Pictures missing after resetting system.

Using an ipad. I reset all settings in order to get my imessage and FaceTime to work; and it was apparently reset to an earlier date than I wanted. All my apps and so forth are there now, but several pictures are missing. I didn't have anything saved on iCloud or whatever; but only pictures to that date were saved. I've backed it up on iCloud twice. How do I get back the rest of my pictures?

I have the same problem. I bought an iPod Touch 4G 64GB last June. After upgrading to the new iOS 5, most of my pictures, apps and music is gone. Every time I try and recover my backup the system crashes. I tried to call their technical support to restolve the problem but I was told that I had to pay $29 to solve the problem that they created.
This is a disgrace and I'm never buying an Apple product again.
People are saying restore the iPod but with mine that didn't help.

  • Some iPhoto pictures missing after time machine recovery, were there errors reported during backup that I missed?

Hello. I used time machine/time capsule to automatically back up my sytem over the last 3 years and I used the backups to recover my system to a new hard drive when the original drive began to fail. After recovery, I noticed there are missing photos in iPhoto.
I'm curios where I should look to see why they weren't backed up, and why it wasn't obvious to me at the time that they weren't backed up.
Does time machine explicitly call out issues when it can't back up a file or does it just squirrel a message away in the system log?
I'd like to know because I'd like avoid this issue going forward.
    Full disclosure & History -
The hard drive on my late 2009 27" iMac was exhibiting issues and started to go bad. No problem I thought, I'll get a new one and recover the system from my time capsule.
The full recovery was initiated from the OS install media. Upon recovery, the system wouldn't boot. After booting from the OS install media and reinstalling the OS on top of the recovered data the system booted and seemed to retain almost everything. This may not be the best way to recover but it seemed to work.
    I additionally had to:
    repatch the OS
    reinstall iWork
relicense MS Office (otherwise office seemed to be intact)
When I started looking through my iPhoto libraries, there were some events with no pictures (mostly the newer events). I couldn't find the pictures on the time capsule either so I'm curios if there was anyway I could have known that backups weren't completing successfully. I had run a time machine incremental backup before pulling out the old hard drive and it seemed to complete successfully so I'm at a loss. I can understand that as the hard drive began to fail, there may have been issues backing up the data, but I somehow missed it if/when the problems were reported.
Should I go through the old system logs that were backed up on the time capsule and look for backupd messages/errors? Going forward, how do I know if there are backup issues?
It took me a couple weeks to realize the drive was failing. I had noticed that the system performance was getting bad, and the system would occassionally hang. It would come back OK after a restart. I thought it was because the filesystem was getting close to full (30GB left on a 1 TB drive) so I was chasing down cleaning up some data to make more room. There were suggestions in other forums to try and keep the filesystem 10% free.
While moving data from the internal drive to a new external drive (to free up space) the system would hang. I eventually found a couple disk0 errors in the kernel log and I actually witnessed disk0 disappear while running an iostat. I'm thinking it took me too long to know the disk was going bad, and so the pictures I imported over the last 3-4 weeks may be gone.
I still have the original drive so I'll see if anything else can be salvaged from it.
    Looking for some suggestions on
    1) the ability to know if time machine backups are successful and are in sync with my system
    2) the ability to know when there are hardware issues that I should be aware of
If you got to this point, thanks for taking the time to read through all this.

    -mike

    Hi Mike,
I just saw this post and saw no one has responded.  You might have figured out but in case, I wanted to let you know what I found out.  I had the same problem.  Hard drive failure, they installed a new one and my iPhoto pictures were missing.  I couldn't find them on Time Machine either which baffled (and frustrated) me b/c I just backed up my drive and I was missing pictures from over a year ago.
I found this article and it allowed me to at least find my pictures...so they weren't lost after all.
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/16029742#16029742
As for why they aren't showing up in iPhoto or Time Machine, the lady at the Mac store said it is probably an OS conflict.  Which makes sense since I can see the actual pictures in the iPhoto content file (per the article mentioned above).  However, I didn't have my computer with me at the store to have a Genius person help me resolve the conflict.
BUT, if you can find the pictures, then maybe you can reimport them into iPhoto?  Just a thought.
    Good luck!

