  • N97 Picture quality (colour issue)

Hi, when i take pictures with the camera on the N97 the picture quality seems to be getting worse. There seems to be a lack of colour in any of my pictures now, like if you went into photoshop and reduced the colour, thats the outcome im getting now from every picture no matter how bright my surroundings are. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I tried to upload a pic as an attachment, but after clicking several times on the add attachments link, it failed to work. Typical NOKIA

    Welcome Craig
I'm wondering if the process of compressing the video for the DVD may be pulling out a dying pixel
Dead pixels occur in LCD Displays eventually (as on a laptop / computer display or the LCD screen of a camcorder) and not actually located on the software required to generate mpeg2. Might be a hardware related issue but very unlikely that it relates to software exclusively.
    Hope this Helps.

  • HP1510 won't print pictures in colour

I can't print pictures(not photos) in colour.  but I can print pages of text in colour.   This ongoing problem occurs when I run low or run out of ink. It will either print in yellow and green only or in greyscale. Usually this problem is solved by putting in new ink cartridges, but not this time. I have auto cleaned and the test page comes out fine. Windows 8 Pro-64 bit/ HP Pro-Book 450 G1.

Hi , Welcome to the HP Forums! I noticed that you cannot print pictures in color with your HP Deskjet 1510, on Windows 8. I am happy to help! Please try the steps within this print quality guide, Printer Does Not Print Black Ink or Color Ink, or Prints Blank Pages. You will want to make sure that you are using Genuine HP Ink Cartridges, and that they are not refills, low, or empty. If this does not resolve your issue, then the printer will need to be serviced/or replaced. • WB colour temperature

I am calibrating my Pentax 10D with your raw dng profile editor.
I shot two DNG images of CC one in direct sun and the other with tungsten filament lamps.
Checking with camera raw (4.6-CS3) the color temp of white patches were 5350 and 2600. So far so good. To me these seem ok.
On opening with DNG profile editor and setting colour balance the values obtained were 6950 and 4000. Hmpf
I continued to make profile and exported profile for use in lightroom (2.2)
Using new profile and "as shot" pictures appears colour balanced.
If I change to another profile say adobe standard or other also using "as shot" the pictures remains colour balanced but the colour temp reduces by around 150K. the same difference as found above.
Basically my new profile raises the indicated WB temp conciderably.
Can someone help here, surely the "as shot" should be independent of profile?
    Roger

    Problem solved.
If I update DNG files from camera with camera raw (gaining a base profile)then profile editor WB operates as it should.
    Resultant profile also ok.

  • Uneven colours in iPhoto printed book, can I get a reprint?

    Hello,
I recently ordered an iPhoto book of pictures from our honeymoon as a present for my wife. The book has arrived and on several of the pictures the colours towards the edge of the page are uneven. For example, on an image of a body of water, the blues of the water are uneven. It's as if the printer was running low on blue ink. Pages with less blue appear to be fine.
Has anyone had experience in returning a book for a reprint when there are floors like this?

Have a look at this page:
    http://store.apple.com/us/help/returns_refund
There are some items, however, that are ineligible for return, including:
    Opened software*
    Electronic Software Downloads
Software Up-to-Date Program Products (software upgrades)
    Apple Store Gift Cards
Apple Developer Connection Products (Membership and Technical Support)
    Apple Print Products
So you will have to proof, that the faulty, uneven colors are not caused by a a ppor quality of the photos you included. You will need the preview of your book.
    See this page:

    Return Policy
Apple wants you to be thrilled with your print product. If you are dissatisfied with an item and want to return it, we're here to help.
There are some situations that are beyond Apple's control. These include:
    Errors in user-customizable features
This includes cover color, cropping, enhancements, red-eye reduction and formatting, such as, but not limited to captions or page numbers.
    Errors in user-added text
Please preview any custom text carefully, and correct any mistakes prior to placing your order. Apple is unable to make text corrections to image files.
Poor image quality due to low-resolution images
You may see a warning icon if you select a low-resolution image. Preview each page of your book, card or calendar for grainy or pixelated images. If an image is too small and appears pixelated, try inserting it into a smaller frame.

