Picking and choosing tv epis to download to iPod

I just bought the entire season one for the tv show "iCarly." I don't have enough room on my iPod to download the whole thing, so I chose 5 I wanted to download. They aren't the 5 most recent, or 5 unwatched, etc etc, just my favorite picks from the season. I can't figure out how to to download just those 5 onto my iPod.
Help? :P

Can't say I share your wish, but if you want to let the iTMS people know about it, maybe you could post here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html Technically, that link is just for suggesting music that the iTMS should try to get, but you could probably suggest a TV show in the comments section. (I couldn't find a similar link dedicated to video.)
Good luck. (And STOP SCREAMING! ;-)) (Please don't use ALL CAPS when posting.)

  • How does one do updates when your service provider is s-l-o-w??                     According to the counter, our computer needs almost 20 hrs. of updates, is there a way to pick and choose which ones are downloaded?

We have a "Rocket Hub" and our download times vary greatly.  My husband's computer, Snow Leopard OS, shows he has about 20 hrs. of updates to download.  Is there a way to pick and choose so we can catch up?

Nope, because files sizes, machines, software installed are different and you can't control what needs to be installed first before others work.
Apple is all Internet, you should see Lion users, they can't reinstall their OS at all without a Internet connection. (or pay $69 for the Lion USB key) and then there still the updates to deal with.
So take a ride, to a Apple Store early in the morning before their network gets overloaded (what a way to get you in the door and buy more junk uh?) fully update to 10.6.8.
Good thing about Snow Leopard, not much more in large updates coming for that verision, in fact they will stop completely come next spring or so when 10.8 is released.
Unless you live in a wealthy area with broadband, your a nobody in Apple's viewpoint.
You could get a 3G laptop connect card, hopefully that will give you enough to download your updates but they cost a fortune.
If I could just provide you with update disk I would, but I can't, machines are different.
Call Apple and ask for a update disk, perhaps they have a solution
Once you do get all your updates, Carbon Copy Clone your boot drive to a external drive, it's hold the option key bootable duplicate.
    Donationware too.

  • How can I pick and choose what IMAP folders are show in Mail?...

I am using IMAP and it works fine. Except "Sent" messages are saving on the server to "Send Messages" however I cannot see it on the list of IMAP folders in Mail. I see other folders, Save, etc. ones I created, just can't make the folder on the server show up in Mail.
If I go into the "Account Info" window in Mail, it does not show it either. Even though it is on the server and Mail is saving sent messages to it as it should.
Any ideas? How can I pick and choose what IMAP folders are show in Mail?
    Thanks
    Frank

Yes it is using the sent mailbox but just does not show it. MS Mail on Vista has a "show/hide" IMAP folder screen, I wish Mac Mail has this..would be perfect.
I was thinking about deleting the account, and adding it, that would reset it I am sure. However I have my mail set to keep a copy locally for off-line viewing (option in preferences under Account) and I get the sense that if I delete the IMAP account and add it, it will download a copy of each piece of mail (for example my inbox) again and I will have two of everything. Does this make sense? Do you think this will happen?

  • I am out of space on my Macbook Air and have a Time Machine Backup. I want to complete reset my mac, but wonder if I can pick and choose what I restore to my computer? Can I also use my time machine backup and external storage as well?

I am out of space on my Macbook Air and have a Time Machine Backup. I want to complete reset my mac, but wonder if I can pick and choose what I restore to my computer? Can I also use my time machine backup as external storage as well for the files I don't need everyday?

If you are using "Restore from Time Machine Backup" option from OS X Recovery, you can only choose from the broad categories presented.
... Can I also use my time machine backup as external storage as well for the files I don't need everyday?
To be clear, if you are asking if you can use the volume containing your Time Machine backup to store additional, non-Time Machine files, the short answer is yes.
It's not a good idea though, since the Time Machine backup will eventually fill all available space, after which it begins to remove old, "expired" backups to make room for newer ones. The presence of additional files doesn't change that fact, and Time Machine will not erase them, but you will encounter a dilemma should you want to store additional files on that volume when there is no remaining space. You will have to make room for them on your own, by deleting existing files. Furthermore, since Time Machine cannot back up its own volume, those additional files will not be backed up by Time Machine.
The easy solution for what you describe is to purchase additional external storage. External USB hard disk drives have become very inexpensive; about $55 will buy a perfectly suitable 1 TB drive.
You can also choose to replace your MacBook Air's internal storage with a larger capacity one. Look for a suitable replacement from OWC / MacSales:
    http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/SSD/OWC/Air-Retina
That gets a little more expensive but it is the optimum solution.

  • Import = Crash; Pick and choose?

