Pie chart missing after web deployment

Running on Windows 2000,
via the Oracle Report Builder, I created a report containing a pie chart.
I then deployed this report ( .RDF) file along with the .ODG file onto my Unix
machine (Solaris) where my Report Server resides.
When I bring up the report in my browser (HTML format), I can see the report
but not the pie chart - there is only a shadow where the pie chart should belong.
Any ideas and/or suggestions?

I am having the same problem, been through everything I can think of - works fine on NT, moved to 2000 (carefully checked the locaton of the files and the specification of the paths in the registry). Also checked the path/file info in the report. NOT working, help...
here is the error that displays in the window says that it cannot get the job output.

  • PIE chart in Oracle 9i Reports

    Hi,
I'm using Orcle 9i Report builder to create reports.I'm creating web-source and saving it as JSP.Now I want to add 'PIE' charts into my reports. But, when I'm using the 'Graph' option in 'Insert' menu,it's not creating the 'PIE chart' properly.Pls anybody help me know how can I create 'PIE chart'
    Thanks in advance
    Rajesh K.R

    Hi Rajesh,
Suppose you want to show salaries of a few employees in a Pie Chart (this is just a dummy graph to explain the steps - you can build more meaningful graphs). So you want that each employee's salary should be shown as a percentage of the total. Follow these steps:
    1. Use the query - Select empno, sal from emp
    2. Go to the web layout, place your curson in the rw:dataArea tags, and choose Insert > Graph
    3. In the Graph wizard, choose Pie Chart, select empno in X-axis, and sal in the Y-axis
    4. In the "Layout" step, drag "sal" from groups into the slices field
    5. Fill in the titles, etc, and click finish.
Click "Run to Web" in the builder, and you should see the pie chart in the web page.

  • Drill does not work for pie chart in OBIEE 10.1.3.4

Request has a table and a pie chart. Dimension has 7-level hierarchy. Request has column from top level of dimension.
Table can drill down all 7 levels. Pie chart drills down two levels; third attempt to drill on chart brings back first level in both chart and table.
Anyone else experience this? I can find no bug report, but I have not been very successful at finding known bugs in MetaLink.

Well, by Total - I mean next-to-total. Don't worry about it. I just wanted to make sure your hierarchy had no problems.
Here's what I've done (remember my version is different). I've selected Drill-In-Place in Dashboard properties (unless I do that - it goes to table view after drill). Then I've clicked in an area on pie chart. After this, I wasn't able to drill further down, until I went to another Dashboard page and back (previous drill level was still there) and then drilled again. Rinse and repeat. Browser - IE 7. I'm going to test it in Firefox now.
UPD: Firefox has no problem drilling through 4 levels of pie-chart. I guess the problem is IE's slow and buggy JS implementation.

  • How to show negative value in Pie Chart from Webi?

I have below example data, I want to convert this to a pie chart in Web Intelligence, my problem is after I convert it to a pie chart, the revenue '-30' is shown as '30', looks like the pie chart is not suppor the negative value to show, I want to know if there is any workaround or solution to make the pie chart to show the negative value? Is this behavior is by design? do we have any official document to explain this?
The product I used is BOE XI 3.1 SP3.
    Department    Revenue
    A                      100
    B                       -30
    C                        80

Why are you showing this information as a pie chart? It doesn't make sense to try and display a negative slice in a pie chart. I can't really think of a logical way to try and draw a negative slice in a pie chart. With a pie chart you will need all your information to either all be positive or all negative, otherwise it doesn't work.
What you need is to have a bar chart, with positive and negative values on the y axis.

  • SAP ESS 600 Web Dynpros Missing After Install

    Hi,
We are running EP 7.0 SP11 on a linux platform. We deployed the following
    components in the given order-
    SAP PCUI_GP 600
    IS-HER 600
    SAP ASR 600
    SAP PSS 600
    SAP MSS 600
Each of the above components was at Support Package 08.
In Content Administraton -> Web Dynpros -> sap.com, we expected to find web dynpros
that start with "sap.com/ess~" but found none.
Any ideas what is going on?

    Hello Deb,
Even though note 761266 is primary for ERP 2004, we were able to extract the necessary information to apply to our ERP 2005 system.  After we deployed SAPESS08_0-20000512.SCA, the missing ess web dynpros show up in the Portal.  Thank you very much for your help.
However, I do have one additional question.  We noticed that the base ESS Business Package (BPERP5ESS08_0-10003288.sca) downloaded from SDN is only about 3MB and the SAP ESS 600 patch (SAPESS08_0-20000512.SCA) is about 270MB.  Are these two different components of the "ESS"?  This is very different from MSS.
    Thanks again for your time,

  • SBOP 4.0 Web Intelligence (Question regarding Pie Charts)

    Hi Everyone,
I am having a strange issue with Pie Charts in Webi 4.0 version.
I have a webi report migrated from 3.1 version to 4.0 and I see that the Webi report in 3.1 version shows an empty Pie chart when the metrics for that chart are zero's where as the same Webi report in 4.0 does not show any thing.
My requirement is to show atleast a plane empty pie chart when the metrics for that chart are zeros. I could not see any option in Webi 4.0 to help me achieve that, also I don't see any option in 3.1 version that is allowing it to show an empty pie chart but still it is showing empty pie chart. So I am not sure if this a bug in Webi 4.0 or if I am missing any setting.
Please let me know if anyone had this issue and resolved it. Any comments will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    SRV

On XI 3.x, I believe the default appearance settings are governed by an XML file (defaultConfig) and can be changed, if you know what you're doing.
In my installation, the path is:
    (INSTALLDIR)...\Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\AnalyticalReporting\webiApplet\AppletConfig\defaultConfig.xml
    Example:
Can't comment on 4.x though, it may well have changed completely....IIRC it's all CSS based now isn't it?

