Picture Naming Format

I recently equipped my field crews with iPhone 5C's. Our crews take a lot of pictures, on job sites, and then email them back to us. We have a software program that we use for all of our service work and we upload the photos that the crews send back into the software.
The pictures that are being emailed back to us all have the description FullsizeRendering.jpg. Since the photos are all titled the same we can't import them into our software without downloading them and changing the name of each and every picture. This is a serious waste of time.
The service techs take the pictures, click on the image in the left corner of the camera, select the pictures to send, enter the email address and then click send. They are asked what size they want to transmit the pictures and they have been selecting Medium. It has to be a setting of some sort because I sent pictures with my iPhone 6 at all of the different size choices and didn't have the FullSize name on any of them.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

HI
I was checking through reflector about this issue and what I found out is that when we have above setting Microsoft uses username.I don't understand why but they have used following condition.If the condition is true use accountname otherwise username. Moreover
for boolean value they have hardcoded and sent the value false so this condition can never be true.
booleanvalue && personalSiteConfiguration.PersonalSiteFormat == SiteNameFormat.Username_CollisionDomain
Is this the intended functionality or is a bug from Microsoft. Secondly is there a way how to resolve this

  • Ovi Suite folder naming format on photo sync?

    When I want to sync my photos on my n900 onto my PC, it now dumps everything taken within the same month into the same folder.
    How do I change the folder naming convention/format, for example if I want everything taken today to be in its own folder as opposed to being mixed in with photos taken last week?
    This is a problem now because I use my N900 for photo taking a lot and the folder naming format does not match what I have always used in the past and continue to use with my regular digital camera.
    This was always an option in PC Suite, but doesn't appear to be an option in Ovi Suite, unless I'm missing something. Thanks.

    The problem is that it's creating totally new folder directories and the naming format of the folder is not the way I have all my other photos organized.
    My other photos are arranged in folders by the day they were taken. Ovi Suite creates one new folder for each month and then drops everything from that month into that folder.
    For example:
    My Pictures/2010_07_19 -- this is the format I have all of my other photos from other cameras created when I transfer photos from them to my computer.
    My Pictures/N900/2010-07 -- this is the format that Nokia Ovi Suite is creating for me and there's no way that I see that I'm able to change the naming convention to match what the rest of all my photos are. Everything taken this month would drop into that same folder, which is too difficult to keep organized.
    Am I just missing something as to how I can change the naming convention of the folder when syncing via Ovi Suite?

  • E61i photo naming format

    Hello
    I got e61i and want to know if it's possible to change the way picture and video are named.
    Actually the only choices are by date, 20071122, 20071122(001), 20071122(002) … using the telephone global date format (ddmmyyy or yyyymmdd…), or in the same way with a custom text, CUSTOM, CUSTOM(001) ... and I wonder if it’s possible to have something more like a normal camera, like on the N95 (DSC0001, DSC00002 … or whit a strict long name format yyyymmddNNNN) which don’t restart at the beginning if you remove picture during the day.

    I think only the defaults are supported since the N95 is camera oriented solution so they did it to that model. If you demand for it with a gropu who knows they may add this by a FW upgrade.
    It is normally not possible.

  • No Picture, Same Format

    I have 2 MP4 video files on my PC (OS Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit).  The first one is 23.0 MB/ 09:57 minutes long.  The second 373 MB/ 01:27 minutes (hour and 27 mins long).  I have copied both of them to the miniSD memory card (1 GB) on my Nokia 6700 mobile (via USB cable). Windows Explorer in my OS converts the MP4 files into WMV files prior to copying the videos to my mobile.  The 23.0 MB video files plays with sound and picture on my mobile, but the 373 MB file has sound but *no* picture.  How come 2 video files of the same format (WMV) behave differently? Hope somebody can help me.
    Thanks

    Hi drz22,
    Even when files are of the same format, the audio and video maybe converted and coded differently. Are your MP4 files completely identical? Have you tried converting it into aother playable format for your device to see if that works?
    Video formats that work on the Nokia 6700 are
    MPEG-4
    3GPP formats (H.263)
    Let us know how you get on.