  • Z10 - 10.2.1 to 10.3.1: One year of camera pictures missing after updating

    Hello,
After updating a Z10 from 10.2.1 to 10.3.1, I have one device (out of 5) with one year of pictures that are unaccounted for (April 2014 to before the update). The Z10 has a SD card but pictures were always saved on the Device storage. The BlackBerry Link full backup file size dropped from 7.64GB to 4,44GB after updating the device, so the pictures are clearly not there anymore.
I always backup devices before updating, so I was able to recover the missing pictures, but this is not acceptable behavior ... Seems to me to be a very serious bug.
    Very similar to this post:
Missing camera pictures and saved picture files following OS update from 10.2 to 10.3
    https://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/forums/replypage/board-id/Z10/message-id/74141

Confirmed that the same bad behavior is there now that the calendar has rolled forward to May.
Like I said this raises the question of what else is broken in the basic functionality of an essential app.
BlackBerry folks reading this - hope to you see you reproduce the bug, and acknowledge ingestion of a bug report into your internal bug tracking system, for priority fix on next OS release.
Others reading this, if you reproduce the bug (should be easy) - please add comments as you see fit, to get BlackBerry's attention on this one.

  • Infopackages are missing after an system copy from Prodution to Quality

    Hi SAP Gurus,
After an DB copy, from BW Prodution to Quality, the infopackages are missing.
Can anyone can tell me how to get the infopackages from PRD to QAS.
    Thanks,
    Pedro Martins

    Hi
    Casue for package missing
In some cases infopackages will be missing because of the INIT Delta infopackage will be copied againg from  Production were duplicates are created for the same Init. so in such cases the package will be missing
During DB copy if any infopackage are created in production at that point of time the system will not take that package into consideration
inorder to get the package we can do reverse transport (from production to Quality)
    follow the steps as below
Transporting from BWP TO BWQ : Reverse Transports
    Step1
Create request in Source System (Eg: BWP) say A and  Collect required objects (infopackage)into request A
    Step2
Goto TCode : SE09/SE10 --> create a transport of Copies request B (give the user name and tick on transport copies just below the workbentch request)
    Step3
Check, check box for Transport of Copies and click Create , now the system will prompt one more screen
    Step4
Now choose Transports of Copies and continue.
    Step5
Enter required Target system(F4 help available) Eg: BWQ.
    Step6
    Unlock Objects(Tcode : SE03) from Request A and Move Objects to Request B(Tcode SE10).
    Step7
    Delete objects from Request A
    Step8
    Relase the request B (se09)
    Step9
Now log on to the Target System(Eg: BWQ) import Queue and import request.
    Step10
In BWQ queue go to menu Request >Forward> give BWD or
you can directly provide BWD as Target System in Step 2
    Step11
Go to BWD and import the request.

  • Some Pictures Missing After transfer

I recently bought the iPhone 5 after having the Droid 2. I went to the verizon store and had them transfer everything over for me. For some odd reason they said they couldn't get all my contacts over because it was taking too long ( I have over 500 but I found a much easier way to transfer contacts [not backup assistant.] ) However, the problem is that I go under my About tab under settings and it says I have 978 pictures. I go to my camera roll and it says I have 538 pictures. The issue is, which is the proper amount of pictures on my iPhone. I don't want to use up space for stuff that I can't see. Where are those 440 other pictures, and how do I see them.

        Hi codttgs,
I know that going from a Droid to iPhone is a change like night and day. With Droid, everything that shows available is viewable but with iPhone it may be different. I recommend you check Settings -> iCloud -> Photo Stream. If Photo Stream is on there may be pictures synced with your account that are only on the backup file and not physically on your phone. You can turn it off so that the pictures don't back up. If you'd like to view the remaining files, you can go to iCloud.com and sign in with your details. Keep us posted if you're able to locate them or not.

