Pinch and zoom with Content Viewer

Question regarding the Content Viewer -- I noticed the pinch and zoom does not appear to work with DPS files viewed in the content viewer. Once the files are built for final and submitted, will there be pinch and zoom available or does DPS prevent that from being available on the iPad? Thanks.

Pinch and zoom only works with pages created with PDF graphic format and with no interactivity.

  • Remote Desktop - Pinch and Zoom compatibility with Microsoft Access

Hi guys, not sure which forum to place this into but here we go.
We use Windows 8.1 tablets and RDP to a 2012 R2 Remote Desktop Server, we can pinch and zoom with Office 2007 Excel, Word without issues.
I would like to know if there is a list of programs that's compatible with pinch and zoom because it looks to me like Microsoft Access (2007 version) isn't compatible with pinch and zoom but I need proof for my IT manager.
Can you tell me if I should be able to pinch and zoom a database windows within MS Access?

    Hi,
As per my research there is no such description whether which program compatible with pinch and zoom but still as this seems more relate to tablet question. You can ask your comment over there for more perfect answering.

  • Basic step-by-step to create pinch and zoom articles for the ipad?

    Hi all,
I'm new to Adobe's Digital Publishing Suite. I'm converting a print publication into an ipad app for my employer.
I've selected PDF in the "Default Image Format" when creating a new folio in Folio Builder. And ticked the PDF pinch and zoom box in viewer builder.
However, I'm unable to get the pinch and zoom to work. Instead of zooming, a magnifying glass with a line through it pops up.
Could it have something to do with the Indesign file's dimensions versus the dimesions set in Viewer Builder? I've tested multiple sizes for both, yet
I'm unable to find what the trick is... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm seeing the same problem on my end.  I select PDF as the image format when I upload the folio, but when I view it on the iPad the text looks pretty shoddy and I can't pinch and zoom.  I really don't care about the pinch-n-zoom so much, as I do with getting a better quality rendering of my text.
I don't have smooth scrolling selected.
Nevermind - I see what the problem was.
I had a single page folio, that was set to smooth scrolling as a defaul in the Folio Producer and it would not allow me to change it.  I added a second page to the folio, and suddenly I could turn smooth scrolling off.  Problem solved I guess?
I'm sill not very happy with the way fonts are rendered on the iPad.  Maybe it will look better once the iPad3 with retina display is released.

  • Pinch and zoom on HTML5 content

Is there a way to pinch and zoom on HTML5 content in a mobile web browser? I published my course as scaleable content, so it fits my phone's screen, but it's small and I'd like to be able to zoom in to parts of the screenshots.

    To clarify:
You CANNOT pinch and zoom on the mail menus or the mail messages list. You CAN pinch and zoom if an email message is open on the email text itself just as you would on a Safari website page.
This is true for both the iPhone and iPad.

  • Pinch and zoom frame - incompatible with PDF article type?

    Hi there,
If I want to have pinch and zoom within a frame (i.e. not whole page), will this not work when the article type is PDF? I've only managed to get this working for a JPG article so far.
      Thanks,
    Toby

I'm finding pinch and zoom tricky to implement, in general. The only way I have got it to work so far is by creating a new document, then doing as described here:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/digitalpubsuite/using/WS9293e1fb3b977c5c73657495129f66e490f-7f fe.html
I then added the article to my folio using the JPG type. However, this only worked the first time I updated the viewer, and then stopped working on all subsequent updates. It's still just a placed image, there's nothing else on the page.
I've also tried adding pinch and zoom functionality to an existing article (PDF type) and couldn't get this to work at all, however I was adding it to a multi-state object, which may have been complicating matters.

  • When is "PDF pinch and zoom" available on Android?

I want to use "PDF pinch and zoom" on Android Deveice.
When is "PDF pinch and zoom" available on Android?
If it is available with next update, I'm very happy.

