Hello BillJ (Elite I),
My carrier using Telkomsel sim card, but the carrier is Ok. Because i put the Sim Card to other Blackberry Bold 9000 is No Problem, everything is fine can BBM. And i already using other carrier Indosat from Bold 9000 to the Curve 9300 Still Pin Suspend or Block cannot BBM. ( No Logo BB beside the Signal carrier)
i think the Problem is not from the carrier but from the Blackberry Server Center, can you check it out what's wrong with my Blackberry Curve 9300 3G (Pin Suspend or Block)??
Thanx,
Bebek

  • Lost Phone and how to suspend PIN

My friend just lost her phone and her Service provider said they can't do anything to help.
Aren't they supposed to be able to Disable/Suspend the PIN of the lost device so that the "new owner"
can't even log onto BB network?
Now I am actually receiving BBM messages from the "new owner" asking me who I am.
Now my friend is wondering how she can compel her Provider into blocking PIN from BB servers so that the "new owner" can't access sensitive info she kept on phone.

I lost my BlackBerry 9700 Bold on 6 June 2012 or it was stolen - not sure. Anyway I got  my SIM Card swapped with my carrier but they could not blacklist my IMEI because I did not purchase my handset in South Africa but at a duty free shop at the airport. The carrier says that the South African system does not carry that range of numbers. Is there a way someone somewhere can block the PIN and IMEI so that it cannot be used., I know that whoever has the phone now has it on and it is live as we can ping my PIN number and it is active on BBM. Any assistance will be appreciated. I am already looking into acquiring a new handset but I want to put a damper on who found it as they could have returned it by calling a number on the contact list to find out who is the owner of this phone.

  • SCCM 2012 R2 - Bitlocker PIN not Suspending when performing patching

    Hello,
After upgrading to R2 version of SCCM, when applying
patching to our client machines, even with the "Suspend Bitlocker PIN
entry on restart" "Always" on, Bitlocker is not suspending.
This worked perfectly in SCCM RTM and SP1 versions.
Is there any configuration or patch to solve this issue?
    Regards,
    Eduardo Sousa

Take a look at rebootCordinator.log. The reboot must be triggered by SCCM client and the policy must already be applied to Client.

I'm now outside the country (since January 1). I try to register, and it
says it will text me the pin. This doesn't happen. I need to check my
service suspension request. I spoke with a rep before leaving. She told me
to suspend the services on the day I left the country, but there was no rep
to help me with that when I called on January 1. I tried to do it with the
mechanized options. I think it told me only three months was granted, but I
want to suspend for six months (until June 29). CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME HOW
TO PROCEED SINCE I CAN'T ACCESS MY VERIZON ACCOUNT. I'm in Morocco.

well, you know how it is - glitches that usually resolve with a hard reset etc
then a restore. then a factory restore....then ..... nothing fixes so I try the next step with apple online - fill out my serial number and find it is a couple of weeks out of date - and then with the holidays who has time to get to the apple store? this is my second 4s handset as it is - first one the glass cracked from L to R without any impact/damage etc - they changed it out automatically because it's a 'known fault' apparently - so technically, this handset is only 6 months old - but warranty is from original purchase date -
never imagined it would turn out to be a warranty issue with the phone - and hey maybe when I get a chance to go to the apple store they'll be sympathetic, but I won't be able to get there till at least Jan 4th as it is. On the other hand, another iOS update might resolve the issue - but how long till that release? at the moment I'm having to use my old 3gs for wifi and 4s for phone!!!

I have 8600gt and a similar problem. Since kernel 3.15 resume from suspend doesn't work. The screen just stays blank. Kernel 3.14.6 works fine.

  • Suspend to ram/disk stopped working overnight

My suspend to ram/disk used to work fine, but overnight, it stopped. It is not an update issue since, I was able to suspend after the last update. I decided to update today hoping that it is going to solve the problem, but the problem persist.
    Here is what happens:
    $ sudo pm-suspend
    or
    $ sudo pm-hibernate
The computer suspends faster than usual, as if it does not take the time to complete the suspend procedure. When I turn the computer on, it starts to boot instead of resuming from suspend. In the case of hibernate, this is clearly obvious. Normally it is suppose to take 10-30 s. to save the memory data to the swap, but this time the computer shuts fast (1-2s.), and I doubt that all the data is saved to swap.
Here are the logs for each case (/var/log/pm-suspend.log):

Sat Aug 25 22:13:48 EDT 2012: performing hibernate
This seems to be too few information to pin point the exact cause of the problem.
What should I do to troubleshoot this problem ?

