Pictures from iphone to mac book pro

How do I transfer pictures taken on Iphone 4 by syncing the phone or any other way? I want to place pics on my iphone4 to my mac, when i sync i only see choices for computer to phone, not phone to computer.

You can use Image Capture, which is an application included with OS X, to transfer the photos off the phone to the Mac.

Not if it isn't in your itunes library. If you sync with a new computer iTunes will delete all iTunes media (such as music) from your phone and replace it with whatever media is in the new iTunes library. Sounds like that's what happened.

Yes but iPhoto can import directly via Photo Stream.

If you want your photos to end up in iPhoto, just do a normal sync. If you don't want to use iPhoto, or if you just want to put your phone photos in a normal visible folder on the desktop, luckily when you plug in the iPhone a Mac sees it like a camera or card reader. This means the iPhone will show up in common applications that have an import-from-camera feature. I've copied photos off my iPhone using Apple Image Capture, PhoneView, and Adobe Lightroom, for example.

You wil still need to copy everything from the computer you were using, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one. The iphone is not a storage/backup device.
You still haven't said what your issue is.
You open itunes?
You cannect iphone?
You select what you want to sync?
You sync?
What happens?

Need major advice-Iphone,Ipad,Mac Book Pro syncing issues

I just purchased Mac Book Pro this weekend and I also have Iphone 4S and Ipad 1..all now with latest software update. I used a hard drive to save my music and photos from my old PC and imported them into Itunes on new Mac....when I sync Iphone it will not transfer any photos or apps that I originally had on my old computer or any new apps that I have downloaded since the purchase of the new computer. Itunes begins to sync, goes through some of the processes then cancels the sync. This is very disappointing being that I bought the Mac Book to have simple and seamless syncing between IPhone, Ipad 1 and Mac.
In addition, when I downloaded the new software to my Ipad 1, it did a hard reset and I lost every app on my Ipad. Someone please help me get these devices working in harmony!!!!!! I'm desperate and pulling my hair out......Thank you in advance!!!
