  • Error while installing PIM Sync

    Hi,
While installing PIM Sync an error is given
"Installation found another product installed which uses the same configuration file settings. Installation was cancelled because they cannot function on the same computer. Please uninstall the other software first."
But there is no software installed related to CRM.
    Please help.
    Thanks
    Arpita.

    Hi Arpita,
Sometimes it happens all the files may not be removed ,even if you have removed it.
Please follow the below steps to remove it
Under certain conditions, an uninstall process does not completely remove all references to the PIM Sync client on a users system.
When this occurs an new installation sometimes produces an error message that says something like "unable to complete the install since there is already a previous version installed, remove the previous version and attempt the install again".
If this error appears you can try the manual removal of a registry entry that refers to the previous install of the PIM Sync client. Follow these steps to remove the necessary registry entry on the machine:
    1. Click Start>Run and enter "regedit" to open the MS Windows Registry editor
    2. Locate the following registry entry
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{8DB1D80B-580E-48EE-A259-226108CF6308}

  • CRM on demand/Pim sync want to sync appointment

    Hello Experts
When i use Pim Sync to synchronize my appointments with CRM on demand Pim sync wants to add appointments that
arent deposited in my CRM System.
    For example certain public holidays.
Has this acurred to anybody except me?
Is there a way to solve this issue?
    Kind regards

    Shawn,
Why not try to turn off log file logging? I have this to turn it on I assume there is a way to turn it off.
Oracle Customer Care will require the following information when investigating issues with PIM Sync.
    1.     The version of PIM Sync. You can find this in the readme.txt file in the installed program file (by default this is C:\Program Files\Oracle Siebel CRM On Demand\Oracle Siebel PIM Sync On Demand)
    2.     Log files. To switch on logging please follow this procedure:
    -     find the iloptcfg.cfg file. By default this configuration file is placed in C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\Oracle Siebel PIM Sync On Demand
    -     make a copy of this file that you can use to restore your original configuration
    -     edit iloptcfg.cfg using Notepad
    -     find the section with the heading [ilwin]
    -     change the MultiJobTraceLog value to 200 (the default is 1). This setting will generate the PTTrace.log file
    -     change the TifLog value to 100 (the default is 0). If this parameter does not exist, please add it (note that the TifLog label is case sensitive, so enter TifLog=100). This setting will generate the tif.log file
    -     Save the iloptcfg.cfg file
    -     rename or copy any existing PTTrace.log and tif.log files so that they are not lost
    -     rerun the PIM Sync and reproduce the error
    3.     Take copies of the PTTrace.log and tif.log files. There should also be a file called IS4Web.log. By default these log files are all placed in the folder C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\Oracle Siebel PIM Sync On Demand

  • Outbound only PIM Sync is failing on Appointments

Our users are configured for One way sync only (outbound from siebel, and a few of our users are experiencing errors when trying to sync their appointments. The get unable to read application data errors. If they uncheck appointments in the PIM sync configuration, the sync completes for Contacts and To-Do's.
We tried uninstalling/reinstalling PIM sync, but to no avail.
1 Of the reps also mentioned having a 3rd party sync tool installed to sync from their outrlook to their Treo using Microsoft active sync. I didn't know if this was a factor, but had the rep uninstall that as well and still gets error.
Any suggestions??? The users in question happen to be the "power users" of the CRM application, and this is causing a hinderance to their performance.

I would recommend contacting On Demand customer care in reference to this issue.

  • Oracle PIM Sync installation issues

We have experienced the PIM Sync installation issue where the client couldn't detect Outlook. We have several work stations downloaded the file and only one station has installed it successfully. We even tried to use the file that worked on that station to install into the ones that didn't work. However, we got no luck. Some of us had "Cannot Connect to Oultook" and some of us had error code - 0x083200006. Does someone have the same issue? We submitted a SR to Oracle Customer Care but haven't heard anything from them yet. We are hoping this got resloved as soon as possible. thanks!

