Ping on Twitter

I'm trying to connect my ping account to twitter but it won't work! It just says "We cannot complete your request, there was an error in the iTunes store please try again later". It's been 24 hours but it's still there. I tried different computers, different iTunes accounts, and different twitter accounts but it STILL won't let me :/ Yet all my friends have it connected...

Try to log out and in.. another machine.. change Twitter password..
just get that error message..

Connecting to Ping using Twitter.

I have the latest ITunes 10.3.1 (55) and when I try to send a Ping tweet to Twitter when clicking on the Ping drop down list box next to each box and when I click Like the songs don't go to Twitter. However, when I highlight or select an individual song and click the Like button in the Sidebar it will send a tweet of the song to my twitter account and publish it.
Is anyone else having this issue by selecting Ping... and selecting Like and not being able to send tweets?

I emailed Apple Support about this and they are no longer using that direct Ping/Twitter integration link from the account page in the iTunes store. Instead you post iTunes store content to Twitter from the drop down menu in the buy/rent, etc. menu next to an item in the store. Since they are going full out with integrating Twitter into iOS maybe they will do the same for iTunes as well.

Apple should integrate Ping with Twitter and Facebook!!!

It would be awesome to share your playllists with your friends and mix it up.

I have noticed that my ping activity was not showing up in my twitter feed - as it is set up to do. I tried to disconnect and recconect my ping account with twitter but I keep getting an error:
We could not complete your request.
There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later. (3131)
Anyone have similar problems?

Non Functional PING!!! in BB10 Devices !!

Hi, most of the BB10 users missing the actual PING!!! in the new BBM and waiting for such an update which will bring the old notification features like diffrent sound and vibration, because PING!!! with a red color only means a non_functional_ping

Hi Mossa,
Thanks for your feedback regarding PINGs in BBM.
WIth BlackBerry 10, the individual PING does not vibrate by default, however, you can manually enable your BBM to vibrate in your Settings.
Under Settings, go to Notifications and in the desired profile scroll down to BBM under Applications and under Vibrate, change it to the desired number of times (1 to 5).

Pinging local hostname resolves to loopback and not actual ip address

When I'm on the a server and I try to ping it by name (server1) it resolves to ::1, when I expect it to resolve to the actual IP address (eg. 10.10.5.6). The hosts file is default with everything remmed out. I can add an entry to my
local host file:
10.10.5.6 server1
But is this by design?, or is there some configuration setting I have wrong?

use "ping -4 server1" instead to call the IPv4 address.
By default IPv6 is used on the new version from Windows and if IPv6 is enabled, which is recommended, this interface will answer with the loopback ::1. So what you see is correct.

Cannot ping DAG IP

I have a two node Exchange 2010 DAG.
One is active and sits in Site A and one is passive for replication purposes and sits in Site B.
In Failover Cluster Manager, the DAG is set up with two IP addresses - one is online and one is offline.
Today I noticed that for some strange reason, the passive server at Site B cannot ping the current online DAG address at all. But it can ping other physical hosts using the same subnet as the DAG address. In fact nothing at Site B can ping the
DAG address. But they can ping everything else. Everything at Site A is working perfectly. There is nothing wrong with the routing, everything checks out. Nothing is being blocked.
Why is this happening?

Is this OS Windows 2008 R2? If so look at the firewall fix that is in this post:

How to post on Ping?

This may sound completely dumb....but how do we make a post on Ping? I mean, I'm looking at all of the artist pages and they are posting things as if it's a status update on facebook, or a tweet on Twitter.
I want to write something on my page, but I don't know how.
I don't see any post button anywhere so how am I supposed to post something? I don't have any followers yet - is that why I can't post anything?
However, if I go to Lady GaGa's page (I'm following her) I get the options to Like or Post on the right sidebar. But I did a test post and it was basically saying to post a comment about Lady GaGa's page. So on my page it said "Nick posted a comment about Lady GaGa:"
So how to I make up my own posts? And will regular people get to post pictures/videos like artists do?

I have the same issue. I have well over 4,000 albums in my iTunes library (all legally purchased on CD and loaded into iTunes), but zero music purchased through the iTunes Store. This very much limits opportunity to participate in a "social" network. I'd like to have my Ping page update to reflect music I've added to my library, and note what I'm currently playing. I'd also like to review the music I own, which I suppose could be uploaded/synched with like material on the iTunes Store.
So far, though, I feel that participation is pretty limited.

Ping and Facebook

I know I saw Facebook integration in the keynote, how do I connect the two? I can't for the life of me figure it out and I'm an engineer. This is one of Apples rare poorly designed features. I want it so that when I like something in Ping it shows up on my Facebook profile.

Apple marketed Ping as a social network, without the social network it's just a primitive combination of twitter and myspace.
It would not have been hard to compile iTunes without Ping until it was working, they still could have release iTunes 10 for the new iPods. I guess I'll shut it off until it does what it's supposed to.

PING search box

The PING search box is not working, I have search for bands to follow such as; Metallica, Simple Plan, Pink Floyd, Black Eyed Peas, etc. and no results even though iTunes carries their music. What's up?

It doesn't mean the search box isn't working, it just means that those artists aren't on Ping yet.
Even though iTunes sells their music, doesn't mean that they will be on Ping. Ping is essentially like Twitter, an artist will CHOOSE to go on Twitter to get connected with their fans.
Ping works the same way - an artist will have to CHOOSE to join Ping, they don't have to though.
However, I think in the near future many artists will be on Ping because it will be a way for fans to get information about just music, not all nonsense in which they might post on Twitter.
For example, popular artists that have already chosen to be on Ping are Katy Perry, Lady GaGa, U2, and more. If you search for them in the search box, you'll find them

Facebook and Ping

Is it not possible to connect the two? In the Ping FAQ, it says if you want to connect with Facebook, you have to search for it in Ping. But no, there are no search results for Facebook in Ping. And on Facebook, it's as if Ping doesn't even exist; there's no mention of it anywhere.
Also, I don't know why Lady Gaga's Ping has a Twitter-esque feed, but on my Ping I don't see anyplace for me to write my own feed. I suppose that I, being a non-famous person, don't deserve one (?).
If anyone knows anything that I'm missing, please tell me, but as a whole I have to say, very underwhelming debut for Ping.

Integration with facebook friends was touted in the original video about how to use ping but the feature mysteriously disappeared between the roll out of iTunes 10 and its being available to download very late that night.
I read somewhere that SJ was asked about it and there was some hints at some sort of disagreement on an arrangement facebook wanted from Apple in order to link to it. There was also a possibility that there was a technical glitch delaying implementation but consensus seemed to be that facebook wanted too much from Apple.
Something's gotta happen soon to energize ping or its gonna just vaporize.

Ping - How does one connect with Facebook?

I see the message to connect with Facebook but do not see a link or instructions. Can someone show me how?

I got ping earlier today, and i was asked to connect to facebook. i tried and after multiple attempts it still wasnt working, it would never load. Eventually, i found out that the apple servers were overloaded with people trying to upload photos and connect to facebook. Then i got the message (U.S. members are not allowed to connect at this time) or something along those lines. Now its completely gone. I believe apple will get their servers up and running overnight and give the capability back to everyone in a day or two. For now, you will just have to live with twitter and facebook.
