Congratulations on the new Mini. Are you saying you tried burning and it does not play, or do you want to burn it only for the computer to be able to play it?
OS X Mountain Lion: Burn a CD or DVD may help.

  • I have just updated itunes to 10.7 and now my videos and flims will not play. I get a message saying itunes has stopped working. Can you help

I have just updated itunes to 10.7 and now my videos and flims will not play.

This helped overcome the crash problem, but (as reported before), I still have to start iTunes in Safe Mode in order to watch any videos. This has been the case since 10.5.
The regular mode behavior has changed a bit - instead of the progress bar moving to the end of the video, showing no video but playing the audio for about three seconds, it now leaves the progress bar where it is ... but the rest of the behavior hasn't changed.
Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit on an HP dv8t quad-core laptop w/ 8 GB RAM, running nVidia GeForce 230M with 1 GB video RAM.
Thanks for your prompt response to the original problem posted above. At least now I'm back where I started from before I upgraded to 10.7. Not optimal, but I've finally gotten used to doing a Ctrl-Shift-click to run iTunes.

  • Some videos on YouTube will not play

As of a few days ago some of the videos on YouTube will not play I tried IE(I stopped using after it ask for an update) ,but then I had to use google chome and I hate it, but the videos played. Its not every video, and some times it's the same video I just played not to long ago. I fear that soon I might not be able to view most videos on YouTube. I cleared my cache, made sure everything it up-to-date, although Silverlight-plugin will not update, no matter what I try to do( I hope that is not the reason, because Silverlight won't up-date.) I'm am not sure when this problem first arose, at first I though it was Google/YouTube having issues, but it seems like Google's browser works fine on the videos that do not play on Firefox. What can I do, I need Firefox to work, I can't bare to move to another browser.

    A few other thoughts:
    (1) For a video where this happens, does the problem persist if you try reloading a few times using Ctrl+Shift+r?
    (2) Is there any difference in how you connect to Youtube between your browsers? You can check Firefox's connection setting here:
"3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > Network mini-tab > "Settings" button
The default is "Use system proxy settings" but you also could try "No proxy".
    (3) Have you received any SSL-related errors, such as pages reporting a certificate problem and requiring you to make an exception, or missing styles or functionality on secure sites?
    (4) If you opted in to the html5 player, is there a pattern of the problem videos being in one format or the other (HTML5 player vs. Flash player)? https://www.youtube.com/html5

    Try:

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and videos and resync

  • Iphoto will not play my videos

After I import my videos into iphoto, they look like they are in there, but the will not play. I'm very worried as these are videos of my daughter as a baby. Some of them are 6 or more years old and used to play, now they won't. Others are new and have never played. HELP???

Download and install the QuickTime Player 7 for Mac OS X v10.6.3 or later and then try playing them again in iPhoto.

  • Iphoto will not play H.264 video: error message "The operation couldn't be completed. (OSStatus error -101.)" Any suggestions to fix?

Hi, I am on iphoto 11 version 9.2, Mac OS 10.7.5 using a macbook Pro 2.8Ghz Intel.  All of a sudden I cannot play video (H.264) on iphoto.  I get the message "The operation couldn’t be completed. (OSStatus error -101.)".  I rebuilt the iphoto database and videos played once, since then, they will not play and I continue to get the error message, even if I rebuild the database.
Any thoughts or helpful suggestions from anyone gratefully received.

    Hi Terence,
    Thank you for your help.
My saved iphoto library is in iphoto 09 and I have now iphoto 11 in my iMac as I upgraded from OS X Lion Mountain to OS X Mavericks.
    Thanks

  • IPhone video H.264 will not play in iPhoto '11 Slideshow

    Hello,
I use iPhoto to organize videos and .jpgs; I take videos both with a Sony camera and my iPhone. I often trim videos in iPhoto and then play them as part of a Event or Album, along with .jpgs, using the SlideShow feature before moving on to iMovie or Keynote. Recently I have encountered difficulties with iPhone H.264 videos, particularly in vertical format -- they simply won't play in the iPhoto simple SlideShow and lock it up (a simple X then ends the SlideShow and iPhoto is no longer locked). The vertical iPhone videos work in iMovie if I simply move them there. I have not detected any problems with the Sony videos, which are invariably horizontal. I am not experiencing any other iPhoto issues although my library is >125GB.
         Any Suggestions?
        Thanks for your thoughts.

    léonie,
         @#$^$%^ Computers!
After I realized I could not determine the frame rate (to respond to your post), out of frustration I went back, restored the most troublesome video to original, closed iPhoto, re-opened iPhoto, re-trimed the troublesome video, and .... yep, you guessed it .... it worked fine. It had to be something in the trim process.
I haven't taken time to check the others that were problematic, but I'm confident that was the problem.
@#% how much of my time; how much of your time.....but, still far better than the years I spent watching a rotating hourglass.
Thanks for your interest, your offer to help, and my best to you. (And, my apologies for failing to include the accent grave in your name previously.

  • IPhoto will not play portrait movies

    hi all.
uunfortunately I am unable to play any movie that is in portrait mode. Anyone ever heard of this before? Landscape videos play fine.
ALso. If I import them into a new library I get an error staying the file is I recognizable.
    Thanks. P

    Hi Toad,
Thanks for the assistance.  Yes, we definitely can open the video directly.  It seems my iPhoto is having some serious trouble.  As of about two weeks ago I have been unable to load any movies into the software at all.  Usually this all comes directly from my iPhone; which I have never experienced trouble from.  All of a sudden with the new iPhone 6 any video I take will not import.  Any which way I import them, from GoPro flash card, or iPhone 6, or directly from Finder, nothing .... lame
It turns out now that any video shot in portrait will no longer play.  I have tried everything to resolve this ...
    1. all four options in iPhoto repair
    2. new library
    3. different/new user profile
    4. terminal command to rebuild cache file
    5. upgrade to Yosemite
    6. upgrade to iPhoto 9.6
still nothing.  I don't have any QuickTime plugins, no Piran, or anything else .. I'm completely stumped.

  • IPhoto will not play song purchased from iTunes in slideshow

IPhoto reports the song as not being authorized on this computer.
When I go to iTunes the songs are all authorized to play on this computer, and they do play in iTunes.
    Here's the message from iPhoto:
This computer is not authorized to play "17 Good Riddance.mp4".
If you purchased this song you can open itunes and authorize this computer to play this song by entering your Apple ID and Password".
When I do this, nothing changes. I can repeat the process a number of times and the purchased song will not play.
Anyone else deal with this and find a solution?

I did the burn and re-import and that works just fine. Would like to resolve this so I do not have to do that work around though.
Haven't posted at the iTunes forum as it seems like more of an iPhoto problem since the songs in question play fine in iTunes. It seems that iPhoto is the program having trouble with the DRM on slideshows.
I'll check around over there though.
Thanks everyone for such quick responses.

  • IPhoto will not play iTunes music in slideshow

Slideshow I created in iPhoto will only play theme music.  When I select my music from iTunes, the slideshow does not play the music. I have made dozens of slideshows before without this problem.  Seems to be a bug with iPhoto now.  Any suggestions??

Assuming this is for iPhoto on your Mac:
Launch iTunes use the File -> Library -> Organize Library -> Reorganize Library menu option. Then quit and relaunch iPhoto.
Credit to user keysandfood who found this solution.

  • Quicktime videos on web will not play

on one website in particular, the quicktime videos will not play. on another website, they will.

This won't work because you have to pay to view the videos. However, I was told that others can view the videos.
I discovered that if I disable my security software, the Web protection part, then I can view the videos. I tried just typing in the website URLs as "exceptions" to the web protection, but that did not work. perhaps my security software firm can help.

  • TS1717 music video downloaded but will not play

i just downloaded a music video, but will not play. Comes up as a blank screen. Any ideas ?

Hi c, well my first thot is that it didn't install. You can verify this at www.adobe.com/software/flash/about
Just a word of advice, if you continue trying to implement a solution before you know what the problem is,
you are just creating a worse situation.
Post back with what operating system are you using?
    Which Browser and version?
Post back with that info please and advise what the link said.
    Thanks
