Pictures in negative

My daughter has a Mac mine and it works fine. I had a new HP display that I did not need so gave it to her. It worked fine for a few weeks. Now all pictures and images are in negative. I have tried every setting on the HP. Is there something on the Mini that we may have unknowingly changed? Is there something that controls that?

Open the Universal Access pane of System Preferences, click on the Seeing tab, turn off White on Black, and drag the Contrast slider all the way to the left.

There are thre kinds of colour profile: RBG, Greyscale and CYMK. It's one of those three.
Select one of the Images on the Finder and go File -> get Info. In the "more info" section of the resulting window you'll see the Color Space:

Your probably seeing the clone source overlay.
With the clone stamp tool selected go to the clone source options and maybe check clipped or uncheck Show overlay.

I have iphone 4 . I don't know how that happened that the normal color on all icons changed ( for example, normally green color phone icon is now purple color ) and photo pictures turned negative ( ghost-like ). Your help will be appreciated .

You can try two possible steps:-
1]Triple click the home button. You should get an accessibility menu.deselect the negative/black and white option.
2]Go to settings->General->accessibility->and deselect invert colours.
That should fix it

That is one of the accessibility functions ('White On Black' or 'Invert Colours' depending upon the iOS version). Try triple-clicking the home button and see if that changes it back, and if it does you can then change what a triple-click does via Settings > General > Accessibility > Triple-Click Home.

Picture prints negative/reverse colors from preview

Hi,
When i print a picture with preview, it prints (Epson AL-C1100) in negative/reverse colors. With all other program's i have no problems. I updated the printer software and have the latest update's from Apple. I read other post about the colormanagement in Preview but the hints there (do not use colorsync but the printers default) do not help. Can someone give me a hint?

Mini display port to HDMI - negative picture issue

I bought a new Macbook Pro 13,3 inch laptop last week and added a 120 GB ssd and 8 GB of RAM. I'm loving it!
Something I'm not loving however is the issue with the Mini Display Port / Thunderbolt when connecting with a MDP-HDMI adaptor. I watch a lot of movies and so hooking the computer up to my Sony BRAVIA 46 inch TV is quite important. Everytime I do the picture and sound are great! For about 5 minutes... then the picture goes "negative" you know that turqoise look?? Like a negative image. The sound is still there, the picture is just affected. To remedy I have to turn the tv off and restart the movie. Very annoying doing this ever 4-5 minutes!!
Is there a fix of some sort? Apple should really release an update for this.

sounds more like a hardware failure.
Try a different monitor to see if the problem persists, in which case that would point to a bad video card... or try a different source with your monitor(another computer), and if the problem persists, that would indicate a problem with the monitor

IChat and Photobooth effects- Broken! Not all but some

Okay so these effects work while iChatting and while looking at the screen in Photobooth. When you try to take a picture however, the result is either negative or white. The pictures looks alright up top right after its taken but down below when you look at the little polaroid icon the picture is negative or white. Also after you click on the little icon to review the picture it no longer looks fine up top.

I don't want to delete these effects. I know how to do that but I want to keep them! I know the pathways and everything. I think they may just be broken because I now have Snow Leopard. I'm not sure when these were installed but I know it was before I installed Snow Leopard. I think they were downloaded from the Apple website though.
Basically my question is, is there anyway to reinstall these effects or change a setting so that they work?
I could put on a screenshot, I have one I just don't know how to put it into the post. If you can explain then I could add that later if it would help.

They are the MoreiChatEffects.
They are causing problems in PhotoBooth mainly but also in iChat.
As you know they are in the Compostions folder you will know they are Quartz files.
If you Install Developer Tools off the Install Disk > Options Installs folder you can open them.
It seems they are not fully Intel or rather not fully integrated with the OS in Snow Leopard.
Older Quartz files like the ones that come with this Utility http://www.scriptsoftware.com/chatfx/ DO NOT work with the OS above 10.4.9
Both these seem to be because Apple have made changes in the way the basic Video stream is captured for each OS.
With the Chat FX ones I made a Duplicate (Finder > File Menu) and then played around.
If I was going to do it with these I would take an Apple one and keep the Input model and Output module and replace it with an MoreiChatEffects one to see if I could get it to work in Snow Leopard (Photobooth and iChat).

It does also say Intel but nothing I saw about Snow Leopard.

Adjusting Date

Checking to see if anyone has seen a similar problem that I am seeing.
I have been scanning in various old pictures and negatives into aperture. When I go in and change the date for a block of pictures using the "metadata-adjust date and time" the pictures update and show the new date and time. The problem comes when I view the various projects "date-oldest first". At random times the project will show the right date for the photos within the project, but not display it in date order. In fact, the project folder will show today's date for example if I imported the scans today, even though the pictures have the right date. Again, it is random. If I exit and repair the database all is well and the projects display as they should and all dates are note correctly.

Are you using version 2.0 or 2.0.1? There were reports of seemingly random date/time adjustments with 2.0, but from I've read it was fixed in 2.0.1.
In [this thread|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6737979&#6737979] someone figured out that the "random" isn't really random.

HT1349 The iPhone 4S setting (white on black) it is so cool! But one thing that I don't know if Apple is aware of this glitch or not, but they need to fix it, when you go to that mode every picture and every icon go to negative view, has anyone experience

One very COOL feature on iPhone 4S that I just discovered, is the (White on Black) display mode, which is so cool and atrictive. When you go to that mode, every picture on the iPhone, facebook, icons and every other applications that displays a picture are effected, native or installed Apps. that displays a picture goes in to negative view, if you want to view your pictures, you have to go back to the default setting, very disappointing.
This is a very cool feature and Apple needs to find a way that all photos are immune and preserved from the conversion when a user switches to that mode.
Love to hear your comments and suggestions and I'm sure that Apple developers can come up with a solution to fix the glitch.

Hmmmm, http://www.seattlepi.com/ loads fine hear in 10.4.11, FF 3.6.8, but I do see it uses some kind of Flash.
The last really supported Flash for PPC was 10.1.102.64, but if it's for like Facebook or such, people have been fooling FB to think they have a leter version installed.

(If you are running a PPC Mac with Flash Player 10.1.102.64 and are having problems with watching videos on FaceBook or other sites, contributor Texas Mac Man suggests the following solution which fools the site into thinking that you are running the latest version:)

Picture on TV go to negative after a while...

Hi,
i've recently bought new MacBook Pro (HiRes, 15'', SSD). When i connect it on TV with HDMI adapter (and HDMI to HDMI cable) the picture on TV is good for a while (10-15min) but than goes to negative.

When i again select the same resolution on "Color Display" (in my example (second pic above) to 1680 × 1050) the picture on TV goes back to normal (but after a while the picture goes again back to negative etc...). The picture on the mac is always good.
On the old HP laptop (for 500€) everything was working fine but on the new mac for 2200€ i have problems and at the moment i'm really disappointed.
Where is the problem?

Have you tried to see if sysrq works? I'd say that as long as the kernel itself doesn't crash it should work.

When on facebook or sites with pictures, the pctures almost look like a negative except that it's green. this does NOT happen in IE

That's strange, I haven't heard of that one! A standard diagnostic step is to try Firefox's Safe Mode to see whether it is caused by a custom setting or add-on.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, restart Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode Safe Mode] using

In the Safe Mode dialog, do not check any boxes, just click "Continue in Safe Mode."
If the photos look right, the problem most likely is an add-on or custom setting. Do you have any add-ons that modify or block images, ads, or Flash?
