Pink hue issue?

is the pink hue still an issue with the 23 inch ACD?
macbook   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

It still pops up on the forum from time to time. But, it does not seem to be nearly as frequent as it was at first. In fact the last time I had the LCD panel replaced in mine I had the "opposite" problem. That is, the display was completely "washed out". Calibration with a Spyder2Pro took care of that. These displays do seem to need calibration "out of the box", esp. if you are doing any color critical work or if you want your printouts to even resemble your screen images.

  • Intel Mac Mini Pink hue display problem

Originally purchase a refurbed Mac Mini 1.66 Intel Core Duo, and over the years I've upgraded the RAM (w/ 2 Gigs) replace wifi "G" card with "N" card. Unfortunately, my mac mini died. Went to the Apple store in Tampa, and the genius said the logic board was toast.
I replaced the logic board with 1.83GHz Intel Core Duo board, and everything is working fine except for the display.
When it starts up, the standard grey screen now has a pink hue. After booting is finished the screen still has the pink hue. However, after a bit, the screen turns to normal, but there is some flicker. My mini is connected to a Samsung LCD 17" display that is working fine. There are no cable issues, I connected the display to my iBook, and it works fine.
Has anyone come across this before? Do I need to reseat the RAM sticks? Is there a software setting that I need to change since I upgraded from a 1.66 logic board to a 1.83?
The logic board is under warranty, but I was hoping to get some answers that can be easily fixed instead of sending it back.

I took the mac mini to work, and hooked it up to my monitor. It still displayed the pink hue at start up. I'm leaning toward this being a bad logic board.
One thing that is curious is that the screen will loose most of the pink hue as the Mac Mini warms up. It's almost back to normal, but the colors still have a little too much pink even after adjusting the monitor. Also, you can see flicker as it warms up as well.
I'm sending back the logic board for replacement.

  • External monitor has overly pink hue after last update.

Hello I have an older Macbook Pro (2 GHz Core Duo). I am using an external CRT for a second display and after downloading a small security and Safari update two days ago I have been experiencing a strange issue. The color is dominated by a pink hue which I cannot correct in any way. I tried the Color Sync calibration and have also tweaked the settings on the CRT itself but it will not go away.
I should mention that the problem is definitely not the monitor as I use it for my Xbox 360 as well and the color is perfect when using it so I am clueless as to what to do.
I am also without Apple Care so before I drop $50 on a one-time troubleshooting call is there anyone who is also experiencing this problem and has found a way to fix it?
    Thanks.

Hi. The same thing is happening to my Mac Pro (2.66 GHz Quad Core). I am using a 23" Samsung LCD/TV display. The color is dominated by a pink hue which goes away and shows up intermittently and that's the weird part - some days it's happenings and some days it doesn't. I've tried the Color Sync calibration both on my Mac and the LCD/TV itself. I know that it's not the LCD display since this is also connected to my Dell PC and I don't have the same issue when I'm using it as a PC display. I can watch TV on it with no problems as well.
My best guess is that it is somehow connected with a graphics cards (NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT) problem. I might have to take it out and inspect it (clean or something) and put it back. My Mac Pro is about a year old.
This could be a software problem, I'm not sure, I don't know. It has the latest software upgrade.
Am hoping that there is somebody out there that had experience the problem before and found a fix for this.
    Thank you.

  • "Pink Hue" after updating to Digital Camera RAW 4.08

    Hello,
Anyone else is getting "Pink Hue" in Preview (Quick Look and Preview app) for RAW images on OSX 10.8.4 after updating to Digital Camera RAW 4.08 ?
The Thumbnails of the pictures are showing up fine, and I'm not facing this issue on my other Mac running Mac OSX 10.7.5 (MacBook Mid 2010).
    Thank you..

UPDATE: I have contacted Apple Care, they asked me to delete RawCamera.bundle and RawCameraSupport.bundle  from /System/Library/CoreServices then install Digital Camera Raw 4.07 from http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1666?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
RAW pictures are showing up normally now, it appears to be a bug. They sent a request of this to the engineering team.

  • Pink hue on iPhone 5 screen after iOS 7?

I did not notice this before updating to iOS 7 this afternoon, but there is now a very visible and distracting pink color on 90% of my screen. The very outside 1/4 inch is normal. I'm not sure if this is a long time problem and only just discovered with all the stark white in iOS 7 or what. There is a thread on macrumors forums with a few others who have had the same problem. I made an appointment at the local Apple Store this evening and the genius said it was a "feature" of iOS 7, which is rediculous, but they stood their ground. There were only a couple other iPhones in the store that had iOS 7 and she said they all displayed the same purple/pink hue on screens with white backgrounds. I did see one other that had the same issue, the others were "in the back". The display iPhones still all had iOS 6 and I didn't see the pink tinge on them. It also doesn't show up on my wife's iP5 (still on iOS 6).
I just can't believe this is intential. Anyone else having this problem? Not sure what to do.
It is most prominant when viewing the screen at a slight angle, depending on the light in the room. Very distracting on web pages, calendar, notes, reminders, etc.

The newone how old it is? It is a age related iusse?
Yes I'm under warranty because I bought the iphone directly to the Apple Store (2 warranty years).
Probably they will propose to change the display.....