  • Quickoffice and adobe MISSING after reset

    Hello Everyone,
I resetted my E7 yesterday, and noticed that Quickoffice and Adobe readers disappeared!
I tried reinstalling Belle from the nokia suite, all went well, but QO & Adobe are still missing.
I tried deleting the downloaded installation files from c:\users\all users directory, re-downloading the nokia belle update (~350mb) and re-reinstalling the OS, but still QO and Adobe are missing.
I tried *#7370#, "delete and restore" etc, but to no avail.
I tried changing OSes - WinXP, Win7, Win7 64bit etc, but still no avail.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Tks.

    Hi northwinde,
    Welcome to Nokia discussions board!
Quickoffice and Adobe are both downloaded applications, they will be erased if you do a hard rest on the device. To get them back, you can just download them from here Quickoffice and  PDF Reader. If you paid already for them, just go on the market > History then download them again.

  • Pictures missing in photo stream after empty-battery + work around

I recently had a situation where synchronizing photos between my iOS7 and MacOS 10.9 devices failed and/or showed strange effects (individual pictures missing).
After a day of annoying experiences I realised that the problems started after the iPhone (that I use for taking photos) had switched itself off due to an empty battery (there's just too much to see at the Carneval in Venice ;-) After fully charging the iPhone I took more photos but some (!) of the new photos (and some of the older photos) did not sync.
WORK AROUND: restarted the iPhone once more.

    Summary
Photo stream IS "Recently Added" as well as "Recently Taken" combined.  If it was taken with this phone, it can be favorited.  If not, there's no favorite (heart) icon.
    Details
So I have 2 iphones I use, one for work, one personal.  I do very little with the work one and never had photo stream turned on but I use the same itunes account for both so I can share itunes match and photos and contacts if/when I chose to.
I was confused about where photo stream went as well.
So prior to turning on photo steam on my work phone, I saw that I had 4 photos (mostly screen shots) on the work phone, under "recently added".  I took a picture with the phone to be sure.  Yup, it was added to recently added but not "summarized" (not sure why it wasn't summarized but nothing else is on that phone).
I have other settings to "default" including having "summarize photos" turned on.
I then turned on "My Photo Stream" and saw photos start getting added to "Recently Added".  The count ended up being around 625 which is huge, but much less than the 1000 on my windows Photo Stream, and less than the 661 or so on my personal phone.  Not sure if this is the 30 days limitation on my personal or what the limitation is on my work phone.
FYI, did all this with wifi so the download was moderately fast.
Another thing of note.  Photos that were taken with the same phone have the favorite icon (the heart).  Photos taken on the other phone do not.  So that's how to tell if it's only on the photo stream.

Double-clicking on an .itl file makes iTunes open the last database that it opened, not necessarily the file clicked on. To switch libraries press & hold down shift as you attempt to lauch iTunes. If you don't see the choose or create dialog close iTunes and try again.
If you've opened the "correct" library but it doesn't have the expected content see Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash...

  • Even after setting system preferences to Never accept cookies and having deleted all cookies, Safari continues to add cookies.  I've tried to reset safari but the problem persists.  How can make safari Never accept cookies.

I'm having a problem with cookies on Safari.
Even after setting system preferences to Never accept cookies and having deleted all cookies, Safari continues to add cookies.  I've tried to Reseting Safari several time but the problem persists.  This is occurring under two different user logins one of whom is an administrator the other a standard user.  How can I get safari to Never accept cookies?  This is a recent problem because in the past it used to work properly. Any idea what might be going on here?

    Hi David:
I did read (yesterday in another thread) about a similar problem.  I cannot test it myself as I accept cookies (from sites I visit) and do not want to delete all of mine for a test.
I do not know whether it meets your requirements, but you could turn on private browsing.  I use that (or Microsoft's variant on IE) when I use public computers.

How do we get other JCo appear asthey were already configured before.

    Hi Purav,
I think yuu need me create manually as per your required JCO for ESS/MSS applciation.
Try to check in the SLD if all earlier JCO's available

  • Pcie re-enumerate fail after reset

In my V7 FPGA image there are several PCIE switch devices and 1 PCIE
endpoint device. I attach it on a Linux x86 laptop. When the system start
normally, the hierarchy and the bus:device.function number are :
               SW0(05:00.0)
                |
      |                                       |
     SW1(06:00.0)          SW2(06:01.0)
      |
     EP (08:00.0)
When I assert a whole chip power on reset. The devices are re-enumerated.
But the hierarchy may change. Some time they are identically the same with
the normal ones. But sometime I saw the bus number of SW1/2 has changed and
the EP failed to be enumerated. The hierarchy is like:
               SW0(05:00.0)
                |
      |                                              |
     SW1(0B:00.0)          SW2(0B:01.0)
      |
     (missing EP,the
    secondary bus number
    of SW1 is 0xD)
The EP was missing because the HOST didn't send CONIG RD/WR to 0D:00.0
after it set the secondary bus number of SW1 to be 0xD.
Can anyone help me to give answer to the following questions:
    1. Why the bus driver/HOST assign 0xB to the secondary bus number to SW0
    rather than 0x6 after reset?
    2. Why the bus driver/HOST didn't send CONIG RD/WR to 0D:00.0 to proceed
    the enumerate?
BWT: On MS windows system the re-enumerate is always success with
    unchanged hierarchy after reset.

    Hi Anthrol,
For the BUS:Device, enumeration - if you look at the tree, the 2 switches are on the same tree level, and are this considered on the same "BUS".  If these were Peer-to-Peer capable, they would simply be different devices on the same level.
For the re-enumeration, you would need to look into that with the Linux driver controlling the root -- that is responsible for enumeration.  You are correct, if the part never receives a new BDF, it won't appear in the device tree, and anything the Root addresses to BDF 0D:00.0 will be discarded by the switch as URs (Unexpected Requests).

  • Activating data in DSO got dump SAPSQL_EMPTY_TABNAME after BW system copy

    Hi all,
We had an issue after system copy.
After a system copy the data in the standard DSOs(all of them) cannot be activated. The DOSs themselves are active, the transformations are active but if one attempts to load data and activate u2013 it does not work. The job terminates with shortdump SAPSQL_EMPTY_TABNAME.
Found the issue is caused by u201Cmore than one versionu201D of the change log.
We tried the Program RSAR_RSTSODS_CHANGELOG_VRS but it didn't work.
We had the solution like this:
After activating the DSO itself(the object) using RSDG_ODSO_ACTIVATE the issue disappears and the data can be activated. Issue also disappears. BUT Drawback: Activating the DSO causes the transformations to deactivate. Then we used the program RSDG_TRFN_ACTIVATE to activate all transformations. And then the issue disappeared.
Want to know what the root cause for this. From some SDN threads, mentioned BDLS job in the post refresh steps are not correctly done during system copy may cause this issue. How did the BDLS run wrongly cause this issue? And what is the exact correct way? We ran BDLS for each source systems inlcuding the target refreshed BW system itself by the default selection - conversion of Client-Dependent and Client-Independent Tables; because we used database copy
    for the system refresh.
We also restored all source systems in RSA1 inlcuding the refreshed BW system own in the post-refresh steps.
Thank you very much for your information and suggestion.
    Heming

Hi Arun, as you say two change log tables it´s strange. In fact in my opinion it´s not right but the problem is that the second change log table appears after executing std SAP report RSDG_ODSO_ACTIVATE in order to be able to activate the DSO. So the solution provided by SAP it works but i´m not sure if the right one. Besides this the original change log table is full of data while the second one is empty... for new loads which are gonna a be filled  by the activation process ? I suppose the second one... will this have some impact with the data stored in the first one... not in theory but.... i do not feel confortable with the consequences of this report.
And the most important, it seems that the reason why the DSO and the change log table had problems is due to a some problems or missing steps after executing the BDLS after BW system refresh but nobody can confirm this point...
So, i´ve been able to solve the issue but now i have two change log tables for the same DSO.
Anybody has the same situation after executing the above mentioned SAP std report ?

    Joaquin Casas Baca-Castex