  • Colors using Apple TV versus a DVI to Video Adapter

Apple TV does not generate identical colors on my Panasonic flat screen (even when I adjust the screen's tint and/or colors) when I view iPhotos or videos (trailers, rented movies, homemade movies, etc.). However, Apple's DVI to Video Adapter (which only costs $19) does, and to perfection; the colors viewed on the Panasonic flat screen are identical to the images' colors on my MacBook Pro.
Does this make sense? Why wouldn't the more convenient Apple TV deliver the same results? Or is there something wrong with my $400 Apple TV?
    Thanks for any advice.
    Bob

You're still being a little 'cagey' and not giving us exactly the full information: "..The Apple TV is connected to the Panasonic flat screen via RBG component cables, run through a receiver.." ..the "receiver" is, presumably, a TV set or tuner. So is the Panasonic a TV set, or is it a dumb screen just connected - somehow - to a TV receiver?
You say "..For example, skin tones are way off, and a pink item in a photo can appear purple on the flat screen.." ..I'm not too good with colours, but it may be that your component connections are bad, and perhaps aren't making proper contact between your AppleTV and your "receiver" ..whatever that may be.
The component connections send specific colour ('chrominance') info, unlike the 'Video' (composite) output which sends the entire picture (all colours together) down a single cable, or the 'S-Video' signals which send colour (all together) and a separate brightness signal down different wires.
For a brief intro, see this 'Video Signal Standards' page ..or perhaps you already know all that.
It seems as if perhaps your component cables are connected to the wrong pins, have faulty connections, or your 'Component' input hasn't been properly selected on your Panasonic ..ahem: on your "receiver" ..or maybe your receiver's output is weirdly mismatched to your Panasonic screen.
Check your component connections at both ends: AppleTV and, er, "receiver". Pull them out one by one and see if there's a difference ..then put them back one by one ..or try putting them IN into different sockets. There's also a difference between analog and digital component connections: see the manual of your Panasonic and your, er, "receiver" to understand better what kind of incoming signal your equipment expects.
It could be just a loose wire, a wire in the wrong socket, or an incorrectly set up menu on your Panny - or your "receiver"!
Whoops - I've just re-read your last post: "..The Apple TV is connected to the Panasonic flat screen via RBG component cables, run through a receiver.."
The component cable are NOT "RBG" (..they're not even RGB, which is what I think you meant..) ..RGB (Red Green Blue) is not the component signal which the AppleTV provides: the ATV provides YUV component signals, generally referred to - or their connections on a TV (..or "receiver"..) designated by - 'YCbCr' or 'YPbPr' which would normally have sockets coloured whitish, bluey-green and red.
I think you've probably got your YPbPr wires crossed. The red, blue and green connections on the back of the AppleTV should NOT be attached to RGB connections on a TV (..or "receiver"..) but to the 'YCbCr' or 'YPbPr' sockets. If you have only 'RGB' sockets on the back of your (older?) equipment, that connection expects a different kind of signal, and the colours will be wrong. Maybe this article may help a little, or search with Google for more information..
Oh: and Winston says "..Have you tried toggling your HDMI setting on the tv, give all the settings (Auto/YCbCr/RGB) a whirl and see if this improves your experience.." Maybe you need to try switching the signal between YCbCr and RGB on the component output of your AppleTV (..if that's an option in its Settings menu; can't remember if it is or not..) to make sure that the output signal of your AppleTV matches the input which your other equipment is expecting!

  • Why can't I print a card from iPhoto?

I have always been able to print cards I design straight to my printer but today I seem to only be able to print the elements I placed in the card. The design elements are not printing.
Has this function been removed so we have to buy the card?

I made a birthday card using photos from my iPhoto files and using a template used many times before. When I pressed the print button, I found that the only things displayed in the preview and consequently when printed, are the photo and the words that I placed in the template. The actual card elements from the programme (ie the textures, pictures and colours that are usually present in the card) are strangely absent. It makes for a pretty boring printout of a photo and some disjointed words with no cohesion. I have tried another template and the same thing happened.
I have also tried to save it as a PDF and the resulting printout was the same.
I may be wrong but it looks like Apple are removing the option to print our own cards, so that we use their online printing service and make shedloads of money from what used to be a free component of the programme.

