Pictures noy in folder

Is there any way of finding pictures which I have not allocated into albums? (i.e in the library, but not in any album.
thanks
MST

Try creating a smart folder from finder >click on your desktop> File>New Smart Folder. Type in .jpg for the main search criteria and see what happens. If you like the results save the folder.
Second method: Open another finder window. Next to Kind It says Any>click drop-down arrow>select images. Where it says last opened>click drop-down arrow>select size> Where it says greater than type 35 KB.

  • Images not in "~/Pictures/iPhoto Library" folder not properly handled

One of the features I was grateful for in iPhoto 6 is the ability to NOT import photos into the ~/Pictures/iPhoto Library" folder. This meant I could use iPhoto to view and edit photos without duplicating a folder structure I use for my photo files.
Unfortunately, I have now discovered that any program that attempts to access photos through the iPhoto API can see the previews for these images, but can not actually access the images. This means the "Desktop & Screen Saver PrefPane" can see the iPhoto previews, but fails to load an image for the Desktop (or Screen Saver). NOTE: It does appear that iMovie does see the photos properly, but other non-iLife portions of the MacOS don't.
Anyone got a fix for this? I suspect it is a bug in the iPhoto sharing API, but I am hoping someone might have a fix.

I don't think there is an API for iPhoto, or at least I cannot find it anywhere. Any integration with iPhoto is purely a hack.
If you can find documentation for an API, please let me know.

  • Can't save pictures on original folder position after edit...since I'm upgraded to IOS7 on IPad2.

can't save pictures on original folder position after edit, get save popup to save at different position, also still on toubles to get them back to original folder positon since I'm upgraded to IOS7 on IPad2.

I say the problem is probably noted, and probably will be resolved. Not that i can speak for Apple.  I find the "problems" of wallpaper to be pretty minor compared to the advantages of iOS 7.  The fun of wallpaper has always been pretty insignificant here.

  • I have pictures in a folder, how can I display them in name order?

I have pictures in a folder, how can I display them in name order?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
I don't think you can. You might ensure that their creation dates are in order, but I'm not so such that will help. Ordering seems to be a feature limited to use with iPhoto/Aperture.

  • How to move a picture in another folder with drag & drop

I want to move a picture in another folder with drag&drop. I work´s any more. What I do wrong?

    Hi all!
    Thanks.

    Now it works!

  • How do I select multiple pictures in a folder

How do I select multiple pictures in a folder? I have tried shift + click, command + click etc but cannot find a way of selecting a large group without selecting individually

Select the first image.  Then Command-Click on each additional image you want to select as part of a group.
If you are using List mode, you can click on the first, then Shift-Click on the last, and all the files between the first and the last will also be selected.
Command-Click will still work to add additional non-sequential, or to remove items from the list already selected.

  • Transferring Photos to an external hard drive. I Copied all the pictures from a folder in iPhoto and Pasted on the Hard Drive. However, only about 50% were Pasted. It will not let me Copy

I am trying to Transfer my Photos to an External Hard drive as a Back Up. Since I want to be able to Transfer them to a Windows based computer if necassary, I did not use the Automatic Mac Backup program.
To Transfer them. I Copy all the Pictures in a folder in IPhoto, then Paste them in a Folder of the same name, which I have created on the External Hard Drive. It will Paste about 50% of the Photos. Then, when I try to go back and Copy and Paste the rest, it acts like it has already done that. HELP!!!

By default, iPhoto keeps pictures in a special library which isn't user friendly - but is effective for the program. The best way to move pictures from iPhoto is to export them from the iPhoto program.
Start up iPhoto and select all the photos you want to move to your external drive. Go to the File Menu and select Export... For size choose original and then select the external drive as the destination. (It would be good to create a folder for the photos first.)
Since export doesn't create folders and you may want the photos organized, you can select one event or one album at a time and export each separately, putting them into separate folders on the external.

  • All pictures in 1 folder after import - problem?

    Hi,
due to a hardware change (I´m now an iMac Owner ;)) I had to import all my photos into iPhoto.
Previously I did a copy of all my photos on an external hard drive, unfortunately without any folder structure. In other words all phtos (approx. 9.000 photos) were inside 1 folder on the external hard drive.
After importing the photos iPhoto automatically put all the files/pictures into the folder ORIGINALS but also without any subfolder. In the meantime I have of course splitted one respective event into 40-50 accordingly inside iPhoto.
Overall a new photo structure was planned anyway!
    Question:
Is it a problem of speed or any other issue if iPhoto has to search always through the whole folder when accessing a single photo. I did not get any warning when importing the photos within the iPhoto application. Or is it only a question of folder structure inside iPhoto without any limits related to speed or possible other issues? Or will be originals inside iPhoto never touched?
Does it make sense to split the original files within the folder ORIGINALS into subfolder? AFAIK a manual change of the iPhoto structure is not recommended, right?
I hope someone understand my nonsens ..

AFAIK a manual change of the iPhoto structure is not recommended, right?
Very right. Doing that will corrupt the Library.
Don't change anything in the iPhoto Library Folder via the Finder or any other application. iPhoto depends on the structure as well as the contents of this folder. Moving things, renaming things or otherwise making changes will prevent iPhoto from working and could even cause you to damage or lose your photos.
It makes no difference whatever how iPhoto stores the photos inside the Library Package. You do all your work in the iPhoto Window and there is never a need for you to go into the Library package at all.
So, organise your photos in the iPhoto Window
    Regards

  • HT2478 Too many pictures in screensaver folder - can't change it - help?

