Picture Frame Zoom (SonyVAIO Wi-Fi Photo Frame)

Hi...
I went to Sony and they suggested I ask Apple (which I didn't think would do any good) but so here goes anyway... I have a Sony picture frame (and Aperture) but when I have my photos displayed on my frame (through Picasa - a wi fi connection to the said picture frame) the picture frame zooms in on the photo's (a little). Which isn't so bad on some photo's that don't take up the whole frame - but others? It cut's of heads - and I'm thinking I need to "increase" something about the photo's to compensate for the zooming in (no?). Like increase it's aspect ratio or it's resolution or it's dimensions etc... I don't know...
So dose anyone have any idea on what to do? I'm sure it's not an Apple issue - so a direction to turn to would be some help... I've read on Amazon and other places people talking about Resizers and photo converters, I don't know what they are? I can see them available for download.... Is this something that might help me out?
So in closing: Any comments, suggestions and opinions are welcome....
Thank you in advance....
Sincerely
Catharsis

Kodak doesnt support Mac! As simple as that...

    You can't.
You can do it in Find/Change box. Set desired Frame Fitting Options in Object section and run find/change.

Yes, you do this when you export the images from the Library.
    File -> Export
in the Size section, you don't need images larger than the frame size, so you can specify that and in the Jpeg Quality you can select the amount of compression used.

  • Sony dpf-d810 how to get facebook pictures to load on photo frame. get ? photos.

How to change facebook stored photos to use on a sony s-frame dpf=d810.  I only get a large question mark.  Is there a program I can use to access my own phots stored only on facebook.  My computer crashed and I dont have them stored anywhere else.

If a question mark is displayed in index view, the thumbnail data or image file itself may not be supported by the photo frame. If the images are in an unsupported format, then it may be required to convert the files to one of the supported file formats before using them in the photo frame. Refer to page 33 of the supplied operating manual for information regarding the compatible image file formats.

  • Digital Photo Frame df1010v2 - how to download photos in the order they appear on USB?

Photos installed nicely into my df1010v2 digital photo frame, but not in the order I wanted them. I had painstakingly named all of them by date, and they appeared chronologically on the USB drive I copied them from, but they downloaded in random bunches.<br><br>Does anyone know why this happened and whether there is a fix? Pictures are for my 90-year-old mother, and the weird order will confuse her. I do not have frame set to view in random sequence, but that's how they will appear to her<br><br>P.S. Many of the photos are scans of old photos, so setting them to appear by date taken will not work here.<br><br>Thank you for any help!

    Hi,
If you are happy with PSE 6, why not continue to use it?
PSE 13 can display the images in date/time order like PSE 6 does. The time doesn't appear when you hover over a thumbnail but can be displayed below the thumbnail. The best thing is for you to download the trial version (select version 13 from the following link) and try it for 30 days to see if you like it.
    Download Photoshop Elements products | 13, 12, 11, 10
If you use the trial, to see the date and time under each thumbnail you need to go to the View menu in the organizer and ensure that Details is checked.

  • Photo frame export from iphoto

i bourght a digital photo frame recently but am having trouble exportin from my iphoto library.
I need to export to the native resolution of the frame which is 480x234 to optimise the number of photos I can fit on the memory card (any larger is just a waste of memory because the frame shrinks the oversized picture to the frame resolution).
The problem is that when I uncheck the "full-size image box" I can't enter the desired size in the fields below, I get 480x380 as iphoto tried to preserve the 4:3 aspect ratio.
is there any way around this? can I change the aspect ratio to 16:9?
    any help please?
    cheers
    Steve

    Steve:
You can get exactly what you want by using Resize! as follows:
1- create a new folder on the desktop and drag your chosen photo into it.
2 - launch Resize! and under the Box resizing section put in your dimensions. You can also set the quality level for the files also in order to reduce the overall file size even more to what you want. I found that Decent (60) was plenty good enough for the digital frame that I have. It took my 2272 x 1704 files (at 1.7-2MB each) down to 480 x 234 and around 20KB each in size. That helps the frame read and transition the files much quicker.
The application creates a second folder with the resized images. So you can experiment with several settings to get what works best for you.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • IOS 5 - Photo Frame

Just wondering if anyone else is having the same issue...
Since updating to iOS 5, I can no longer use the lock screen photo frame while streaming music/slideshow to the Apple TV2.
Is it because I need to change a setting I'm unaware of?

