That's works but I have also used ES File Explorer and my home's wireless network to copy files from the phone to the shared My Documents folder on both of my computers. I usually employ this option when I'm too lazy to walk upstairs to get usb cord from OEM charger.

With a Windows computer, when you connect the iPhone to the computer via the USB while there are pictures in the Camera Roll, Autorun should start just like it would if you connected a digital camera. When this happens, select Import pictures using Windows. This will open the Import picture box, you can then tag the photos if you want and then import them to the computer. Once you start to Import, there will be a box you can check that will delete the photos from the iPhone once they have been imported.
If Autorun does not start, you can open Computer. You should see the iPhone and you can right-click on the iPhone and select Import and everything else will be the same.

I use Dropbox to do it. You can configure dropbox to automatically upload your pictures to the cloud. You also run an app on your computer to sync to it, and your pictures will sync automatically without you doing a single thing.

when i try and transfer my videos from phone to computer they are tranfering as still images with sound! I have tried going through i tunes! quick time and vlc player but they are all coming up the same!
I have bought several apps to aide with this but they all give the same results!
i find it hard to believe that i cannot transfer videos from iphone as i have a samsung monte too and that requires plugging in and selecting phone then selecting what i want transferring and then they are there to watch as i recorded them!!!!!
these are really important videos of my daughters first steps etc so really need to get this right! and as phone memory is low i cant do much on phone till i get rid of the vids!!!!

Plug your iPhone into your PC, when it is connected open my computer and you will see your iPhone under devices. Double click on your iPhone and a window will open and display a dics drive called "internal storage", double click on internal storage and a folder will appear (might be named DCIM), double click on that folder and another folder should appear. This folder(s) (their may be more then one) should contain all your pictures and videos taken on your iPhone. Simply select the video(s) you want to save to you computer by right clicking on the video, select copy and then paste it where you would like to save it on your pc (click and drag will also work). After you have transfered the videos to your pc see if they play properly.

As an added note, if you are trying to use photo stream, that will only work on newly taken photos. Existing photos when photo stream is turned on will not sync to the stream. Use the connection to your computer as descibed in the link as the way to get photos to your computer.

Are you referring to the password for your email account? If so, recovery of that password would be dependent on your email provider. Normally they have a web based access for email, check there and see if there is a "forgot password" link.

Hey, I've just read your answer regarding Photos folder in an G5 iPod, I hope you can help, 'cos you know it well! I imported photos from my PC to this folder, and then deleted them out. The problem occured when I realized that I might have also deleted some default running files in the Photos folder. Do you sync your iPhone to your own computer? I ask because an i-device can be fully synced to only one computer. Therefore, if you normally sync your iPhone to your own computer, syncing to your son's computer just to get some pictures onto your phone probably bollixed things a bit. (And was unnecessary to do just to get pictures onto the phone.)
Regardless, you should be able to delete individual or small groups of pictures from your iPhone from within the Photos app. Select your Camera Roll, tap the "share" icon in the upper-right corner, select the pictures you want to delete, then tap the DELETE button in the buttom-right.
Getting those pictures from your iPhone to your own computer should work using the same process you've used in the past to get pictures from your iPhone to your computer. The only caveat is that your iPhone might have been paired with your son's computer when you synced it there, so you might need to re-pair it to your own computer first. You should be asked if you want to do this when you connect your iPhone to your computer using the USB cable.
You can also easily share pictures from your iPhone to any device (desktop computer or otherwise) with a standard web browser using this app or one like it:
