PIN Incorrect

Whenever I turn on 3G, I get a message that says "PIN Incorrect" and it has me type in a PIN, but I don't even know what this PIN is....Anyone know what this message is about/why I'm getting it?

If you entered the PIN correctly and still will not unlock, the only option is to full erase the TP.
Here is the step to full erase:
Press and hold the power button + volume down + Center and continue holding for 5 seconds after the Full Erase screen appears.

  • I need to reboot phone after PIN entered incorrectly. I do not have my SIM card; travelling overseas.

I am travelling in Amsterdam from Australia without my SIM card. Daughter enetred PIN incorrectly and now phone is locked. How can I get it rebooted and working again?

Normally you would do these things if you lose your passcode
    LOST PASSCODE
You may be able to reset the passcode by restoring the device.
Connect the device to the computer with which you normally sync and open iTunes.
Note: If iTunes prompts you to enter the passcode, try another computer that you have synced with. Otherwise, go to "If you have never synced your device with iTunes", below.
Right-click the device in the left column and select Back up.
When the backup is complete, select Restore.
When finished, restore from your most recent backup.
    Otherwise read this
If that doesn’t work  you will need to perform a factory restore to remove it. Or read:

    Hi!
So I was trying to call 611, and then realized that I have to add money to my account. I try to call 611, and it gives me the "Verizon National Payment center." I choose Option 2 to add a credit card. It asks me for the PIN. I enter my pin, the last 4 digits of my phone number, and lastly, 0000. Surprisingly, 0000 worked! So now I am trying to register with this pin, but I entered the pin incorrectly too many times. I am locked out of the account. Please help!

  • Restore Blackberry curve contact after phone blocked due to wrong pin

Help!  I have a very upset daughter whose 'friend' tried to guess her PIN incorrectly many times so the phone blocked. Her suppllier, Tesco, unblocked the phone for use.  Unfortunately all her contacts and BBMs are missing.  Tesco cannot retrieve them and I cannot copy them from Sim. Is the Blackberry still blocked due to the pin errors, how can I get her contacts back? A desperate mother.

    I found out the PIN.
I have installed the latest OS, followed all the instructions here with AppLoader and Loader and running updates from Desktop Software and installing the updates from the carrier...
Still nothing.  I have a white screen.  If I turn it off, it lights up with a white screen, turn it on it lights up with a white screen.  I have charged it, and it's sat there charging with a white screen.
When I turn it off it flashes the red LED in the corner, if I turn it on, it flashes green (well i'm assuming it's off and on, I don't really know...)
    Any help at all?

  • How do I use my PUK code on my Xperia Z3?

I bought my Xperia Z3 from the network's store directly under pay as you go (it was cheaper than buying it unlocked from Amazon and Sony directly). However, I want to use a different network providers SIM.
Luckily the network I bought the device from has provided me with a PUK code, free of charge. I don't however know how to use it.
    Can someone explain?

The PUK code needs to be inserted if you block the SIM.That can occur if you insert the PIN incorrectly 3 times.

  • IPhone won't sync after upgrading to Leopard

My iPhone won't sync, or even show up in iTunes, after upgrading to Leopard. I've tried restarting my Macbook Pro, trying different USB slots, closing and reopening iTunes, everything. Has anyone else had this problem??
    I've tried everything apple suggests:
    1. The iPhone battery might need to be recharged. For information about charging iPhone, see "Charging the Battery" in the iPhone User's Guide.
    2. If that doesn't work, disconnect other USB devices from your computer and connect iPhone to a different USB 2.0 port on your computer (not on your keyboard).
    3. If that doesn't work, turn iPhone off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPhone for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Note: If you enter the PIN incorrectly three times, you may need to contact your carrier for a Personal Unlocking Key (PUK) to enable your SIM card again.
    4. If that doesn't work, restart your computer and reconnect iPhone to your computer.
    5. If that doesn't work, download and install (or reinstall) the latest version of iTunes from www.apple.com/itunes.

You might need to remove and reinstall the Apple Mobile Device Service. Follow the link below for info on how to do this.

  • IPhone 3GS no longer works as it did the past 2 months!!

Despite the reputation of the AT&T network, I decided to make the switch (and get an iPhone) back in January. For the past 2 months, everything worked flawlessly! AS GOOD AS (dare I say) Verizon! No dropped calls. Good network (3G) coverage...no problems. NOW: I can no longer use my phone at my house! I HAVE to connect to my wi-fi. Calls can't be made. The service ***** now! I chat w/tech support, and they tell me that it's because of the lack of 'towers'. So I asked them if they just recently tore some down, and explained my GREAT service for the past 2 months! NO HELP from them...Anyone here have any ideas? Thanks!!