  • How do I update the colors on a 2d pie chart after adding 3 new variables

I have added 3 additional items to a 2d pie chart.  Unfortunately, when the data is displayed the recently added items are displayed with the SAME colors as the first 3 items in the chart.  I need all variables to display in distinctly DIFFERENT colors.

    Hi tarheel,
You can click on the color you want to change and go to the style tab:
You can do it there. I have also changed colors after clicking the data tab from within edit data references.

  • CR 8.0 pie chart/graph doesn't appear in web browser

    Post Author: kevind
    CA Forum: Charts and Graphs
    Hi,
I am using a CR 8.0 report (containing data in tabular format and Pie/Bar graph) with Web component Server.
In design mode (by entering the parameters) when i view my report through the CR IDE then i can view my report perfectly with the pie and bar graphs.
However, once i call the same report through the web component server, by my JSP page, the report appears with the data but the page containing the piechart/Bar graph doesn't appear. (i am using the ActiveXViewer)
When i remove the chart/graph, then all the pages are displayed in my browser (IE) properly, but if i add back the pie chart then the page on which this should appear -  doesnt display.
Has anyone faced a similar issue? In design it displays with data but once called through webcomponent server it fails?
    Thanks,

  • Display the value as percentage in pie-chart in WEBI

    Hi Experts,
I have two measures  No. of Sales Transactions and Customer Visit. And I created a measure named CustomerConversionRate.
ie, CustomerConversionRate = ([No. of Sales Transactions]/[Customer Visit])*100.
So my requirement is that CustomerConversionRate is  to be display  into a pie chart in WEBI . CustomerConversionRate always a percentage.I
hereby attached a sample pie-chart based on my requirement.
    Eg:CustomerConversionRate=79.27 and Remaining = 20.73
I want to display  CustomerConversionRate=79.27  and Remaining = 20.73 into a pie chart in WEBI

    Hi ,
Add 1 more Query with dimension that will have values
    Completed      Or      X
    Remaining      Or      Y
Duplicate your Query And Keep only 1 Dimension [Extra_Dim]( Remember this Dim Name you have to use it in different way so it would be better if use any Dimension which is not there in First Query )
Go To--> View Script --> Custom SQL
write below code in Query Script Editor
    SELECT
      'Completed' As "CATEGORY"
    FROM
      "YOUR_TABLE"  Table__1
    Union
    SELECT
      'Remaining' As "CATEGORY"
    FROM
      "YOUR_TABLE"  Table__2
    And Save this Query .
Now Rename this Query as Pie Dimension .
Now You can Use [Extra_Dim] As [Achievment_Status]
Create Measure Variable [Achievment_Val] as mention above .
    And use it

  • Top 10 Pie Chart in Webi 3.1 with "Others"

    Hi,
I need to implement a Pie Chart in Web Intelligence 3.1., which must show the sales values only for the Top 10 countries with the highest number of sales.
However there is an extra requirement: I must include the option "Others" including the other countries (from 11th to the last).
I've been searching but I have not found any solution. Does anyone know the way to achieve this requirement? Using a Pie Chart is mandatory.
    Thank you in advance!!

  • Missing labels on pie charts

    Hi All,
We are making use of pie charts and noticed that sometimes the labels are not being displayed in the charts for certain fields. Upon hovering over the field, the relevant % and data series value are displayed correctly, so there are definitely no issues with data here. Was wondering if anybody has encountered this.. Any thoughts on why this could be happening?
    Thanks,
    Prachi

    Hi Prachi,
I think this is related to the size of the graph... If you make it a little bit bigger, you'll probably see the missing labels (at least that's what happened to me).
    Cheers,
    Cris

  • Pie Chart Callouts Remain After Updating DataProvider

I have a Pie Chart with an Array Collection as the
dataProvider. When I update the dataProvider, however, the Pie
Chart callouts are not always displayed correctly. I basically have
a form where a user can enter percentages of catregories, and the
percentages are displayed in a pie chart right next to the form.
When I update a value from zero to some positive number, the
category is displayed in the pie chart correctly. But, when I
update that value back to zero, the callout labels get funkified.
For instance, sometimes one label is displayed twice, or if there
is only one category filling the pie chart (100%), the previous
callout labels are still displayed. I debugged and found that the
underlying ArrayCollection values are correct, but it seems the
series is not reflecting the values in the Collection. Any ideas
    how I can fix this?
    Thanks.

Sure! Here you go. Simply edit any of the "value" values to
be zero, and you will see what I'm talking about. Do it multiple
times and it gets worse and worse. I'm using SDK 3.2.
I'm starting to think this is a bug.

  • Pie - Chart Web Part - Label Alignment empty

    Hello all,
I create lots of Dashboards to display KPIs for my company and I always struggle with the pie chart labels as the always end up overlapping unless I rotate them but that just looks naff.
My frustration and question is that the "Label Alignment" option is empty and therefore does not allow me to select "Open" which is the feature I seek.
Does anyone have an idea why this might be and if there is a work around?
    Thank you in advance
    Jessica

You would potentially run into this with lookup fields as well, I believe. I would make a column that is single line of text for the purpose of the chart. That would make sure the NUM;# is removed.

You can not see it in the canvas because it is checked as hidden in the object browser. If you want to display this in design time, uncheck the hide option.
