Pictures in contacts
i get wrong pictures for my contacts. when i change, delete,.. them on my desktop (osx 10.9) i get totally other versions on my ios devices ( ipad air w ios 7 and phone ios5). seems to me, that the pictures dont get synced properly. any help?

You will need to add a photo to a contact from the iPhone vs the computer. This will then allow you to see a bigger picture when the caller calls you. Currently since they originate from address book it is default to smaller picture. If you sync these pictures to iPhone then assign them to a contact from the iPhone itself it will produce a larger photo.

Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.
Pictures taken with the device are designed to regularly be copied off the device to a computer as would be done with any digital camera.
If you have failed to use the device as designed it may be too late to recovery anything.
Is the device regularly backed up to a computer via iTunes? If so, the most recent backup (when restored to a replacement iOS device) should contain all contacts and pictures as of when the backup was created. -
My New iphone 5 was synced on my sisters computer and now when i want to use it all of my things are gone, including my pictures and contacts. they have all been replaced with her contacts and pictures. how do i get my things back? i have tried syncing with my computer again but since it was new and i hadnt synced it at all, there is no backup on my computer.

Then anything you had on the phone is gone.
Settings>General>Resets>Erase All Content and Settings.
Set it up as a new device again. -
i was having problems with my phone so i went into the apple store and it turns out there was a problem with my operating systerm so i got an update in the store. I want to get my contacts and my pictures back from my old iphone but when I was in the apple shop the man told me to start the phone as a new phone instead of restoring it from an earlier back up as i could get the bug back once restored, is there any way for me to get my pictures and contacts back without restoring it and getting the bug? You should restore from the back up so you can get the info back on your device. Then, what you can do is import those pictures to your computer.
At that point, you'll want to restore again as new possibly, then once your phone is as new, use iTunes to sync those picture from your computer back to your phone.
As far as contacts, do you know if those were ever backed up to iCloud? If so, all you should need to do is sign in with you iCloud account. -
Hi, I got a new iPhone that I havent uploaded to my iTunes yet I had pictures and contacts. I accidentally said to restore it as my old iTouch. Is there a way I can change it back to my old iPhone and get my pictures and contacts back?
You would need to check if you made a back up of the iPhone on iTunes/iCloud before you restored from the ipod touch back up. If there isnt then im sorry that data is gone.

What in the name of Goodness have you done with the full screen picture of Contacts? How dare you just change it without so much as a bye or leave? This is NOT progress but a throwback to about 1997! I supposedly 'updated' to an iPhone two weeks ago. Should have stayed with Samsung I reckon. I am deeply unimpressed!

After I saw that everything was deleted, I hit the back up and only my contacts and photos from May 2010 came back. I then hit 'restore' and all my contacts deleted once again. I just want my pictures and contacts back from before I updated this software!!
if you wanna get back your pictures and notes restore your friend iphone on your pc but make sure that your friend had the same name of your iphone and the same verison of the old sofware before you update , after that all your contact and note and everything are on your friend iphone , you can copy them in a way or another , I did this with my sister iphone , no matter what is the two iphone's generation the sofware verison is the trick xxx

Connect it to your computer. Launch iTunes. Click on the phone's name. Click "Restore from backup".

If this is becuase you cannot access your old account I would try everything first before making a new account.

If you delete the icloud account from your device it will remove the photostream and documents stored in the cloud from the device (if you're using iwork or another app that uses icloud to sync documents).
Photos from the camera roll will still be there.
It will ask if you want to keep the contacts, calendars, reminders, and bookmarks.
If you want to save your contacts choose "Keep on my iphone"
If you create a new apple ID you won't lose anything except your previous purchases, meaning if you wanted to redownload that app you paid for before, you will have to pay for it again with the new ID. -
Hi only just received my z2 but I am having problems assigning pictures to contact the picture as the correct orientation in my album but when I try to assign it it comes up to be cropped on its side and I can't fined out how to rotate the image .i have even tried to the option of take a picture it's still flips the picture on its side.
I tried with me and don't have problem. After chosing the picture in my album I got next step i.e. crop picture. Here you can move "blue square" which helps you to put in centere what you want. After that just confirm Crop button and the picture is assigned to contact.

both in safari and facebook app. Likewise, can't see any facebook contact pictures on contacts app. my sofware is up to date. my facebook app is updated. please advise any solution to this. When you view it from safari, no pictures are shown and it looks like html script texts. In facebook app, there are texts but no no images shown. thanks.
iPad, iOS 6.1.3Where did you get the device? Is it possible that it has an IT policy on the device blocking Facebook and/or Facebook options? Look in Options >Security Options >General Settings (actual menu paths vary with OS version) and see if there is any reference to IT policy.

Adding pictures to contacts in mountain lion

Same here. It seems like I can add only the standard OS X avatars, or any "Faces" I've tagged of the person in iPhoto. I can't just pick a jpeg as my image. The iPhoto Faces option would be less aggravating if manually adding/editing a Face in iPhoto wasn't so buggy.

When I went to sync my iPhone, I accidently hit restore and it made my iPhone have all of the settings of my iPod Touch, erasing my iPhone pictures and contacts. Is there any way to get everything back?
Not to doubt you, but something sounds fishy. I can see accidentally clicking Restore, but to load your Touch's information you would have had to select your Touch's backup file after restoring, which would be hard to do by accident -- unless your iPhone and Touch have the same name?
In any case, your iPhone should have its own backup file on your computer. You can click Restore again and this time select the iPhone's backup file (there should be a device name and date associated with the pop-up window at the end of the restore process). This process will erase your iPhone, reload the OS, and then when you select your backup file then all your iPhone settings, data, sync options, etc. will be re-loaded, including your media (if you auto-sync ... if you manually manage music and video on the iPhone then you'll need to re-select the items you want loaded onto it). -
Cannot send Pictures to Contacts using new BBM 6.0.0.129

I recently upgraded my Blackberry Messenger (BBM) from version 5 to 6.0.0.129. After the upgrade, I have come to realize I can no longer send pictures to contacts unless the picture file size is around 40k or less. I never had any such issue with the previous version of BBM as it always shrunk the picture prior to sending it to the contact; hence the original file size was irrelevant. Now when I try to send a picture larger than 40k, I cannot select the "send" button, only "cancel".
This is a huge inconvenience for me not bing able to share pictures with my contacts any longer and would greatly appreciate advice on how I can correct this issue?

Ringtone and picture for contacts N8
I am trying to give some contacts a ringtone and picture. But what I am doing, it doesn't work.
I go to contacts than "bewerken"(Dutch), "rewrite" in Englisch? and give a tone and picture from my Nokia N8.
But when they call I see nothing and hearing my standard tone.
Anyone a idea?I find adding pictures to contacts easiest using Ovi suite, select contact, edit, add picture from pc then sync contacts. With ringtone,on the handset, select contact>options>edit, scroll to ringtone tap and then select the tone you want to assign to the contact.
