I am trying to connect a PICO PK104 digital projector to my Macbook Pro, and I am not sure what adapter to use...any ideas?

Optoma's web site shows a PK 100, PK101 and PK102, but no PK104. Please clarify what you have so your question can be answered.

We develop educational Apps for iPod/iPhone and iPads, and I'd like to be able to demo them to a group of people using a pico projector.
i.e., use the app on the device and have the screen mirrored through the pico and projected on to a wall.

Yes. You can backup the iPad either to iCloud or to a Mac through iTunes, then restore the backup to the iPad Mini.

Streaming camera to pico projector

I have recently restored my iPhone 3G and 3GS to factory settings in order to figure out a way to stream its camera to a Pico P1 Jr Projector.
Is there any way to achieve this?

Mini/Pico projector jpeg's not showing

I hope this is the right forum..... I recently bought an Optoma PK102 mini projector from a Mac supplier. I have successfully transferred several images in .jpg format to the projector using the USB IN connection. they are around 100kb or less so they are quite small images. When the projector is on None of the images are showing in the projectors PHOTOS file, I used to be able to select one of the folders that contained my images, but I could not open the file, then the red selector square would simply jam on that file for several seconds before quitting everything and going back to the OPTOMA intro/ MENU etc.
Tried to contact Optoma directly but they don't respond (yawn!)
Does anyone know about these projectors? Hope there is a simple solution...

I don't have the PK102 (I am using a AAXA P2) but it sounds like the Optoma media player is either having problems handling the decoding of the JPG or the file system format is not compatible with the MacOS file system. Optoma's media player is known to be pretty weak with video codec support but not being able to properly decode basic JPG's would be suprising, so I'm leaning towards the Optoma's memory being incompatible. Can you open those images saved in the PK102's internal memory with your computer through the USB connection?
If you can't get it figured out, try returning the unit and picking up the AAXA P2... it's 3 times brighter than the PK102 and they have some refubished units available right now for a really good price

You dont have to put it ON the Ipad, once on the Mac, you can Stream it wifi to the Ipad using the $2 program called VLC STREAMER (not VLC, but streamer made by VLC),.... best APP for your Ipad to stream videos from your MAC to your Ipad.

Pico or Micro Projectors to try / test at Best Buy?

Hi I'm in Northern california. Does any Best Busy carry pico projectors that I can test? I'm specifically looking for the AAXA P2 model but I want to try any brand or type that is in the 30 lumen range to see if it's bright enough.

Good projector for macbook pro?

Hi there, looking for a good projector that will work with my macbook pro, connectivty, or wireless would be great. I'm going to project my desktop onto canvas, i have vector layers to do some trace painting. so really just need hi-def still shots. But if i can get a good one that i can use in the future for video that would be nice as well, or something compatible with apple tv. just a good, small projector. thanks!

IPad miniature projector

I am looking to use my iPad for presentations and want to find a miniature, high quality projector that is compatible with Keynote and can be accessed using the iPad Dock Connector to VGA Adapter. Any suggestions?

I have the Brookstone DLP Pico projector. I purchased it from EBay not too long ago. It worked before with the previous version of Apples iOS. I would view netflix, youtube, and videos.. I have an iphone4.
Now with the latest update to ios7, tried it last evening with netflix and youtube, it does not work at all! This is rediculous, restricting access to something we had access to before

I dont see why any projector won't work as long as you have the adapter for it. Aaxa's pico projectors are said to to work fine with apple products as well as others like acer and optoma. Depends what you plan on using it for that should really matter these days. They should all work fine and things to think about are the features each projector has like onboard media player, USB or SD readers, Lumens, and most of all price.
But as a suggestion get the brightest you can afford you don't want to be stuck squinting cuz you can't see the deng thing. LOL

Audio Output Selection in 3rd Party Media Apps

In all 3rd party media apps that I have, including Netflix and Pandora, among others, I do not have that box/arrow button that allows me to choose which audio output to use.
I normally have my iPhone 4 (iOS 4.3) connected to a pico projector, and paired with a set of bluetooth headphones.
Depending on the order I plug the projector in, or pair the headphones, I can get the audio to play through the right channel, but it is very finicky. If there are any interruptions (call, text, ect) or if Ieave the app, and come back, it defaults to the serial connection, and tries to play the audio through the project.
Is the lack of the audio channel selection button on the iOS side or the app side?

You should be able to reset the default app in application settings, then it'll ask again, but I don't remember how >_>

Dual-Booting Windows and Android on Yoga Tablet 2 13?

So I am a big fan of the lenovo yoga tablet so I started looking into the new versions of the tablet and I came upon something curious. both the yoga tablet 2 pro and the yoga tablet 2 13 (windows) have the same processor (a 64-bit processor) as well as very similar technical specs(the main difference being the windows edition has 4GB of ram instead of 2GB and a larger battery no doubt due to the removal of the integrted pico projector). as well Lenovo has the source code for the android build in the pro available on the website.
So my question is if both are running off the same 64-bit processor is there anything stopping someone from compiling the yoga 2 pro source code and installing the yoga 2 pro android OS onto the Windows version of the tablet (dual-booting both) aside from secure boot needing to be disabled?
after scouring the internet and asking a few lenovo representatives I have found absolutely no information on this (the lenovo reps I spoke to couldn't even confirm the specs of the processors but I found that data from the intel ark database) and it is something I really would like to do if possible (especially with android 5.0 having x86 support integrated in the vanila build)
So anyone have any information on anyone trying this or something similar being attempted?

To make it short, the uefi bios used on yoga tablets support only x86 so, the x86-64 instruction set can't be used, on windows. Without CSM (compatibility support module) you can't even try to boot some oses. For linux you need to mod it, i'll try later but, i can't build a new bios and lenovo is not present on this board

Macbook Pro as a Video Monitor

Is there any way of using my Mcbook as a monitor? I want to try and connect my camcorder (Sony Z1) to the laptop to playback footage immediately after shooting (rather than exporting it as a file etc). Surely there must be a way of doing this?

Not directly. You could try some sort of video input adapter, the kind for hooking up a VCR to your Mac so you can convert video tapes to files, for example. But many of the cheaper ones will not give good real-time video "preview", and often not at full screen.
You may have to carry along some sort of monitor. If you're near AC power, then a normal TV or monitor could work. Otherwise a portable TV, but I haven't seen many larger than 7". I saw [this 9" portable TV at Target|http://www.target.com/Digital-Labs-Portable-TV-DT291SA/dp/B002JGVEOE]. I've never used that model, so I can't say much about it.
Maybe even a projector. Some of the new "pico projectors" have batteries and are quite small, although they aren't very bright.