    Hi haZey
    I downloaded and installed Movavi Video Converter (http://movavi.co.uk/videoconverter/) and converted the hour and 27 minuter long mp4 video file to a mpeg file.  Copied it to my Nokia 6700 and it plays with picture and sound! Only one disadvantage, the Movavi Video Converter I downloaded is a free 30 day trial version and it puts watermarks on the converted videos.  It would be nice if there was a free video converter like Movavi that doesn't put watermarks on converted videos.

  • Merging events in iPhoto with pictures named the same in each event? Will I lose the photo or will iPhoto rename the duplicate names?

    I am trying to merge 2 events in iPhoto, but i notice that in the first event my photos are named by my camera as DSC_001, DSC_002, etc.  But the same is true of the photos in the second event DSC_001, DSC_002, etc.  If I merge these 2 events will I lose pictures that have the same photo/file name? Or will iPhoto change the name of DSC_001 from the second event when it merges event 1 & event 2?  I am hesitant, I don't want to lose half of my pictures.

    With iPhoto 9 and later when merging events the files stay in their original folder inside the library so there's no problem with files with the same file name.  It's when you export same named files to the same folder on the hard drive that you may run into a problem.

  • Track naming format

    Hi,
    After I imported a batch of mp3 files, I discovered that some tracks are named:
    *Artist - Album - track# - title.mp3*
    while others are named:
    *track# - title.mp3*
    I let iTunes copy and organize my songs.
    The split seems to be after the letter M, very strange...
    Which is the correct format?
    Regards,
    Les

    Thanks for your answer Chris.
    I discovered something I would like to share: when I added the tracks again from the *iTunes media library*, all the tracknames in the file system changed to the *track# - title.mp3* format!
    I guess the reason for this is that ITunes corrected the tag info after the first import (?)

  • Best picture file format

    I generally don't do photo montages.  However, I agreed to do a 200 pic photo montage for a friend.  Scanned all pics and saved as jpegs - Exported to media encoder and it's taking forever to encode (going on 20 minutes now).  what is the best file format to do this in:  jpeg, bitmap, targa, etc.  I generally don't like to do pics and when I do it's only about 20, so this is 10x the amt.  Thanks for your help.

    This ARTICLE will give you tips, and a bit of background on Scaling still images in PS. Note: the dimensions listed are for an SD DVD Project. If you are doing an HD Project, just plug in your pixel x pixel dimensions.
    Also note that JPEG is a compressed format, and data will be discarded. That is why I use and recommend PSD, and this is especially true if the camera shot JPEG to begin with - double JPEG will look worse.
    Good luck,

  • Itunes file naming format

    Hey all just wondering if anyone can answer a question for as I can't seem to find a definate answer.
    I used to store my music in the format of:
    Artist\Album\CD1\track name-artist.ext
    taking out a folder step as neccessary.
    Now I've decided to let itunes manage my files. However rather than simply enable that option and let itunes do it's damage I want to clean them up as much as possible beforehand, a lot I got from friends so they are a bit messed.
    I think the new format goes as such:
    Artist\Album\track # track name.ext
    then with compliations
    Compliations\Album\track # track name.ext
    however what about albums that have more than one disc?
    Is it Artist\Album\disc #-track # track name.ext or Artist\Album\CD #\track # track name.ext?
    If someone could let me know all the different formats that would be great.
    thanks

    Multi-disc albums are done as:
    Artist\Album\disc #-track # track name.ext

  • Help me!  converting to pdf from word, missing pictures and formating?

    I wrote a book, was able to create a press quality pdf without any problem during my free trial of acrobat pro xi, now that I have made edits and have bought acrobat, everytime I create a pdf from this (large) word file, some of the images are missing, some text is blurry, and my formatting is off.  It's maddening because it worked so easily before.
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Also, for a company that charges so much for their products that they basically have a monopoly on, it's very annoying that I can't get some sort of tech support on the phone and this appears to be my only option.  VERY ANNOYING.
    Anyhoo... thanks for any help from the forums/experts.
    -Chris

    I don't know what cause this and it's really annoying. I met the same problem when converting pdf from .docx file.
    The solution is, re-save your .docx file (Word Document) into .doc file(Word 97-2004 Document) first. Then save the .doc file as pdf. It worked for me.

