Hello, i know what you mean when it comes in its small but in my case what i do is just scroll down to the pic and open it up and then it becomes a normal big size. Thats my experience so far with the pictures i receive.

  • Nokia N97 can't send picture message to Nokia 5800...

I have a Nokia 5800 and my partner has a N97 and he can receive my picture messages but he is unable to send to my phone. We have gone through all the trouble shooting with our service providers.
I put my sim card in two other new nokia 5800's and the message didn't come through, I then put my sim card in a different brand phone and I got the picture message! The phone shop said it must be a incompatibility between to two phones, I don't understand how two new nokia's can't send a picture message, has anyone heard about this? Any fixes??
    Thanks

I have the same problem as you with picture messages. I have a friend in Australia who has a Nokia E71 and she cant either. This has happened ever since i have had a Nokia phone both N85 8GB and now my N97.
I havent found a answer and we had no troubles when i had a sony ericsson could send and receive pictures.

  • Sending ringtones to Nokia Surge as picture messag...

So, I just got the Surge without the data plan (for now). On my old phone, I was able to go to mobile17.com, make a ringtone and send it as a picture message and walla! - ringtone on my phone.  However, with the Surge it doesn't give me the option to picture message it.  Does anyone know if there is a way around this without buying a cord to hook up to my computer or go on the mobile web to download a tone?
    Thanks

To be honest I dont know why do you have this problem.
I have tested it with my LG mobile phone and it works perfectly.
Here you can see how I have sent photo to my mobile phone using Toshiba BT stack.
    Does it work for you?

Vodafone say that in the phone 'settings' there should be the options mms APN and edit APN but these are not on the menu.
    Any suggestions please?

go to settings > access point
When first started it will find the settings for yoru carrier and show them as active. Alternatively you can add manual APN here for internet and MMS

  • Nokia 3720 Classic - email and picture messaging o...

    Hi.
Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get email and picture messaging to work on the 3720c via the Orange network?
I've spoken to Orange support four times now and the best they can come up with is change the handset for a different one from their shop. This is not an option as they are twice as expensive and don't sell the 3720c.
I know the 3720c can work on Orange because my mate has his working just fine.
I've been through the normal setup but keep getting a "no network coverage" error even though I know its fine because my mates is working from the same location.
I'm seriously considering dumping Orange and moving to a different provider if I can't get this sorted.
    Cheers

  • PC Suite 6.80.22 and Nokia N80 Failed Backup

    As the title says..
I chose to backup only stuff on my phone (not mem card) and it copied everything except
Message Dialog Box: "Some Content on the phone could not be be read and was not included in the backup"
    SOME?
The log then says that the following wasnt copied:
    Notes
    Calendar
    Contacts
    **bleep**???
It copied all my \sounds\digital directory, but nothing else... whats going on here?
    PS: Backup was via Bluetooth
    v 4.0623.0.41, 26-07-2006, RM-92, Nokia N80 (01)

Sorry, I didn't explain it well enough... when I said that you've got some copyright material on your phone I meant things like the original ringtones which would be copyrighted by Nokia, stuff like that. Your calendar, contacts and notes aren't copyrighted.
When I say to try closing the applications - I was referring to the contacts, calendar and notes applications on the phone. Hold down the menu key to find what applications you currently have running... if you see contacts, calendar and/or notes in the list, select them and then exit them properly using the back/exit buttons to close them.
FYI, if you press the red end call button to get out of the contacts screen (or anywhere else), it doesn't actually close the application, it just takes you back to your desktop and leaves the application running.

  • Problem in delivering Picture Messages through Java SMPP client

I m working on development of SMPP Client, using Java. In its development I didnt used any API from eny vendor, and implemented purely in Java. I am facing one unusual problem in receiving of Picture Messages. Also, I have one C based client application.
    I m sending picture message through both client application(s) to be delivered over different handset(s). I have tested many different cases, but could not conclude to any solution. The behavioral cases are as follows;
When I sent same picture message through Java SMPP client on Nokia 1100, it get received with prompt Picture Message Received. And on viewing it, Message cannot be displayed, is informed and no picture message get displayed. Till now it happens for every caseto this handst, but get properly displayed on Nokia 32xx / 53xx.
Whereas while sending through the C SMPP Client on Nokia 1100, sometime it get displayed and sometimes it doesnt. Same prompts follows on not receiving right picture message while using Java SMPP Client
    I m not understanding why;
It doesnt get delivered correctly a picture message, every time I submits it to deliver on 1100 while sending through C based,
And why It doesnt get delivered correctly at all while sending through Java SMPP client on 1100 whereas it get delivered correctly over other Nokia model handset.
Kindly, anyone make me solve out the prob.

    Hi,
Even we have implemented the Java SMPP client, to sending the picture message as embeded SMS.
If you do not have issue to share the SMPPClient which is sending the picture message, I can look into the code and help you. Let me know, I can share my personal email id.

  • Saving Picture Files on Nokia N8

Does anyone know if I can separate my pictures & films on the Nokia N8. On my previous phones I was able to save each photo type in a separate file. I understand that I can still do this with the N8, but everything still also ends up in the 'ALL' file which I do not like.
For example, is there a way to remove the 'ALL' file and just have separate file for each picture/film type?
    Many thanks for any help.

Not at this point, sorry. I know its really annoying but well i hope something gets done about it soon.

  • Picture messages appear as VIDEOS help!???????????...

    I have a nokia 6500 slide on 3.
When i receive picture messages on my phone it appears as a video where a play button appears and you press it and it can be up to 10 seconds long? This shouldnt happen it should just be received as a normal picture?
When i click on view then objects you can view it as a normal picture message...Does anybody know why this is?
    Thanks.