  • Magenta/pink hue on macbook 13

    hi,
my brand new macbook has a very strong pink hue. i calibrated my monitor using eye-one.
depending on the angle of the screen, it goes to decent color to bright pink/magenta. it makes it impossible to work on photos with it (i am a photographer and this is my backup laptop).
any ideas/news on this? is this a common issue? does apple know about this and offers display replacement?
    ciao,
    @lberto

FYI: Every single laptop panel on the market today is pretty much a 6 bit display. There are no 8 bit laptop displays from any big manufacturer, so this is not a Mac specific thing.
I have a Colorvision Spyder2, and the software supports 'native' white point which is somewhere around 4800 K on this panel. If I define 6500K as a white point, then the display looks rather purplish. Using 'native' is always best. Set the gamma to 2.2 also.
I could mail you my profile, but my screen is the AU Optronics screen 9C5E and is 1 year old.
I understand your frustruation. Try to contact tech support for Eye One and ask them where an option might be for 'native white point'.

  • Lcd pink hue on iphone 5

I notice a pink hue on the iPhone 5 display. It looks like a pink box in the center with a 1cm  white circumference. Is the a known issue for iPhone 5? Will there be an Apple program to repair the faulty display?

I have exactly the same problem, the phone is less than two months after the warranty period. I would like to take me to this problem anyone expressed in terms of - "Yes, we collect data about you published the problem, we only record it, and in the case of publication of the correction of the program, we will inform you."
Who should I contact, I had at least confirmed that the information recorded? So far I have been of service received information only about the fact that if the warranty has expired, I need to get the phone repaired at his own expense - this, of course, I know.
On the one phone is those corrective programs somehow too - battery, power on / off button.
    Thanks
    Marcel

  • My ipad2 screen has turned a pink hue

The screen of my iPad 2 has developed a pink hue. It looks like the pink has replaced the greys in the screen. What can I do to fix this problem or is it a hardware issue?

I have the same issue on my New iPad wifi 64g, it has been present since I first turned it on. I have tried multiple reset's and hard reset's or PRAM reset's. I have restored to original setting's and tried everything I know to do. I also notice light from behind the  screen bleeding through the side's or screen. It does not matter wether it is an App, Browser, Email, Document, etc. etc. It does seem to be confined to the Right hand side of the screen when turned horizontal with the camera facing on the left side of the iPad. I am kind of relieved to see I am not the only one. I have showed to many people who all agreed that they could see it. I compared it with my brother's new iPad as well. I have a Genius Bar Appointment for Saturday March 24. I paid for the engraving when I preordered my ipad and so I really hate to lose the engraving so if a replacement is necessary I will be sending it back to Cuperentino so that I can preserve the engraving or have it redone on a new one. I will post the solution to this tomorrow after my appointment. I sure hope this is a small isolated incident so that Apple doesn't have a problem on their hands. But it is comforting knowing that in the past Apple has exceded my expectation's on the 2 problem's I have ever had with any of my Apple product's over many year's. And I just want to say that the Screen is absolutely BEAUTIFUL on all of the other color's, and that it has exceeded my expectation's on how good this new iPad was going to be. AS ALWAY'S THIS IPAD IS "INSANELY GREAT"!

  • Screen has a pink hue?

Basics first. iMac G4 running OS 10.3.9
Asking this for my dad so hopefully passing on right info.
He had shut down the computer everything running fine. On reboot everything starts up fine, no problems except that the screen now has a pink hue to it. Icons, text, background, everything. It is usable but hard on the eyes. I gave him what I thought was the command to zap the video ram but it didn't work. Suggestions?

  • Pink hue when opening apps

Yesterday I completed a software update and elected not to update my OS from 10.5.2 to 10.5.3. I installed a TWAIN plugin for an older scanner and VueScan. Both the plugin and application were uninstalled using App Zapper after learning that neither worked out for me. I haven't changed anything else as far as the computer goes.
Every so often upon opening an application such as Text Edit, Safari, App Zapper, Photoshop, and Aperture, my screen changes to a dark pink hue that is transparent, but it flashes once and stops.
The other thing that has happened and continues to happen is in iTunes, Safari, & Firefox I have noted some odd behavior as far as page rendering goes. I'll have the screen size set to anywhere from 1269x963 to 1530x1385. These are just random measurments of typical window sizes from time to time. Clearly they vary.
When I am scrolling up and down white blocks appear, they're dynamic really, flickering even. I noticed this from day one but almost figured that was just how things were. I haven't ever noticed this on my old PowerBook. The number and placement of such boxes varies. I think it's how pages are being rendered but I am not sure.

    Hey Edward Staines1,
Thanks for the question and congratulations on your new iPhone 6. Your iPhone 6 includes the beautiful Retina HD display, with a higher resolution and more pixels than previous models. Some third-party application developers may have not yet released updates for these larger displays, so built into iOS 8 is a desktop-class scaler - technology that helps make this software look beautiful on different sized displays. This scaler will resize the entire interface when one of these applications is launched. • Pink hue on external projectors

I have searched throughout this forum and cannot find any suggestions. Please guide me.
I have found recently that when I plug into external projectors I get a pink hue. It happens on virtually all projectors I use now.
Originally, it worked fine. I am wondering if my upgrade to Mac OS X is the culprit. I cannot be sure, but I believe that it began after my upgrade. It happened a couple of times before the upgrade now everytime since.

Any solution to this problem yet?
