Pin as App Tab does not stick permanently

Pin as App Tab works for a day or two then disappears and I have to redo it. My favourite is GMail but it doesn't stick for long.

The file sessionstore.js is in the Firefox Profile Folder and if that file is deleted or gets corrupted then you lose the App Tabs.

How do I make an app-tab if "pin as app tab" does not appear when i contol-click an existing tab?

When I control-click my existing tabs to create an app tab nothing giving me the option to create an app tab appears. It only says "reload tabs," "new tab," "new bookmark," and other general menu options. I want to know how to create an app tab if this is happening or if there is something I am not doing that I should be in order for it to work.

You can't make App Tabs in Firefox 3.6.x versions.<br />
You need to update to the latest Firefox 5.0.1 version to get App tabs.

I opened Google Chat in a tab and pinned it as an App Tab, but the App Tab does not "glow" when new message arrives in Google Chat.

I am running Firefox 4.0.
I opened this page for Google Talk (http://talkgadget.google.com/talkgadget/client), signed in, and initiated a chat with one of my contacts.
Then, I pinned the tab (containing the above chat page) as an App Tab.
According to the documentation for Firefox 4, when the contents of an App Tab's page is changed, the corresponding tab is highlighted.
However, when a new chat message arrives in the Google Talk page (that corresponds to the pinned App Tab), the tab is not highlighted.
App Tab highlighting works for Gmail, and other web pages (i.e., when other web pages are pinned as App Tabs the corresponding tab is highlighted when the contents of the page changes), but App Tab highlighting does not work for the Google Talk page. Is this a bug in Firefox 4?

@cor-el: I think you are correct ... App Tabs do not glow when the content of the page changes (which would result in the tab "glowing" when a new Google Talk message arrived) ... but App Tabs only glow when the tab title changes.
I thought about writing a java script (to be used with greasemonkey) to change the tab title when a new message arrives in the Google Talk page .... but the Google Talk page looks like it's Adobe Flash.
I know that there is a "beep" when a chat message arrives, but I wanted some kind of visual notification (like the glowing App Tab) when a message arrives (because my computer is playing music and I don't hear the "beep" when a message arrives).
Any suggestions for getting a visual notification when new Google Talk chat message arrives?

The Apps tab does not load.

Just signed up for creative could. I just get a spinning dial but no applications to download. All of the other tabs (home, assets, community) load the information.
Any help would be great.

I am having the same issue. I just purchased this membership and the desktop App screen has done nothing but display a spinning wheel for over an hour. Tried restarting my computer - which required me to force quit CC - and still get nothing but the wheel.

HT201269 The iPhone "Apps" Tab will not open in iTunes v11.1

I purchased the iPhone 5S yesterday and am running iOS 7.0.1. I restored my 5S from yesterday's backup of my 4S which was running iOS 6.1.2. The 5S restored fine but now when I open iTunes, click on the iPhone tab, I can open all the tabs with the exception of the "Apps " tab. Each time I click the Apps tab I get a popup that says an error occurred and iTunes needs to shut down (no error code to check). Clicking on the Music, Video, tabs, etc. all open with no issues; just the Apps tab does not function.
Is this a bug with iTunes v 11.1, and issue with iOS 7.0.1 or could it an app or two on my 5S affecting the Apps tab.
I have 135 apps installed and really do not want to install them one at a time.
Any help/suggestions are appreciated.

You can't have Newsstand hidden in a folder. If you do, move it to the homescreen then you will be able to access the Apps tab in iTunes 11.1. You can always move it to the folder afterwards.

Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Browsing History"

My pinned App Tabs do not reappear after I close and then reopen Firefox 4. Why is this happening? What can I do about it?

Using Firefox 4:
I right-click on a tab to "pin as app tab."
The new app tab appears as expected.
But after I close and then reopen Firefox 4, my app tab(s) no longer appear. They go away. Repeated cycles of the above do not keep the app tabs present .

I have been having this problem on occasion for a while. (Most recently in firefox 7) I just discovered that I had a phantom firefox.exe process running for some reason. This has the same effect as closing your tabbed window before a non tabbed window. I killed the process and my app tabs magically work again.

Very much like FF4 and especially App Tabs. Today when I relaunched FF (1) App Tabs have disappeared (I have been reading how to keep them when I reopen FF) and (2) I no longer have a "Pin as App Tab" command when I right click on a web site I want to pin. Anyone got any clues? I am wondering if there is a conflict with Cooliris?

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

I'm trying to add my Christmas playlist to my iphone but can't find where I check which playlists to synch. I don't like the new iTunes...
I have the left hand summary tab but I no longer get access to the icons across the top where I used to choose what synchs and what doesn't - Apps, music, etc. How do I get that back?

Why do I get this error message "This volume does not support permanent version storage."

I get this error message when I save a "pages 09" document edited on my macbook pro but saved to my mac mini (over a wifi network). All my Macs are running 10.9.3. My Mac mini is using time machine to back up to a separate hard drive (USB 3 connection). I Tried using Page 5.2 but it is a disaster over my network, slow, crashes, creates random folders....

If in doubt Google the error text with any personal info removed.
Work on it locally & copy it to the network daily if you need versions, otherwise use a real 'version control system' that you have some actual control over like GIT. It is designed for code projects, but you can cram anything in if you really want.

I suspect Apples file format will make it miserable with Pages, but there are some great Mac GIT apps.
Using Time Machine would be probably be suffice (run it on the Mac you use as the server & then restore versions on that Mac).

Apps panel does not appear, "Install Adobe Apps" not working

I would like to download Photoshop CC (first the trial version) but after downloading Creatice Cloud Desktop, the Apps panel does not appear at all. If I click on the "install adobe apps" tab nothing happens. I have tried everything that was written on the forum but nothing seems to work . I have also re-installed the programs several times.@

Ciao guys, in the end I tried everything in this post but nothing worked.
I managed to solve the problem through this: creative cloud is blank window why? renaming that opm.db file but in the "Program Files (x86)" folder (I prevously used the "program files" one.

The Categories tab on my iPad 2 will not pull up the categories and the Genius tabe does not pull up anything at all. Any thoughts on what to do?

App tabs are not saving nor highlighting when I get updates

When I restart Firefox, my app tabs sometimes saves, and sometimes they do not. Also I open a new window in a current session, my app tabs do not save between windows. I would expect them to be on every window I opened; otherwise, they'd really be no different from normal tabs.
Also, Firefox says that when an app tab updates, it will highlight. However, my hotmail app tab and my facebook app tab will not highlight no matter how many emails or facebook notifications I receive.

Is there a way to have the app tab save the page you pinned. For example, have it save my facebook wall and have it open my facebook wall when I restart firefox instead of having it load a friend's profile page?

The app tabs feature is still in a relatively early stage of development. The option to remember app tabs independently of sessions has not yet been implemented, but it will be part of the release version of Firefox 4.
