me. What is the problem? What happens when it fails? What is the IBSTA value on the controller, and at what point in the code does it stop? What is the IBSTA value on the slave, and at what point does it stop?
One thing is that you might not want to call IBCLR() in a loop on the device. At the beginning of the program is fine...This will send a clear command to the device and will clear out any LACS and TACS bits that might be set. Also your IBDEV call shouldn't be in a loop.
Hope this helps, but let me know if you need more information.

  • Line connection between PCI-6527 card and instrument

Sorry for my foolish. My poor electronic knowledge prevent me from fully understanding what you explained in your last reply and need more help.
In fact, we plan to control two instrument switchs, one is for the Magnetic_Suspension_Control(MSC) , another is for control the Weight-changing-Device(WCD).
The instrument manufacturer provide a cable for the MSC and WCD. The cable looks as follows: there is one connection to the computer(25-pin subD-plug) of which two cables lead away, one to the MSC(6-pin Lemosa)and the other to the WCD(15-pin subD-plug).
The interface of the MSC is internally realized by using only two simple optocouples(OC). Their input-pins are connected directly to the 25-pin SubD-plug of
    cable as follwing:
    25-pol.SubD; meaning
    Pin 9 anode of OC1-LED
    Pin 7 anode of OC2-LED
    Pin 23 cathode of OC-LED
    Pin 18 cathode of OC-LED
Because of the optocouplers draw some current from the NI-card, the manufacturer let me make sure that the NI-card can source circa 7mA(better 10mA) on each pin.
The interface of the WCD consists of three simple TTL-level inputs, which are also directly connected to the 25-pin SubD-plug of our cable as following:
    25-pol.SubD; meaning
    Pin 4 TTL-Input (remote) (0-1V/3.5-5V)
    Pin 3 TTL-Input (weight 1) (0-1V/3.5-5V)
    Pin 2 TTL-Input (weight 2)(0-1V/3.5-5V)
    Pin 5 common ground
The current drawn by the TTL-inputs is not worth mentioning.
By controling the logic state of these above pin states through labview, I then can control the instrument switch.
Based on above information, how should I choose right resistor for achieving the suitable v
oltage and current on each pin and How should I connect line between PCI-6527 card and 25-pin sub-D plug(I plan to use port 3 of PCI-6527 card).
Thanks, your help is greatly appreciately

    Zhou,
My best recommendation is that you find someone who can give you a better and more direct advise in electronic circuiting. We don't have in our hands the manual of your instrument in order to clarify what it needs and where, although you gave some pin numbers we cannot take the risk of advising something that we don't have the absolute knowledge of. We can give you all the details you want about our card and what does it gives, but you have to decide how are you going to connect it to your instrument. If you recall your email about the manual, in fig. 3-6 page 3-12 you can see a picture of how to connect a TTL driven device, in the last email we gave you an option of how to connect the resistor and where, please read it again, basically I am going to repeat the same, we feel sorry about not been able to give you more help, but is opt to you to find help in electronic theory. Remember in my last email that I told you the 3 cases in which your instrument may need either voltage, current or both, and I told you how RL will change and what new resistors you may need to connect. Review that and make tests with your switch, your question about how to choose the right resistor is answered in the previous email and how to connect lines between the board and the cable of your instrument you have both pin outs... match them... the person who has in his hands the manual and the instrument is the best person to choose how to interfase both appliances... we are sorry Zhou but if we advise you about pin connections of your device with our blindness we have of your device we may make a mistake, we told you about our pins and how to choose resistors.
If you need more direct assistance on this Zhou you may better try to call us, by text messaging is limited and this requires direct guidance. If you decide to call us you can find instructions at www.ni.com/ask hope you move forward in your application as soon as possible.

  • Magma-box and DAQ PCI 6034E card

I had installed a magma-box (64-bit 2 Slot Series) on my laptop. And I installed NI-DAQ 7.1. Than I had plug the PCI-6034E card in the magma-box. My laptop identify the PCI-6034E daq card in the Device Manager; but with a yellow exclamation point and give the Error code 10 (Cannot start the device). The same used with the PCI-6377 card.
I have tried with the cards in the differend slots.

