Pinch to Zoom Gesture ISSUE!

My MacBook Pro, running 10.6.8 SL, is having some major
issues with the pinch to zoom, or pinch open & close,
whatever you want to call it, only in Safari 5.1!
I'm able to only 'pinch' once, but I cannot pinch any further
or return it to its original size after that.
I've already turned off and then back on all my trackpad settings,
and nothing is working.
Pleaseee let me know if anyone has any advice whatsoever!
Thank You! :D

I get this too, but quiting and re-opening Safari fixes the issue until it stops again.

  • Zoom gesture issue

    I want to add zoom gesture to an image in a mobile application. When I try to zoom it, the center is not maintained and image tends to move out in random directions and the zoom is not smooth. I noticed that the sample given in Tour-de-Flex also doesn't have the Zoom functionality working well. How can I fix this issue?

    A couple things to check:
    1. If you have open gl enabled,try turning it off and see if
       that makes a difference. (just a temporary fix)
    2. Try different open gl settings i.e basic or normal.
    3. Update your video card drivers.

  • Firefox 4 does not responds to pinching and zooming gestures on Macbook

    Previous Firefox 3 , i was able to enlarge text size by using 2 finger gesture on my MacBook touchpad, But it does not work on FF4.

    Some gestures have been removed in Firefox 4.
    You can restore the zoom feature by changing the values of the related prefs on the <b>about:config</b> page.
    browser.gesture.pinch.in -> <b>cmd_fullZoomReduce</b>
    browser.gesture.pinch.in.shift -> <b>cmd_fullZoomReset</b>
    browser.gesture.pinch.out -> <b>cmd_fullZoomEnlarge</b>
    browser.gesture.pinch.out.shift -> <b>cmd_fullZoomReset</b>
    browser.gesture.pinch.latched -> <b>false</b>
    To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
    If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />

  • Pinch & zoom gestures not working in Safari

    Help!  Since updating iPhone 4 to iOs 5.1, "pinch &amp; zoom" gestures do not zoom in on page in Safari.  Can anyone help with this?

    On Lion 10.7.2, iMac, pinch to zoom does not work at all in any application.  It is selected in Preferences.  Apple Genius & tech on the phone could offer nothing, no reason why, & no fix .  Better Touch Tool does not offer a pinch to zoom, so that didn't help.
    Among my friends, some say it works, some say it does not, about half & half.
    APPLE!  Please give us a fix for this!

  • Using FlipView to create a PhotoViewer with pinch to zoom capability (like WP8 PhotoApp)

    Hello,
    I'm currently developing a Universial App using WinRT to develop for Windows 8.1 and WP8.1. Inside that app I want to view a couple of images. Viewing the images works just fine with a FlipView but the disadvantage is, you cannot zoom. I searched for a solution
    for several hours but I cannot manage to find something good.
    Most solutions say I should use a ScrollViewer but it seems that it cannot work fine with the flipView as I'm still able to switch the image while I have a zoomed image and thus the next image is also zoomed as well.
    The best solution I could manage to find is the MediaViewer Control but unfortunately it's written for WP8 Silverlight so I cannot use it directly. I tried to port it to WinRT but I failed because it's using a ViewportControl and there's no such control
    for WinRT, we only have a ViewBox but I don't know if it behaves like the ViewportControl and it's also lacking some methods which are used by the MediaViewer Control.
    Can someone help me building a control which supports zooming and switching images? My goal is to reach a similar behaviour as in the photo app for WP8, that means I'm completely able to switch images as long as the aren't zoomed. If the ZoomLevel is >
    1, then it should only be possible to pan the image but not trigger any item switch.
    Any help is greatly appreciated
    Regards

    It's been a while since you posted this and I only saw it by chance but here's your answer, hope you will see it :)
    In my current solution I'm still using a FlipView but I don't handle zoom events with a ScrollViewer. Instead I created a small control which is embedded in the FlipView as ItemTemplate so I can handle the pinch to zoom gesture. To prevent flipping the Images
    I used two events in my custom controls which are fired when zoom gestures happened so I can lock/unlock image flipping. The events are hooked on the page because there I determine if I should handle the Manipulation event to flip an image or not.
    It used quite a bit of time to get to that solution but it works really good. As said, one disadvantage is that you have to use an own FlipView and embed my control in it instead of using one ready to go control. Also, currently you lose that peeking feature
    which the FlipView has when you perform a drag but don't do it far enough to really switch the element but it's something which one could live with
    I hope I could help you even after some months have passed.

  • Disable pinch to zoom, but only for resizing icons?

    On my shiny new 17" MacBook Pro (my first ever MacBook, which I'm loving!) I keep inadvertently resizing my Finder/desktop icons using the trackpad. Can I switch off the pinch to zoom gesture for this purpose, without switching it off entirely?
    Cheers

    you can try BetterTouchTool (search using google) and set for finder to use the pinch gestures to do something like volume up or some key combo. It works pretty well. If you try this method and have and questions, let me know.

