Pictures become blury when on the Timeline

Hello - This is strange. I have pictures in my browser. If I double click on the picture in the browser it opens up in the viewer, and the picture is crisp, like it should be. Then if I drag that picture either from the browser or the viewer and put it on the timeline it gets blurry. I have deleted and tried this numerous times, but it shows up blurry once it gets on the timeline. Even if there is nothing that the pictures is on top of. How can I make the picture crisp like it should be. Thank you!

In Sequence - Render Selection all of them are checked, and in Sequence - Render All , all of them are checked. Then in both of them I have clicked on Render Selection - Both and Render All - Both. The pictures look the same.

FCPx is crashing/exiting when modifying the timeline.  Happens randomly few times an hour - sometimes more.  I updated all apps except going to YOSEMITE and it still crashes.
I`ll paste a log report below for what its worth.
Is there any apple staff that look at logs or is it just community aid?
    Thanks anyone who can advise!

Why don't you convert all the old 16 bit code into 32 bit code and
create one application where the various parts all know about each
other? I don't think that there's any way to coordinate an old 16 bit
LV and a new 32 bit LV application so that they don't step on each
other driverwise like they appear to be doing. I don't think that the
two LabVIEW's even know that the other exists!
Alternatively, get a second computer to run the 16 bit code on and
make the two apps communicate with
each other using TCP/IP or serial.

  • When preview the timeline, audio will be noise.

    Hello.
I have an experiment to be placed in the timeline, the audio of different sampling frequency.
However, when previewing the timeline, you will hear a noise.
    48kHz based sequence + 48kHz footage = OK!
    44.1kHz based sequence + 48kHz footage = NOISE!
    I've created a sample project.
    Will you try someone?

  • I am unable to select any title or picture and drag it to the timeline

I was working with this proyect normally and suddenly it stopped me from doing it. Please help!!!
I have the little hand as the cursor, I do not know if that might be teh problem.

iMovie'11 on a mac.... The project is not long at all... just 4 minutes long, only pictures and titles, no videos included. It is very strange, I tried to reset as you said, and it worked perfectly afterwards, now it is doing it again and again, it gets frozen and then I cannot drag the titles or pictures into the timeline above. It is doing weird stuff .... for example, I am working normally in the project and then I add a title, when I play the project the title that I placed appears over a picture... or sometimes it appears completely black. I know I am not adding the title over the picture....so do you think there is something wrong with the app itself?
    Thanks for your help.

  • Footage becoming grainy when added to Timeline

    Newbie here.
I recently switched cameras from a Sony handycam to a Nikon 5D100.
Looking at the footage in the viewer it's crisp and clear, but when I put it on the timeline it becomes blurry and grainy.
I converted the footage from a .mov to .mp4 thinking FCE didn't like the Nikon 5D100 format, but I'm having this issue with both formats.
    Any suggestions?

The reason the video becomes blurry is that your source media (from the camera) does not match your FCE sequence settings (easy setup).   FCE is designed only for certain video codecs, specifically QuickTime/DV and QuickTime/Apple Intermediate Codec.
When you capture video directly from a camcorder, FCE can ingest DV, AVCHD and HDV video.  DV video is directly imported into QT/DV clips; but in the high-def (AVCHD/HDV) capture process, FCE converts AVCHD and HDV video to QuickTime/Apple Intermediate Codec (QT/AIC).
If you don't capture directly from a camcorder you have to make sure your video clips conform to QT/DV or QT/AIC before using them in Final Cut Express.
The D5100 records video as H.264 but it's NOT AVCHD.   You need to convert these clips to QuickTime/Apple Intermediate Codec before importing them into FCE.    Use either MPEG Streamclip or Clipwrap to convert the video.
In FCE you need to use one of the AVCHD Easy Setups that matches how you shot the video in your DSLR, for example 1920x1080i30.   (Note that FCE does not support 24fps, and the only mode in which it supports progressive video is 720p)

  • Forwarded or copy pictures become "pixlated" when using mail

When I copy a picture or forward a picture received through my mail account (via AOL) it becomes "pixlated" even though the picture is fine when received and of good size. I have contact Apple and they have no answer. If I use Safari, then go into my AOL account and copy or forward the same picture it is fine. Any ideas how to resolve?