    Hey Wim,
I am not sure what a magma-box is. I have searched all over google and I haven't been able to find one. This brings up my next question of how you are installing a PCI-6034E and PCI-6377 on the laptop. National Instruments driver does not support this and I am pretty sure the DMA on the devices wouldn't work as well. The main difference between the PCMCIA devices National Instruments sell and the PCI devices is the DMA channels. If you need to use a laptop I would recommend purchasing the DAQCards or DAQPads that can connect to USB, Firewire, or PCMCIA slots. These devices are supported on laptops. The PCI devices are designed to work on desktop computers with standard PCI busses that allow for DMA channels and ISA based interrupts.
    I hope
    this helps out.

  • How do I configure my PCI-GPIB cards so that one is a controller and the other is a device being controlled by the first card

I have 2 PC's, both fitted with PCI-GPIB cards. One will be the system controller and the other will be a device on the GPIB bus. How do I configure both cards using LabWindows/CVI v7.0 to achieve this ? What commands are used to send and receive the data ?

    Hi Pete,
For the controller board you don't really need to do anything. By default the GPIB interface is configured as controller.
The non-controller can be configured in MAX. Right-click on the interface, uncheck the ono-controller box and change the primary address. It is usually a good idea to set these parameters programatically. Use ibpad to set the primary address and ibrsc to release system control.
For the controller you can use a device descriptor (using ibdev) or a board descriptor (ibfind).
You can only open a reference to the non-controller board using ibfind (ibfind("gpib0"), for example). This will open a board reference. You cannot use a device reference because that implies that the board is capable of addressing the bus. On
    ly the system controller can.
Here are some links I found on the web on this subject:
Passing GPIB Control -- System Controller vs. Controller In Charge
Tutorial: Programmatic File Transfers over the GPIB
Example: Using a C Program as a GPIB Non-Controller with LabVIEW as the GPIB Controller
Example: Serial Polling Between Two Computers (Controller and Non-controller)
    Hope this helps.

  • PCI video card replacement for PowerMac G3 (Blue and White)

Hi, I am new to this forum. I apologize if this issue has been addressed before, but I have been reading over the forum for the last 2 days and tried all the steps I could find. I have an old PowerMac G3 (Blue and White).
It used to run fine. I had a friend with a similar computer and he
needed a video card, so I gave him the one in my Mac G3, because I was not using it at the time.
Now, I have decided I want to use it. I am running into an issue with the video (It takes PCI), I get no display, but I can hear the hard drive spin, it lights up, I hear the Apple "ding".
I have about 6 PCI video cards laying around, and I have tried all of them, resetting the CUDA each time. Still cannot get a display.
I have tried different slots on the motherboard, checked the PRAM battery, (it was good). Tried booting off a live Linux CD for power PCs, tried the commandoption+pr until I hear the apple "ding" go off 2x, I have tried a different monitor and monitor cable.
Nothing seems to work, I need to know what I should try next.
Thank you for your help in this matter.

"I have about 6 PCI video cards laying around, and I have tried all of them, resetting the CUDA each time. Still cannot get a display."
If these graphics cards are designed for use in PCs, they won't work in your Mac. Compatible graphics cards must be programmed with a Mac ROM. Some "PC" cards can have their EEPROM chip flashed with a Mac ROM, provided that someone has extracted the particular Mac ROM code for the card in question. A web search will provide leads for that. If you just want a decent graphics card, go for a Radeon 7000 Mac Edition (2002 vintage card). If you check eBay, you should be able to find a flashed "PC" Radeon 7000 card. I'd try to get the one with 64 MBs of DDR memory, as opposed to the 32 MB model. If you don't mind spending more $$, you can find a more current PCI graphics card for your G3, like the Radeon 9200 at Other World Computing.

  • NI-PCI Profibus card and Comsoft

I'm using the NI-PCI Profibus card with COMSOFT Configurator II tool and GSD file for my level device (radar).
This NI-PCI Profibus card is configured master and my level device in slave.
I also use the Comsoft Labview "DFP2_DP-MasterExample.vi".
I communicate easily with my level device. I get information as the level and distance (cyclic communication, Block module=Analog input).
How can I do to get the other informations from my level device, the serial number of device, the software revision (acyclic communication) and programmatically change the profibus address ?
Normally, the software revision is in Physical block, index 8 and the serial number is in Physical block, index 12. But these data are not in GSD files.
Thank you, in advance for your help.

    Hi ggr,
From the cRIO side it sounds like you need a DPV1 connection. That should be possible and is explained on page 22 of the attached manual, which should also be in the start menu. Is that what you are looking for?
As to what command you need to send, if you have the technical manual for the device I think we can figure it out from that. Do you have a manual?

  • K9N Neo V3 : PCI-E and PCI-E x1/PCI VGA cards at the same time ?

    Hello,
I'm thinking about getting one more VGA card to resolve my dual screen issue :
    Quote
I use two monitors. PC monitor as first screen, TV is extended for watching videos.
    PC : Philips 220aw (22", 1680x1050 @ 60Hz) DVI-DVI
    TV : LG 42lh3000 (42", 1920x1080 @ 24Hz) DVI-HDMI
I've been trying to get smooth playback on the TV for days, but random stutter happens.
When a video (mostly HD contents) is played on the TV while using the PC monitor, things like minimize/maximize windows, page scrolls stutter and so does the video. Idle while watching videos also stutters randomly.
I tried almost every combinations of renderers/codecs/players, tried by desactivating aero and all the fancy graphics, but it didn't solve the problem.
The only way i get smooth playback on the TV, is by desactivating the PC monitor. (Using nVidia panel or "Win" key+P), so only the TV is active.
I tried with a Blu-Ray using DXVA and it was smooth.
I haven't got a chance to test with a better graphic card yet. This issue doesnt happen on XP though.
    Here are the specs :
    K9N Neo V3
    Athlon 64 x2 @ 3Ghz
    4Go DDR2-800
    8800 GT 512Mo (driver 197.45)
    Win7 Ultimate 32 Bits.
    Corsair 450W 80+
My question is : Can i add a PCI-E x1 or a PCI VGA card on this motherboard, so each screen will have its own VGA card ?
If so, both nVidia or ATI would work ?
    Thank you.

It would be one of these, if it is allowed by the K9N Neo V3.

  • Difference between PCI GPIB card 778-032 and 777158-04

    Hi,
A supplier is proposing me a software with a PCI GPIB card 777158-04.
As I already have a PCI GPIB card (reference 778-032), I'd like to know if this one would be suitable. The supplier can't give any guarantee as he hadn't tested this card.
Would could help me finding the difference between these 2 GPIB cards?

  • 64 channel 1450 Hz data logging with PCI-6033E card, on-line averaging and viewing the raw and averaged signal in CWGraphs.

I'm acquiring 64 channels at sampling rate of about 1450kHz continuously and showing the data second by second in a CWGraph. Now, I would like to add an on-line averaging for all of those 64 channels and show it in another CWGraph. The averaging should occur with respect of external trigger and the sample should consist of about 100ms prestimulus and 500ms poststimulus period. Has anybody been handling this sort of things? How it's solved with ComponentWorks and Visual Basic?
I'm using double Pentium 700MHz processors and NI-DAQ PCI-6033E card.

    1. To get started with external triggering check out the examples in the Triggering folder that install with CW under MeasurementStudio\VB\Samples\DAQ\Triggering.
    2. Create a prestimulus buffer that always contains the latest 100 ms of data. Just modify the CWAI1_AcquiredData event to transfer ScaledData (the data acquired) to your prestimulus buffer. See how there will always be a prestimulus buffer of data regardless of trigger state?
    3. On the trigger, you can use the same CWAI1_AcquiredData event to route the data into poststimulus buffer and average the 2.
    I see something like this:
    if no trigger
100 ms of data to prestimulus buffer
    if trigger
500 ms of data to poststimulus buffer
    averaging and display function
    reset trigger and buffers

  • Compatibility issue between MSI MS-6575E and a Linksys PCI wireless card

    Hi all,
I have a Compaq Pavilion a249.pt with a MSI MS-6575E motherboard. I bought a Linksys PCI wireless card to access to network.
The problem is when I plug in the PCI card the system don't boot. It remains in the HP logo and doesn't jump to system start.
I plug the card in another computer and I get no problems...
Do you have any idea about what can be wrong?
    Yhanks,
    CC

Thanks for your comments and help. The problem is solved!
Here are the steps I took:
1 - Try to find help in HP support team: they don't help me in any way!!!!
2 - Try to find help in Linksys support team: they help me isolating the problem and they didn't have any kind of error report regarding with Linksys card and MS motherboard. They told me to try the linksys card in another computer to ensure that the card was in perfect conditions. And it was.
3 - Download of MSI motherboard manual to find any clue.
4 - Search for a forum (like this!) and ask for help. You were the only with straight and usefull ideas  . Thanks!!!!!
And now the solution: After checking the BIOS parameters regarding with LAN boot (you told me to disable it), I switched the card to PCI slot 3. The boot was OK.
Again, many thanks to you all.
