Pictures deleted :(

I hooked up my BB 8310 to my computer via the data cable today and my "f" drive froze. I chose the option to fix any corrupted drives. The green progress bar got all the way to the end and stopped. I had to shut it down through the task mgr. After I did that, I looked at my phone and realized all but about 10 of my original pics were deleted. They never showed up on my screen, and I was never given the option of deleting/not deleting off the memory card when finished. All of my pics were saved to my memory card, not internal memory. I am really angry about this. Has this happened to anyone else, or does anyone think they would actually be in my computer or still on the memory card? Unfortunately I can't find my adaptor for my mini card but when I do find it, I hope they're on there somewhere!!!

First -- do you have a backup -- if so restore it -- if not shame on you - you always must have a current backup or you will lose your photos sooner or later
If you do not then right click on the iPhoto library and show package contents
first look in the originals folder and see if your photos are there (do not change anything) - if they are post back
If they are not then look in the modified folder and see if any are there - if they are post back with details
If none are in drag the data folder to the desktop and delete the iPhoto library - launch iPhoto and create a new library and import the thumbnails into it (they are not very useful because they are so small but you will have them

I publish a 41mb InDesign newsletter monthly into interactive pdf. It always becomes a file size of 4mb, 10% of original, when I save to pdf. This month my newsletter is 41mb and it drops to 11mb, 25% of original. I have re-sized all pictures, deleted pages separately, have gotten the file size down to 16mb and it drops to 7mb, 45% of original.
I have gone back and saved Feb and March and it saves to 10% of original, as it did before, and I use the same mechanism to save now.
I have gone to Acrobat Pro and optimized down to 8.8mb, but the quality is not acceptable.
What other variable is there that I haven't discovered?

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

Is there any way to retrieve pictures deleted from photo stream that are not yet on camera roll? I used my iPhone for a camera and put pix on iPad through photo stream. But I didn't realize they were not on the iPad camera roll, and deleted them from the phone Photostream. Now they are gone. Any chance to find them in the cloud?

No, there is no re-cycling bin on the iPad. If you deleted them from the card, and you havn't yet re-used the card, then there may be recovery software that you can get for your computer that might be able to get them back.

How do I delete pics from my phone after they have been synced to iPhoto on my mac? I don't understand the folder option people speak of.

Once you've imported your photos with iPhoto, you'll get a popup message asking to keep the pictures on your iPhone you've just imported, and you have the option to delete them from your iPhone after the pictures have been imported. Does this answer your question?

2007 Macbook Pro suddenly coding over files, pictures, deleting itunes and iphoto albums, after it had been dropped in late november 2010. Apple specialists say they cannot find anything wrong. HELP!

I have a Macbook Pro, the last generation, not the most recent one. It fell about 2 feet in late November 2010 and had the screen and logicboard replaced right after. A day or two after that, I started to notice that my word documents, pictures files, pdf files, itunes library and iphoto library were coded over and deleted out of nowhere. When I click on it, it says it is not a compatible format or cannot be read, etc. However, this doesn't happen all the time and not with every file. I could open a new word document and begin it today, and tomorrow it will not be retreavable, but I have a document on my desktop that has been there since January and can still be opened, so this happens without warning.
I have taken it in to the Genius Bar at my local Apple store several times with this problem, and they say they cannot see anything wrong with my computer. On my most recent visit, the lady told me to buy an external hardrive, transfer everything onto it, then do a complete clean out of my computer and reboot it I guess. If it doesn't continue, then that might have been the problem, but if it does continue, then it is obviously not that. I am really confused and I don't know if I should trust that this is the problem or just go ahead and buy a new computer all together. I don't have applecare anymore.

Does your MBP still have its original hard drive? If so, it may have started to go south. The average useful life of a notebook drive is 3-5 years, and if yours is the original, it would be about 4 years old. The drop could also have affected it.
It might be worth booting from your install disc and repairing your boot disk. It sounds like you could have some directory issues. Repair until there is nothing left to repair. If Disk Utility cannot repair the drive, you will need a stronger utility like Disk Warrior or possibly a new drive.
It also sounds like you may have some software corruption, which can happen if you have hard drive problems. Have you tried reinstalling the OS? You would want to make a backup first on an external drive and then use the archive and install feature and then update the OS.
You might want to download and run SMART Utility:

You can download the demo and run it several times for free. SMART Utility seems to be somewhat more critical than Disk Utility, and may be able to detect impending drive failure sooner.
If the drive checks out OK, then you can follow the advice you got from the genius and make a clone of your boot drive using Super Duper or carbon Copy Cloner on the external drive. You could boot from the clone you made and see how your Mac does when booted from a different drive. If all is good, you can reformat the internal drive and clone back to it.
If all you need is a replacement hard drive, then your Mac is likely worth fixing. I too have a 2007 MBP, and I replaced my hard drive right after Applecare expired, as the drive started to fail a week after Applecare ran out. I put in a Western Digital 500 GB 7200 RPM Scorpio Black, and have been running on it ever since. I have also upped my RAM to 6 GB and my OS to Lion. Not all the features of Lion work on a 2007 MBP--the trackpad does not support Gestures, and AirDrop is not supported. Even so, I expect this Mac to last me a few more years.
iFixit has instructions for replacing the hard drive, and OWC has both good RAM and kits for hard drive replacements. My gut feeling is that your hard drive is behind the weird symptoms you are experiencing.
If you are ready for a new computer, by all means get one--there are some great choices. However, you should be able to fix your old Mac for not very much money and get some more use out of it.