Did you choose the PDF image format when you created the folio? Are you using the Adobe Content Viewer or a custom app to preview the content on your iPhone?
Whoever told you to use v24 meant to say v24 or later. This applies only to older folio. If you're working with an older folio, go into folio properties and check the viewer version. If it's v20, change it to v26 or later, and then update the articles in the folio.

  • Bug in PDF pinch and zoom?

Hi, I have a big problem related the PDF pinch and zoom.
When I try to make an article with 2 vertical pages each containing one imported PDF and 1 horizontal page contain two imported PDF, the result is a simple jpeg page with no pinch and zoom.
The strange thing is that if in the same article I add more vertical and horizontal pages, the pinch and zoom works!
I use the latest version of Folio builder and Folio Producer and, off course, I follow the normal steps: I choose PDF when I create an article, I use iPad and not Android and the PDF zooming is enabled in Viewer Builder.
I need to have 2 vertical pages and 1 horizontal to adapt an a paper magazine (I know the DPS has not been made for this but my publisher want to publish all our magazine with this platform, we also have a magazine specifically designed for the DPS ). My "idea" is create a stack every two pages to allow rotation between pages remaining on the same pages and enable the horizontaly flow between "articles" but if the pdf are transformed in jpeg I can't proceed...
It's a bug or I missed some step?
Thanks in advance for your answers
Claudio (from Italy, sorry for my english!)

I think there might be a bug here.
I've successfully created a pinch zoom folio using the sidecar.zip files posted by Klaasjan.
However if I import my own article (_h and _v both set to iPad dimensions and containing a simple text field of text).
If the article format is set to PDF, once created and I view the Properties panel, the Smooth Scrolling option is set to Horizintal only and greyed out so it cannot be changed. So no pinch/zoom is available.
If the article format is set to Automatic, once created and I view the Properties panel, I can set the Smooth Scrolling property to Off (Snap to page) and tick the Horizintal Swipe Only checkbox (so I'm matching the setting of the sidecar examples).
However, when I the Update the article to the Folio Producer and then check the article Properties again, the Smooth Scrolling has reverted to Horizontal Only. So again, no pinch zoom.

  • Lost pinch and zoom!

is there a problem when adding multiple stacks/articles in that when you select multiple you lose what type of file it should be ie PDF etc.
reason I ask, is that pinch and zoom doesnt work using this work flow.
I went back and created the single issue folio with content builder and that folio works
    yet more frustrations.....
    thanks for any help
    Cheers
    Alistair

    Hi Bob, no.
I have 20 stacks/articles, most of which are static, so in Content builder I saved the folio as single issue, and in the drop down selected PDF as file type
then using the latest content builder created an ipa, put on the ipad and pinch and zoom works as expected.
Doing the same with the current and latest tools, and loading the stacks as multiple files, (with no way to select what type of file, pdf, jpg etc)
saving out to an ipa, I lose pinch and zoom.
just about to try adding the stacks one at a time, all 20 of them, deep joy!

  • Pinch and Zoom

Trying to enable pinch and zoom for an entire folio page. Have looked extensively around the forums and it has resulted in a few questions.
    1. Any way to enable full page zoom in a folio page?
    2. Will the Adobe Content Bundler be available outside of beta?
    3. How do you bundle pages as PDFs without using the Adobe Content Bundler?
    Thanks in advance.

    1.       The use of PDF graphic format with no interactivity will allow for pinch and zoom.
    2.       The beta program ended months ago.
    3.       The new folio builder is a panel found inside InDesign
You can download the appropriate tools by going to Adobe.com and clicking the download link. Browse to the folio builder tools.

  • DPS: pinch and zoom function not working on all pages within folio (v30 tools using the pdf setting). What would cause some pages to pinch and zoom fluidly, while other pages appear a bit sticky? Could it be a button on the wrong layer?

