Picking up iphone at Apple store feb 10th- but bought it using a family members upgrade! help!
Apple said they won't activate it for me when I pick it up tomorrow because only verizon can handle situations like this-where I am taking someone elses upgrade- what do I do!
This a condensed version:
Power off the original device on the upgraded line, your old phone and the iPhone.
Activate the iPhone on the line it was originally purchased.
Take the iPhone off of the line by putting the original phone back on to the account.
Put the iPhone on the line you want it to be on. Reset the iPhone and then plug it into computer with iTunes and allow the activation. If the iPhone has been activated on one one and needs to be switched, you must reset the phone or the process will not work.
Call technical support, tell them that you want to take the device off of one line and put it onto another and they can help you with it. Be patient and follow their instruction and should be a painless process for you

Can i use another family members upgrade for an iPhone?
I currently have a Blackberry Bold with unlimited data, and the other line on my plan is just a basic phone. Currently walmart, has the iPhone 5 on sale for $127 but the sale goes off before my upgrade which is on 1/23/12. Back in October one vzw sales Rep told me j could transfer the other persons upgrade to my line to get an iPhone 5. But last night on the vzw support twitter someone told me that the iPhone 5 wasn't eligible for early upgrades therefor I couldn't use the other lines upgrade, that I could only use mine on 1/23? Does anybody know which is right? Also could I keep my unlimited data if I was to transfer her upgrade? I know I couldn't if I used mine.
Yes if you transfer her upgrade you can A) get the iphone and B) keep your unlimited data and because your coming from a blackberry to iphone i advised doing backup assistance on your blackberry before the transfer but other than that youll have no problem with the activation just make sure that if you get it from walmart that you call to activate it otherwise they will activate it on the wrong line and cause all sorts of problems

I just bought new iphone from apple store from few weeks only but now i cant even make a phoen call and everytime i try to open "phone" function, it just error and stop on that page without any response.

If after ALL 4 steps your phone still doesn't work, you've no choice but to have your phone serviced by Apple. As you've found out, the iPhone warranty is NOT and has NEVER been international. You'll have to send your phone to someone in the country of purchase to bring your phone into Apple--and then to have that person send the phone back to you. -
I bought yesterday online an Iphone from apple store Canada (http://store.apple.com/ca/browse/home/shop_iphone/family/iphone/iphone4s) and there said that was Unlocked but on my email came a message " IPHONE 4S BLACK 16GB GSM- CAN". Does It means that this item is Unlocked?
Was shipped today, October 8, but I don't know if this "GSM-CAN" means taht is locked or unlocked!
I BOUGHT AN UNLOCKED!"GSM-CAN" means that it was a GSM iPhone sold in Canada. It doesn't indicate anything regarding lock status. If you purchased the iPhone from the online Apple Store, then to the best of my knowledge, they don't sell anything other than unlocked iPhones.

Of course it changed. A phone's IMEI number is unique to each phone. The IMEI number for a phone does not transfer to another phone.
Since your iPhone was exchanged under warranty without having the box and bill for the original purchase, you don't need it now either. The exchange under warranty remains under the warranty for the original purchase. -
I want to buy an iphone 5 from an Apple store in Japan. Can I use my Australian SIM?
My understanding is I am able to buy SIM free iphones from Apple stores here in Japan. I am currently living here and have my Australian iphone 4s with all of my contacts and apps connected through this number. Not sure that you can - I think that all Japanese phones are carrier locked and people who have purchased iPhones in Japan and who have posted here have been disappointed when they have discovered that their phones are locked and that the Japanese carriers will not unlock phones.
Also, very good luck if you can buy an iPhone 5, because the iPhone 5 was discontinued from the range when both the 5s and 5c were released last year making your only options for purchase either an iPhone 4s, 5s or 5c. Might be different in Japan though, but yes, if you can buy a truly unlocked iPhone from Apple in Japan, then you can use any sim card in it, but you need to remember that even with a sim card you might not be able to get all the services with an Australian sim card - perhaps not 4G due to frequency differences etc and also warranty cover on a Japanese phone when you return to Australia - if you buy in Japan then warranty is for Japan only and NOT Australia. -

ONLY the carrier it is locked to can authorize unlocking it. Most have restrictions in that you must be a current customer and have maintained service for a minimum period of time. Do yourself a favor, sell it and purchase a phone in India instead.

I don't believe Apple ships iPhones outside of any country where it is sold, regardless if sold as unlocked in a particular country. AFAIK, the iPhone sold in each country must be purchased at an Apple Store if there is one available, or via Apple's designed provider or approved sales outlet in each country. -

I bought an iphone 6plus at $849 and it works well in China with a Chinese SIM. While the device went wrong, and I got a replacement in US Apple store. However, any Chinese cannot use in the replacement. I contact apple support, and they asked me to contact you to unlock the device. I want to know if you can help me with the issue.
The Verizon iPhone 6 comes unlocked, Verizon would not be able to help with a Chinese sim.
