Piece of led stuck in my ipods headphone jack help!!!

ATleast i think thats what it is. Its pushed in there pretty far and i dont live near to an apple store. Is there any way to get it out without getting help from apple? Its lead from a pencil so i can stick holes in it with a safety pin so i dont know if it would break if i found some tiny pliers, which i dont have. And can anyone tell me uf it would cost much to get it fixed at an apple store if i dont figure out how to get it out? My brither stuck the lead in and he wont pay for it so i wanna know if its worth it to get it put in the end. Im 15 and out of money if the last sentence sounded weird to you... Anyway thanks if u can help!

  • Something stuck in the ipod headphones jack

Ok so i recently was using my ipod and the very end of the headphone metal piece came off in my ipod, what do i do!!??

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Are you anywhere near an Apple Store or Apple authorized repair facility? If so, you might try taking your computer in and see if a trained technician can get the postit it note out without disassembling the iBook. It is very easy to cause damage by trying to fish it out yourself.
If the post it cannot be fished out by a skilled technician, then probably the iBook would have to be disassembled, which you can either do yourself or have done.
    Good luck!

  • IPod headphone-jack no longer making connection

The headphone-jack connection is worn-out. I've tried using 3 different headphones with the same male specifications and music was still audible from the iPod and not through any of the headphones. Thus, I am sure that the iPod headphone-jack is malfunctioning. It was purchased about a year ago, but it only has a one year warranty and I no longer have the receipt.
Any suggestions? It would be much appreciated.

The earphones must be pushed very hard into the iPod. So hard, that the white part of the plug must touch the iPod in order for the external speakers to turn off. You will hear a click.
If you do a forum search, you will find this same solution. If it does not work, you will need to take your iPod to an apple store or call the Apple iPod tech support if still under warranty or you have Apple Care.  You may have a hardware problem.

  • My ipod headphone jack is only allowing sound in one headphone. i tried multiple headphones to make sure it wasn't the headphone but the jack itself. i have a ipod video 5th generation.

Had you brought the same pair of headphones to the Apple Store with you and they worked there?  If you hadn't, the wire or plug on those headphones may have failed.  Try a different pair if you can and see if those work.
    Hope this helps

  • IPod headphone jack faulty

Hi! First time on here, just been having problems with my iPod headphone jack.
The trouble is, when I plug headphones in, it misses half the sound as if it's only playing one ear through both, and sometimes it misses all the words and it just sounds plain weird. If I put some headphones in half way it works, but the slightest movement and then it cuts off entirely, and other times I push the earphone right in, and twist it a bit but the same problem occurs.
First up... any ideas for how I could resolve this issue myself? Is it a good idea to try and have it repaired through some sort of third party type fixey places?
If not, which I presume will be the case, is it worth me paying for a single incident of support thing to speak to someone? Does that cover any repair or just the phone call?

    - The telephone support price is for the call only. It does not include repair/replacement.
    - Does the heaphones pwork OK in other devices?
    - Do other headphones work in your iPod?i
    - If it is an iPod problem and your iPod is withn warranty I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
    - Headphones jacks do go bad.  Apple will aoly excahnge yur iPod for a refurbished one for this price:

  • Ipod + Headphone jack = problem

Hello fellow Ipod users. I needed to know what to do in my situation. For it would seem my 5th Gen ipod's headphone jack gives me the lack of music in my left headphone. I feel the jack itself is a bit out of place, and I'm not sure what to do. Do you believe I could get it fixed through Apples warranty program? Or will they turn me down through the warranties policy? What ever that may be.

Have you tried a different set of headphones? If it is there even with a different set then I would suspect the iPod. If it is still under warranty it should be covered. Only apple can tell you for sure.

  • How can I get my iPod headphone jack fixed?

I am having issues where I can only hear out of one side of the headphones.  I have tried several different headphones and know the problems is not with them it has to be something with the iPod part where the headphones get plugged in.   Any help is appreciated.

    HI debooz09
you should give to a apple store and tell them here's the apple price http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/prices/ OR just search it on google or on youtube to get more ideas to fix the headphone jack.

