Pinch open and close does not work, can anyone hepl me?

The pinch feature does not work anymore on my macbook air
I checked in system preferences, trackpad, and this feature is 'checked'.
I have turned off the computer, what else can I try?

Click on the Apple icon at the top left of the screen. Select "System Preferences", then "Trackpad".
Be sure to select:
"Pinch Open and Close" in the "Two Finger" Menu...

You can assign function to the related browser.gesture prefs on the about:config page.
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

To find pinch open and close and how it works in macbook pro go to the apple icon. Open system preferences and the choose trackpad. Each item is illustrated.

I'm having trouble with the pinch open and close function on my trackpad. It was working fine until I installed the new Google upgrade and now it doesn't seem to be working. Any suggestions. The other functions are working fine.

Window.open() & window.close () does not work in Portal application

I am trying to open & close a popup window from a weblogic portal. But the following don't seem to work in this environment. As a web application, it works fine.

I am using Weblogic Workshop 8.1 SP3.The above code opens up a new window but it cannot be closed with

I have even tried calling the script function where I write this code but without success.
Does any one know why is this happenning ? Please tell me what is the work around for this situation.

Not sure if anybiody answered this for you, or if you figured it out, but here you go. In the skins directory, the default skin contains a menu.js file which has the following function at line 232:
function close(menuItem)
if (menuItem && !currentMenuItem)
closeAll(menuItem);
This function is overriding the inherent javascript close() function. Simply rename this to something else (I renamed it to closeItem) and rename the call to it at line 228 (setTimeout("close(tmpMenuItem)", tryClosePause);), and you're golden.
The two functions should look like this:
function tryClose(menuItem)
if (!currentMenuItem)
tmpMenuItem = menuItem;
setTimeout("closeItem(tmpMenuItem)", tryClosePause);
function closeItem(menuItem)
if (menuItem && !currentMenuItem)
closeAll(menuItem);

My safari was opening and now does not, what can I do?

Safari was opening, but now appears lost. In the tool bar the word safari shows, but when you click on it, the only black words are services, hide safari, and hide others. I thought I might be able to reset, but it is not highlighted.

You're right, that won't work.
Which OS X is installed on your Mac?
If you aren't sure, click About this Mac from your Apple menu 
You should see Reset Safari under Private Browsing from the Safari menu.

Thanks for your prompt reply. However, the sources you gave do not seem to apply exactly to my situation. I have attached some screenshots that show what the dialogue box looks like for a pdf download, and what my settings in the Apps panel of Options are. You will note in the first screenshot that I have checked the box to handle this file type automatically; however, the next time I try to download a file of that type, the same dialogue box appears looking exactly like the one shown, so checking the "automatic" option appears to do nothing. The files to be downloaded from my Gmail messages are not generic or altered file types - they are shown as pdf, doc, docx, etc. So while your intent was good, your post did not help. Thanks anyway.

Yes it does, although I wa a minute faster than you. To see if someone is parroting you, or that they just posted at the same time, look at the head of the post and it will show you the data and time of the post and who they were responding to. Looking at that first saves some misinformation in future posting.
You'll see some posts where there will be 5 posts all in the same minute sometimes. Answer posts late at night and you won't see as many.

Try this.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
