Pics on SD card

I have a Blackberry Curve 9315. I installed an SD card for added storage. When i insert the card into my Macbook Pro, the images are unreadable, iPhoto cannot open them. Any suggestions? Using the Blackberry Desktop Software does not change anything. Also, yes i wish I had an iPhone. This is the third Blackberry Curve I have had in nine months but what all I really want to do right now is retrieve my images from my SD card or from my Blackberry via the USB cable since the Bluetooth function does not work either.
Thank you for reasonable suggestions or fixes.

If you want to view your photos on a PC (or Mac), make sure your USB Mass Storage is set to ON. I'm not exactly sure where the option for this is on a Curve, but if you go to your homescreen and start at Options then look for something like Storage it should be there. Find it, set it to ON then see if you can access your photos on your PC or Mac using a USB cord.
Let us know if that helps you.
- If my response has helped you, please click "Options" beside my post and mark it as solved. Clicking the "thumbs up" icon near the bottom of my response would also be appreciated.

  • Where did my pics go ??? Transferred pics from memory card to Mac Pro and lost pics on memory card and unable to find on Mac

where did my pics go. Transferred 40-50- pic from camera memory card to Mac via  slot; lost pics on memory card and unable to find anywhere in Mac. May have gone to Open Office as Data . Is that possible and if so can I get pics back or if not so ,where could they be????

First place to check is in the iPhoto library. If the images were imported there then they will be visible in the previews created.
The physical location of image files in iPhoto is quite buried in folders within folders. So, if you want to copy them then select all of the ones needed from the previews and copy from iPhoto to a new location, preferably a new folder in the Pictures folder.
The other app that might have transferred the files is Image Capture. It would download files from cards or cameras. Launch this app and look in the preferences to see the default location of transferred files.

    Hello Smile_333
The article below will assist with finding things and help increase the hard drive space for your computer. The best way is to have an external hard drive to copy things to if you do not want to delete and loose things.

I would like to transfer photos to my sd card to bring them to Costco for printing, but I am not Able to transfer the pics to the card. Any help?

Easiest way is to transfer the photos to your computer. Then copy them to your ad card. You should be backing up all your photos on your computer anyway. Having them only on your iPad is asking for trouble should something happen to your iPad.

  • Uninstalling Watsapp seems to have corrupted my pics! Cant view pics on media Card...

OK, so watsapp went mental, despite doing several battery pulls it remained crazy. So, of course, the next step would be to delete and reinstall. So I deleted the app. I now find that I cannot open all the pictures on my media card :/ It takes ages to index and though the pics are definately there (file manager showing % of memory card free) I cant get to them. I cant pick up from the PC either - blackberry link isnt picking up anything on my card OR device...(however it HAS taken off 16 random pics and put into a folder in my documents; which incidentally, I cant seem to restore to my z10).
Now I know what you're thinking; memory card has somehow been corrupted right? Well...No because I can view ALL my videos, music and 352 pictures (about 510 are inaccessible). I know it cant be the card as the pictures i can see are a complete mix match of dates from 2009 to present but all randomly mixed up :/
I have re-installed watsapp and all convos have backed up...
I have the latest softwarre so its not that. I can access everything on the card from PC but cant get them over into the link :/ WHY did BB have to make it like it has? (If it aint broke dont fix it!) The software was ace, you could just drag and drop. There is no 'restore' option or anything on my BB link.
I am going to do the obvious - battery pull again. If no joy then rebook with no sim. Still no joy Reboot with no media card. I dont know what else to do.
If I format the card will I lose all the pictures on it? I cant backup to the link either - there is no option :/
    Can anyone help me? PLEASE

    Hey MissKitten,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
Just to clarify, you are not able to view the contents of the media card on your PC as well? (Not through BlackBerry Desktop Software but through My Computer).
I would suggest formatting the SD card, however formatting the SD card will erase all data.  So I would attempt to back it up if possible.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

  • Why can't I view pics from sd card without installing?

Why cant I view pics from an sd card without copying onto iPad?

Um, because the camera connection kit is not a viewer, but rather permits downloading pictures from a SD card directly to your iPad.