Sounds like they aren't really being copied to the NAS from the Mac. Like the Mac is making aliases of them or something.
In your post you say " if I copy the folder with all the hidden .jpgs over to my PC, I can even see them there." Was that supposed to read I CAN'T even see them there instead of I CAN?

  • Anyone had video just not play when on the timeline?

Video is just not playing when pulled down to the timeline.  Seems to resolve itself for a bit after I reboot the program.

Using optimized media should be fine to work with given those specs.
Does the problem happen often? When you say it doesn't play, I'm not exactly sure what you mean.
One thing to check for is that the timeline scrollbar hasn't moved (vertically) so that the issue isn't just that you can't see it due to a scrolling issue. This has happened to me a few times -- especially when zooming in/out. I think it's a bug. But all you have to do is scroll up to get your clips back into view.

  • Crash when scrolling the timeline

    this happens every single time:
if I zoom on the timeline, then I scroll to the right (to reveal next edits), Premiere crashes. if I zoom to the left it doesn't crash.
sometimes it says "sorry Premiere has to shut down we'll try to save the project", while other times it simply crashes and the default Apple crash report appears.
this happens on CC 2014.1 and latest 2014.2 and it's very frustrating because I have to use workarounds in order to move through the timeline.
    I'm on OS X 10.9.5, on a new Mac Pro with 2x D700 GPUs, 3.5GHz 6 core CPU and 32GB ram.
any idea on what's causing this problem and how to solve it?
    thanks!

  • Pictures look fuzzy when playing in timeline and even after export.

This is a major headache for me.
I have brought high resolution photos into FCP 7 and they look great when scaled down when I pause or scrub the video in my timeline. When I play my video in the timeline or after an export, it looks fuzzy or pixelated.
I was given the suggestion to mess with interlacing, change the photos to 72dpi before importing to FCP, and other suggestions. Changing the dpi didn't seem to make any difference. Is this a render issue? I've been checking the render setting but haven't had any luck.
    Any suggestions?
I'm not great at determining what my settings should be at for FCP on my MacBook Pro. I have been messing with the settings so much in the past few days trying to fix my fuzzy/pixelated photos problem, and I now am having a difficult time trying to remember what everything was originally set at.
    Help!

I am using QT 7.6.4 as I'm still hanging back on Leopard - not Snow Leopard.
If you look in your "Utilities" folder you might a copy of QT (non-X) in that folder. If not there already, it's an "additional install" on the OS DVD I think.
from here: (Oddly, the corresponding Apple Support page was down. This is Apple's info really...somone else has copied/pasted)
    1. Insert your Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard Install DVD.
    2. Open the "Optional Installs folder" and double-click "Optional Installs.mpkg".
    3. Select the QuickTime 7 option and click Continue.
    4. QuickTime Player 7 will be installed in your Utilities folder.
If you have QuickTime 7 installed, Snow Leopard handles the division of labor for you, using QuickTime X when it can and QuickTime 7 when it needs to.
If you don't already have QuickTime 7 installed, then the first time you try to do something that requires it -- such as play a video that needs a non-standard codec, for example -- Snow Leopard will ask if you want to install it.

  • Excel charts become blury when pasted...help?

    Hi,
    I am using CS4 on Windows 7.
I am putting together a report which requires me to insert Excel charts into my InDesign document.
I am having a problem...when I "paste" the copied chart over into InDesign, parts of the chart look pixelated and fuzzy/blury.
I have tried various things such as making the chart bigger and smaller then pasting, it seems to get worse. I also tried just doing a screenshot of my chart then making it into a JPG in Photoshop and placing that. It worked very well with one chart, but all the others are even worse than when I just paste.
Does anyone know of this problem? I want this preentation to look really professional, and fuzzy lines around my bar chart just won't do!
    Please help??
    Thanks!

    Thanks for the suggestions guys
Well, I tried making it a lot larger in excel and then doing the copy/paste. The graphic itself came out nice and crisp, but the text on the axis i now so tiny you cannot read it, nor the text in the legend. Getting frustrated!
I also tried the copy/paste into Illustrator and save out as a .AI file then file>place. This came out with very rough edges and looking awful. I don't use AI and really don't know what I am doing so I could be doing it wrong.
Sigh.....it seems SO simple, very frustrating!
    Any suggestion to remedy this?
    Thanks a million!

