Pictures With Your iPod Touch

add your pictures with your iPod touch

For most folks, it actually makes the photos smaller. It goes through some "optimization" to make the photos the proper size, etc, for the iPod. Maybe if they're too small, that optimization makes them bigger? My 162 photos, which are 219 MB on my computer, are 102 MB on my iPod, so a bit more than 1 MB for two photos.
In an attempt to answer the OP's non-question... in order to get photos onto the iPod from your computer, you need to select the "Photos" tab in iTunes when your iPod is hooked up, and select directory/directories that contain photos (or will contain photos) to sync to your iPod.
If you let us know what your question is, we can better help

can you listen to music with your ipod touch 4g and a bluetooth handsfree device

Yes if the BT device supports the profiles supported by the iPod. See:
    iOS: Supported Bluetooth profiles
The A2DP provide is used with speaker and headphones
The Hands Free profiles (HFP) is typically used with headset (headphones and mic).

  • When I take a picture with my iPod touch 5G they do not come out as 4 inch pictures, how do I make it so the camera takes fitted pictures?

When I take a picture with my back camera the pictures have black bars on the top and bottom. They do not come out 4 inches. How do I fix this?

Because the screen aspect ratio is different that the camera aspect ratio. The only way it could fill the screen vertically would be either to stretch/distort  the photos vertically or to cut off some of the photos on the sides.

  • You can take screen shots with your ipod touch!

I found this by accident.press the power button and home button at once but dont hold and the screen will flash. Now go look in your pictures or photos. It will be in there.=)

  • Syncing DVDs to your iPod Touch

    Hello,
This is my first post on Apple Discussions. I would like to first comment on how supportive and polite this community seems to be, and cannot wait to get active in it.
Apple products are some of the best in my opinion. Innovative, fun, and very usable. You guys are evolving technology in ways no one else has. The work Apple has done on computers, handhelds, and even small accessories have led the path to inspiration and innovation in technology.
Okay, I am done sucking up now, haha. I will move on to my question.
Is it possible for you to sync DVD's, that you have bought at a store, with your iPod Touch? If so, can you use a CD-ROM, or do you need a CD-DVD on your computer? For example, I can take albums I have bought, let's say Elton John's +Songs From the West Coast+, and put them in my CD-ROM and they will automatically add those songs in a database that I can copy to my iTunes which I can sync to my Touch. Is the same possible with DVDs?
There are tons of movies I have bought that I would really like to contribute to my iPod Touch library. Some movies I have on DVD aren't even available in the iTunes Store. Now that is really frustrating.
Please give personal experiences with this, official Apple documentation about this, or any support you can give. I will greatly appreciate it!
Thanks in advance for all support!
    Chase

Well I wasn't planning on ripping, but I bought the DVD, and I am not redistributing it, so shouldn't I be fine?
Is there no way to add it on the Touch without "ripping" it?
And if I can't add a DVD onto my Touch, is there a place where I can suggest videos to be added to the iTunes store.
Thanks for the quick response as well.

  • How can I recover pictures taken with my iPod touch 4g?

At one point in time about a year or so ago I took some pictures with the camera on my iPod touch 4g, and just assumed that when Apple said it was "backing up" my iPod, that it included those pictures. I even have an "iPod Photo Cache" folder (or did, until I deleted it a few days ago upon discovering that there were tons of unreadable files w/ NO PICTURES ). Well, I've had to restore my iPod touch a time or two and no longer have those pictures, or any other ones I had taken with the camera before the restore. I have everything else from the backup, but not those pictures, and I really want them now. I thought I had them stored safely away in an email somewhere (or a reply to the email, for I sent the email with the pictures from my iPod ). As it turns out, that was one of the email replies that never came through, and was copied and forwarded to me in a different email! So now I have no copies of those pictures, and while most of them I don't care about, there are a few I want back. Is there ANY way to recover those pictures? Thanks for any help!

if you've backed up your ipod touch via iTunes, all of your photos will still be there as of that point. Hopefully you do it often and wont lose many of the new ones.. There is a Software named Dr.Fone for iOS which can recover deleted iPod touch photos. It did a decent job recovering my iPod touch 4 photos without even any iTunes backup.

  • When you backup your Ipod touch on a PC, where do your pictures go?