My linux installation is actually on a harddrive using SATA on a desktop. I decided to remove this harddrive and put it into an external usb enclosure. I booted this linux installation on my laptop. When doing suspend, it works as it should, which let me think this is probably not a software issue.
If it is a hardware malfunction, which hardware malfunction can be responsible of an incomplete suspend procedure as described earlier?

  • HP dv3510nr suspend-to-ram / resume SATA issues

I'm trying to get suspend to ram working on my HP dv3510nr.. The problem is that when it resumes, the SATA drive seems to error out and cause the file system to fail.  I've tried s2ram -f with a few of it's options, and pm-suspend.  Neither resume properly (Actually, from the dmesg output it looks like it doesn't suspend properly either).  Suspend takes about 30-40 seconds, but resume takes about 3-5.  I have installed a Patriot 32GB SSD drive on this machine.  I'm wondering if that can cause something like this.  I am also using dm-crypt w/ aes-xts encryption for /dev/sda2.  This maps to /dev/mapper/root, which is an ext4 partition.  /dev/sda1 is an encrypted swap partition that gets setup on each boot by /etc/crypttab.cd

as my dv3550eg has no problem with suspend and resume, i think this is a problem with device-mapper and or cryptsetup or the ssd-drive.

Return the device to Amazon and get your money back for a non-working device.
If it is truly suspended or locked, there is no way around it, don't fight it.

  • Add a pin to bitlocker startup

hi all, I updated my T500 to use Bitlocker with the TPM. Now, to further secure it against brute force password attacks, I want to add a PIN to the startup.  I see that gpedit.msc option to Require additional authentication at startup but I am not sure of the sequence of events.
With bitlocker already protecting my C drive, if I set the option to Require TPM startup pin, where do I set the initial pin? When I look at the C drive options it doesn't show anything other than suspend, or manage. Manage only shows save or print recovery key again.
So, how do I tell bitlocker and the tpm to use a pin and where do I set that pin? Do I need to decrypt, set the policy, then re-encrypt? I do not want to get locked out with it wanting a pin I have not yet set.
Any help appreciated - MS online help is not clear at all on how these options should work.
    thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I know this post is kinda old but I just figured out this problem myself so thought I'd share. This is for those of us that turned bitlocker on prior to doing any configurations on the generic Windows 7 install and wish to add PIN functionality on top of the TPM after the fact.
    (1) First go into your Group Policy (run-> gpedit.msc) as an administrator. In the group policy settings, goto
Local Computer Policy > ..... >Bitlocker Drive Encryption > Operating Systems Drives
Find 'Require additonal authentication at startup', and set to enable. Then under the title for 'Configure TPM startup pin', set to "Require startup PIN with TPM". Apply/save and exit.
    (2) Now goto your command (CMD) prompt as an administrator. We will now force Bitlocker to use both TPM and PIN. Type in:
    manage-bde -protectors -add c: -TPMAndPIN
where 'c:' is your drive. If in doubt, look at some examples first by adding the "-?" command at the end, e.g. "manage-bde -protectors -?"
This will lead to a command line prompt for you to enroll a PIN. This has to be numbers. If you want to use letters, you have to go back to Group Policy (step 1) and do the addional step of enabling Enhanced startup PINS.
Now after all this is done, if successful, you can see that the options have changed when entering the "Manage bitlocker" GUI under control panels. Furthermore, when you first bootup into windows, you should be prompted for a preboot authentication PIN. Dont forget to backup your recovery keys just in case they prompt you of course.

  • How do I change my SIM pin?

I was robbed yesterday and my GalaxyIII was taken. Unfortunately I wasn't able to install any anti-theft apps, like Lookout. I already tried using Plan B, but the thief just uninstalled the app and turned the phone off. I don't want this person to remove my SIM card and insert their own, and be able to use a brand new phone that they didn't pay for! So I'm asking, how do I change or create my SIM PIN to keep my phone from being utilized by an unauthorized source? I'm very upset, I've only had the phone for 4 days. Someone please advice.