    Copied from this link.
    http://www.apple.com/iphone/how-to/#settings.locking-your-sim-card
You can lock your SIM card, so it can’t be used without a Personal Identification Number (PIN). You must enter the PIN each time you turn iPhone off and turn it back on again. Some carriers require a SIM PIN in order to use iPhone.
IMPORTANT: If you enter the PIN incorrectly three times, you may need to enter a Personal Unlocking Key (PUK) to enable your SIM card again. Refer to the SIM card documentation or contact your carrier. Some cellular networks may not accept an emergency call from iPhone if the SIM is locked.

  • G5 Won't Reboot Since WD Caviar Installation

I bought a WD Caviar Green 1 TB internal drive and installed it myself. I followed every step, carefully installed the drive, discharged static, etc., and turned on the computer. The fans kicked in like crazy and I got the ? of Death. Long story short: I got on the phone with WD and did what they told me to do. Got the ? of Death again. I removed the drive - ? folder again. Took the computer to Best Buy where I bought the drive. Geek Squad couldn't fix it. Got out the Tiger install disk out and tried to repair the disk with Disk Utility. Results: it failed to repair every time - said "1 Volume" would not repair. Reset the PRAM - nada. Now it's refusing to even eject the Tiger install disk!
Before I bought the WD internal drive, I never had a single problem with this Mac - never. It has worked flawlessly - and I only use it for film. Anybody have any suggestions on how to get it to reboot again from the original HD?

    Hi there!
I've revised about 15 minutes of a reply to your topic...
and deleted it all. So, I've been at this awhile. A few
ideas have been repeated in my post now as before.
Since there is no way to tell what was/n't done to the computer
you have, or the replacement hard disk drive to prepare it for
use in the computer you have, this is all guess work & tedium.
The hard disk drive may have the jumper pins incorrectly set
for use in your computer's configuration. That needs to be
checked to be sure; and since the new drive is already in the
Mac, that makes this harder. And, since there may be some
other issue wrong with the computer, other than the original
hard disk drive's failure (due to untold circumstances & age)
that matter is a secondary one as the hard disk drive should
still be replaced as part of a troubleshooting effort in the Mac.
An externally enclosed hard drive in FireWire enclosure, that
is capable of booting the Mac with OS X cloned or installed
on to it, is an ideal tool not only for backups and extra storage
but also to use as a test bed to see if the computer itself is OK.
Clone utilities can be downloaded & run for free to help do the
job of routine clones for backup and also for home tech repair.
I'd have not done business with Best Buy; they seem to have
a few things on sale and most stuff is only for sale. Retail. A
few of their techs may be interested in repairing old computers
but in several locations personal friends have been to, their
sales and tech staff is geared to selling or servicing only newer
hardware that they have recently sold; or mostly PCs & not Mac.
Western Digital (WD) hard disk drives, while they have improved
vastly from their clumsy and messy wake of destruction in some
older Macs with different architecture, would not be my first choice.
Since your G5 probably has SATA (serial ATA) hard disk drives,
the WD brand has vastly improved for newer hardware & SATA.
But I'd choose Hitachi, Toshiba, Seagate/Maxtor and others.
The jumper pins may be part of the problem.
And with the old drive, perhaps Disk Warrior could have rebuilt a
damaged directory in there; and if any excess content on the drive
were removed and plenty of free space for the OS X and Apps to
run was assured, perhaps the drive would work again for awhile.
It may also be, that the drive would need to be totally erased and
overwritten (secure erase) so as to zero the content and then a
reformat; then reinstall from scratch a whole new system, on it.
The paths to do that now are not so direct; since the repair to
the old drive could have been tried while it was in the computer
-or done if it had been put into an external FW enclosure and
later attended to via Disk Warrior or Drive Genius; after the Mac
had seen a new hard disk drive installed.
Since the original drive probably failed due to use, age and also
perhaps having been run too full of content, getting info off it may
be a worthy task. That can be done via an enclosure, so it can
be seen as just an external non-bootable drive, & files removed.
Well, I am not sure of a simple path now, but since I have the tools
at home to do the jobs I am referring to, the problem isn't mine.
PS: There also is a small chance you may have gotten a bad HDD.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • IPhone in Emergency mode

My iPhone just stopped working asking me to recovery from iTunes but, as I do so, I am asked to enter my sim card PIN number..... But cannot do it as it is on safe mode
Anybody can tell me what to do?
    Thank you.

Have you entered the SIM pin incorrectly?
The SIM can become locked if the pin is entered incorrectly too many times. If the SIM becomes locked you will have to get a PUK code from the carrier or get the SIM replaced.
You can try making a call on the iPhone and then entering the pin or restoring the iPhone from recovery mode. To put the iPhone in recovery mode, just power it off by holding the Sleep button until you see slide to power off. Then slide to power the iPhone off and then connect the iPhone to the computer while holding the Home button.

