Picture Album Options

I have the iPhone 4. My Aunt showed me how her phone had the "FACES" option under the pictures App. She told me once I updated my phone I would get it, but I didn't. ( I don't know if she didn't know how she got it, or I need to download something) Is there an App to get that option added? Also is there a way to make other Albums on my phone other than the "Camera Roll" Album. I would like to try and organize my photos, but have no idea how or if I can even do that!

iPhone works seamlessly with Faces in iPhoto for the Mac, so you can view your photos organized not only by event or place but also by who’s in them. Say you want to see pictures of your best friend. Tap her picture in Faces view to open an album containing photos of her.
Unless you have a Mac and use iPhoto for importing photos from a digital camera including from your iPhone's Camera Roll and for photo storage and management on your Mac, you won't have the Faces option on your iPhone.
You can't create photo albums on the iPhone. The Camera Roll is for temporary storage. Photos in the Camera Roll can and should be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera.
If you have a Mac and use iPhoto for photo storage and management, you can create photo albums for select photos in your iPhoto Library along with transferring select iPhoto albums, iPhoto events, and iPhoto Faces to your iPhone via the iTunes sync/transfer process, which is selected under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
If you manually manage photo storage on your computer - manually creating named folders for select photos, create a parent folder that will contain the named folders of photos that you want transferred to your iPhone. After placing the named folders of photos in the parent folder that you want transferred to your iPhone, select the parent folder under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes followed by a sync. All named folders of photos in the parent folder will be available on your iPhone as named folders or albums.

Suddenly my Firefox app changed. When I am on Facebook it CONSTANTLY asks if I want to change pages, even if I am just browsing a picture album. And I have trouble comments or moving among pages. The Link buttons appear to be inactive.

I get a grey box every time I click on anything in games or picture albums, or moving among applications, asking me if I want to change pages. I went to Tools/Options/and made sure I had the "warn me when sites want to redirect me" turned off, and "load pages automatically" checked. Also, the links for comment seem to be inactive. I click on links and nothing happens. It works fine on Explorer so I am thinking something about Firefox is wrong.

IPhoto picture albums missing

After upgrading to Yosemite and or iPhoto 9.6 some of my picture albums have disappeared. The pictures are still on iPhoto, is there any way to get them back? I don't want to go through over 15,000 photos to make new albums.

Do the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window. Be sure to follow the circled recommendation in the screenshot.
2 - run Option #4, Rebuild Database.
If that fails to recover the albums your best bet would be to restore your library from the backup created just prior to upgrading to iPhoto 9.6.

Picture album covers - Problem when sync to iPhoto 9.4.2 (710.42) / IOS 6.0

My problem concerns the iphone picture album covers. As I am a photographer, I want to chose my picture album cover for all the albums I synchronized from iPhoto to my iPhone.
The trick that was working before: I was only changing the date (for an earlier one) of the picture I wanted to appear as my iphone albums cover pictures.
Since the last update of iphoto, all the pictures covers changed in my iphone but without respecting any rule (neither the alphabetical name, the chronological order, or the iphoto album cover are taken as rule). However, it is always the same picture that re appear as album cover picture.
Question: which picture is taken to be the album cover picture when synchronized from iPhoto to iPhone. What is the rule??

If it's because of a damages preference file you can try this fix:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
or with Mt. Lion from the User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto/
Data/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
NOTE 2: In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

X6: why is there no photo album option in the gall...

why is there no photo album option in the gallery?
other units like the N79 had this option..
but i dont get why they didnt include it with X6
that sucks... ive had alot of trouble finding reliable and working photo programs that allow
photo album... usually compatibility problems...