I have about 30 or so new photos that I want to import, and it looks like it's about to finish, but just before it does, iPhoto crashes. I've used this camera with the app. before with no problem - it only just started occurring yesterday. Also, how can I see the content of my camera before importing? I'm not even seeing it on my desktop or in the Finder.
Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!! Thanks!

That doesn't seem to be the problem... I plugged my camera into my friend's mac and it worked perfect - I could even see the photos before I imported them and it allowed me to pick and choose. I was then able to import them from an external drive. Another persisting problem is that now, whenever I open iPhoto, it now says that I have loads (hundreds!) of unimported photos that it asks if I want to import. I have to click "no" otherwise it will again crash. So each time I open iPhoto, the number increases. I think I may go into an apple store unless there are any other suggestions?

  • Can I pick and choose from my ITunes collection and split them up across devices

I am thinking of getting an iPod Classic.  Will I be able to transfer some of the albums I have purchased on my iPad2 to the iPod Classic.  Would I have to transfer everything, or can I pick and choose?
I am a non technical person so don't k ow about synchronising devices or just transferring stuff to another one.

A classic will be no good for you then. While an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch can, in principle, be used independently, an iPod classic can only be loaded up from an iTunes library running on a computer.

  • Can I pick and choose what to clone with CCC

I bought a 2009 17" MBP "used", and it has a ton of files from the other guy on it, everywhere. For some reason it only has a 250 gig HD. I thought 500 was standard, maybe he changed that out. Anyway, I was hoping to totally clean out his junk and install a larger hardrive. My plan is to clone it onto the new hardrive. But I don't want to clone all of his junk.
Can I pick and choose what to clone with Carbon Copy? I do not have the OS (10.6.8) install discs so. I really just want to put the OS back on the machine then I can load whatever I want and the machine would be clean.

Yes. Carbon Copy Cloner allows you to choose which files you want to clone to an external drive. Have a look at the developer's site -> http://bombich.com/features

  • 1 Apple ID / Acc, 2 iPhones how do i pick and choose what iCloud data shared?

Hi, I have a MBA, iPad, and 2 iPhones all registerd to the same Apple Account & ID.
I have 1 i-phone, the other is my wifes. We have them all sharing the same ID so that we can share / store itunes downloads without having to purchase them seperately; and thus pay for them twice.
We want to use the one iCloud account on both iPhones so that we can again share music. However in doing so other features are now shared, that we don't want to share. For example the Apple ID we share is mine and all devices now pick up my imessages. So my wife is getting bombared with my imessages.
Is there away to set up my Acc's / ID's up so that we can share our music and apps on both phones but nothing else?
    I hope that makes sense,
    Cheers
    Tom

Yes, there is a solution for that...
Create or just use two different iCloud Accounts for Mail, Calendars, Notes, Reminders, iMessage, Facetime etc. and set it up on your and your wife's devices:
You can create a new iCloud account directly on your iPhone: "Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Add Account > iCloud"
After that delete your existing account on your device ("Setting > iCloud") and sign in with the one you want to use for iCloud's services like Mail Calendars etc.
Change also the Settings for iMessage "Settings > Messages >Send & Receive" and also for FaceTime "Settings > FaceTime".
To use the same Apple ID for your store purchases (Music, Apps, Movies etc.) just go to "Settings > iTunes & App Stores" and sign in with your older Apple ID and password.

  • Some software updates pertain to things that I would  never need.  Is it okay to "pick and choose" which software updates we install?

I am not computer savvy, so bare with me.  I have OSX Lion 10.7.5.  I only use it to surf and for photos.  I keep getting reminders that software updates are ready to install.  And for months and months I have continued to ignore them because their explanations seem to tell me they are not things I would ever want or need.  I see no reason to take up space on my computer for things that I have no intention of  using.  (Yes, I am a "mature" person).  The updates are for Remote Desktop Client; Migration Assistant for Lion migrating to Maverick??; Airport Utility and i-Tunes.  I also keep coming across in blogs and articles about upgrading from Lion to some other new app or software called Yosemite and I don't know if that is something I need to do?  Thanks to anyone who can answer my questions.

You have the ability to 'hide' updates, which is what I do when OS X wants to update or install drivers for printers/cameras I don't have. That way it won't keep notifying you of updates you don't want. Either use the menu bar at the top, or right-click the update and click on Hide Update.
Yosemite is the newest version of OS X, which is the operating system for your Mac. Yosemite is more secure, and runs a bit faster than Lion on my iMac, although it looks a bit different. Check out http://www.apple.com/osx/ to learn if you want to upgrade or not. It's a free download from Apple.
