Pictures in form / PDF files very big..!

I need to build a order form, with a lots of pictures so we can illustrate the use for things in the form. We normally use PageMaker and convert our file it into PDF files and send it out by mail.
I hoped at acrobat professional 7.0 (Designer 7) could maker those PDF files and people just could fill in the order, and send it back as a PDF file, but when I start to put pictures in designer, the file just goes really big. If I put only one picture in, that are 103 kb, the finish PDF file is 1.4 MB.
I need to have 50 pictures in my order form, any suggestions ?

Didn't want to bump this thread but I'm suffering from the same problem... anyone????

  • Putting lots of different pictures into different pdf-files together

    hi there,
my boss gave me a tricky task and I dont know how to solve the problem without some help. It's about putting lots of different pictures into different pdf-files together. May be you have some ideas how to succeed. Please excuse my german-laced english.
My task is to merge (or put together) about 4-5 pictures into one pdf. the problem: i have 4.000 pictures. the advantage: the pictures that i have to merge are named pretty similar, it looks like:
    ab_pictures 1
    ab_pictures 2
    ab_pictures 3
    ab_pictures 4
    ab_pictures 5
    cd_pictures 1
    cd_pictures 2
    cd_pictures 3
    cd_pictures 4
    ef_pictu...etc.
    i have to merge ab-picuteres 1-5 to one pdf called "ab_pictures 1", cd_pictures to one pdf called "cd_pictures 1"...
because there are so many picture-groups that i have to merge i was wondering if there is a possibility to automate this task by just telling the programm once what it has to, so it can do it without me sitting next to it, telling it each time what it should do next.
this would safe me a lot (!) of time. Here at my working place there is adobe acrobat reader 9 running, there is also distiller available (I dont know what this appclication is used for).
my question: is it possible to "programm" acrobat that i could do such a task automatically? Or do I have to buy other programms (may be a database-programm or something like that) to be able to it?
thank you very much in advance for your expertise and please excuse my german-laced english.
    regards,

  • How do I convert a picture to a PDF file

I just purchased the Adobe reader monthly to convert picture to PDF files and want to know how to utilize that tool

Are you trying to use the "Camera to PDF" feature in Adobe Reader for iOS?
Go to the Reader home screen.
Tap My Account in the lower left corner.
Make sure that you sign in using the Adobe ID that you've paid the subscription for.
Tap Camera to PDF in the left pane.
Select "Take Photo" (to use the photo that you will take with your iPad/iPhone camera) or "Select Photo" (to use the photo in your camera roll saved in the Photos app).
(Tap/click the image above to enlarge)
In the Preview screen, tap Use in the lower left corner.
The photo will be converted to PDF and automatically saved to Acrobat.com (cloud storage).
You can tap Acrobat.com in the left pane to find the converted PDF document on Acrobat.com.
Please let us know if you have additional questions.

  • Convert Adobe form (PDF file) to Word file

    Hi,
my need is in the title, i would like to convert a Adobe Form, in fact a pdf file to word file. What is the best way ? And of course is it possible ?
    Thanks for your help.
    Cheers.

    Hello,
nothing like this cannot be done. You can generate interactive form if you need your user to fill in some more details. You can generate Word for example using OLE. There is a nice SDN contribution on generating MS Word using SAP Word OLE. Regards, Otto

  • Fine lines all over the picture after converting PDF file to Photoshop CC.

I converted a PDF-file (PDF/X-1a) into a Photoshop file using Photoshop CC and got fine lines over the picture.
Using Photoshop CS5, those lines will not appear.
    Why?

A little mor information. There are no tiles visible in the PDF file from InDesign CC. They appear after converting to Photoshop CC. The PDF file was a PDF/X-1a:2001. Now I wrote a PDF/X-4:2008 in Indesign CC and there are nor mor tiles but horizontal lines already in the PDF. Converted to Photoshop CC, this lines are still visible:
but they are vanished, if I use Photoshop CS5 for converting:

  • Why are my PDF files so big when I open them or when I print them out? I only see and print half of the document, didn't have any problem on internet explorer

I was trying to print something from the internet and when I did what came out was half of the document. What should have been printed in 1 sheet of paper was printed in 2 and it was only half of the document because the letters and images were too large.
I noticed that when I saved the document from the Internet to my folder the document was in half. I tried to save it again but it didn't work. I tried to fix the printer to see if that was the reason but still I continued to see only half of the document. I tried printing again but still the same thing happened.
I thought it was a problem with my printer but then I remembered that the same thing happened with other PDFs files. I then tried the same thing on Internet Explorer and when I saved the document I saved the whole document not only half of it and the letters and images where not large like when I used Mozilla. I was also able to print the whole document in 1 sheet of paper.
I don't how to solve this problem, thank you for your help and attention

    Hi efacg,
Most printing issues are solved by resetting the Printing preferences. When you print from Firefox and you click on the down arrow, do you see Defualt and Firefox? Please make changes to the preferences here and preview the document.