When you backup your Ipod touch on a PC, where do your pictures go?

Photos inside the camera roll are part of the backup, they are not stored on your PC if you don't transfer them manually:

  • Can ANYONE help me with my pictures on my ipod touch?

Is there anyway i can transfer my pictures from my ipod touch to my computer without connecting my ipod to the PC?

If the ipod is running ios 5, and your computer is running lion, you can use apple's photo stream.  Just turn on icloud on both devices.  Here is how to do it: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/

  • Pictures from my ipod touch do not show up when I try to import them

I am trying to import pictures from my iPod touch, but in iPhoto, nothing shows up except that it says "loading..." I'm not sure if this is a problem with my iPod or laptop.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all AB and resync
To delete all ADgo to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Manage Storage>AB and try deleting them from there
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Hello, I have a problem 4th with my iPod touch

    Hello,
I have a problem 4th with my iPod touch
I just wanted to edit a picture, and then he is always crashed.
Hope someone can tell me what to do.
    THX, Soundwave1409

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

  • How do you use your iPod Touch?

I'm thinking of buying an ipod touch 5th gen, but I have to convince myself that it would help me significantly before I drop $300 on a device. My question: how do you use your iPod Touch, aka, what things have helped you significantly, excluding games? I've heard a ton about how awesome the new version is, and everything about its camera and retina display, but I want to know that I would actually use one first....
    Thanks.

Surf the web from bed and coffee shops/bookstores.  When in a store that has WiFi I may research a product that looks interesting to buy.
It is a camera that is always with you (assuming you always take it with you), so you can capture that picture that happens once in a life time.  Also the camera is great when shopping for "Big Ticket" items as you can take pictures to remind you of things you were looking at so you can do additional research at home before making your final decision.
Check my mail from bed and coffee shops/bookstores, etc... when WiFi is available.
Use it as an alarm clock, meeting reminder, todo reminder.
Take notes (not school notes, just ideas, stuff I maybe want to buy, useful information I may pick up in a bookstore, books I may want to buy, etc...)
Contains my contacts for friends, family, and businesses (plumber, dentist, doctor, etc...)
Plays music, or in my case, I listen to podcasts
Reading ebooks.  I use it a lot to read ebooks.  It is always with me, so I can read a book anywhere, such as waiting in a doctor/dentist office, at the motor vehicle registry.  And reading in bed is great as when you fall asleep, it remembers what page you were on vs that book that drops onto your face and wakes you back up while at the same time loosing your page
The Maps app is great for finding where something is located, and plotting how to get there (not as good as having an iPhone with GPS, but still useful).  Also the satellite images make it easier to visualize where you are going.
When connected to WiFi it can be used for Facetime when calling a friend or family member that also has an iOS device.  Seeing a loved one when they are not near can be emotionally satisfying.  You can also make skype calls.
I use 1Password to store all my passwords.  It keeps them secure, I always have them with me, and I do not need to use the same password over and over again, or make them too simple to remember.  1Password has a built-in browser so you it can substitute the correct password for the web site you are visting without actually needing to look it up.
1Password related but not passwords.  Because 1Password encrypts all the data it holds, I can also store sensitive information (such as medical conditions, or other information I do not want made public should my device be lost or stolen), yet always have that information with me should I need it.
I can get the weather.  This week, I've been using an app to get high/low Tide infromation, plus sunrise information.  But getting weather info when you wake up so you can plan your day and if you need to shovel the driveway before going to work.  I find it easier to get the weather from my iOS device than it is to use my laptop or turn on the Weather Channel.
Calclator.  2+2 = 4, but there are times you do need to get something right, and calculators are useful. They have all kinds available, including hexidecimal calculators for programmers.
RSS newsfeed reader (I follow about 20+ feeds, including these discussions groups via RSS feeds).
Travel services.  Most airports have WiFi, and you can get updated travel info for your flights via some speciallized travel apps.
If you are into tracking your car mileage, gas usage, maintenance costs, etc..., there are apps for that.
While you can watch video on your iOS device (downloaded movies, YouTube), you can also stream movies from services such as Netflix.  This can be useful when traveling, or if you are stuck in bed with a cold, or if you have lost control of the "Remote" and do not want to watch "Dancing with the Stars"
TV related, there are apps that will give you the TV schedule for your area, so you can browse the shows on this evening.
List.  You can keep lists, including grocery shopping lists, items to pack for a trip lists, things to do for that bathroom remodel, things you need to get before school starts, Christmas lists, etc....  NOTE:  Ideas for Christmas/Birthday/Anniversary gifts may come anytime during the year, but if you do not write them down, you may be scratching your head when the event arrives.  Putting them in a list can help you later on.
You can get a Level app.  You may laugh, but I have actually used my iOS device to check if something was level.  It was there, and a carpenters level was not.  Not perfect, but it did what I needed at the time.
Finding a good resturante (Yelp, Urbanspoon, etc...).  The iOS device can be very helpful in finding a good nearby place to eat when away from home, or even discovering a new play where you live to get out of that eat at the same place rut.
That is some of the things I use my iOS device for.

  • How do you get the photos/videos off your iPod touch?

Is it through itunes because I can't seem to figure it out. Would appreciate if someone can help me out with this.

I'll solve my own (and others I'm sure) problem. The Appir iTouch iOS 4.1 .pdf manual was of no help as all it says is: "PC: Follow the instructions that came with your photo application." No help there.
When you connect your iPod Touch 4th gen via USB, you should see it in the My Computer list of hard drives as a Digital Camera. You can open it up and see the camera files. Note: This in not the Photos as in the ones you put on your iPod via iTunes. Repeat: You cannot use iTunes to get the pictures & videos you take to your computer via iTunes. Strange.
Also see Apple tech note: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1500 This is how to disable the popup that happens to many when you connect your iPod and Windows whats to know what application to run.
For me, I could not delete the files nor could I Drag & Drop (Copy / Paste) all the files from the iPod to my PC. It would stop transferring data after about 750 files. So I had to find a solution. I searched for programs that supported WIA protocol, which is how files are transferred.
I tried all of the apps at http://www.photo-freeware.net/transfer-tools.php and the only one that worked.
That was Cam2PC. One problem I encountered was that after transferring, it opened a Preview window. Unfortunately it doesn't do Quicktime, so when trying to display a thumbnail view of movies, it crashed. You can configure it not to open the preview window after transferring.
Another program to use is FastStone Image Viewer 4.2. No problems transferring or previewing. It doesn't show all files transferred when it opens it's preview window, notably Quicktime files. It does show screen dumps (.png) files. It is fast, small and so easy to use.
At last but not least, Nikon ViewNX 2 software. It transfers fast, has many options. Just what you would expect from a digital camera company. It previews Quicktime but not screen dumps. Downside: The program takes longer to load than the others.
So I'll be using FastStone Image Viewer 4.2 mostly. Hope the above helps out anyone that had the same problem as I did.

  • How Do I transfer pictures from my ipod touch to my mac?

I just converted from an ipod touch to an iphone.  how do I save my pictures from my ipod touch?

Photos in the Camera Roll can be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera. If you use iPhoto for importing photos from any other digital camera and for photo storage and management on your Mac, you can use iPhoto for this.

  • I have been having some issues with my iPod touch.  I can't transfer songs that I have purchased on my iPod into my iTunes library.  Please help!

I have been having a lot of issues with my iPod touch.  Whatever I purchase on my iPod I can't seem to transfer it to my iTunes library.  If something should happen to my iPod, I wouldn't want to lose all of the music I have purchased.  I can't upgrade it either because a box pops up that says everything will be erased from my iPod... I need help!

Might be an authorization issue in iTunes. Try deauthorizing your computer through the Store menu at the top of iTunes and then authorizing it again. Once that is done try transferring purchases from the iPod Touch.

l I tried using it on  a friends iPod Touch, because I lost mine. I tried regestring but It didn't work, to my dismay I learned that MobileMe was closed to new subscribers. I tried doing it on iCloud, but iCloud is only for iOS 5. So how do I register findmyiPhone with a iPod Touch 3g?
Or did Apple Screw me over on this one? (Sorry, you'd be ****** to if someone stole an iPod you left on a table when you were going to the bathroom.)

Sorry, but Apple didn't screw you. You screwed yourself. See, there's no point putting a lock on your door after the burglars have left.