  • Aperture Map Is Suddenly Screwy

Hi all, I'm running Aperture 3.2.4 on OS X 10.6.8.
Recently, within the past couple of days, the map in the Places window has been going bonkers:
-> The zoom bar does not work.
-> My pins will be in the right place on the map until I double-click to zoom in; then they'll move hundreds of miles away.
-> Dragging the map will also move the pins incorrectly, and the map won't stay centered where I leave it - the center will "jump" when I release the mouse.
I can't find anything anywhere that mentions this problem, so I'm hoping someone here can help!

I've read that more recent versions of Aperture changed to Apple Maps over a year ago, but this problem just started happening this past week. So it might be some of the story, but perhaps not all of the story.
Be that as it may, if you're looking to geotag photos in Aperture, I've found an okay workaround, as long as you have Google Earth. This guy wrote a script that will set the location of any photos you have selected in Aperture to the center of the map window open in Google Earth: http://www.underdoug.ca/2012/08/13/geotagging-with-google-earth-and-aperture/
You'll need a crosshair to put at the center of the map window. The link to the one he suggests is broken. I found another one: http://regex.info/blog/2009-06-02/1225 - Just download the .kmz file and double-click it to import it into Google Earth (you might have to restart Google Earth to get it to show up).
It's unwieldy, but it'll have to do for now. Good luck.

It says I have to put a PUK code and I don't know what to put

    Hello Naly318,

  • To all who ordered from att, and not getting emails, sold out.

ok so i ordered my iphone 4 from att.com at approx 630 this morning..i used my visa debit card...there was a $1 hold on it followed shortly by the cost of the phone for me which was $422 after taxes since i wasnt eligable for the the early upgrade..well i have a order number and it shows up on the order details and everything but i never recieved a email confirmation like others mentioned they havnt recieved..i called att and told them what was going on and the customer service rep, who was the most helpful rep i have ever delt with in all honesty, said that the order was processed and that my order should be on time..she told me that their servers or what not are backed up and it might take a while to get the confirmation email and not to worry everything was ordered fine. she also confirmed the "rumor" about att being sold out of pre orders..she told me that anyone who ordered their phone after 430 eastern time would not recieve their iphone 4 on time, and would recieve it after june 25...
glad waiting up was worth it for me at least...just thought i would let you all know what i was told

I received my order confirmation email around 5:13 AM EST this morning from AT&T. Unfortunately, I entered my PIN incorrectly to transfer/port my VW number. I was told by an AT&T representative around 10:30 AM that my order would not be processed until the PIN was resubmitted correctly. My port status was finally confirmed around 2:30 PM. As of now my order status is "in progress" with all "quantity ordered"s. I'll have to call in and confirm that my order will be delivered on the 24th!

  • BT SmartTalk - Adding extra users

Well, I set it up on my Android with no problems. But I've hit a brick wall with my wife's.
Downloaded app OK and logged in to bt.com. It says that an account has already been set up on a different device and that service needs to be stopped before I can proceed. No way round this. Called the SmartTalk helpline and got a very helpful agent with whom I went through re-installation and checking online. Same result.
We eventually agreed that the system was reading the second phone as an attempt to set up an account rather than add a user, and we could find no options in the app or online to change this. The agent is arranging for a technician to call back tomorrow, and agreed that I could come to the forum meanwhile to see if any of the triallists or other users can throw any light on this. It's early days I know, but has anyone got some advice?
You can click the white star next to this message if you think it was helpful.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Erm, having issues too with my wife's set up
Did it all on her android phone, set everything up (new MyBT), had the automated landline call, waited for the text message (with the pin)
But left the app open, is this right? but then the phone froze
Phone started to respond so quickly exited the app.
Waited a little longer and had the pin come through, opened the app, typed in 4 digit pin - app says pin incorrect
Tried a few times, gives the same message (wrong pin or too many times) and the phone gets another text, with another pin!
The app yet again states that this pin is also incorrect and I need to wait an hour before I can try again.
That's it, I'm done with this already so I will uninstall the app on her phone, but how do I delete the newly created account?
    TIA

  • Hi guys a little help please

Hi guys, well i just got the new 3g iphone but i fail at making it work.Short story is i got the phone on the contract and i got a new SIM card with it ofc. After inserting the card i was asked to enter a PIN code to unlock it.I looked on the paper where my SIM card was enterd a PIN but nothing happend i tried it once but same thing, after typing the pin number i just get a screen emergency calls only.So if anyone can help me out here i would be much appreciated. So to make this clear im not trying to illegaly unlock this phone i got it the normal way and payed for it.

Could be that you entered the pin incorrectly and blocked the sim, if this is the case you will need to enter a further unlock code. This (in the UK) is held by the network directly. If the Iphone is not giving you a screen to enter this pop the sim in another handset and enter the code, this should then give you the option to choose a pin of your choosing. Once that is done, pop the sim bac in the iphone.

Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, you need to enter the PUK code and do not have it. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