I think the sender sent you a presentation thru mms. It just means that HAD the message contain 2 or 3 pictures and text, it will automatically flip thru pictures or it would move if its gif and scroll the text when you press play. Since you had one pict, what you saw is the result.

i had deleted some directory n files from the path c:\data\images\ the _PalbTN directory and files in it. I thought it contained useless thumbnails which are using space. so i deleted them. but now i cant view any files in gallery, even if i copy them on phone or on memory card. Will i have to format the phone (which I m very afraid of)help please.
    thanks
    rajen
Lol, never ever delete the tumbnail files, that are to show yout the files (and ofcourse related to phone system).
    Definitely a mistake.
Anyway, try the trick, if fails, try the hard reset.
(You have to back up the phone memory data like contacts, calender etc by PC Suit).

  • Nokia N80 startup problem

hello everyone. i have recently bought a nokia n80. i have been uploading new themes on my cellphone and one of the themes messed up the screen. so i turned off and on my cellphone and this message pops up. it says "Phone start-up failed. Contact the retailer." can someone please help me fix this problem. i just had my cellphone for least then 1 month. i do appreciate if someone can help me solve this problem.
    thank you.

You will need to take this to a Nokia Care Point.
Once your phone is giving the message "contact the retailer" its a fatal error.
You have already lost all phone contents not saved to sim and MMC.
You can find your nearest NCP to you at the Store Locator
Also from the IMEI you gave, your handset holds no warranty in the EU.
It was a handset which was produced in Nigeria.
You will only be able to get that fixed there.

    Thanks

    Hi Cristalnap,
I'm gonna try this one, but do note that getting N80 to connect to complex WiFi area isn't a simple task. Do have a correct expectation.
    Here goes:
    1. Menu, Tools, Settings, Connection, Access points, Options, New access point, Use default settings.
    2. Key in the following:
    -a. Connection name: Your choice.
    -b. Data bearer: Wireless LAN
    -c. WLAN netw. name: Wi-Fi_UniNA
-d. Network status: This marks if the SSID is being broadcasted. If you can search and find the WiFi point before defining this access point, we can say that it is Public, if not it should be Hidden. Or, you can check this with your admin stuffs.
    -e. WLAN netw. mode: Infrastructure
    -f. WLAN security mode: WPA/WPA2
    -g. WLAN security sett.:
    --i. WPA mode: EAP
    --ii. EAP plug-in settings:
---1. Disable everything except for EAP-PEAP and configure it (Options, Configure):
    ----a. General:
    -----i. User certificate: not defined
    -----ii. CA certificate: not defined
-----iii. User name in use: User-configured
-----iv. User name: Key in your user name.
    -----v. Realm in use: User-configured
-----vi. Realm: Key in your realm (you seems to call it area).
    ----b. EAP:
-----i. Disable everything except for EAP-MSCHAPv2 and configure it (Options, Configure):
------1. User name: Key in your user name and area. E.g. user@area or area\user or area/user.
------2. Prompt password: No (Setting to yes had never worked for me. You may want to try it out. )
------3. Password: Key in your password.
    --iii. TKIP encryption: Allowed
Hope this helps. Let us know the result.
    Cheers.

    hi,
maybe you will be able to help me, if you don't mind trying. I got my Nokia N80 a couple of months ago, and WLAN was working perfectly, at home, away (i travel a lot). I live in Canada, and I just returned home after a month in Europe (WLAN worked at the various airports and caffees). For some reasons I don't see my home WLAN any more on the list of available WLANS (I see some others in the neighborhood). At the same time it is showing on my laptop and working just fine. I have to say that while away nobody was at home and WLAN home settings were not changed at all.
I tried to read some of the forum messages here, but nothing similar to give me idea what to do.
    Please help.

  • Nokia n80 firmware upgrade problem

hi, i have an nokia n80 and i-ve downloaded the pc software for upgrading the phones firmware and when remaining 53 seconds before finish phone went off and it doesnt decets my phone anymore...so i can not continue upgrading...the phone now doesnt event power on :X
    What should i do ?
the phone has like 1 year since i baught it...if i go to nokia center i must pay to restore my phone ?
Message Edited by jokerady on 28-Feb-2008 10:03 PM

Sadly something has gone wrong with the update leaving the phone unusable. You can try a hard reset but remove the sim and memory card first.
    Hard reset:
    1. Switch off the phone.
    2. Hold down the following three buttons: Green (the call answer button), * button, and '3' button.
    3. While holding these buttons, press the power button and switch on the phone.
    4. Release when the phone shows the nokia logo or shows other signs of life like the language selction screen.
If this fails the your only option is to get it repaired. If you are in Europe you get a 2 year warranty, not 1 year.

  • Nokia N80 Web Browser: "Web already in use"?

Just got my nokia N80, connected to my WLAN perfectly, I managed to have a couple of hours browsing the internet using the Web browser found under "My Own", I wanted to see if msn Web Messenger would work, after the login the web browser crashes.
Now if i try and get back onto the Web Browser I get a message saying "Web already in use", I've restarted the phone, I've even taken the battery out and restarted but this message still appears, I've googled and searched these forums but I can't seem to find any info on this, does anybody know what the problem is, and why the browser seems to crash on certain pages?

My new E61 was working fine but today when I tried to access the Internet I got a "Web: Already in Use" notice and could not access it. I had to hard reformat of the phone (thanks to T-Mobile tech support)and reinstall all of my email and internet settings. I have read on several user forums that this problem has occurred with some regularity. Obviously I do not want to reformat the phone all the time. Are there any other solutions? One user said they brought the phone into a local Nokia store for a software flash but did not say if it worked. Since I am in US, there is no local store to bring it to. Does have any ideas on how to solve this issue? Shouldn't Nokia be saying or doing something?