  • Audio midi sync error in logic and other apps

    hey everybody,
after a system update, all my audio apps freakout when they have to playback midi channels. audio tracks work perfectly in all apps i use but using midi just clips the cpu meter all the way. in live for example which i use 100% midi, droputs and digital distortion will occur alsmost as soon as i press play. in logic it will take a few more seconds until the audio sync error appears asking me to check external devices. the thing is, although i usually output to my mbox 2, i have disconnected everything i use and have been trying it with the built in outputs and it's still happening.
please note all of this was not happening before the update and the exact same projects played back fine before. i'm positive it's something to do with midi. for example ableton live has been creating text files to its preferences folder titled midijitter etc. etc.
    thanks for any bits help!
    cheers

    Hi,
I have the same problem. The problem happened after a system update (few days ago). I don't know which update caused this.(I updated several applications )
I re-installed Mac OS. I updated everything that the system updater suggested. And finally I tested with my applications. The problem still continues:
Sibelius, Pro Tools (and other applications using midi) can't play midi files correctly.
I also tested Quicktime; It can't play midi files correctly.
    Thanks

From your statements above, it sounds like you never tried to burn a CD for at least the first year that you owned the laptop, as it had a one year warranty on it. While you might have used it frequently to install software,  play DVDs, Blu-Ray disks, etc, that's unclear from your statements. Nonetheless, it might just be dirty-dusty. So, before deleting-uninstalling any software, and given they're cheap, try a CD-DVD Cleaner Disk first and see if that resolves your problems.
Let us know what happens. Good luck.

  • IPod Touch / iTunes sync error -50 on iMac, due to new upgrade for iPhoto

I have an iPod Touch, software version 3.0.
I have an iMac, on Mac OS X 10.5.8.
I am on iTunes version 8.2.1.
    I am on iPhoto 09 version 8.1 (415).
Ever since Apple released it's latest iPhoto upgrade about 2 weeks ago, I have not been able to sync my iPod Touch with iTunes, and instead getting a 'sync error -50'.
Apple's phone tech support did not know what the problem was and recommended me to Restore my iPod, as well as re-install iTunes. This did not help.
After much aggravation, I found a discussion group addressing the fact that it might have to do with the latest version of iPhoto. So, in iTunes I unchecked the sync iPhoto option, and now the rest of the sync's worked (iCal, Address book, music, movies, etc).
Still, I am looking for a solution, as I do not find not syncing my photos a long term solution. Can I do this on my own, or does a solution have to come in the form of a fix from Apple?
I want my photos back on the iPod, and am very thankful for any tips/help (...hello, anyone from Apple reading this?).

I don't think any of the work-arounds are really valid or deal with the problem. My Mac Pro desktop computer is 2 years old, so the problem obviously has nothing to do with a computer being new. I also don't see how it can have anything to do with iPhoto. If I get this error and "QUIT" iTunes and reboot iTunes, the iPod syncs perfectly, even though no changes were made.
I actually bought a new iPod this week because I thought my old iPod was failing (due to these repeated errors). Imagine my horror when the brand new iPod had the same problem.
Hopefully someone can figure out what going on.

First I would just try deleting the SCInfo folder, restart your computer, open itunes and see if you are still getting the error, at that point if you are it is a permissions error with the computer specificaly and not in itunes.

  • Sync errors with Windows 8 phones.

Has anyone been having issues with syncing Windows 8 devices? We have about 50 HTC 8X phones and around 10% of them are having sporadic sync errors. We also have some of the Nokia WP8 devices that exhibit the same issues. While the WP8 device is problematic, we can have an Android or iOS device working next to it just fine. The error on the device is 85002012. Would be interested to see if this is consistent among users of GMS2, or is there something wrong with us. I did open an SR with support and I can report back any findings from there.

We can't rule it out and the Window8 systems have demonstrated
themselves to be particularly picky about certs. It could well be that
something else happened to change in the same time you upgraded that is
confusing the issue (always frustrating when that happens). Check your
certs to be sure is how we rule them out and the Heartbleed issue has
brought lots of such tools out. One I've been using that may help you
    is

Are you actually using the same cert you were running before? Just in
case the upgrade replaced your cert.

  • How can I stop syncing error message: "Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close"

On my Mac I am endlessly receiving this message: "Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close" it relates to the sync which between Calendars (iCal and Entourage) .
The error messages were coming up every 5 SECONDS and were impossible to deal with. They stated there was a 'Blame Module' which wasEntourageCore
I have been unable to find any idea how to resolve this.
Please can anyone describe what they have done to sort this?
I am using MS Office 2008.
Turning off the sync between the two calendars was not the answer, as the messages continued. So I have temporarily disabled the sync between iCal/Entourage and my iPad.  This has prevented the error message, but obviously means I must enter diary dates manually on iPad which is the whole point of the sync!
I haven't found a way to sync between iCal and iPad - this would be a possible work-round. But I'd be so grateful to know how to resolve the sync error.