  • Tip of headphone plug stuck in my iMac headphone jack...PLEASE HELP

Stupid of me...I was there listening to music on my imac then decided to get a drink of water, forgetting the headphones was on my ears I got up...Then all of a sudden i heard some kind of snap then I saw the tip of my headphone plug was stuck in my headphone jack. I can still hear the music from my internal speakers but cant use any headphones or external speakers PLEASE HELP IN GETTING THIS OUT OF THE HEADPHONE JACK as soon as possible...
    Thanks

You have confused me, because you are posting in the iMac G5 PPC area, and you have an intel. I think that opening the case is quite difficult, you have to take the front of the bezel off, and the screen is taped down and is not easy to remove without damaging it. You probably will have to pack it up and send it to the nearest Apple repair center to be fixed.
    Sorry,

  • Ok so my iPod headphone jack has been steretch out

My iPod touch 3rd gen the headphone port has been expanded so that it will not play music throw both sides of the headphones. What can I do to make the head phone port smaller to make it work right or do I need to buy a new iPod?

If your halfway comfortable working on something like this go here, http://www.ifixit.com/Products/iPod-5th-Gen/95/Page-2 . Find the model you have and if they have any you can buy one and on the iFixIt site there are guides for doing the work yourself.
If your not comfortable doing it you could send it somewhere such as

and last but not least Apple repair

Take your pick. An example of the repair cost for the headphone jack would be 89 dollars at the first link I gave you. Shop around and you may find a better price.

  • Ipod headphone jack

Are there any other people that have had multiple problems with the iPod's headphone jack? I've had mine replaced once, but I'm going to try and get it replaced tomorrow. Does Apple flaw its products so that only Apple products work best?

    Yes. No.

  • Ipod headphone jack ruining my headphones?

i dont know whats wrong with my ipod, its been happening for a while. ive gone through two pairs of expensive over ear head phones, at least 5 auxillary cables, and i barely went through a pair of skullcandys.
i think all of them were ruined by my ipod jeadphone jack, the possibility that all the cables were defective is unlikely, and impossible because i used most of them on mycomputer before i used them on my ipod and they worked fine.
this is realllyy starting to **** me off...
is there any thing i can do? can i send my ipod in to get fixed for malfunctioning? .

    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Bring the ruined headphones in addition to the iPod

  • Headphone Jack Help

Just in the last couple of days my headphones started to cut out on the right side. I thought the problem was the headphones, after several switches, I found out that is not so. When I play with the plug on the headphones the right channel comes in and out. I have seen similar questions posted on line with the same problem, but was unable to find any useful answer. Help would be greatly appreciated... is there something I can do, or does it have to be taken somewhere or shipped out? If so, who would I contact to get the ball rolling here. I need my iPod, flat out. Thanks in advance!!

I am having the exact same issue. If I plug in my original Ipod headphones are anything comparable the Right Side began to cut out, but is gone completely. Now to hear anything I must you High (studio) Quality headphones to hear properly. This is disconcerning. Ipod is less than 1.5 old. If I find a solution I will post here. Anyone else please help.

  • Headphone Jack Help (USB 2

My USB 2.0 Zen which has served me faithfully for two years of rough and tumble service and now I think it may have finally bit it. I listen to it while trying to sleep and woke one night to find it playing only through one (right) ear. I tried pushing the headphones back in as sometimes the come partially out. However this didnt help. I pushed harder and the left would work only while extreme pressure was applied to the jack. Is it trashed guys? Can it be fixed and how much? Is it time to move up to a micro? Thanx.

Same happened to me on my xtra. I luckly was able to get it fixed for free, but creative relly should have designed the headphone jack a little beefier to prevent this kind of stuff from happening.

  • Silica gel stuck in Macbook pro headphone jack

The silica gel packet in my laptop bag exploded (it's a new bag, and I had no idea the packet was in there) and now I've got a bead jammed in headphone ports.
Any suggestions will be appreciated .

    Hurray issue got solved
Initially I took my MacBook pro to some Apple store but it could not help ,the Apple executive there said that they tried to remove the silica gel but failed to do so . Instead the executive insisted me to replace entire logic board and it will cost around 35,000 rs INR(550 $)  I was totally I mean *** .
Then latter I took it  to another Apple authorized service center and those guys managed to take the silica gel out
Thanks all for your quick response.