I loaded too many pictures inside a folder for screensaver and now I can't seem to select another folder.  It stops responding when I try to change.  Help?

Ok.  Maybe we are not being clear.
    a) the home (user library) optionkey>finder>go>library>screen savers is empty.
Apparently you do not have any custom savesavers.
    b) the HD>library>screensaver folder is empty (same as above?)
Not the same.  HD is system (what the system uses to run your comp or system files you have transferred from another computer).
Home (user Library) are files that you personally use.
As for the screensaver folder being empty, that's ok.
    c) the HD>system>library>screensaver folder has lots of saver files in it (althought they all look to correspond with savers that are not slideshows, e.g., Flurry)
I've never moved any of these files and can't think how I would have ever done this accidentally.  Maybe this is too technical.
You seem to be ok as far as your screensaver mappings.
Can you give me a file to search for - maybe I can locate e.g., the Ken Burns photo slideshow screen saver.
Ken Burns slideshow is part of iPhoto.  However, to actually find it takes a lot of legwork.
    Machintosh HD>System>Library>PrivateFrameworks>Slideshows.framework>Versions>A>Resources>C ontent
    >Styles>KenBurnes.mrbStyle.  Click on the folder>Contents>Resources>Preview.mov is the Ken Burns photo slideshow!
Although I am not new to Macs, I am new to Mountain Lion. I depend on a book called, OS X Mountain Lion: The Missing Manual - David Pogue .  This book is very easy reading, non technical & non geeky.  I strongly recommend this book as it takes you step-by-step through Mountain Lion.
Since you are new to Macs, take full advantage of your warranty & purchase AppleCare for that piece of mind.  Out of warranty resources:  There is Apple’s own Knowledge Base Articles:  http://support.apple.com/kb/index?page=search

  • How can I rearrange the order of pictures within a folder

I have an 8310 and all of the pictures are stored on a media card.  The pictures are all within one folder.  I want to rearrange the order of the pictures within the folder.  When looking at the pictures they are in rows of 3.  I want to move picture #9 to position #1 within the same folder. I've read all the help topics and have not been able to accomplish this.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Go to your photoshop.com website. Log in if needed. Click on "Online Tools."  Choose "Photoshop Express Organizer."  Click and drag photos into the order you want.
Captions might best be added in the Elements Editor Organizer (99jon is correct) by double-clicking on thumbnail to make a full screen image, then a line appears under the photo and asks you to print your caption there. Sync it with your online website.

  • Pictures in the folder - not showing in the project - why?

I had referenced pictures and I decided to consolidate into the Aperture library - The consolidate command seemed to work fine. I see all the pictures in the folder. The project says there are 132 pictures - which is correct - but when I look at the project, there are only 5 showing. I have rebuilt previews. What is going on?
    Help !! :-)

Are you sure you don't have any filters set? Make sure the fiter is set to Show All. Also if you have any stacks make sure they are opened.

  • How to transfer a few selected pictures I need from iPhone 4 Camera Roll with four hundred pictures to PC Vista. Just selected pictures not all folder

How to transfer a few selected pictures from iPhone 4 Camera Roll with four hundred pictures to my PC Vista. Just selected pictures not all folder. Thanks

You do understand though, that if something happened to your phone - if you lost it, if it were stolen, if you dropped it and were unable to access it, if it got wet - all those pictures that you had not transferred to your computer would no longer be so "handy." Just saying, I have not only read that horror story from many users on this forum, but have seen it live from many users in my own life. Do yourself a favor and back them up sooner rather than later by transferring them all now. Trust me on this, you won't regret it.

  • Recents.plist file in my User/Pictures/Photo Booth folder?

When I use PhotoBooth, a preference file named Recents.plist forms inside my User/Pictures/Photo Booth folder along with the picture. Why is this happening and can it be stopped?

Hello and thanks again BDAqua for writing. Yes, if I delete this Photo Booth Recent.plist file it will come back in the same place in my User/Photo Booth folder after I take another picture in Photo Booth. After deleting the one that was created earlier this morning, a Spotlight search shows no other file named Recents.plist anywhere on my HD. Spotlight also shows no entries named Photo Booth except the application itself and the one in my User/Pictures folder. I have no Photo Booth folder you describe to hold this preference file in my User/Application Support folder at all. The last four weekly clones I've taken also have no Photo Booth folder in that Application Support folder.

  • Why would only a one picture from a folder be syncing from iTunes to my iPad?

When I sync photos from iTunes to my iPad only the first picture in each folder is transferred. This used to work fine, but I've started using the camera connection kit and I've upgraded the iOS version to the 4.3.2. Don't know for sure when it stopped working.

Found another discussion that referenced this problem. Solution was to unclick the read-only attribute for each of the photos. For Windows 7, this can be done by right-clicking on the folder to be synced with your iPad and selecting Properties. Unfortunately, it does not change the read-only attribute for the subfolders, and so I was only able to sync one large folder versus a folder of folders. I don't know why iTunes cannot sync read-only files since it should not be modifying them. Hopefully, this will be fixed on the next iTunes release.