We have the following environment -
Exchange 2010 SP2, no public folder DB; Outlook 2010 sp1 cached mode.
under very specific circumstances, but unfortunately a common circumstance, we're getting sync errors -

This occurs if Naomi shares her Calendar with me, without granting me read "Full Details", if she changes the permissions and allows me to read Full Details, the sync error goes away.
It's repeatable, i have tested it with a few users sharing calendars with each other, and changing permissions.
The peculiar thing is that Naomi is in My Team, so her calendar is listed under Team Calendar,  I get no sync errors, it's only when I add Naomi's Calendar as a Shared Calendar and don't have read Full Access permission that the sync errors appear.
User's don't necessarily want to give Full Access to their Calendars, so that's not really a viable work around for us, this smells very much like a bug with outlook, is anyone else seeing this?

Need solution for the following sync error: "iTunes could not sync calendars to the iPad "iPad name" because an error occurred while sending data from the iPad"

  • I can't add songs to my ipod nano 5th gen. Get a sync error (13019)

Today I connected my 5th gen. nano to my windows computer to add some songs to my library. When I connected it I got a pop up saying windows had added my ipod drive to the computer. I dont know why it did this because it was already added; I've had my nano for over a year and have been using it on my computer for too. I went to add songs, and they worked. When I subsequently went to change something in a playlist, I got an error saying my ipod couldn't be synced (13019). I have never had my ipod synced so i dont know why it would say this. Now, when I try to add songs to my ipod, it doesn't work, and I get the same sync error message. I don't know what to do.

Do you have any better luck with that if you update to iTunes 10.6.1.7?
From the notes for the release:
iTunes 10.6.1 provides a number of improvements, including:
    • Fixes several issues that may cause iTunes to unexpectedly quit while playing videos, changing artwork size in Grid view and syncing photos to devices.
    • Addresses an issue where some iTunes interface elements are incorrectly described by VoiceOver and WindowEyes.
    • Fixes a problem where iTunes may become unresponsive while syncing iPod nano or iPod shuffle.
    • Resolves an ordering problem while browsing TV episodes in your iTunes library on Apple TV.

  • Itunes dll errors, APPLE SYNC error on bootup, sync error.....solution!

One brilliant guy came up with this solution in this forum and has worked on 5 straight PC's. The thing is, I found another thread that helped also. In addition to this, if you are getting the Apple Sync Error, or still have problems after doing this procedure, go into uninstall programs and remove the MobileMe application. It is appearing to be a major contributor to the errors with Apple Sync! Thank you for your help guys!!!!!!
Okay, we're going to uninstall both iTunes and Apple Application Suppport this time. When we reinstall iTunes, that should reinstall Apple Application Support as well. We'll take a few additional explicit precautions along the way too. Best to print these instructions out, because at one stage of proceedings you won't be able to use a web browser.
    Preliminaries
Download and save a fresh 64-bit iTunes installer to your hard drive. (Don't run the install on line and don't start the iTunes install just yet.)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL925
Now, quit QuickTime (if you have that open) and Safari 4.0.4 (if you have that installed and open). Both applications use Apple Application Support, and they will interfere with the uninstall if you have them open.
    Uninstall phase
Head into your "Uninstall a Program" control panel. Uninstall iTunes. Uninstall Apple Application Support.
(From this point on until we reinstall Apple Application Support, neither QuickTime nor Safari 4.0.4 will be able to run.)
Next we'll remove any leftover program files and folders.
    (1) Open "Local Disk (C:)" or whichever drive your program files are stored on.
    (2) Open the "Program Files (x86)" folder.
    (3) Right-click on the iTunes folder (if it still exists) and select "Delete".
    (4) Staying in Program files (x86), find and open the "Common files" folder.
    (5) Open the "Apple" folder.
    (6) Right-click on the Apple Application Support folder (if it still exists) and select "Delete".
Now empty your Recycle Bin and restart the PC.
    Reinstall Phase
After the PC restarts, do not open any other applications. Disconnect from your network and/or the internet. Switch off all your security software (firewall, antivirus and antispyware).
Now start the install by doubleclicking the iTunes64Setup.exe file you downloaded earlier.
Reenable all security software prior to reconnecting to your network and/or the internet.

Thanks to all on this thread..  same problem, same solution.
This time it was on Win 7, the setup worked fine for awhile, and then SWMBO "did something" and it stopped working.  Much debug later, found the log message and realized that there was a streaming problem, but could not figure out if it was the router, my wireless network (I'm using it tied to my existing wireless network) or what.  New hardware, fully up to date firmware..  Argh!
I finally found this post, found the offending file ( ..\Users\xxxxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\Preferences\com.apple.iTunes.plist ) and simply moved it to another folder.  Restart iTunes, and all is copacetic.
Clearly this is a software issue in iTunes, and is happening accross HW and SW platforms for better than 2 years now..
I love the device, but the only reason I have it is to drive the stereo.  They should fix this one...
