Picture playback order in iPhoto

when I have created an album in iPhoto and I press the "slide show" button at the bottom center of the screen,  iPhoto plays the album last picture first (in reverse order).   This never happened until the most recent release.   I have tried to change this,  but can't.  Am i doing something wrong?

Larry,
This will work but it means I am setting up a slideshow in addition to the album.   In the prior version of iPhoto an album would display the pictures in the order they are in ithout requiring this additional step.  Yuor solution works.   thanks.

I have 980 pictures to order thru Iphoto, want to order one each of all in size 4x6, do I have to put quantity of one by each picture or how do I tell it to order one of each so I don't have to individually mark each one

From what I've learned by testing it seems you have to put in the quantitiy for each photo.  Be sure to send a feature request to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html.

  • I am ready to order my iphoto picture book, but I want to change the binding from wirebound to hardcover.  Does anyone know how I can do that without losing my already assembled photo pages?

I am ready to order my iphoto picture book, but I want to change the binding from wirebound to hardcover.  Does anyone know how I can do that without losing my already-assembled photo pages?

Yes - select the book and duplicate it (Command - D) in case of problems - open it and click change theme and select the theme and the new style of binding
Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.
then order after you have carefully checked the preview

  • I am trying to order an iphoto picture album. A window comes up asking me to redo my acct info. I have done this repeatedly to no avail. I went to store, then to account, enabled the quick click but this did not help either.

Can you help? I am trying to order an iphoto album but a window comes up asking that I check my account info. I have done that, it is correct, and the quick click is enabled. All info is correct but it will not acknowledge it or take my order.

Perhaps it would be helpful for you to view the page source code of this page
    http://www.alanwork.com/
As you can see, the submenu code links are immediately below the top level code, and are
wrapped in their own  <UL> </UL> tag pairs.
    Hope that helps

  • Preview yellow triangle pictures before ordering a book

    Just for the record
There has been some discussion about "how can I preview the file that is sent when I order a book", and how does it look different from the pictures when viewed in iPhoto.
Go to share<email, and you'll get an email with that file, which then can be previewed in, well, "preview".
    Does this help anyone?

Beware that even with a PDF preview your screen resolution is 72 dpi while about 150 dpi is the minimum most people will accept for decent quality printing (180 dpi is the point the yellow warning come on) and some people do not accept less than 300 dpi prints - so what you see on your screen may look better than the print due to the different display tequniques -- if the yellow warning is on your print will not be optimal and if you go ahead and order Apple probably will not stand behind their quality guarantee for those prints that gave a warning

  • Can I have the name stamp on the picture i edit on iPhoto

Can I have the name stamp on the picture i edit on IPhoto?

Do you mean put text onto the photo? Using a plug-in like Border FX yes, or an external editor
In order of price here are some suggestions:
    Seashore (free)
    The Gimp (free)
    Graphic Coverter ($45 approx)
    Acorn ($50 approx)
    Pixelmator ($50 approx)
    Photoshop Elements ($75 approx)
There are many, many other options. Search on MacUpdate. You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.

  • Picture playback quality

I have downloaded pictures (jpeg) files into Iphoto, then create a slideshow in Iphoto and it will start Idvd to burn the project. All works well. But when viewing the DVD on TV if you have alot of horizontal, vertical or diagonal lines you seem to get movement in that area of the picture when veiwed on TV. The playback seems to be perfect on the computer.
    Any ideas
    Rolly

Sounds like an interlacing problem. A TV image is actually made up of two slightly different images containing the even number scan lines and the odd number scan lines that alternate every 1/60 second. With a sharp digital image, switching back-and-forth between the two slightly different images results in flicker.
There are several programs (Photoshop is one) that will let you deinterlace your still images - deinterlacing replaces the even scan lines with the odd scan lines or the odd scan lines with the even scan line. The resulting image won't be quite as sharp on your computer, but won't flicker when put on a DVD and viewed on a TV set.

  • Ghost pictures after upgrading to iPhoto 9.2.3

I had to reload my external hard drive onto my Mac Pro after I needed a new harddrive. When opening iPhoto, it told me I had to upgrade in order for iPhoto to open so I did. Most of my photos & albums are there. However, there are a few albums that have "ghost" pictures in them. The album says it has the correct number of pictures in it and there are spaces/icons there for them, but the pictures are just black. When I scroll through quickly, I get a flash of the pictures but they stay black when I stop. I tried reloading all the pictures from my camera and they uploaded to the "Photos" window, but they are not in the "events" window at all. Any ideas?

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to rebuild the thumbnails. It can take 3 or 4 goes for this to work

  • When I transfer photos as events, they change their order from iPhoto on my Mac, how do I stop this?

When I transfer photos as events, to my iPad they change their order from iPhoto on my Mac, how do I stop this?

    Thank you for your response.
I am sorry I should have said Image Capture not Previews. The files end up as duplicates on my desktop or in Pictures. I was told by someone that the same thing happens in iPhoto as well as not being able to select which photos to save and that using Image Capture should be better.
My iPhoto is version 8.1.2 and Image Capture is 6.0.1.
    Thanks

  • Problem with order in iPhoto

problem with order in iPhoto. I can't buy a card, because there comes an Message "Ihre Karte enthält offenbar Standardtext, der noch nicht bearbeitet wurde. Gedruckte Karten enthalten diesen Text nicht. Möchten Sie fortfahren?" What should I do?

That message means that you have text boxes that have not been used.  The holding text that appears in the box will not be printed. But if you want to get rid of the warning just put a space in the text box.
OR, check to see if the card layout has the same page but without a text box.  Most do.

I have Iphoto '09, version 8.1.2 (424). I am having an identical problem.  All my pictures are imported into Iphoto when I downloaded them from my camera.  Until recently, I thought that the pictures were actually saved in the library.  Since I need to crop my pictures for the web, and Iphoto doesn't do that, I purchased Photoshop Elements to do that.  To my surprise, when I try to get a picture from Iphoto to Photoshop, it can't be done. That was when I realized, after wasting a lot of time, that the photos are not in the Iphoto library.
I started naming the pictures on Iphoto so I had a recognizable file name to open on Photoshop. Couldn't find it.  I looked in the Backup folder and the Transfer software folder (I have a Nikon camera), and the names I entered in the Iphoto display, could not be found.
When I am trying to upload a photo to the web, I get the Finder folder showing  with an active folder called "Photos" under "Media", which only displays Iphoto and PhotoBooth.  This is a folder name that I cannot find in my HD anywhere when I look for it.  If I edit a picture with Photoshop, I am not going to save it back to Iphoto (not sure whether it will work properly).  How do I get my folder of edited photos to show when I want to upload a picture to the web?
Where (the name of the folder) do I find the pictures I see displayed on the Iphoto library, including any name changes, keywords added, and so on?

See my response to your other post.

I have been working on a wedding slideshow for days and have over 3,000 pictures in albums on iPhoto.  It suddenly will not open without upgrading to Aperture and I can't find any of my photos!!!!  I need these photos, to complete the video, not to mention I don't want to lose them. I have had trouble ever since upgrading  to Maverick.

    Try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window.
    2 - Run Option #4, Rebuild Database.

  • Problems submitting order via iphoto

    Hi,
I have a problem placing orders with iphoto. Ordering procedure ok till sending files. Then nothing happens. Internet, email, itunes, account everything ok. security - firewall ok. husband is having same comp. and no problems with his or my account when ordering prints, calendars or books. on my computer its seems impossible. ilife 08 already removed and reinstalled, problem stays the same. helpdesk till now unable to help me.
I hope some one can help me, and if possible ASAP
    Thanks

Try trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    Regards