I think you can achieve what you want to do on the X6. On the X6 an album is termed a folder.
If you go to the Gallery so that you can see the large list of thumbnail photos and select
Options > Folder options > New folder
Create the folder with a name of your choice.
You should then see a folder icon appear at the top of the large list of thumbnail images. If you then select, or 'Mark', the images that you want to group together by selecting
Options > Mark/Unmark > Mark (you may have to scroll down before Mark/Unmark appears).
Once you have a little tick by all the photos that you want to group together then select
Options > Folder options > Move to folder and choose the folder you created earlier.
You should then have only those images grouped together in a single folder (or album ). You can create as many folders as you like. I use this method to group all my wallpaper images together and also any system images that the gallery may discover so that they don't clog up the main gallery.
Note: From what I can see the actual locations of the photographs on either drive C: or drive E: remain unchanged, only their listing within the gallery is changed so that an image appears in the main group or within a 'folder'.

Yup, kind of like anything else you accidentally break that is more cost effective to replace than to repair. Keep that iPad away from the toddler

Aperture 3 selected albums option greyed out

Having a problems with Aperture I phone cache.
When syncing 'Selected albums' option is greyed out. Deleted the i phone cache in Library -Aperture 3 and it is still not working.

Ipod touch picture album

how do i make separate picture albums for my ipod touch.
For example, when you go to photos, it says photo library as one thumbnail. But a friend of mine had multiple thumbnails that had their own pictures, how do i do this, itunes only syncs from a folder and doesn't let you name them

Just put the pictures into separate folders inside the main picture folder. So if all of your pictures are in "My Pictures" any submenu you would like in your iTouch would be another folder inside the main one.
Example:
Main Folder: My Pictures
..Sub Folder: Vacation
..Sub Folder: Birthday
..Sub Folder: random pictures

Transferring pictures/albums from Photos to Finder and Flickr

I am currently running OS X 10.10.3 which now has Photos. I am trying to transfer albums to folders in Finder in order to send individual pictures as e-mail attachments as well as upload pictures/albums to Flickr. However, I am seemingly unable to either drag, share or otherwise move any albums from Photos. Guidance please.

Have new PC with windows 8. I own photoshop elements 9 and I have lost all my pictures, albums and tagging, how do I retrieve them?

I own elements 9. All files were backed up to a external hard drive and then downloaded to a new PC, with windows 8. I have lost all my pictures, albums and tagging. How do I retrieve all of this back into Elements 9?

It appears that you have made a backup via Windows and not via the integrated backup/restore process in the organizer. Since the albums and tagging are stored in catalogs, they are lost unless you also made a backup of the catalogs themselves.

IPhoto Picture Album Alert

Hi,
I am making a picture album with iPhoto 09 and when I pressed "Buy Book" it says "Your book seems to have frames on one or more pages that do not contain photos. You must either change the layout of those pages or place photos in those frames before you can buy this book"
I think the problem is that on some of the pictures there is a little ! alert symbol in the top right of the picture. I've tried zooming the picture in and out but it won't go away.

That won't be the reason for the message. Do you have any pages with a gray background? If so those are probably backgrounds that require a photo. See the screenshot below:

The triangle alert next to images indicate that the photo is below the 180 dpi minimum resolution (for that frame) that Apple has set for printing photos. They may print OK depending on how far from the minimum they are. What are the pixel dimensions of some of the pictures that show that warning and what page layout and frame are they in?

Creating new picture albums

Simple question: How can I create another picture album?
Whine: The iPhone only has "CameraRoll" as the only store for pictures. How can I create another album? Since I want to use the iPhone for presentations (but it only shows videos and pictures in the camera roll on slideshow mode, but showing every picture of my daughter in the mean time), there must be a way to create a new album, so I can use that for presentations (since I can't use the iPhone for displaying powerpoint).

You cannot create albums on the iPhone. You must create them on your computer, wherever you are syncing the pics from. On a Mac, that's iPhoto. On Windows, that's by creating subfolders in the folder you select for syncing pics.

Why do I have two album options in my music on my iphone but no artist option?

After upgrading my iphone 4 to the new software, I no longer have an artist option in my music. I currently have two album options instead. The first album option is fully functioning. The second album option, where I think the the artist option belongs, is stuck on a single artist eventhough I deleted all those songs. Please help because this is making listening to music a hastle and its extremely time consuming to play a single artist.