Videos and pictures deleted with 8.1.1 update

Hey there.
So I updated to the latest update last night and a few videos and pictures completely vanished.
I looked in the "deleted" folder of pictures to see if they went in there and they didn't, Its like they didn't exist.
I've seen others have similar issues with ringtones disappearing.
Anyone know anything about this?

I did an icloud backup before the update yes. If its the absolute last solution I can restore my phone, I was just curious if theres a workaround maybe.

Original Pictures Deleted?!?

I have a very bad problem...not too long ago I put a lot of pictures on my iPod nano and they everything worked fine! But then I plugged in my iPod a few times to chance some songs...now I wanted to look at some pictures I took(5000) and they are all gone! somehow itunes deleted those pictures! Did anyone have had the same prob as i do?? I want my pictures back...what would be the best solution?

Where are you saying it deleted the originals? From your iPod or from your computer?
The original pictures should be on your computer.
Are they still in the folder you selected in iTunes prefs -> iPod - Photo tab?
The originals are only copied to the iPod if you open iTunes prefs -> iPod - Photo tab and check Copy full resolution photos to iPod.
If this box is not checked, to save space, iTunes will only load a small version of the picture onto the iPod.

Original pictures deleted after batch rename in Bridge

Hi,
I have just gone through the process of renameing photos in my collection using batch rename in Bridge.
I have just gone into the wastebin on my computer and all my pictures (with the original filenames) are in there?
Is this right? As far as I can tell I have all my photos, with their new file names, its just the original photos that are in the bin.
Can I safely delete all the photos in the watebin?

Collections are a little different that images in folders as they are not images, just an address to find image. I just did a test rename of file in collection it it renamed image, nothing in trash heap.
So can't say why you are seeing what you are seeing. Are you using folders in Bridge, and the folder is not write protected?

N85 picture deleted automatically

I have nokia n85. Recently I am having a problem. The pictures that I take with the camera are deleted automatically after some days. for xample I took a few picz about 2 weeks ago. I used to see them until today. But today they are gone. When I go via file manager, there is no pic. but in the gallery, only the title of those pic appears. But i have the pics of 3 months earlier. they r stored perfectly. only the recent photos r deleted. plz someone help.

What network are you on? Often the network will shrink down MMS messages to smaller sizes during transmission, to save themselves (but not you) some money.
That's a pretty tiny image, though, I don't think anyone's shrinking them that much.

You transferred photos from your computer to your iPhone and then erased the photos from your computer?
If so, the iPhone is not designed or intended to be used as an external storage or backup storage device. Photos transferred from your computer are optimized for viewing on your iPhone as part of the iTunes sync/transfer process. The original resolution of these photos is reduced on your iPhone. If you delete photos from your computer that were transferred to your iPhone, the photos will be removed from your iPhone with the next sync. Photos transferred from your computer should remain on your computer.

Webcam pictures delete after 28 days from my pic folder

I take a lot of pictures with my built in webcam..
When i take them it comes up with the snapshot and i close it and they save to my pictures folder but they delete the pictures automaticaly after 28 days.
How do i change this?
Do i need to move the pictures to another folder? Rename them? I'm stuck.
It deleted all 50 pictures of me and my boyfriend so kinda gutted and want to get this solved ASAP

Thats really strange.
I never had such issue and I cannot imagine that the picture would delete automatically after a couple of time without any warnings or notification.
Do you use any 3rd party software or tools which would clean the OS?
Anyway, you could try to move the picture to the second partition on the HDD.
Create a folder on the second partition and move the pictures there.
Additionally I would recommend backup the pictures on a external USB stick or HDD.
Then test it if the pictures would be deleted again.

Re: deleting photos. When I touch the photo(s) I want to delete and touch delete, they don't delete. Neither does the trash can appear to move the picture to the trash can. The delete works when deleting songs, but not pictures.

Picture deleted erroneously

i have delete myself a very important picture from iphone 3.1.3
before sync.
so probably it's in the recycle bin or something like this.

I did the same thing... accidentally deleted a picture from the camera roll on the phone before I got it synced to the computer. Is there a change that it synced to the trash on my computer? Please say that it is hiding there in some weird code or something.
I searched the computer trash and a few unidentified files came up that look like they could be something that could be converted?
I know that it was not backed up on phone.
Really appreciate any info.

IPhoto Pictures deleted

My entire iPhoto library deleted when I synched my iPad 2 to install the new software... I now no longer have the pictures on my iPad or my MacBook...Is there any way to fix this

Simple solution: Restore from your back up.

Iphoto pictures deleted itself

I updated my computer as I do every so often and when it restarted all of my pictures on Iphoto were gone. How do I get them back? They are very important.

iPhoto is an application and lives in your Applications folder
Your photos are in a database which by default is names iPhoto library and is in your pictures folder
I still have Iphoto on my computer.
Is this the application of the intact non-functioning liPhoto library?
I have copied all the pictures on a USB so I wont loose any data.

Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your thumbnails (you may need to do several times)
