Pics won't shuffle

When I updated my itouch 5 to the iOS7... my pictures does not shuffle when i play it to music. I've tried checking the picture settings ( I see the green shuffle buttion on..but it doesn't shuffel the pics), I've tried restarting the iTouch....but nothing seems to be working. The pics just play in the same straight order.
How can i fix this?

The usual problem with my own observations:
1. If I turn on directly to shuffle mode it won't work.
2. If I turn it on to regular mode, run it for a while, stopping and starting it a few times, and then moving it to shuffle mode it works 90% of the time, BUT with none of the controls working (volume, skip, etc). The other 9% of the time it stops after about 3 seconds. !% of the time it actually works properly.
3. Resetting it, applying new software, etc etc all make no difference.
Overall pretty buggy product. I still can't figure out from this website how I actually get it serviced or replaced, or if they have ever made one that actually works properly. I bought it in March 05 so I guess I should get it serviced. Any idea how I figure out the serial number (other than reloading the software)?
I'm a bit surprised Apple would put this on the market with so many problems.

I installed Mavericks yesterday. Now iTunes won't shuffle.

I installed Mavericks on my iMac yesterday. Now I find that iTunes won't shuffle and will keep repeating a song until I stop it.

To confirm, you've downloaded and installed Mavericks, and not just downloaded Mavericks, right?
If you have installed Mavericks, have you tried updating to load the current iTunes 12 software, to see if that might resolve this?
I'd probably also try using Disk Utility.app (Applications > Utilities) to repair the disk permissions, and also to check the volume for errors, though it's not at all clear that would help here.
If all that fails, see if Console.app (Applications > Utilities) shows any messages relevant to iTunes, if you launch that and then try the (failing) iTunes launch.

Apple TV won't shuffle homemade music videos?

I've got a number of homemade videos (things downloaded from YouTube, etc.) I've set as music videos. Apple TV sees them just fine, and will play them just fine, but it WON'T shuffle them. It only seems to shuffle videos purchased from iTunes.
Has anybody run into this before?

Choose a video in iTunes, right click on it and GetInfo.
Under options tab ,skip when shuffling, is probably selected - change it for all affected videos and you should be ok.

ITunes Jukebox won't shuffle through songs

Remember in the good ol' days, when you could just click the spacebar at the iTunes library page, and it would shuffle through your songs and play something random for you? And you could click > and it'd shuffle again?
Well, my iTunes has stopped doing that. Unless I've specifically highlighted a song, iTunes won't play anything when I hit the spacebar. I'm authorized to play all my songs, and all my keys are working right, but it just won't shuffle anymore.
Help?

ipod keeps repeating song, won't shuffle. HELP!!

While playing any song on your iPod, tap the artwork to bring up the scrubber bar and additional controls. On the left hand side is a option for repeat. You want to make sure this icon is white (meaning it is set to Off). If it isn't tap it either one or two times to change its current setting.

IPod on iPhone won't shuffle.

My iPod on my iPhone 3G won't shuffle, just keeps playing the same song unless I manually change it.

Turn off repeat.
This is covered in the manual:

Tap the screen when the song is playing, tap the repeat button until it is white = off

Won't Shuffle

After downloading the latest software last night, my 2G won't shuffle. Sometimes it plays song #1 over and over and then sometimes it will go to song #2 and play that over and over. Any ideas?

Playlists won't shuffle

i recently got a new computer and updated to itunes 10.1.0.54.
none of my playlists on my ipod will shuffle anymore. they will only play in order. they also won't shuffle when i am playing directly through my ipod. it will shuffle my entire library, but not the playlists.
i've looked at answers to similar problems and the fixes didn't work for me, or i didn't understand them.

I am having the same problem with all of my playlists now in iTunes 10.1 They will play in order, but will not shuffle. Once you try to let it play the next track during shuffle or click next track, it stops playing. Didn't have this problem until this recent iTunes update!

Audiobook won't shuffle on ipod nano (and other related issues)

I am learning German and I bought a set which comes with an audio companion that you can use on your MP3/ipod. They come in units of no more than 3 minutes each and there are quite a few of them. I uploaded the content onto iTunes.
First of all iTunes recognised them as music and displayed them in my music file. No big deal, I went to 'Get info' on each one and changed the media kind to Audiobook so that they would show up there and not play with the rest of my music.
This is where the problems start: -
1. For some reason my nano won't shuffle the units. I can only assume that it thinks these are 'books' which you wouldn't shuffle. As such it simply plays one unit (3 mins long) and then repeats it. It doesn't even move onto the next unit/book. I've tried turning shuffle on and off, both on the ipod and on itunes to no avail. I've gone into 'get data' and the tick-box which says 'Skip when shuffling' is greyed out and can't be unchecked.
2. I can't skip to the next unit like I would when listening to a song. Pressing forward (right) does nothing. I literally have to return to the main menu and select another unit manually. Oddly enough, the only way I can get round this is by going into settings on the ipod and turning shuffle OFF. Then it allows me to skip to the next unit! Problem being that then none of my music will shuffle.
3. Once I select a new unit (either my returning to the main menu or skipping forward by turning shuffle OFF) it remembers my last position. I'm sure this is great for books, but not these small 3-minute units. I've gone into 'get data' and the tick-box which says 'Remember playback position' is greyed out and can't be unchecked.
These are my problems. I just want them to be like songs, but in a different file (i.e. not music) where I can skip forwards and backwards. I've tried adding them to their own playlist but the problems remain the same.
Any suggestions as to why this is or how I can resolve it would be greatly appreciated. It shouldn't be this hard.

Update to this -
I just tried changing it all back to Music, checking ''Skip when shuffling' and adding them to their own Playlist.
This works in so far as they won't now play when my music is playing, but I still have to turn Shuffle OFF in order to be able to skip units!
I want these shuffled, but of course I can't uncheck skip when shuffling, otherwise they'll play as part of my music. Catch 22.

IPod Touch Won't Shuffle

My Touch won't shuffle automatically any longer. It just replay the same song. If I touch shuffle it goes to another song then replays that until it gets another command. It's software is updated. Any suggestions?

Ok, here's the deal. I didn't realize the repeat button was activated. Apparently it over-rides the Shuffle function. Now Shuffle works.

Some Playlists Won't Shuffle

I have several playlists created on my iPod, but some of them won't shuffle. I thought that maybe there was a limit on the number of playlists you could have, so I created a test playlist and it worked just fine. The songs on the problem playlists will play just fine if I don't have "shuffle" selected. But if "shuffle" is selected then the iPod will only play one song at a time, and then only if I select that specific song to play. I've tried deleting the bad playlists and re-creating them (even with different names), but I get the same problem every time. Does anyone know what's up with this? Thanks!

does your "shuffle songs" function on the main iPod menu work? it could be that you have too few songs in the playlist maybe? other than that i've never heard of this.

My music won't shuffle. It will keep playing the same song over and over until I manually change it. Only reason it is a big deal is I listen to it while driving and manually changing each song isn't safe while driving.

Run keeper app won't shuffle my workout playlist. This started when I upgraded to Iphone 6. The shuffle button will not stay in the on positio.

This is a problem with the app "Run Keeper" not iOS itself or your phone. Report your problem to the App developers.

There are two arrows below the time a song is plays. One is circular (repeat) and the other has two arrows crossing each other (?). The one going circular needs to be pressed to turned it off.