  • Building PDF file very slow when pmd file contains many eps files

I have a 64 page publication which contains a placed .eps file on each page.  (The .eps files are the output of a music notation program and average about 60KB).   I have a new computer with a fast quad pentium processor.  It takes 10 minutes to export a pdf file (It took 45 minutes on my old computer!).
The time is spent in the first phase, where the little window says "Sending page 1,2...etc.  The pages crawl by. PageMaker is CPU bound.
PDF export option or distiller settings appear to have little affect on this.
It was my understanding that eps files, ps files, and pdf files are all similar in structure.  What is taking so long here?
10 minutes is not a lot in the scheme of things right now but this is part of a much bigger book and I am concerend about how much time this process is going to take when we are up to 600 pages.

Well if you don't know, I doubly don't know.
I looked at that lon g list of possible reasons for the Courier substitution, and most or all of them don't seem to apply.  I have no PostScript printer, just an inkjet for drafts.  We NEVER print from PageMaker for any of our work. We make PDFs.  We either print the PDFs here for draft work, or send them out to the printer when we are done.   All the fonts involved are TT fonts.  Whe n I make a .ps file I use PrinterStyles->Acrobat, and actually I've only been doing that to investigate this performance problem to isola te what phase of the process is slow.   Normally I just use the PageMaker Export PDF function and it has worked fine with many customers, many publications, over 10 years.
I'm going to try to fiddle with some of these embedding options to see what arises.
It is suspicious that posting this problem in the Sibelius forum elicits no response.  This cannot be an uncommon workflow in music publishing - use PageMaker for the book framework and place Sibelius scores when needed.   Any kind of music textbook would have this flow.
Do you by any chance know the algorithm for locating fonts when some are referenced and/or imbedded in placed .eps files, and others, possible duplicates, are referenced by the PageMaker document.  Understanding that would be the key to unlocking this puzzle.
Also Jay Chevako asked for the .pdf files.  I will get around to that when I can, I'm not sure what you will infer - the first one will be correct but slow to export and the second will be fast but with the Courier substitution.
    Thanks

  • How can I copy a picture from a PDF file?

I am looking for a app that can copy a picture on a PDF to keynote or pages. I have tried iannotate and adobe reader but failed. I read the introductions of a lot of other PDF apps, such as goodreader and PDF expert, but I don't think they are equipped with this function. Is there any apps having this kind of function? Thanks.

EDIT: Oops! I just noticed that you are asking about iPad! Sorry, I don't know any solutions for you. You can still take a screenshot (hold the on/off button and push the home button).
It depends on what you need. If you are trying to extract a high-resolution image to be printed, you will need Adobe Acrobat (not Reader, but real, paid-for Acrobat) or Adobe Illustrator. Other apps, I'm sure, can do this as well, but those are two.
If you are only going to display the image on-screen, then lower-resolution is okay. Just open the PDF, zoom in on the image, and push command+shift+4 to take a screenshot. Draw a rectangle around the image and a new copy should show up on your desktop.

  • Extract table form pdf file

Is is possible by code to extract table from pdf file to reuse it for other purpose. If yes please let me know the code. thanks

No, because there is no such thing as a "table" in a PDF.  That may be how you as the viewer interprets the data, but in the PDF specification there is nothing defining a "table".  You would need to design your own logic to determine what parts of the PDF content you want to consider a "table" and then based on that, extract the data you want.

  • Exported form pdf boxes not big enough to see and edit in on

how do I set the .pdf exported form to be able to expand the entry box so entrants can see the whole thing they've typed, and so when they print it, it shows the whole box... right now to make the form look small, and not just have big empty boxes, the spaces look smaller but have unlimited entry characters... but you can't see what you're doing with such small boxes that don't expand...is there a setting i'm missing?

No, you are not missing anything. The PDF can't be relayed out to show all of the text in the boxes. Only workaround is to make the text boxes larger
