PIng 'Cannot Connect To iTunes Store' message on iPhone

is anyone else getting this message. I have been unsuccessful in getting Ping to work on my iPhone 4 (running 4.02) despite having it up and running on my MBP and iMac.
Has anyone found a workaround for this issue?

Yes, I'm certain I'm running 4.1, my friend has a developer account and I installed it yesterday after it was released. You're right though, it is possible that Apple hasn't fully enabled it because 4.1 hasn't officially been released to the public. Maybe as next week's release gets closer it will start working. Either way, I will definitely let you guys know if mine does start working. If there was a way to post screen shots on here then I would, just so everyone would know that I'm really running 4.1, but I promise I am. BTW- my proximity sensor (iPhone 4) is still screwed up, the GM version that I have is most likely what will be released next week. I'll probably just have to take my phone in for a replacement, but that's a topic for a different post.

Why do I get "Cannot connect to ITunes Store" message on my IPad and IPhone?
I have tried numerous times to connect to ITunes Store to update my current apps and continue to get this message.  Apple has determined that it is not a device problem or an Apple problem.  It has to do with ITunes.  Can anyone help?

I am having no problems downloading from the app store today. I just tried it again. However, I read some of those other discussions as well and there have been times when the iTunes or App Store has been out of commission. Don't hold your breath waiting for Apple to acknowledge it because that is not going to happen. That is not how they operate.

  • "Cannot connect to iTunes Store" message

Why do I keep getting a "Cannot connect to iTunes Store" message when I try to update apps on my iPod Touch. I have a wifi connection, and I can buy music through the store, but I can't update apps.
I've read various explanations and fixes (uninstalling software, deleting programs, etc.), but nothing seems to work. One answer that makes sense is that a corrupted app is causing problems. But before I delete all my apps I want to make sure that will work.
    I'm open to suggestions.

I read in another discussion that deleting apps solved the problem so I tried deleting the 7 apps that needed updating and installing them again. Fortunately, all of them were free except two that cost me a combined $3. It seemed to work. I can access the iTunes store and didn't have any problems installing the apps. The next hurdle will be when I have to udpate an app. We'll see.
P.S. I think that there may be a problem with the The NY Times app and the "Newstand", but I'm just guessing.

  • HT1386 While trying to update an app I keep getting a "cannot connect with iTunes store"message

For some reason my iPad say I cannot connect with iTunes store while trying to update an app. I've tried all I know. Any suggestions?

I am getting the same message. This is what I did to update my apps.
Go to the App Store and search for one of the apps that needs an update. When the app appears in the search - there should be an Install button next to the app icon. Tap on it and see if the download will start. It worked for me.

  • Why am I getting 'cannot connect to iTunes store' message when going to App Store?

I recently purchased a refurbished iPad 1 (iOS 5.0) from the Apple Store.  I've downloaded one free app from the App Store.  But today when I returned to the App Store, the following message displayed:  Cannot connect to iTunes store.
I have an Apple ID which I can see via Settings.  The software is up-to-date (checked software update).  I can access the App Store via my iPod Touch.
Any words of wisdom?  Thanks in advance.

    iPad 1 (iOS 5.0)
    Tap Settings > Store
Make sure Apps is switched on under Automatic Downloads.
If you download an app on one device it should automatically sync to the other providing they are both running iOS 5.

  • I keep getting "Cannot connect to iTunes Store" message

Everytime I try to download an update or just a new app, I am asked to put in my password. I do that and I get a message that says "Cannot connect to iTunes Store". I have gone and changed my password and updated my info and I still am getting the same message. This just started recently.

So, I looked around the web for some solution as to how to fix this problem and found this:

I did all of the things in this list and of course turning the iPad off then back on worked.

  • HT201412 "cannot connect to iTunes Store" from my iphone

When I try to update or download apps, i get the following message:  "cannot connect to iTunes store".  HELP

If you are doing it using Wifi I would try to refresh the connection.
I do this quickly by turning Airplane mode on for a few seconds to disconnect from 3G and WiFi.  When you turn Airplane mode off you should reconnect to your networks.  This may clear the problem.
If not reset your phone, hold the Home and power button's down at the same time until the Apple logo apears on screen.  wait for your phone to restart.  You may have to log into your wifi network if it is secured.