What would cause some pages in the same folio to pinch and zoom fluidly, while other pages appear a bit sticky? Could it be a button on the wrong layer that's not allowing the pinch and zoom to work?
I do have a "go to state" button that enlarges graphic to full page on the page. Could this be cancelling the pinch and zoom functionality? Would a box with text wrap ON affect the ability to pich and zoom? What else may be causing this?

  • One page not pinching and zooming on mobile devices

    Running OS X 10.9.2
    Adobe Muse CC 2014
I have uploaded a 4 page website via FTP. Originally the pages were displaying too big (wide) on mobile devices. I couldn't find a solution to this problem so I created a tablet version of the site. Doing so got around that issue, except now 1 out of the 4 pages is not responding to pinch and zoom on mobile devices. The other 3 pages are fine and display at the correct size.
I cannot for the life of me figure it out. Does anybody know why this would be happening?

So for anyone having the same issue I think I've found the problem.
Mobile devices do not respond to pinch and zoom if there is a scroll motion set on that page in Muse. In my case, scroll motion was set by default on the background image inside the content of an accordion panel widget. I had some trouble getting the scroll motion to save as zero for some reason, so I set the values to zero, then unchecked the 'motion' box in; Fill > Scroll > Motion on every background image in the accordion.

  • Is it possible to pinch and zoom

I have read that I can choose to add articles as pdf if I want the possibility to pinch and zoom.
If I try I get an error as soon as I try previewing the article.
    Isn't it possible.
    Nina Storm

I've found that when you create a folio by selecting multiple articles, folio builder seems not to generate them as PDF, and therfor pinch and zoom does not work, I've mentioned this loads of times, I think it is being looked into.
I think if you add articles one at a time it will work, but thats a bit slow! I've previously got around it by creating the folio in the old content builder.
    works fine in there.
    Cheers

  • Can't pinch and zoom pdfs from HTML Resources anymore

After Folio Viewer Update there is no pinch and zoom in pdf from HTML-Resources.
Before the Update everything works fine in my Folios. Has anybody the same problem?
I rebuild a Folio V32, Only vertical, Standard PDF - same Problem. (iOS8.0.2. Ipad)
    Is there a solution?
    Thanks

Yes. I am having the same problem. I cannot pinch and zoom into pdfs from HTMLResources.zip, which is making them unusable in my app for the phone version.

  • IPAD3 PINCH AND ZOOM

Ok working my first ipad 3 rendision. Have a Pinch and Zoom or pan and zoom box and on the ipad3 its not allowing me to zoom in vary far? I have the asset at 4000x4000 px?

You'll get that behavior when you use a 1024x768 source document for the pan and zoom and create a 2048x1536 folio. When you're doing that, you'll want to scale the image by 50% so that the effective ppi is 144 pixels (the Info panel shows the image's effective ppi). (By the way, the upcoming v23 release will offer more options for this situation.)
From the Pan & Zoom help topic:
As a general rule, make sure that the image has the exact dimensions you want to use. For example, to pan a 1024-by-1024 pixel image within a 200-by-200 pixel view area, create a 1024-by-1024 image in 72 ppi. However, if you are using 1024x768 source documents in a 2048x1536 folio, using 72 ppi images can result in a different initial view experiences on different iPad models. One approach is to use layers to create different pan & zoom overlays for the different iPad sizes. Another approach is to scale the image by at least 50% so that the effective ppi is at least 144. That way, the initial view behavior remains identical, although the iPad 3 pan and zoom has a more restricted view area.

  • EPub format and pinch-and-zoom

    Hello all,
I'm curious if someone can tell me whether the pinch-and-zoom capability seen on the IPad is a function of the hardware, or is it something that needs to be dealt with in advance in the ePub document?
I wouldn't mind having images that a reader could zoom in on and that would be nice and sharp at some high-level zoom, but don't know if, or how, I can ensure that my book images will be sharp throughout. Any ideas or info will be appreciated.
    -T

I think it's hardware function. Email yourself a PDF or newsletter and go to an apple store and check your mail.