  • OS Lion does not support pinch/zoom gesture in Finder

    I've seen multiple posts on this same issue.  I just want to add my vote to Apple to restore the pinch-zoom gesture in Finder to OS Lion.  I'd love see either a solution, or software update that will rectify this issue.  I don't even know why there would be any sense in removing this feature.
    Vic

    Thank you for your response Rodney.  The issue isn't with the browser though.  The pinch-zoom works perfectly in Safari.  The issue is with Finder.  When I'm sorting/organizing files in Finder, I the pinch-zoom functionality doesn't work, so I'm limited to the 4 viewing styles buttons that are available.  I can't scale my views which is really inconvenient.  Finder used to have this functionality in OS Snow Leopard, so I really hope this function is restored in OS Lion.
    Any feedback or ETA if this is going to be addressed by Apple?  I see many other cries to have this feature restored in OS Lion.
    Sincerely,
    Vic

  • OS X 10.6.6-gestures for pinch to zoom or expand do not work.

    Just installed Firefox 4 RC 1 and noticed that the pinch to open or close (zoom/expand) do not work. I can use other gestures (like swiping three fingers to move back or forward, but no luck with the pinch to zoom or expand. Keyboard shortcuts for this function work fine (command +/-).

  • Lion vs snow leopard "pinch and zoom" issues?

    Since changing to Lion from snow leapord, I can no longer "pinch and zoom" ?  the only time it seem to work is with a safari page?  The desktop wont zoom any more ?

    You never could zoom the desktop in SL with finger gestures alone. You could zoom it by holding down the control key and using a two-finger upward swipe. Is that what you mean?
    If so, you can still do this in Lion. You need to go to
     > System Preferences... > Accessibility
    click 'Zoom' in the sidebar list, and check 'Use scroll gesture with modifier keys to zoom'

  • Pinch to Zoom doesn't work properly!

    Whether in Chrome or in Album, the pinch to zoom function doesn't perform as expected.  It zooms irregularly and is also jerky by the way. In chrome, it's even worse. I am on .534 and also repaired using PCC, is this a software issue or should I be going for a replacement?

    Uh, it's like when you start to zoom, it doesn't zoom smoothly. It's jerky and doesn't zoom at all sometimes. In other case scenarios, if you zoom in fully it gets zoomed just partailly. The problem is that it doesn't recognise the gesture properly. No, I'll try with QuickPic and update you. And, just the ASF installed. No other protectors or cases by the way

  • How can I enable the android one-fibger zoom gesture in Firefox?

    2 OS versions ago, android changed the system wide zoom gesture to a single finger one.
    double tap -> hold -> move finger up or down
    This doesn't work in Android, which is still stuck on the old iOS style pinch zoom gesture.
    Is there an option to fix this?
    If not it should really be filed as a bug, since every other app I use on Android works the new way.
    I'm used to the one finger gesture and much prefer it, and I suspect other users feel the same.

    We don't support this currently. We are considering this but don't have a specific timeframe when it would be supported.

  • Magic Track Pad with Lion 10.7 and Safari zoom aA vs Pinch to zoom

    Hi,
    I enjoy a Mac Mini (early 2009) hooked to a 50 inch plasma and surf from my couch, stream etc... We browse with Safari 5.X and enjoyed the new Magic Track Pad with Snow Leopard. You could zoom / scale Safari with Snow Leopard beautifully, with a pinch out on the trackpad, same function as aA option on the browser task bar.
    Now with Lion, the pinch to zoom feature zooms but doesn't scale the safari window the same way aA option used to.  In lion a pinch out to zoom in will push a significant part of the browser screen off / out of view.
    The aA option on the safari task bar scales the window, and keeps everything visible but larger, but now in Lion it is not available from the Magic Track Pad Gestures. The Button is still there on the browser but there is no option to access it from the track pad with a gesture.
    How can I revert to the old way of zooming / Scaling a Safari web page with my Magic track pad in Lion?
    Thanks,
    H

    You can see in that screenshot that a lot of browser.gesture.pinch prefs have an empty string as their value and thus won't have any effect.
    You can restore some zoom feature by modifying the values of the related prefs on the <b>about:config</b> page via the right-click context menu.
    * browser.gesture.pinch.in -> <b>cmd_fullZoomReduce</b>
    * browser.gesture.pinch.in.shift -> <b>cmd_fullZoomReset</b>
    * browser.gesture.pinch.out -> <b>cmd_fullZoomEnlarge</b>
    * browser.gesture.pinch.out.shift -> <b>cmd_fullZoomReset</b>
    You may want to toggle this pref (I don't know what effect this has):
    * browser.gesture.pinch.latched -> <b>false</b>

  • Remote Desktop - Pinch and Zoom compatibility with Microsoft Access

    Hi guys, not sure which forum to place this into but here we go.
    We use Windows 8.1 tablets and RDP to a 2012 R2 Remote Desktop Server, we can pinch and zoom with Office 2007 Excel, Word without issues.
    I would like to know if there is a list of programs that's compatible with pinch and zoom because it looks to me like Microsoft Access (2007 version) isn't compatible with pinch and zoom but I need proof for my IT manager.
    Can you tell me if I should be able to pinch and zoom a database windows within MS Access?

    Hi,
    As per my research there is no such description whether which program compatible with pinch and zoom but still as this seems more relate to tablet question. You can ask your comment over there for more perfect answering.