  • Importing pics via SD card

Just received a 4 gen iPad for Christmas. I ran into a sort-of glitch when trying to import photos vis SD card and the SD card reader/Lightning plug.
When I insert a card from a camera all the photos take by the camera show up on the iPad screen for selection.
I bought a second SD card to move old photos from my computer to the iPad. I insert this and nothing shows (the photo app doesn't launch at all).
I then moved some old photos from the iMac to the SD card from the camera and when I connected it, the images from the camera showed, but not the pics I moved onto the card.
This happened even when I nested them with the exsting pics in the DCIM folder on the camera card.
Let me note that the camera card photos have the original Kodak camera photo codes such as 100_1056 while the iMac pics have been named ("Christmas 1972").
Is the file name the issue, or is it simply not possible to transfer photo files to the iPad using an SD card after they have been removed from the camera?

    It's the pics file name.
You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit. Using an SD card is the same.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

Insert your old memory card to a card reader - and connect it to a PC. Then copy the files to your new microSD card.
Nokia 6205 is an exclusive phone made for Verizon right?

If you are talking about moving existing files to the SD card, it looks like there is only 1 way, connecting the phone to your computer.
Copying files to or from the storage card
You can copy your music, photos, and other files to your phone’s storage card.
    1. Connect your phone to your computer using the supplied USB cable.
    2. On your phone’s Connect to PC screen, tap Disk drive, and then tap Done.
On your computer, the connected phone is recognized as a removable disk.
    3. Navigate to the removable disk and open it.
    4. Do one of the following:
Copy the files from the computer to the phone’s storage card’s root folder.
Copy the files from the phone’s storage card to a folder in your computer.
    5. After copying the files, unmount the removable disk (that is, the connected phone) as required by your computer’s operating system to safely remove your phone.
    6. Do one of the following:
Disconnect the phone from the computer.
If you want to keep the phone connected to the computer but want the phone to be able to access the storage card, open the Notifications panel, tap Disk drive, select an option except Disk drive, and then tap Done.
Is there something else you want to do other than that?

  • My iMac won't let me upload pics from memory card...HELP!!!

I've had my Mac for 3 months and have never run into this problem until recently. I tried to upload my pictures onto my Mac and when I put the memory card into my memory card reader, iPhoto comes up, but it shows there are no pictures on the card. When I put the card in my camera I have 500+ pictures on it. I have also tried connecting my camera directly and it still shows no pictures on the card???
I don't understand what the problem is, it's always allowed me to upload from both my Memory Card Reader and from my camera directly...
    Can anyne help me???

    Monica:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. As a workaround open iPhoto's preferences and in the General section change the "Connecting camera opens:" setting from iPhoto to Image Capture. Close iPhoto and insert the memory card in the reader and see if IC can see your photos. If so upload them to a folder on the desktop to get them on the HD before you do further testing.
First try the simple fix: delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder and try again. Have you run any updaters since the last time you successfully uploaded from the camera or card reader?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Import pics using sd card

I am sometimes out and about and want to post to Facebook some pictures I take with my Canon camera and/or want to view on larger screen. However, I need a way to get it on my iPad.  I know there is a connection kit. But I am concerned that I will not have the same flexibility I have at home (Aperture) in importing. I like the auto event/project feature. And I like the rename filename (to yyyy-mm-dd and image name) feature particularly. When importing into iPad using the connection hardware, are you given such options?  Is there an app that would?  Are there any items lost in an iPad import that aperture would catch?  I know iPhoto, for example doesn't assign time zone like aperture can. I'd like to not have to import more than once. I already have photo stream turned on. So I'd have duplicates if I imported from sd card to aperture when got home. But I don't want to lose any of the data that would otherwise be there.
Any help on a workflow would be greatly appreciated. I suppose if there isn't a real good option, I can opt to take my MacBook, but was hoping for portability of iPad.
    Thanks for any feedback!

You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive (works the same with an SD card) into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM.