        Hello amandasimms,
I am extremely happy that you're safe and I completely understand the importance of making sure your phone is not activated.
As ritsbits1212 and silver6056 stated changing your sim pin will not be effective in preventing another to use the sim card or phone and the best action to take would be to notify us right away.
We can suspend the sim card and services for you. We will also be able to add the phone to a negative list for you. This will ensure that no one is able to activate your Samsung Galaxy SIII on their account.
Please contact us right away and let us know if you need anything further.
    Thank you,

  • [solved] No speaker sound after suspend

Hey I'm wondering if someone can help me out with this.  My speakers work fine after cold boot / reboot, but after suspend there is no sound.  Headphones still work before / after suspend.  This started quite a while ago, and I've been following this other thread: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=163248 but nothing has worked so far.
It's on a Dell M1330 laptop.  Below are some hopefully helpful outputs - I didn't notice anything different between before and after suspend outputs.
    Any help is appreciated.  Thanks

Same problem, kenel 3.9.x and 3.10.x on my old Dell Vostro 1500. Try this:

I found solution on the internet and I do not know why it works.
This didn't seem to work for me...

This did work!  It'd be nice to have the auto-mute functionality, but I don't use headphones *that* often.
    Thanks to both!

  • Keyboard not recognized when waking up from suspend

    Hello people,
    I have a HP Pavilion 11-n030ar x360 laptop (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04439109).
Every time the laptop wakes up from suspend, the keyboard isn't responsive anymore (even after waiting more than 10 minutes) so when I am using i3 I must hard shutdown which is really annoying.
I rebooted 3 times in a row and the keyboard wouldn't be recognized (despite that the keyboard was responsive at the grub menu, because I dual boot with Windows).
Here's the output of dmesg at waking up:

I hope to diagnose the problem so that I can fix it, but from the dmesg message, it's not clear to me what's wrong.
    Any help is appreciated, thanks!

I just started having the same problem on my desktop. Nothing in the logs that I can find, just Suspending system...  and that's it.
I don't think the keyboard is working at all, I would at least be able to reboot in the dark, not to mention Caps/Num lock lights won't come on either.
Mine started after I went from 3.13.5 > 3.13.6, but I also upgraded nvidia (331 > 334) and systemd (208-210) in the same -Syu, amongst others.

  • Suspended. Reason: 116 - Invalid Identifier

    Hello Everybody,
I hope someone here can help me.
My Blackberry Curve stopped receiving or sending data comunications last night.  My service provider(Rogers) troubleshot the issue down to the RIM servers.  Rogers stated that they could not access the RIM envirnoment to resolve this and I was given a phone number.  1 800 327-9085
It looks like I need to pay for a support call in order to have my Blackberry reinstated. This is of course ridiculous...since it was through no fault of mine that this issue has occured.
The error message: Suspended. Reason: 116 - Invalid Identifier
How can I resolve this ?
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Call Rogers back and ask (demand politely ) that  your issue be escalated to the RIM tech support level, for free. They will do that. There is no reason for you to pay for per incident support.
Rogers would not give you any reason for the Suspension?
What was suspended, your Rogers account, your PIN, your what?

  • Gigabit NIC reverts to 100mbs after suspend/resume

My motherboard has an integrated Realtek Gigabit ethernet controller, using the r8169 driver.  See lspci output below.
It works fine, except after a suspend-resume cycle, it reverts to 100Mb/s rather than 1000Mb/s.  It still works in 100mbs mode, just significantly slower.  I can manually fix it back to GigE via "ethtool -s eth0 speed 1000".  But I'd prefer to not have to do this.
Is there somewhere I should hard-code the ethtool settings, or should I modify a resume pm script?  Or is there another solution?
    Thanks!
    Matt

    Hi Matt,
same problem here. I've had this for several months now. Usually I don't even notice, because I don't transfer large files all that regularly.
A quick look on the kernel.org bug tracker turned this up: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10130 Seems like this is a fairly old issue.
ethtool gives me the exact same output as you've posted. I'm using the same chip and driver, but different motherboard:
