Pics Disappearing

Hey all, new guy here. Have been looking through the threads and there’s a wealth of information here.
I do have a specific problem with Premier Elements 8.0 that I can’t find listed here.
First I click on “Get Media” and then I go a folder on my hard drive where my pics are. When I click on a given pic in the folder it disappears. It only disappears from the “add media” folder that’s open. The pic itself is still on my computer. The more I choose the more that disappear. If I close the folder and open it again all the pics return only for the same thing to happen again. Needless to say that without being able to import pics I can’t make any movies.

Steve, yes, I did all the updates from the help menu.
Nealeh, I did the updates from your post with the exception of “PRE9 v9.0.1 update” as I have ver 8.
I also went through various links on Adobe’s website and did a number of installs and updates listed. I’m not sure which one fixed the problem but right now it’s working. So, for now, I’m going to give it a few days and see if it comes back.

After changing your Apple ID information, you may need to manually sign out and sign back in on your devices so that they may recognize the update. You may find the following article helpful:

Facebook profile pics disappeared

What's the problem , why have my facebook profile pics disappeared in Safari ? ...

Might be a cookies and cache issue ...
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click: Remove All Website Data
Now empty the Safari cache ...
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Advanced tab.
Select: Show Develop menu in menu bar
Now click Develop from the menu bar. From the drop down menu click Empty Caches.
Quit and relaunch Safari then try Facebook.

I updated my new iphone 6 from my last available sync from my iphone 5s. I had pics i took on the iphone 6 before the update. After the update the pics disappeared. Can i get the pics back?

I had an iPhone 5s that was water damaged while i was on vacation. While i was away i got a new iPhone 6. I took tons of pics on vacation on my iPhone 6. When i got home i plugged in my phone to my PC and it started to sync. It was syncing for about 5 mins when a new screen popped up. The screen said welcome to iPhone 6 would you like to start as a new phone or update from last available sync. I selected to update from last sync and all the pics i took with the iPhone 6 disappeared and all my old photos were added. Is there any way i can get my photos back?

unfortunately not. When you restored the backup of your iPhone 5S onto your iPhone 6, it wiped all the data off the iPhone 6 and replaced it with the backup.

IPhoto library - Events - pics imported from camera, scanner and internet - it doesn't seem to matter - for a while they show OK but then when I go into the event and start scrolling some--but not all--pics disappear w/ ? small and expanded.

iPhoto Library - events - pics imported to library from camera, scanner and internet. Some disappear--sometimes when scrolling and other times on their own. Some disappear when in general event and some when I try to expand the picture. If when expanding the small pic remains. It's really annoying.

Are you running a "referenced" or "managed" library?
Give this a try:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.>Click on the Add Library button,
2 - select the library you want to add from those in the selection window.
3 - make sure that in the rebuild window the checkbox "Scavange orphaned photos" is checked.
4 - now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
5 - in the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed. Click on the Create button.
Note 1: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost.
Note 2: Your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.

All but 3 contacts and some pics disappeared from my iphone 4. I am getting pics of people I don't know showing up now. Help?!

I had my phone stolen last month and had it immediately shut off and flagged as stolen. Redid passwords also. I have my son's old iphone 4 and had my info transferred to it. Verizon was able to switch it over and all my contacts and pics showed up. Now all but 3 contacts disappeared and the old photos. I am getting pics of someone else daily on my phone now. Can someone please help me!?

I think I am following -- I was able to upload to my iPhoto and all photos and videos are there that is a plus! I tried to create an Event in my iPhoto and put all of my photos in that event but for some reason, now my iTunes it not recognizing that Event in my iPhoto. It is not allowing me to import just that event at the moment but I may be doing something wrong. At least all of my pics and vids are in iPhoto so that is a plus and I know they are at least saved somewhere. Just for some reason, my iTunes it not locating the event that I created with only those photos.

Also, I had no clue that my iCloud could be backed up via cellular data! However, is this a new feature with the most updated iOS?? Unforutnatly I am like 2 iOS updates behind because I don't have enough storage on my phone. I still get the notification that my phone needs to be plugged in and connected to wifi in order to back up to the cloud :-(
How can I sync using USB? Right now when i click on the info tab for my iPhone in my iTunes this is the answer that I get -- I am a little unclear as to what it means.

IPhoto Book Pics disappeared

I have published 4 iPhoto Books for family use. In trying to re-order one I discovered that all of the pictures have disappeared from the book. The text is there but no pictures. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks

I know that the horse is out of the barn but for future books I suggest you create a new, separate library just for the book. It will be easier to store for long tern in case you want to order another copy at a later date without fear of losing any of the photos.

Are you able to view the photos in their events in full size?

Almost all the pics in iPhoto have gone away. I have backup on Time Capsule but need to know the file name where the photos live so I can restore that file. Am I on the right track? What is the name of the file? Thanks

So I need to go back a couple of weeks in TM, and launch iPhoto to see if they are present.
What you need to do is go back a couple of weeks in TM and restore the library and open it? Is that what you meant by the statement above?
Before you do that give this a try:
Starting over from scratch with new library
Start over with a new library and import the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from your original library as follows:
1. Open the library package like this.
2. Launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
3. Drag the subfolders of the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from the open iPhoto Library package into the open iPhoto window a few at a time.
This will create a new library with the same Events (but not necessarily the same Event names) as the original library but will not keep the metadata, albums, books slideshows and other projects.
Note: your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.
Also you only need to answer once. Everyone who's posted to this topic will receive a copy regardless who you reply to.

Ok when I select my contact id picture & associate it with a contact it seems fine. However, when that person calls or texts their pic is gone! & I have to go back & add their pic again over & over.I've gotten to the point that this is just a defect in the phone! This is my 2nd BB Curve 8530 & the 1st one had the same issue.

We had the same problem, but I figured how to save the contact ID pics. When you add a pic to a telephone number you hit the track ball button to save and then hit the menu button, the button to the left of the track ball button, and save again. By doing this, we have not lost any contact ID pics whether they are calling or texting. Hope this helps.

I had two text files and iPhoto all on my screen at the same time, and iPhoto got shoved off. I could not pull it back up, even tho the computer kept trying. When the pictures finally reappeared, many were duplicated. I had 4167 pictures. Now I have over 8000.
I have a disk backup and am considering deleting and reinstalling iPhoto. If I do this, will the pics be in the same chronological order as before? I seem to remember reading that copying the pictures to a disk puts them in a random order. Also, If I delete iPhoto I want to be sure to delete all the pictures. Where are they located? Rather than delete and reinstall, is there a software program that may help me find duplicates?

It sounds like you imported your iPhoto library into an iPhoto library - that should never be done
If you still have the original iPhoto library then the solution is to depress the option key and launch iPhoto and select the old one - if that works and you it fully then you can delete the bad one
If you do not have it then you need to load your backup

Path to images are all 404 not found on server. Did you upload these images to your server yet?

Incidentally, don't use spaces in file or folder names on the web.
They revert to %20 entities which can create problems in some browser. Rename your images without spaces or any special characters from DW's Files Panel. Also, you should stick with all lower case a-z 1-10 characters as some servers are cAsE sEnSiTiVe. So uppercase files are not the same as lower case.

When I click on a photo it gets larger and then disappears

When I view an album and click on a picture it gets larger for just a second and then goes away. A triange with a is replaced where the picture should be. Apple recenty reinstalled my OS due to problems with I-work opening slow, which is working ok now. They got my pictures on the I-photo again. However, I have many duplicates and they are all messed up with Events out of sort. I don't know if I will ever get them organized again. My concern now is why some of the pic disappear when I click on them. Has anyone had this problem before with the pics disappearing?

do you still have the iPhoto library from before they "fied" things? Is so drag the bad i{hoto library to the desktop and restore the backup of the iPhoto library to the pictures folder and hopefully things will be good
Otherwise what they did will take a lot of work and only be partially sucessful in getting yoru library back the way it was

No pics appear in iphoto and aperture sidebar since iLife 11

With the update of iLife11 the pics disappeared from the sidebar under iPhoto and Aperture.
While the sidebar for Audio, Movies and Widgets runs well, only the running upload icon appears beside of iPhoto and Aperture.
Why does iWeb not find the pics?!

Since it works OK in your wife's account it could be a preference file that is causing the problem in your account. Here's how to determine if that's the problem:
Trouble Shooting Preferences in Leopard/Snow Leopard
1 - close all applications.
2 - open your Library folder, Home/Library, and drag the Preferences folder to the Desktop. A new Preference folder will be immediately created in the Library.
3 - run the application again and determine if the problems is fixed.
4 - If the problem is fixed:
A - open the working Preferences folder (HD/Users/your_name/Library/Preferences).
B - Open the Preferences folder on the Desktop, select all of the contents and drag them into the working Preferences folder.
C - When the Copy window pops up check the "Apply to All" check box and then click on the Don't Replace button.

5 - If the problem is NOT fixed, drag the Preferencess folder on the Desktop into the Library to replace the new one that was created.