  • Why do my pictures become distorted when burning to a DVD disk using iDVD?

I have created a movie/slide show & now I want to burn it to a DVD using the iDVD software.  The movie portion seems to burn correctly, however my slide show pictures appear distorted--black & white or purplish in color.  What do I need to do to correct this problem?

Sorry, but iDVD is the absolutely best software to assemble and finalize your DVD with its customizable menu and themes options. It is not entry level by any means. I've been using it for years and have produced top quality HD movies and have never had a problem with its output.
    @ Goatboy:
Having said the above - which app did you use to assemble your slideshow? And what format and size were the individual pictures? From which camera model? iDVD is not the best to put a slideshow together; I use Photo to Movie as they do a much better job. However, no app can improve on the quality of your pictures; for instance, if you enlarged the original size, that can result in a degradation of quality.
As for the memory: what model/year Mac and how much RAM do you have? Also, how much free hard drive space do you have?

  • Firefeox update 24 , becomes black when restoring the windows and also is blocking the close and minimize butons . How to FIX ?

Recently I have updatet to ff verzion 24 , since then Im experiencing that problem as i mentioned in a question.

    Hello,
Please open Firefox in Safe Mode and see if the problem still occurs. You can launch Firefox into Safe Mode directly by holding down the Shift key when opening Firefox.
Click the 'Start in Safe Mode' button. NOT the 'Reset' button.
[[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]]
If the problem does not occur in Safe Mode then come out of safe mode and then continue following the instructions to identify the setting or add-on that is causing the problem. I would start by disabling hardware acceleration to see if that is the cause.
If the problem does occur in Safe Mode then I suggest doing a Firefox Reset. This will return Firefox to its default settings. You personal information will be saved (bookmarks etc) but you will need to reinstall your add-ons.
[[Reset Firefox – easily fix most problems]]
I hope this helps. Let me know if not.

  • When do the Ripple Delete  and/or  Join commands become active?

I have been using Soundtrack Pro for a while, but I have not been able to use the Ripple Delete and Joind commands. Under which conditions do these commands become available? Does the Ripple Delete command work like in FCP? I use ProTools, and I would love Soundtrack to include something like the Shuffle mode, in which removing a section on the Timeline would make the rest of the audio samples on that track move up.
Is this possible? I know this can be done on the audio editor, but sometimes editing to picture requires doing this on the Timeline.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Great tip Simon - but do you not find this a bit irritating - that you have to go through this extra process just to perform a ripple delete?
The other point here, is that if you make two cuts in a clip, and then drag over the timeslice section, even with snapping turned on, it seems easy to me to not pin-point the edit in quite the same way that you do with a simple cut. By dragging over, if you miss the edit point by a fraction, you can end up ripple deleting over the cut you intended to make.
Sadie does all this with so much more ease in my view... a lot quicker when doing very fast editing. I'm surprised that with a 'pro app' tag, apple haven't gone the extra few yards with STP. Doesn't quite cut it (in my view)

I don't want to build my project linearly.  I want to place photos in certain places, but when I try to import any they always go to the start of the timeline.
How do I put these photos where I want them, so they can become my guideposts in the timeline?

    Hey Mark Burgess,
I have an article for you about importing photos into your timeline in iMovie and positioning them correctly in your project:
iMovie '11: Add photos from iPhoto to a project
After you find the photo you want to use, click the photo to see a preview in the viewer. Then do one of the following to add it to your project:
Drag it between clips or between a clip and a transition. As you drag, a vertical green line appears anyplace you can add the photo. When you add a photo, by default it is set to remain onscreen for four seconds, but you can change this duration if you want. Also, the Ken Burns effect is applied to the photo, which makes it appear as though the camera is panning across and zooming in on the image. You can modify this effect if you choose. Refer to the “See also” topics below for more information.
Drag the photo to a video clip; a green Add (+) symbol appears where you can drop it. From the menu that appears, you can choose to replace the video clip with the photo or insert the photo. If Advanced Tools are turned on, you can add the photo as a picture-in-picture clip, and more.