  • IPhone 4S Camera Roll picture naming – reset after firmware update

    Since I updated my iPhone 4S with iOS 7.0.3, it reset the counter on my picture names, starting again on IMG_0001.JPG, so not only I lost the sequence on my pictures but am also having a really hard time importing pictures to the same folder on my computer, since I have a lot of pictures with the same names...is anyone else having this problem? Also, could this be happening because my last picture before it reset was IMG_9999.JPG?

  • How does one change the date format for PlayMemories Home folders?

    I am using PlayMemories Home Version 2.0.00.11271 and have many folders within it which contain only photographs imported from my Sony DSC-H9.  Unfortunately, PlayMemories Home insists upon dating all folders in a month/day/year manner; and this makes little sense if one wishes to have the folders listed in logical chronological order.  How can I change the date format to year/month/day?  Changing the name of each folder, one by one, will take a very long time!  Your helpful advice in this matter will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you. System information:
    Operating system: Microsoft Windows XP Professional
    Service pack : Service Pack 3
    Memory: 1.5 GB
    Processor:         Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.86GHz
    Max. clock speed: 1.86
    Manufacturer: IBM
    Model: 1847W76
    System language setting: English (United States)
    User language setting: English (United States)

    I too thought that the folder naming format was obviously wrong and couldn't find a way to change it. I do agree that placing photos in folders according to when they were taken is a great idea. I had been considering writing some software to do just that. After discovering that PlayMemories does it, I had it re-import all my photos. Then I wrote a small Perl script to rename all of the folders into year-month-day format. Included here is the Perl script. It only acts on a single folder - use it on the root folder where all the PlayMemories folders are. It will rename all folders currently in a month-day-year format. I used it without problems but of course there is no guarentee that it is error free. This should work with any common version of Perl. Tom # There should be one command line argument: the directory to act upon
    if ( scalar(@ARGV) == 0 ){
     print "Usage: RenameDirs <dir>\n";
     print " Where dir is the directory containing the directories to rename.\n";
     exit;
    $mydir = $ARGV[0];
    chdir $mydir or die "Couldn't chdir to $mydir: $!";
    opendir(ROOTPHOTODIR, ".") or die "Failed to open the pictures directory $mydir: $!";
    @allphotodirs = readdir ROOTPHOTODIR;
    closedir ROOTPHOTODIR;
    foreach $dir (@allphotodirs) {
     if ( -d $dir ) {
      print "$dir is a directory";
      if ( $dir =~ /^(\d{1,2})-(\d{1,2})-(\d{4})$/ ) {
       print " and has the proper format: month $1 day $2 year $3 and will be renamed to ";
       $newname = sprintf "%4u-%02u-%02u", $3, $1, $2;
       print "$newname\n";
       rename $dir, $newname or die "failed to rename $dir to $newname: $!";
      else {
       print " but is not of the proper format\n"
     elsif ( -f $dir ) {
      print "$dir is a file\n";
     else {
      print "$dir is neither a directory nor a file\n";

  • Exclamation mark instead of pictures (sophisticated)

    Yep,
    I have actioned some suggestions and tried some tricks - w/o success. I have no more idea and seeking for help here now.
    The problem can be reduced to one thing in iPhoto 11: while some pictures are alright, some others in the same event just show an exclamation mark when enlarging them. Lets say picture named "cimg0700.jpg" is ok, but when enlarging "cimg0699.jpg" the exclamation mark is shown. Both pictures are in the same folder!
    In my desperation, I already did an "chmod -r 777" against the folder which contains my iPhoto Library. The iPhoto Library is located at
    "/Users/Shared/Bilder/iPhoto Library". I have also rebuild the library using the build in feature of iPhoto. No success.
    I already suspected Lion to have something to do with it. Since installing Lion I have all kind of strange trouble with my MacMini.
    Does anyone has an idea how I can recover from this situation?
    1000Thx! As I already wrote - I have absolutly no idea what to do next

    Then the third option is your next step:
    Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
    This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
    To create and populate a new *iPhoto 08* library:
    Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
    In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
    Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
    Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
    Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
    When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
    In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.