  • HDMI On Mac Mini Late 2012: Problem with hardware?

Just converted from PC to Mac.
Purchased latest mac mini (Late 2012 version)
Have tried several monitors through HDMI port and each time the picture quality is poor with very bad text resolution.
Have tried HDMI to HDMI  and also tried HDMI to DVI adaptor.
This is with full 1080p 27 inch samsung monitor and HP 2010i monitor.
Is there a problem with the HDMI port on this new mac mini?
The monitors I have are fine and are crystal sharp when connected to PC.
Many thanks if you can answer this

OK. So I have now tried LG 27 Inch E2742 Monitor as follows:
    1) Mini display to DVI-D : Picture good with decent text resolution
    2) HDMI-HDMI: Picture poor with poor colour and text resolution. This is not a calibration issue.
The samsung monitor 27 inch series 3 also has poor picture and colour and text resolution with HDMI-HDMI. Again this is not a calibration issue. It does not have a DVI-D input to test the minidisplay port.
So it seems the HDMI port is not working properly but the minidisplay one is ok as I suspected.
From reading the other threads it seems this is a common problem including those people that have taken their minis back for an exchange and experienced same problem.
Is there likely to be a software update to resolve this?

  • How to draw line on SAP form

    Hi everyone,
Who have a good way to draw lines on SAP form?
I created a Wizard form, and use Rectangle (Height=0) as the two lines between title and bottom button, but I met a problem, when show another form which cover the line, after close this form, some part of lines disappear, I have tried using SAP form refresh, it still can not restore showing line completely, who have good way to workaround the problem or give me another way to draw line.
    Thanks in advance!
    Kathy

The only way I found to get a form looking really close to a standard B1 Wizard form is to use bitmaps.  I use 3 - one each for the top, bottom and left hand side.  The bitmaps include the line drawing and appropriate pictures/background colours.  I normally define these in the XML used to create the form as in the following example:-
    <item uid="PTOP" type="117" left="0" width="566" top="0" height="80" visible="1" enabled="1" from_pane="0" to_pane="0">

  • Images are pixelated

All the photos that I open in Photoshop lose their quality and appear pixelted, in comparsion to when i open and edit photos in digital photo professional.
    Please help me
The camera used is a Canon rebel t3, and I shoot most photos in Raw, however i experience this problem even with photos shot in jpeg

It sounds like you are looking at the thumbnails rather than the original picture. Are the pictures dis-connected for some reason(perhaps they were moved outside of PSE?)?

  • Mac mini: Samsung 27 inch series 3 monitor problem.

Connecting HDMI(mini) to HDMI(Monitor) leads to poor text resolution (blurry difficult to read). Monitor only has HDMI or VGA. Will mindisplay to vga adaptor work and give a clear picture?

  • Aperture vs. Other...?

    Hello people...
Admittedly, funds are a bit low at the moment due to the purchase of my new iMac, but when funds allow, i'm considering purchasing Aperture. I just wondered what other people think of it, and whether it's a worthwhile transition or not?
Basically, i do a fair amount of Motorsports photography, and i like to edit the pictures, crop, colour balance etc. I have a Canon 400D and have been using the free software it came with, called 'Digital Photo Professional' (DPP). It's a good program, but i find it a bit user un-friendly for my own liking.
I've had a look at the specs for Aperture, but wondered if anybody would purchase this over the software provided? I do like to get stuck in, so i don't mind it beig a bit technical, but not so much that it becomes laborious and a chore to use. I use Photoshop for some edits too, but as it's a design application and it's not one i use frequently anymore, it's easy to forget what you're doing i have a terrible memory!).
So rather than use a few programs, should i make the transition? Is there a trial version available?
I look forward to your thoughts!
    Dan