Wish I had an answer...  I may be having the same problem.  A few weeks after installing iOS 5, I started noticing that the pictures I was taking were looking really pixelated and bad.  Thought something was wrong with the camera.  Then some photos started disappearing, replaced with either blackness or a fuzzy-looking gray photo frame.  Then the ap started to freeze while scrolling.  Then my albums started to shuffle the order around.  Now some albums just disappear temporarily.  I'm still able to sync photos to my Mac, but I just erase them from my phone, because they're useless there now.
Is this similar to what you've been experiencing?

  • Best Resoltion for the 7" Digital Photo Frame

    Hello,
    I have got a
    *Digital Photo Frame II, 7"W, 720 x 480, Sensor Touch, MP3 Player-Funktion PA3637K-1ETC*
The Manual doesn't tell me about the best Resolution for the Pictures to put on.
    on the Web you can Find: 800 x 480 Pixel WVGA-Screen (720 x 480 Pixel sichtbarer Bereich)
The samples are 726x 480 pixel.
    Now my Problem:
When you put Pictures on it - *It cropps a bit on the right and left side and much more on the top and bottom.*
I have tried a lot of sizes. Even on 720 x 480 it cropps.
So my question is : What is the best Resolution for the PICs ?
    Best Regards
    Markus

    Sorry,
    check your calculator: 800:533 is NOT 1.562... Mine Says : 800:533 = 1.5009380863039399624765478424015
That is less wrong than it cut's off.
Try it: take a white pic with 800x533 and draw a black frame of 10 pixels on the border. you won't see it on all sides !
That makes 20 pixels (10 on each side) of 533 cut off ... that is more than 0.0009380863039399624765478424015 error.

  • Wireless photo frame connection to a private ovi a...

    Hi!
I'd like to get a wireless photo frame for home (currently considering Samsung SPF-105V), and give some to close relatives as well. I'd like to configure them so that I can upload a picture from my phone to a private family album in Share on Ovi, after which that picture should appear on all the wireless frames tracking my photo album.
    Now the issues / problems:
    1) I found http://share.ovi.com/feeds/ and was able to connect to RSS feeds on my public albums, private of course not. There's currently a mechanism to send an email link to a private album to a non-registered user, but I'm not aware of a way to construct an RSS or atom feed address in a same way?? I wouldn't need any tight security for this purpose, just keep the photos out of publically searchable indices would be fine. So, a similar solution as the mail-in "!passwd" postfix in the address and no appearance in the Share on Ovi public feeds or searches would be enough.
    2) As alternative solutions, the Samsung frame seems to have special support for Microsoft Live Spaces. I'm not currently using that so no big interest to do so for this purpose. Frame channel (http://www.framechannel.com/) has mail-in support for adding pictures to the feed, but it seems that the incoming pictures must be separately approved by channel owner, which seems like unnecessary extra effort in this case.
    Any creative solutions around?
    Thanks!

After learning a bit more basics over the weekend, I can continue a bit on my earlier post (the problem is not solved yet, though):
    1) Framechannel seems to offer light protection on their RSS-feeds: The feed address contains a username and a PIN-code. This kind of security would be enough for me: Use the mail-in password of a privat album as a password in the RSS-feed of a private album. As this doesn't give very good security, it should be selectable in the album parameters, whether an RSS-feed is created in the first place. Or maybe this is already possible, but I just don't know it?
    2) Framechannel can sign into some accounts (e.g. Flickr, Facebook, the usual suspects) and pull out also non-public material. Having Share on Ovi support in framechannel would also solve my problem.
So, as a next step I'll probably try to address Share on Ovi support on 1) and Framechannel support on 2).
Still, if you know a good solution, which is already available, I'd be glad to know. :-)

  • Digital Photo Frames

OK, how do I get photo's from iPhoto back onto my SD card in my camera?
I've tried to drag and drop an image from the library into the camera source folder but that doesn't work.
I've unmounted my camera while its still on hoping that I can find my camera in the finder but I can't see it.
You see I'd like to use my SD card in a digital photo frame but I can't seem to get the photo's I want, contained in iPhoto, back onto the card.
Can this be done or am I being really stupid?!
Any help would be very much appreciated. Cheers.

    Neil:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. That camera do you have? Does it mount on the desktop as removable media? I found with the Canon cameras I have, they don't mount, I needed to use a card reader and make sure I had the same image name type that the camera used, i.e. IMG_xxxx, and put it in a correctly named folder. This was just so I could view it on the camera. Don't know if it would work in a photo frame on TV. Haven't tried it yet.

  • Rotate photo frames on a page

    hi all
im not sure if this is possible, but my problem is, when i have a landscape photoframe on a page (any template, iphoto 08) and i drop a photo that has been taken in portrait, the frame automatically adjusts.
this is cool for most cases, but sometimes i'd like to keep the photo frame landscape and just have the photo 'cropped' in the frame.
is there any way to 'lock' photo frames to not adjust to the orientation of the photo?
    thanks!
    Sammy

    Sammy:
I've not hear of any way to lock a frame so the photo gets cropped from landscape to portrait. You'll have to do the cropping in iPhoto to make it a portrait oriented image.

  • Wi-fi photo frame?

Does anyone know of a Wi-Fi photo frame that can sync with iPhoto? I would love to hang one up on the wall that would automaticly look at my iPhoto and displays the pictures!!

    Hi Ted2,
The Power Adapter for this Digital Photo frame converts 100-240V AC power to 12V DC power, which is what is needed for this Photo frame. This should mean this would work fine on 220V AC power.
    I hope this helps!

  • When Photo Frame is running, iPad battery discharges

... And that surely ain't right, right?
I have a new iPad (3rd gen, 64gb model) and I sync *ALL* my photos to it. But if I place it on the dock and put the Photo Frame on, it starts to lose battery. I can see it go from 100%, down and down and down by a percentage point every 5 minutes or so. If left, it would eventually discharge completely.
I am running this iPad on an official Apple 10w charger, not something underpowered. So, the question is:
    (Or questions are)
Is this a fault (I suspect yes)
Is there something I can do to remedy this?
Any thoughts appreciated. Otherwise it might be a trip to the Apple store to see a genius (and possibly get an exchange?)

So, no further responses to this, but I have heard anecdotally that this has happened to other people.
But thinking of the logic here:
    - A function of the device is to behave like a digital photo frame.
    - A photo frame typically is left on continuously so that pictures get seen at all times
    - For pictures to be on at all times, it must be charging
    BUT
    - The retina screen needs too much power to be lit *AND* display photos, thus making a mockery of previous 3 points.
It just doesn't make sense to me. If you *know* that the device is not capable of delivering a piece of functionality like this, you disable it, or you warn against its use or you re-engineer it until it works. None of which happened.

  • Using photo frame

Got this digital photo frame; plugged it into my PB and OS X said "Disk Insertion: the disk you inserted was not readable by this computer. Initialize... Ignore Eject". None of those options seems right; what to do?
I did try Initialize... and it brought up Disk Doctor and the device appeared there, but it did not appear on the desktop.
    What to do?

Below is a step by step guide with pictures so keep scrolling.  You'll have to figure out how to apply these steps with other software.
The easiet solution is offered by Ann Bens.  Here is a screen shot of how I used the AME.  Make sure you UNCHECK export sequence and format to jpg or tiff.
Its quicker to use the export frame button on the monitor but if your going to use the end product as a still then you have to spend the same or more time fixing it; the AME is the best solution.  Here is how to fix a jpg using photoshop.
STEP 1 - you'll see this window upon opening the file exported from PPro in PS.
    STEP 2 - You'll see a widescreen picture but ...
once you uncheck "pixel aspect ratio correction" you see it looks squished
STEP 3 you'll want to resize it in the following sequence
Change the pixels from 72 to 300
    B. Change the width to either 10 or 5
    C. UNCHECK "constrain proportions" and change the dimension to 1920 Wide and 1080 Height
Now save the file and its ready to use in most other software and for use with online services like Costco's photo books and printers.
