Picture attachment in mail
why when I attach a picture to a Mail email it becomes embedded within the email and PC users can't download it?
Richard
That is mac mail.
Actually when you attach jpg files, there is a nice feature that you can adjust the size of the picture via the drop down menu on bottom right of the message. I like that a lot.
As regards PC users, from your menu edit>Attachments and in sub menu, select windows friendly and attach at end of message.
Also, in your preference, make sure to select plain text under compose panel.
Try and see if this helps. Cheers.

Still no picture attaching in Mail?
I was hoping to see the possibility to attach a picture in Mail but still there is not. I know that I can go into my photos app and mail from there, but what if I am writing an email and then get the idea of attaching a photo from my library? I can't!
just because i have to use windows machine at work, i found out that current "ms word" saves up to 30% of time by autocorrecting misspells and auto-capitalising first sentence letters.
I wonder where you got that number from... out of your hiney, maybe? If you're a touch typist, as I am, typing a capital letter does not take appreciably longer than typing a lowercase letter, since you are pressing the necessary keys with opposite hands at the same time. OTOH, having to fix incorrectly auto-capitalized characters because there was a period in an abbreviation or something similar definitely takes extra time, no matter how you type. (I would not have the nerve to quote a statistic for how much extra time without having a study to refer to.)
If you like it, fine, but don't try to argue that it's more efficient, because it isn't. -
File or Pictures attachment in Mail
Is it possible to attach a file/files or multiple photos in a single email using iPhone 3G?
You can select a single photo only to be sent with a new email message.

How to attach picture to a mail when writing it?
I keep getting stunned by lacking basic functions on my newly purchased Iphone 3G. Today I was writing a mail on my phone and decided that I wanted to attach a picture wich I had taken only to discover that there was no "attachment +" line in the adress bar. I could not believe that there were no attachment option, I mean, WHAT??. Instead I had to go into the library, choose the picture that I wanted and press "send picture in mail" and because of this my "fully written and ready for sending mail" was vanished and I had to start all over again.
Is it just me not finding a secret "attachment" button in the "Mail" application, or has Apple only implemented a one way solution for attaching pictures to the mail?
Can anyone verify this?
ThanksOMG I can almost not believe this. The first question that comes to mind is if this is just sloppy programming, or once again an intentionally lame solution. Really hope this gets fixed in an update, but it seems that hoping is where everything stops.
Well, what can I say?
I will probably have to switch back to my 10 year old Sony Ericcson to perform the miracle art of forwarding SMSès and sending an e-mail with attachments. So much for a high tech "SmartIphone"
Thanks alot guys for clearing this up for me. -
Recently installed Mavericks. Now when I send an email with picture attachment it is received by my gmail account but not received by applel mail. What gives?
Hi Bigt101,
It will be great, if you can provide me with the following info.
which Model printer are you using.
Are you registered to the e-print center.
What email client are you using.
Thanks

Been trying to send 2 emails from Ipad2 with pictures attached from gmail. Both emails have been stuck in my Outbox and gmail continually tries to send but i keep getting a nessage that the gmail server can't be found. Went under settings, checked server and it seems fine. I don't have Wifi @home or else i'd try switching. Any ideas of what could be happenin'?
daviddavidff, we want you to be able to send and receive! If Earthlink has confirmed the outgoing server settings and you can access the email and send without issue from a labtop I would lean away from it being an issue with the account. If you can receive email then we know the device is communicating with the network.
I would try deleting the any email in the outbox folder http://bit.ly/1g1labk and then attempt to send a new email. Send the email to your own email address so we can verify success. Let us know if you can then send email.

How to send a project containing multiple pictures by e-mail?
I have previously used Photoshop Album 2.0 on PC, and have just purchased an iMac and the PSE 6.0 for it.
I have a leisure-time project at hand, where I would like to send some 30 pictures for review for some people.
With Photoshop Album, I could in similar cases include all the photos in a collection and then make a small slide show out of it. the size was circa 2 Mb, with music included. Now when I try to do the same in PSE 6.0, the file size is 38 Mb. That is WAY too big to be sent my e-mail.
What do you suggest - how could I send multiple small resolution pictures by e-mail? I do not want to use web gallery. The pictures do not need to be of high resolution, but something more than thumbnails still.Responding to "is it safe"...
With Flickr or JAlbum you upload your images to a web host and provide a link so another person can view those pictures. Both programs have built-in ftp functions so they upload for you.
I can't think of anything about either that would be unsafe, but your images could be viewed by complete strangers if you don't mark them "private". Normally, you wouldn't care who views your images.
Google Flickr and JAlbum and follow the steps to set up the program. Both very simple. These are just two suggested ways to put your images up for review by other people. There are dozens of other ways to do it. These two are free and simple to use.
If you do want to work in Elements, and send the results as an attachment to email, then a slideshow saved in the .pdf format is the best solution.
If your images are 2mb, then you are trying to send images that are about 2000 px x 3000 px right out of the camera. That's a 10" x 6.5" image at 300 dpi. Your viewer doesn't need that large a file to see the image.
Resize those images to, say, 500 px on the longest side and your viewer will still see the same image in the same detail on his screen. The file will be just over 100 kb.
Save your original in the 2mb size, and use Save As with a different file name for the reduced size images you'll send. -
When I sent an e-mail there is a small picture in the mail which the receiver will see. How do I change this picture? At this point it is an illustration that I have chosen when I installed my new computer but I wish to change it to a picture of myself!
If I understand you correctly, that picture is not one that is actually attached to the e-mail, so nobody else sees it. It is the picture associated with your e-mail address in the Address Book, so Mail displays the picture when it shows the message.
If you want to change this picture, you can do it by double-clicking the square with the picture in it on your card in the Address Book. -
Multiple "picture attached" emails received
Has anyone found a solution to the problem that occurs when you send an email with a picture attachment from the iphone and recipients get 3-5 copies of the email?
The account being a Yahoo account says much. I have read many posts here with ongoing problems with accessing a Yahoo account with the iPhone's mail client since the first generation iPhone was released. Keep in mind if you used the Yahoo account preset on your iPhone when creating the account, this created the account as an IMAP account along with Push access for the account - which is available with the iPhone's mail client only and both protocols are completely new for Yahoo.
The iPhone receiving a transmission failed error message comes from a server, likely from Yahoo's SMTP server.
All I know is I accessed my .Mac account as an IMAP account and a business POP account with my first generation iPhone for over a year before purchasing an iPhone 3G. I send photos regularly with both accounts and I never experienced this problem with my first generation iPhone, and I haven't experienced this problem with my iPhone 3G - with either account.
The iPhone may be involved or the cause of this problem and if so, seems like I would have experienced the same at least once with one of my email accounts over the last 17 months.
I venture to say the problem lies with Yahoo or with Yahoo's SMTP server. -
Creating or opening and attachment in Mail freezes the Dock
On my MBP, when opening or creating an attachment in Mail, the Dock becomes frozen.
Clicking on it has no effect and the white dot remains on Apps that have closed; it is totally frozen. (It acts like a picture of the Dock>)
Restarting clears it.
Sometimes, but not always, Logging out and back in clears it.
I reapplied the SL updater, this time starting up from the upgrade disk.
I have repaired permissions and run Preferential Treatment to look for corrupted preferences, no problem identified.HI Chris,
Quit Mail if it's open
Try dragging your Mail icon up off the Dock. It will go "poof" ... then open your Applications folder and launch Mail. If the Dock isn't cooperating, select the Mail icon and click: Keep in Dock.
If that doesn't work... even though you used PT, locate this file.
com.apple.Dock.plist
/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Drag that file from the Preferences folder to the Trash, empty the Trash and restart your Mac.

My Yahoo mail was working fine until i upgraded to Firefox 10. Emails that have pictures attached to them don't show the pictures on the bottom of the email like they used too. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Fetch data from table and generate attachment than mail it.
Hello Experts,
From couple of day I am searching on Google for a better database procedure that will help me to get data from tables and generate attachment and mail it but i fail.
My Scenario is:
I have a query that will fetch almost 5000 records from database tables. Each record has almost 75 characters
select a.location_code,
a.item_code,
b.description item_desc,
to_char(a.manufact_date,'ddMonyy')mfg,
to_char((a.manufact_date + nvl(b.expiry_period,0)),'ddMonyy')expr,
to_char((a.manufact_date + nvl(b.qurantine_period,0)),'ddMonyy')qrtn,
round(nvl (b.qurantine_period, 0) - (sysdate - a.manufact_date)) days_elapsed,
a.closing_balance_posted quantity
from wms_stock_current_balance_v a, wms_item_setup_mast b
where a.closing_balance > 0
and a.item_code = b.item_code
and a.loc_type in ('RACKING','PICKING','QUICKA','BUNDLED')
and nvl(b.qurantine_period,0) > 0
and round(nvl (b.qurantine_period, 0) - (sysdate - a.manufact_date)) <= 0
order by a.item_code, a.location_code;
Sample data of above query is
LOCATION_CODE
ITEM_CODE
ITEM_DESC

You can use Mail Drop to send files that exceed the maximum size allowed by the provider of your email account. Mail Drop uploads the large attachments to iCloud, where they’re encrypted and stored for up to 30 days.
