Pictures and Hyperlinks in Mail

I would like to know how i can insert a picture / a graphic in a mail without having an attachment. Example:
"Here you see a house:
<picture>
We spent two days there"
The mail program changes the inserted picture in an attachment.
And I would like to be able to change a word in my text into a hyperlink. Example:
"The link to the webpage is <here>".
The mail program inserts the hyperlink in an extra line - no chance to use a word or even a picture.
All these features were possible in Netscape Navigator 4.7. I am afraid that the brand new mail program of Apple is just this - new but less effective concerning the layout!

All I can tell you for certain is this works for me using the US/English localizations of Mail 2.1 & the OS, so I must use its terminology as a guide for further troubleshooting.
What happens when, using the drag & drop technique described, you insert an image into a new message between two paragraphs? For me, even if the message format is initially plain text, dropping the image inline changes it to rich text & displays the image in place.
However, if the message is initially plain text, for me highlighting text & adding a hyperlink looks like it works (the text is underlined & colored blue), but on sending or saving it as a draft, it remains plain text & the link is lost. Since I have the Composing preference set to plain text, I must first use the Format menu item "Make Rich Text" to get everything to work as expected.
So, in this case, it is a good idea to check the Format menu to see what message format you are using. (Whichever format follows "Make" in the menu item is the one you are not using, so you would want to see the German equivalent of "Make Plain Text.")
The only other thing I can think of that might be a problem for you is if you are not using a complete, valid URL form for the link. To test this, what happens if you compose a new message with the word "Apple" highlighted in its body & linked to "http://discussions.apple.com/" by entering that text into the sheet that drops down from the new message's title when you choose "Add Hyperlink..." from the Edit menu?

Sorry to hear you are having a similar problem. Last night I went to the tool bar at the top of iphoto, clicked on "File", then clicked "Browse Backups" in the drop down menu.    I have an external hard drive that is set up to Time Machine.   The Browse Backups opened the iphoto pages in the Time Machine. I selected a date one day ahead of the day I performed the now infamous update, and it showed my iphoto library as it had existed that day.   I then clicked "Restore Library" at the bottom right corner of the Time Machine screen.   Roughly 2 hours later my iphoto was back to normal.   When I opened iphoto there was a message saying I need to upgrade my program to be compatible with the new version of iphoto(version 9.2.1). I clicked "Upgrade" and within seconds it had done whatever upgrading it needed to do.
The only glitch in the restoration was that it restored the library as it appeared last week, so I no longer had photos I had imported this past weekend.   I simply went back to the Browse Backups in the drop down menu, when Time Machine opened I selected the page showing my pictures from this weekend and again said to Restore Library.   Roughly 45 minutes later the library was restored including the most recent photos.
I am now a happy camper.
I don't know if any of this will be of help to you because your email says you are having trouble with photos imported after the upgrade was performed.   Have you had any pop up notices when you first open iphoto, that tell you you need an upgrade to be compatible with the new iphoto?     If so have you clicked "upgrade"?
Good luck Liz, if you have Time Machine running as a back up to your library, maybe you wil be able to get help there, by following my instructions above.   Otherwise,   good luck with your investigations.   I'd be interested in hearing how you make out.

Assuming that your operating systems are as steated in your signatures, you both may find it helpful to remove the account from Mail Preferences/Accounts and then set it up again following the instructions here:

I tried to email three pictures and the mail keeps trying to send without sending. Even after shutting down the iPad when I reboot it goes right back to trying to send the email.

Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Or quit the mail app and the settings app and restart the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

Hyperlinks from mail slow to open

Whenever a hyperlink in mail is selected mail goes into a 'Not responding' mode for 45 to 50 seconds before opening. Mail will then continue to work normally until another hyperlink is selected.

Unless some cron script or other utility rebuilds mailboxes, never. I just rebuilt them and will keep you up to date.

How can i send multiple videos and photos, via mail, at the same time?

you allowed to send only one video or 10(+) photos via mail.
but can you send both at the same time? so 10(+) photos and a video (or more than one) in one mail?
because if my mom has birthday pictures or something like that. She likes to be able to send it directly from her iphone to every person she knows in just one mail.

Those restrictions are generally part of the email provider, not just the phone. Attachments are restricted due to size, bandwith use, etc. Trying to send that much information in an email attachment is even restricted on a computer. Sharing via photo sites is generally a better option for large amounts of pictures and large video files.

Can't Change Account picture and Stuck in WIndows Update on Windows 8.1 Pro

I am facing problem on changing my account picture and windows update, both of these issue was gave me a head ache of searching best solution, but none of all of the techie "solved forums" for these both problems was solved my problems.
I had first clean install this Windows 8.1 Pro N to my laptop, and tried to change my Account Picture but personal settings is not opening, I followed all instructions from forums but none of those tricks works for me.
Now trying to Update my Windows, another problem it was stuck in Preparing to Install, another extensive searching from the internet forums, another no lucky to solve this problem, although some people works, but in mine, no luck.
Better to move down again to Windows 7.

My pc crashed and I lost all my pictures and music that was stored on the pc. Now i have a new pc and when i connect to itunes using my password all my music and photos are not available. they appear to be lost.

Your content will only be where you put it. It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
You can transfer itunes purchases from your iphone: File>Device>Transfer purchases.
You can import your pics taken with the iphone as you would with any digital camera.
You can e-mail the other pics to yourself, they will never be of the original quality.
You can out a unique contact and calendar entry on the computer. You should get the option to merge the data when you sync.

Sounds like you got a store demo. Look in your settings and see if you see "Demo Mode/Demonstration Mode" or something similar.

Hyperlinks in mail not working

Bit of an odd problem. If I click on a hyperlink in mail with Safari closed it does nothing. Again if I right and select the open option from there it does nothing. If Safari is open, irrespective of what page it's on, Safari opens in front of mail, but doesn't take me to the page it just stays on the page it opened at.. It seems to stem from my installing Chrome, which I have now uninstalled using 'CLEAN MY MAC'. When I go into Safari preferences I now expect to only see one default web browser, but the Chrome option still appears. I have tried resetting Safari. Can I delete and re install Safari or is there a plist or something that is corrupt.

"CleanMyMac" is a scam and a common cause of instability and poor performance. The developer's instructions don't completely remove it. Follow those instructions, then do as below.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.macpaw.CleanMyMac2.Agent.plist
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Repeat with this line:
/Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/com.macpaw.CleanMyMac2.Agent
Restart the computer and empty the Trash. Never again install "CleanMyMac" or anything like it.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select

from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode. All other data will be preserved.

Hyperlinks in Mail?

I am a writer and send out links to my Internet articles to a mailing list. I assumed all received links were hyper links. A friend with a Mac was not receiving them as hyperlinks when I was sending them from my old G3 in Outlook Express. I am still sending to that list from my G3. I address them to myself with the mailing list in the bcc field.
Now, I saw one of them on my G5 and the link was not hyperlinked in Mail. Why is this? I do get hyperlinks in Mail from other sources. I find Mail kind of buggy.
For example, I still send from the G3 using OE because the mailing list groups did not import to mail as group lists. The group lists were lost. I did not want to rebuild those lists of over 500 addresses manually.
Can the groups be imported??

edit>link is all that I am aware of, though when I use it, I copy and paste the web address in lieu of typing it in. Hopes this helps some.
