Pin.wid has become my default browser, i don't want it, can't uninstall and have no luck with 'about:config??
OK. How do I get rid of pin.wid as my default browser. When I click on firefox I get pin.wid. I can't uninstall it. I emailed them with this question. Reply (shortened); about:config in address bar, i promise, keyword.url in search box... stuck there.... no results.

We have not designated MSN as our default browser and it keeps coming up as default. We find it irritating since it just makes more steps.
http://msn.com might be your home page it is not a browser. Microsoft's browser is Internet Explorer. If you start in Firefox you stay in Firefox.
Having msn.com as your home page, if that is the problem, still doesn't really explain how that makes more steps for you. So we have to assume what you want to do, or expect.

A client gave me he's mini Ipad wifi as a gift.
It has all his information:photos, music, contacts, etc. I also took some photos that are in camera roll. I would like to erase everithing and make it totaly mine but don't want to loose my photos and his music which is very good. How should I do???Resetting the settings will reset things like the wallpaper to the default. It wont remove the apps or music.
As the previous poster said, the apps and music will be tied to the previous owners Apple ID, you'll need the password to update the apps and remain authorized to play the music.
I would suggest taking your stuff off (the camera pictures) then erasing all content and settings so the iPad is like new. For privacy reasons alone I would erase the device. I realise you want to keep the music, but since you haven't paid for it (it was purchased under someone elses ID) then it isn't yours to keep, you'll need to write down the tracks and purchase them under your ID. -

I need help Syncing my ipod to my mac. It has music on the mac currently but I want both my ipod music and the mac music together but it says i have to delete my ipod and only have the Laptop music on it. is there anyway to have both?

Well I want to put all of my music on my Mac, But everytime I plug it in and ask it to sync all music it tells me that I have to erase my Ipod and sync in with the music on my Mac... Consider this another complaint against Yahoo's unclear messaging. I do use Yahoo for some things and I thought perhaps they were going to improve interoperability between services, I guess Microsoft is rubbing off on them.
Mozilla - If my elderly parents encountered this problem, they would not be able to solve it without assistance. Please consider adding this to tools -> options. I love them, but I don't need the exercise in patience -

4. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
7. Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
10. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
[Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report the results. No harm will be done.
11. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
12. When you post the results, you might see the message, "You have included content in your post that is not permitted." It means that the forum software has misidentified something in the post as a violation of the rules. If that happens, please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.

Adobe Air Damaged can't uninstall and browser wont run
Hi,
I am in snowed in on a remote hillside in the Scottish Highlands.
My elderly neighbour - half a mile a way has been having trouble with her computer - I am trying to help her get back online
She is running XP and IE (I believe it is 7 but as you will see this isnt easy to determine)
Her life's work is on the computer (she is a biologist)
Our internet is *very* slow - the best we can get is 0.5Mb/s
The only browser installed on her system is IE, when it starts it immediately fails with the windows message box "Adobe Air - the installation of this application is damaged. try re-installing or contacting the publisher for assistance" The browser then immediately exits and the computer crashes If you shut it down you then get a blue screen with an IRQL error.
If you dont launch the browser the computer seems to work ok
As there is no other browser on the computer getting a new adobe installer on it is hard
You can't uninstall as the system crashes on uninstall
I have tried going back to an earlier restore point - same problem
I have tried safe mode - same problem
It seems to be running air v 2.0.4.13090
I have searched for adobeairinstaller.exe on the system so I can try a command line uninstall but can't locate it
I think the file must be damaged and so wondered if I might hack the registry to try and stop it loading
I *think* i have backed up all of the data and email but partly due to our slow internet [the windows update process will take several days] and partly due to the fact that she reinstalling some of her apps may prove impossible I *Really* dont want to format and start again
Any help - gratefully received - Please remember there is no working browser so anything that has to be downloaded has to be done here and walked up the hill through the snow on a usb key.

Timok I solved it myself
1/ use windows XP built in FTP to download Mozilla firefox from their ftp site
2/ use that to download adobe air latest installer
3/ use command line adobeairinstaller.exe -uninstall
4/ better but ie still not working so go to microsoft download centre (in firefox) and download an ie upgrade and install it
5/ reinstall air

Is it possoble to transfer my itunes library from my pc onto my wifes Imac which has her itunes library and establish two accounts on her Imac? If so what is the best method to accomplish this? I have a itouch player.
There are many ways to accomplish this, depending on how you want it. Setting up multiple accounts is easy under System Preferences:Accounts. After that open iTunes on your newly created account.
Now, is where you could do a couple of different things. If your PC is sharing the same network and you are able to see the files on the PC from the iMac, then just drag and drop the iTunes Library music folder structure (just the part that contains the actual music) into the iTunes window. If you can't access the PC files, then you need to copy them all to an external hard drive, and import them w/ the same method.
If you don't want to create a second root-level account for yourself, but want to keep the music library separate, create another iTunes Library. You do this by holding down the Option key while starting iTunes, then click on the Create Library option. Then import the music using either method above.