  • SATA11 is it compatable with all controller cards

I want to add 500gb HD's to my G4 Giga and know I need a SATA controller card, I am considering this one card pic is this card compatable with SATA11 hard drives?
    Powermac G4 Giga-ethernet Dual 1.2ghz 100bus 2 Gig Ram 2xHD 80gb+120gb USB1+2/FW   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   wireless network

Thanks Japamac, can I go through this deadhead style...
You can install as many OS's as you want. When you
set your Startup Disk Preferences, you are able to
select the OS that you want, as well as the disk that
    you want.
Does this mean I have to make a partion thing on the same disk for each (even the same) OS?
Do I use the original install disks to do this?
Another way to select startup disk/OS, is to boot
while holding the Option key. This will open the
Startup Manager, and allow you to select which and
where you want to boot from.
This is the screen I remember from my Apple Care Plan Help Desk days
It is a good idea to have a second (and third)
    bootable disk in your system.
Is the third disk on a partion thing ( I have researched this and have found, using "disk utility" I can make "partitions", if I understand correctly, my machine will "see" a partition as a separate disk, am I miles off?
    That way, heaven
forbid, should one disk have trouble booting, you can
use the Startup Manager to select an alternate disk,
and then diagnose and repair the ailing disk from
    there.
Do I use "disk utility" from another partition disk to do this?
This is, actually, a very important thing to
have in your system. by all means, install the OS on
    the other disk.
A partition on the 120gb, how big should the partition be?
Remember, to keep both disks backed up. So, don't
give up on your external drives all together. They
    are VERY useful.
This is where you are going to hate me... I dont have any externals or back ups.... this is why I am trying to work out what to do... I back up my photo's to DVD when I have enough, its not good practice because it can take a months worth before I have time to physically go through all the work to decide what I will archive to DVD, I would love for all of the work to automatically copy itself to a safe place.
While we are on the subject, a very good way to
backup, is to use Super Duper. This is a clone
utility. SD will copy bit for bit, your drive, and
then make that backup bootable. This is a very nice
feature. Also, after that, you can use the Smart
Update feature, which updates any changes of a volume
to it's clone. This way, you always have an exact
copy of your system and data. Invaluable!
This is obviously what I need... I will download it and try to understand its functions
I like OWC, myself. Even with shipping and tariffs to
Japan, it is most often cheaper to do so. Also, the
company is very reputable, has great service (try
their live chat) and stands behind what they sell.
OWC also has lots of install tutorial video (and
PDF's) in their support section. Check it
    out.
I have trusted OWC since you recommended them for my processor upgrade and have just ordered the SATA controller from them and am going to get a 500gb internal HD for now until I can learn to rationalise my disk space... at the moment my files are just copies of themselves on the same disk (120gb)
Hey Japamac... I have to say thank you to you sir, you have obviously put a lot of time and effort into your reply and I really do appreciate it...

  • HT4101 I have a NIKON COOLPIX P500 but am unable to download photos through the IPad camera connection kit. I have tried to use the Sandisk card also - no result. Any suggestions? The Ipad does not "see" the card or camera?

I have a Nikon Coolpix P500 but am unable to download photos from it to my iPad2 via the iPad Camera Connection kit. The iPad does not see either the Sandisk 8GB card or the Nikon camera. I have turned the camera on, but it seems that the camera just want to recharge its battery through the iPad as the iPad states that the devices draws too much power?? Anybodu solved this problem yet? Advise please?

One thing to check is the format that the camera is saving pics to the card in. Many are selectable and, in most cases, if PTP is one of the options then you need to have that one selected for the files to be visible to iOS and the CCK (connection kit).
Another thing which sometimes comes up, especially with older cameras and therefore probably not with yours, is the filenaming conventions used by the camera. iOS is quite strict about what it expects to see and if files are being stored with unsupported name formats then they simply won't be seen at all.

  • Photos from computer to empty card for digital photo frame?

I've downloaded 1,000 photos from my camera to the computer and want to empty the card and use it afresh. Is it possible to then load a selection of photos from iPhoto 6 onto an empty card so that I can play a short selection in a digital photo frame? and please how do I do it?
    Thanks,
    Elizabeth

If you want to clear a card simply use your camera to Reformat the card. It takes a couple of seconds to do it. For specific details on doing it on your camera see your manual, or root around in the menus
To put pics on a Card for a digital frame:
Select the pics in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export them to a Folder on the desktop. Then drag that folder of images to the Card.
Most cameras will mount their cards on the Desktop. However some brands (not mentioning Canon and Kodak in particular, just in passing) don't. The only way around this is to pop the card in a USB Card Reader, and it will turn up on the desktop.