    Dan the 480 Man wrote:
...I've just downloaded the trial however, and upon double clicking the .dmg it's telling me it can't mount the image for some reason. I've downloaded 3 now (in the hope of '3rd time lucky'), but no joy!
First is to max out the RAM in that iMac to 4 GB. Aperture will run poorly if at all under 1 GB RAM. The 1 GB RAM may even be why the trial will not mount for you.
I strongly recommend that every DSLR photog with adequate computer hardware first spend $33 and work through the tutorial CD Apple Pro Training Series: Aperture 2 (Apple Pro Training Series) by Ben Long, Richard Harrington, and Orlando Luna (Paperback - May 8, 2008), Amazon.com. Ideally one should have the CD and proper hardware configured (put 4 GB RAM in that iMac!!) prior to ordering the Aperture trial so you don't waste time of the 30 day trial.
I just received the new v2 tutorial and have not yet reviewed it, but the earlier version was excellent. Note that the value is in the tutorial, not in using the book as a manual.
IMO a cursory examination of Aperture usually turns out to be mostly a waste of time, or leads to bad workflow habits or folks simply do not get it. Carefully working the tutorial is by far the best way to learn this new killer app category.
...i'm considering purchasing Aperture. I just wondered what other people think of it, and whether it's a worthwhile transition or not?
Most of us here think Aperture rocks. Working the CD tutorial with the trial version is a great way to find out just how good an app Aperture is.
    Good luck!

  • Help, InDesign transparency tool changes opacity of entire document

Hi. I just got Adobe InDesign CS5. I have been a very long user of QuarkXpress. What I would like to do is a linear blend of
colours in an object to a design I am doing. Then I would like to change the opacity of the SELECTED OBJECT only. But for some reason when I select the object and change the opacity, it changes it to the picture that is underneath the object to a different colour blue than what was originally in the picture I created? The picture was created in Photoimpact 11, with Pantone Blue as the colour.
First, I created a new document and inserted a PNG picture that fits on the entire document as the background, that has a very bright blue background. I want to put a rectangular text box at the top with blended colours. When I create a new object, using the rectangle tool, and then put it on top of the picture, I select the rectangular box, I right click and go to Effects and then Transparency. I select the "Select for" prompt to "Fill". Then on the right side where it says "Transparency, Basic Blending" it is selected as Normal mode and I move the opacity to 64%. When I click on ok, the picture underneath changes colours to a different colour light blue for some reason?? But the thing is, the picture colour that changes to light blue, stays the same whether it is at 99% or at 1% opacity.
Why is my picture changing colours? How can I change the objects opacity to not affect the pictures colour underneath? I have been trying for hours to figure this out. When I have done this in QuarkXpress, it doesnt affect the background picture at all. The only issue is, when i convert to PDF from QuarkXpress, the pantone blue comes out a totally different colour, like a lighter blue. But when I converted this background picture in InDesign without any other objects, it came out perfect! Please help me. Thank you.
I also want to mention that I update to the latest version of InDesign CS5 7.0.3 and updated everything else, and still it was having a problem. Thanks.

    Wow. I can't believe this.
    I figured this solution out.
I fixed this problem by enabling Edit-->Transparency Blend Space-->Document RGB.
Now my background picture is just fine. Before, Transparency blend space was in CMYK. I guess that was the issue?
If anyone else has this problem, just keep this in mind!.

  • Sending to external editor does not send adjustments

Hi all - having an issue sending to more than one external editor.
I send to a NIK plugin (color efex), apply a fillter and then save.
After that I may want to send to Photoshop.
If I make any ajustments in Aperture (to the filtered file - the new TIFF master) before sending to the second external editor thos adjustments will be ignored.
    For example -
I start with a RAW file.  I make adjustments in Aperture.  All Good.
I send this to Color Efex and give it a cross process.  Save.
Back in Aperture i now have a TIFF file (cross processed).
If I then (for the sake of this example) completely desaturate the color (now its black and white) and then send this TIFF to photoshop using the send to external editor command the image in photoshop will be *color* - with the cross processing on it.
If I cancel this and then go back to Aperture and send the Black and White Picture to Colour effects again, it's also not black and white.
In summery the adjustments made after the first "send to external editor" do not carry to the second "send to external editor"
(It should be noted that any  adjustments made before the first "send to external editor" do in fact carry to the external editor.  It's only the second round that does not.)
Am i looking at a bug here?
    Any others had this experience.

Here is an Apple provided tip for working with Photoshop as an External Editor (which by extension currently applies to any use of third-party software used to edit images in conjunction with Aperture).

    Hope this helps.
