Pictures cant be edited

I have to open every picture in Windows Paint and then re save it to same file just to maybe make small changes to my pictures. Even when I use the included editor to make my photos widescreen fromt he iphone itself it seems to revert back to the original file when put on PC. The iphone asks me if I want to save changes and I say yes. What gives

Nope not working.
Strangely pictures that have been transferred a week ago are working ???
I also added a screenshot of albums to give you an idea how it looks like.

i notice from your post you state you are using Windows XP - iCloud control panel is not compatible with XP so you will not have it installed
On my Win 7 pc it is located in the pictures library as a folder named Photo stream (as defined by my iCloud settings) this can be placed any where by using options in the control panel

It is difficult to know why because we don't know what version is your PSE and what is your operating system.
That aside, if your camera is fairly new then first try to update your software by going to:
Help >> Updates
If this doesn't solve then it may be that your camera is not supported by your PSE (mainly 10 and before) and so you may need to use DNG conversion utility. The latest version is 8.1 but unpaid MVPs here will tell you more about it.

Yes, we are talking about FCP X...this is the thing:
I worked on a project a few days ago and went to share - export movie.
Today, i opened the FCP again, to make some changes, and when i enter to the project, it shows me as one big clip.....i dont see it says compound clip....and i tried anyways pressing break appart clips...but nothing....could it be that i made it compound before exporting it..? if so how can i recover the un-compound version >?
I tried to import the saved .mov file, but it opens the same....as one long clip...

Can someone please recommend an Adobe program. Should i get CS4 extended should i get master suite? Also where can i watch Video Tutorials that start from the basic and lead to the complex. There is no such thing. If there were, nobody would bother writing different applications. If you are primarily focused on still image editing and video, Adobe Production Premium is the way to go. You can find any number of tutorials just by searching Google and many good ones are linked from the Adobe help systems as well.

Microsoft stopped selling that software over 6 years ago and the and nothing on a Mac can open the .MIX files it made.
You'll need to convert your .MIX files to JPEG before you move them to a Mac.

Why cant I edit a received email?

I just switched from a PC using Outlook. My Outlook has always been much more than a bunch of sent and received emails. I have lots of folders and file things away for reference, and I frequently edit emails to make them easier to find via a search or to add additional useful info.
I cant see how there could be any technical difficulties in allowing users to edit emails, so I can only assume that they are unaware of the usefulness.
Why would you want to edit an email examples:
1. Quotes from vendors. Add keywords, our part numbers or additional info....maybe after a phone conversation. Sometimes the vendors call a part something different than what we call it, or they use horrible abbreviations in the product name.
2. eFax faxes that arrive via email. They all have a useless subject with the senders fax number only, AND the content isnt indexed by search since they are essentially pictures. So....without the ability to edit the subject, I loose the nice paperless fax filing system in my email bec I cant search and find them any more!
3. Receipts from web purchases. Add keywords to make finding them easier. Edit subject to include the name of the product/s that were purchased.
4. Notes or emails I create myself in these folders for reference. Outlook has a neat feature "Post in this folder" that lets you create a text document in the folder and type whatever you want. This is handy for keeping info in a folder that was not received as an email. you could email yourself, but that is a multi-step process that isnt nearly as clean and simple.
I think the Apple Mail creators don't realize that an email app can be much more useful than something to store exact copies of sent and received emails. If I cant find a solution for this, I will have to use another program, which is a huge bummer, bec aside from this one simple missing feature, I like Apple Mail, but this is a deal breaker for me.
Please just turn on this ability!

Maybe you've misunderstood what it CAN be. I'm not asking for an outlook clone. Just the ability to add useful notes to an email.
One very big reason you shouldn't be able to edit received messages is if you have to produce them for evidence of anything. The ability to edit an email means you could alter the contents to be different than what the sender actually sent.
This can be alleviated by recording the "Last modified date"
e-Faxes are still images, and Outlook doesn't let you edit an image, either. There's nothing stopping you from opening the fax in Preview, adding notes and then exporting it as a PDF file.
I dont want to edit an image, just change the subject of the email it came in.
As for creating notes, you can do that, but it looks as though you haven't read the Help documentation for Mail yet.
As far as I can tell, you can create a note but you cant put it in whatever folder you want. They live in separate notes folders, so it doesn't do what I was asking.
If you want to add keywords or tags to email, you need to use something like MailTags.
Mailtags looks like it will address all the issues I have. It allows you to add notes to an email in a separate text box that is searchable. Thanks for the tip. i would really prefer not to have to rely on a third party add-on, but will probably do it anyway. i really dont want to have to switch to Entourage...which WILL let you do this by the way as does Eudora, MS Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird.
Regarding MailTags, the fact that this popular add-on exists indicates to me that I'm far from alone in finding some useful functionality missing. At a bare minimum I think they should allow you to edit the subject line.

Cant write/edit data on my external hard disk! Help please!~~

Okay guys, currently, i'm using Tiger version 10.4.11. My problem is that i cant edit data or write data to any external hard disks, like the maxtor One Touch and so on. Only thing i can do is to extract the data from the disks. I have tried to write on multiple hard disks but in all my attempts i have failed. i've tried to edit my network settings, but no results.
So, i seek help from anyone out here!

Basically, its a shared hard disk between my macbook and a windows PC. So i kinda use the PC to write all my backups and data on the hard disk.
I have quite a few hard disk and they all have the same issue. It says 'The item 'file x'cannot be moved because 'my hard disk' cannot be modified.'I've used the software provided from the hard disk manufacturer, Maxtor/Seagate, to reformat the brand new portable hard disk which i bought yesterday.
Its connected via USB, same as all the other ones i have.

Added exec startkde to xinitrc, but after I type startx i get bunch of errors and no KDE...

EDIT: I checked LOG and problem seems to be:
1. some directories for the fonts are missing, but those are only WW
2. Errors are:
-failed to load module type1 and freetype
-failed to set tilling
and
-adding input device: macintosh, assus eepc extra butons, SynPS/2 synptics touchpad, AT translated Set2 keyboard and video bus...
Please anyone knows how to fix this..

First, on behalf of the community, I apologize for the delay in anyone responding. Maybe I can help.
Note the line "/etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc line 4: exec: startkde: not found" in the error messages you pasted. This means that the startkde application doesn't exist on your hard drive. I'm pretty sure there's more to the KDE dependencies than just "kdebase." You can likely get away with less than the full-blown kde meta-package, but something is missing.
In particular, you'll need the "kde-workspace" package in extra for the "startkde" program. That might be all you need to get it working, but it might not. Try installing it and see if it works. If not, post back here.
As for "-failed to load module type1 and freetype" you should be able to fix that by editing /etc/X11/xorg.conf (that's the default X configuration file, at least) and commenting out the lines in section "Module" that correspond to freetype and type1. Similarly, the font directories problem can be fixed by commenting out the appropriate "FontPath" lines in the "Files" section.
The hardware request failures I'm not sure about, since I don't have an EeePc.
The "error setting MTRR (base = 0xd0000000, size = 0x10000000, type = 1) Invalid argument (22)" I'm trying to get rid of, myself, although it won't prevent gnome from starting; it only causes issues when using "startx".

Where is 'Picture Frames' in Edit/Fill? It is not offered on my copy of PS CC 14.2.2 on Windows 7.
